Just imagine - we are a family of four on a Sunday around noon driving through town looking for a local non-chain spot for lunch. We were greeted on a soon-to-be church ridden crowd by a pleasant hostess, seated quickly and served hush puppies and potato wedges immediately. The menu is affordable, even a steal if you ask me! We had the grilled salmon and a shrimp po-boy. Kids had nuggets and applesauce. In and out in under an hour and spent $40 including tip. Bargain and good food!

This review is specifically for the snow crab legs special for $19.99 (we were there on a Saturday). Absolutely fantastic - and it was definitely enough! The sides here were great which is usually lacking at seafood places as they tend to focus on the seafood. We were served three clusters each - it was so delicious!! We happened to be driving home from Atlanta (live in Asheville) and I would be happy to make the drive again just for the crab legs. Yum!

love the shrimp!! wish they had deveined them but still very good, my husband and I both had the cold boiled shrimp that comes with two sides and it was only $19 for both, great prices, please don't go to red lobster, their disgusting

We were just passing through, saw they had crab legs! 19.95 for 2 lbs of delicious crab legs, and the sides were great too. Very friendly service there as well!

Iama Critic Rating - Silver Bay Seafood Restaurant - 4 Stars 6513 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 29611 Overall: As a Greenville native you probably already know that the beach is a good four hours away. And you probably already know that the best seafood shacks are just blocks from the beach. So being this far inland it is mighty hard to find decent seafood, especially seafood that isn't breaded and fried to oblivion. In fact Chef Iama Critic and his Five Star Restaurant Review crew have yet to find a five star seafood restaurant in the Upstate of South Carolina. Oh sure, you can find an awesome seafood entree at a steak house here or there, but when you find a seafood place in the Upstate it is either ridiculously priced like Joe's Crab Shack, or it is supremely awful like Harbor Inn Seafood. Thankfully there is Silver Bay Seafood Restaurant that combines decent selection and prices with awesome seafood available fried, broiled and grilled! And thankfully Silver Bay has several locations so check your GPS for the location nearest you. The Service - 4 Stars (18%) The service we received was above standard. Our waitress was attentive, helpful and sociable. She handled all our special orders perfectly and delivered the entrees one by one, as we requested. She however would not let me order a single one pound handmade hush puppy, but I supposed I can forgive that. We typically provide 20% or more for 5 star service on the pre-tax portion of the bill, 18% for 4, 15% for 3, 12% for 2 and 0% for 1 star service. The Food: Hush Puppies - 3 Stars I hate the shape of these machine dispensed hush puppies. Do they really have to look like dog poop? I miss the old fat round ones! Yet they have decent flavor and do their job - namely keeping kids quite! $5.99 Oyster Soup - 4 Stars This large bowl of oyster soup could use some butter, pepper, and heavy cream. So I ordered the butter and cream. But the real travesty is that Silver Bay had no oyster crackers!! How can you serve oyster soup without oyster crackers. Isn't that it like heresy or something, or at least an unforgivable sin! Once you add the butter and cream this soup is superb. $3.99 Onion Rings - 3 Stars The onion rings were mighty good, but lot's of places are making great rings now days, and this portion is just a bit small for the price. So while they are good, good is the new average. $5.99 Blooming Onion - 5 Stars This blooming onion is about as good as they get. Perfectly cooked and beautiful presentation. And unlike the rings, less and less places are offering blooming onions, so this one gets five stars. $5.99 Fish Sandwich - 5 Stars TWO fillets and a choice of sides makes this sandwich extraordinary at this price. Perfectly fried fillets. Crispy, light, flaky with a nice selection of condiments. $8.99 Flounder Fillet - 5 Stars Great price, portion and a selection of sides make this an awesome entree. Just as good as J Peters and they make the best fried flounder. $43.75 for two adults including tax, tip and two soda fountain drinks. This is significantly more than you are likely to spend per person. Final Thought: Silver Bay Seafood Restaurant certainly isn't a Captain George's (Five Stars, North Myrtle Beach) but then Silver Bay doesn't charge $31.00 a person either. So Silver Bay is currently our favorite and highly recommended seafood restaurant for the Greenville area, because they simply beat all the competition in the same price range.

This Yelp review is for the out-of-towners (of which I am one) because the Greenville locals clearly know all about Silver Bay Restaurant. Passing through Greenville on the way back to Atlanta and stopped in for lunch. This is really a very, very, nice small town restaurant. From the neat water feature by the kitchen to the spacious booths, the custom plates, beautiful fish tanks, and high quality menus, it's obvious that the business is well-run and the owners have reinvested in it. The staff is exceptionally polite, they work well together, and you feel taken care of from the moment you sit down. The selection of seafood is extensive and rivals the choices you would find in a large city while being offered at very reasonable prices. The portions are HUGE and the seafood is fresh and high quality. Highly recommend! .

I was not impressed with the food. I didn't want a big meal, so I was foolish enough to order a cheeseburger at a seafood restaurant. It was probably one of the worst I have ever had. I then decided to try the talapia, but it was dry. The french fries was like the frozen kind you get at the grocery store. The hushpuppies & potato wedges, however, were good. The service was also good, being both friendly & attentive to ones needs. I had eaten here once a number of years ago & remember not being very impressed then, either.
