Because this restaurant is in such a convenient location, I have eaten here a handful of times. Some times it's ok food, but it's always slow. Even when you call in an order to pick up in the drive thru it takes about 20minutes after you arrive past the time they quote over the phone. Today we ordered 6 meat and three plates, an appetizer, & a 12 piece order of wings. We got home and NO ONE got what they ordered. Wether it was the wrong side, the wrong sauce, etc. NOTHING WAS CORRECT! and we were missing the 12 piece order of wings, the appetizer (fried squash) & 2 bananna puddings. After calling back, the restaurant agreed to fix the order, so we drove all the way back there and was greated with an apology and a order of Chicken livers and 3 banana puddings. So, the order was still wrong. We explained the order again and they apologized again and said they could make the wings but it would take 15 minutes. We agree to wait. Then about 8 mins later they come and ask for $9 for the wings we already pay for. NO! So, they give us 2 banana puddings but said they know that we got the squash and that we are lying. By this time my boyfriend was so irate we just drove off. NO RESOLUTION. JUST RUDE PEOPLE, BAD SERVICE. Never ever again will we darken the doors of this establishment nor will our friends.

I was pleasantly surprised by the food offerings and how good they were. The staff was very cordial and the food was brought out in a very timely manner. The prices are resonable and the portions are plentiful. This girl will definitely be back again. Here's a tip, ask for crispy fries. Mmmhmmm.

Every so often in South Carolina, I come across a meat and three that is ridiculously awesome. That was the case here on a Sunday morning. I was driving around, and I came across this homestyle joint. I was pretty excited because they charge an additional $1 during Sunday lunch. Obviously, this meant that the meal was going to be awesome. The service is awesome, and the joint is just a very downhome sort of sit-down diner. The prices are affordable, and there is a huge selection of your classic American dishes: meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, fried chicken... on different days of course. Having all of their offerings on a single day is like heresy in the South. At $5.75, your meal is a definite bargain, especially if you can eat a lot! When my food came out, an entire dinner plate was covered in grub... and I still had my vegetable soup on the side. Sure, the meal was not particularly amazing, but I was still really happy. My mac and cheese was creamy, but not particularly flavorful. My vegetable soup had a ton of veggies, but was literally room temperature. My black eyed peas were good, but under seasoned. The turkey and dressing won me over, though. The gravy was thick and creamy. The burnt chunks of dressing were crispy, and the soft parts were moist and super tender. There was a lot of turkey, and it was all really tender and moist. This little establishment may rival any Greenville eatery you may choose to go to, so put this on your map if Greenville is your destination. If you live in the area, you have a local gem on your hands.

My family enjoyed a delicious meal at this restaurant. The menu is decidedly down-home, Southern, and homemade. We were surprised by the quality of the food. I had the daily special: chicken pot pie. It was a tad salty but the vegetables were cooked perfectly - not overdone, and moist/not dry. I believe they use crushed biscuits as the "crust." It has chunks of cooked chicken in it. I'm not a gravy eater but the gravy over the chicken pot pie had a "real" flavor (no hint of "canned"!!) and was tasty without grease. The portions are generous. My son had crisp, non-greasy, seasoned French fries with his bacon, cheeseburger. I loved the cooked, seasoned cabbage, the cole slaw was creamy, not-oniony, and just the right amount of sweet. The sweet tea, unusual for a local hangout, was not syrupy sweet. I usually have the waitress mix unsweet with sweet but their tea was just right "straight." Two things were particularly outstanding. Our waitress, Betty, was present (!!), informative, friendly and genuine. You love honoring such heartfelt, personalized service with a good tip! (Betty, you made our day!) We enjoyed their best-in-Greenville corn muffins. These taste like the cook wants you to enjoy real cornbread, baked to perfection, with a slightly crispy crust, and not sugary (like the mixes). The fried calabash chicken puts all but the best chickens-specialty restaurants to shame (without costing a lot)! This menu is not one that I would want every day. However, growing up with a mother who lovingly prepared every meal, and a wife who caringly, consistently, and conscientiouly plans what our family eats, Riverside is a place we can go to give mom a break, and all enjoy a healthy, enjoyable meal for a reasonable cost. We have found a new favorite. Mama approves, too! Did I mention that the staff at Riverside serves as if they want you to come back?!! We definitely will! It's a little noisy, true, and there are no tablecloths but you're in good company and you're glad to pay for what you get!

My wife's parents invited us here yesterday for my wife's "birthday" breakfast so I went along and was quite surprised. First it was in another old restaurant that I think was called the Lil Rebel at one point. I really wasn't expecting much but when surveying the prices was pleasantly surprised. I'll put it this way, all 6 of us ate for $25. Can't beat that! As for the food, it was okay bit plentiful. Loved the giant biscuits and huge sausage rounds. I was stuffed by the end of the meal. The environment seemed a bit dated but expected for a hometown restaurant. Loved the artwork about the mill villages. Also they need a little more care for the utensils - had lots of water spots on them, not dirty but waterspots sometimes feel that way. Other than that no complaints for the cleanliness. As for the service. It was exceptional! Couldn't ask for better. Even the lady serving coffee was jovial and all dressed up for Halloween. I loved it and felt right at home. Will I be back? Absolutely! I think we have found another neighborhood favorite.

Good, basic value breakfast. You won't walk out hungry. Waitstaff is "mature" and no-nonsense...good down home folk. While Riverside has Internet (you can detect a signal and it indicates it is available to the public), no one knows the password!...too bad as access would make Riverside my goto breakfast place.

This place sucks!! The food is horrible, the staff is inconsistant. Every time I eat from this place I leave very sick!! Their meat is more like mystery meat. Take my advice, stay away from this restaurant!!
