What a delightful place to stay in the Greenville area. Quaint, charming, comfortable and clean. Our hostess was most helpful and breakfast was delicious. Each room had all you would need and provided a welcome break from busy schedules.

My husband and attended a wedding in Greenville and decided to stay at this B&B based on the yelp and tripadvisor reviews. We were so pleased with our stay. We arrived after hours and there were very clear instructions for us on how to get into the building and to our room. There was a nice welcome letter on the desk in our room telling us to help ourselves to cookies and beverages in the hall and noting the times for breakfast. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we slept quite well. The location is perfect- in a quaint historical neighborhood that is walking distance to downtown Greenville. We were lucky enough to catch the farmer's market on Saturday and then took a stroll on the trail that goes past the waterfall. Breakfast at this B&B was really heavenly! We had peach-carmel french toast with bacon the morning we left. Not sure if we will find ourselves in Greenville again, but if we do visit, Pettigru is our place!

Wow...from the time Randi the innkeeper greeted me at the door, I knew I made a great decision. Great home, great room, great service, great value and great breakfast. You will not be disappointed. Can't wait to return.

We stayed here 3 nights in June. Lori is a gracious hostess and this is a nice B&B. Breakfasts are unusually large and clearly lots of work goes into preparation of the food and the presentation. We were here in mid-June with temperatures in the 90's and humidity at 100%+. Although this B&B is located only 9 blocks from the central business district, we found a rental car to be a necessity. A 3 block walk in the heat of the day left us soaking in our own sweat, so those 9 blocks there and the 9 back would be challenging to walk during the day at this time of year. Our room was the Carolinian, located upstairs. The room was a nice size and the mattress comfortable, although not plush and maybe needing replacement in the next few months. The oversized tub and the shower both were fine. The cookie jar and the free soft drinks were a nice touch. This old home has been carefully refurbished, which obviously took much time, love, and care. Any room for improvement? Our room could have used a deep cleaning and a new mattress. Dust accumulation was noticeable in several areas. Despite the few issues mentioned, we would stay here again. This B&B is far better than the hotel alternatives, and more reasonably priced.

I wish we could give this bed and breakfast more than just five stars!!!! Lori, the proprietor, and Susie and the other staff were boundlessly friendly, helpful, and delightful. The rooms are all furnished lovingly with charming extra touches of decor. We were in the Rosamunde room on the southwest corner of the second floor and enjoyed the afternoon sunshine. When we return in warmer weather, we may try the Green Rabbit room that has its own porch on the northeast corner of the second floor. But, honestly, we would be happy in any of the rooms! There is self-serve coffee, water, soft drinks, ice, and an endless supply of homemade cookies at a station on the second floor. (and, oh my word, ORGANIC half and half!!!) All the room doors seem thick and soundproof because we heard almost no one the two nights we were there. There is a puzzle room on the first floor with a rotating puzzle board, and if you finish the puzzle, you can choose and start another one. It was perfect for a cold, wet weekend. The adjoining sitting room has comfortable chairs for reading and a soft couch for lounging. There are regional magazines to inform guests of the area's attractions and businesses. And the breakfasts? Gourmet! And catered to each person's eating preferences. The fresh fruit was FRESH and ripe; the bacon was cooked CRISP; and the oatmeal cookie pancakes had their own special topping instead of maple syrup. The decaf coffee had a hint of cinnamon. The second morning's breakfast started with a beautiful fruit tart-- a huge delicious 6-inch tart!! Then we were served (I wish I remembered the official name...) a sausage and mushroom crepe stack with cheese sauce and poached egg. Mine was modified with potato and sausage and without the egg because of personal preference expressed when we checked in. And these gourmet breakfasts are served on fine china and crystal, keeping standard with the linens and other accoutrements. We are looking forward to returning to the Petttigru Place Bed and Breakfast!

Stayed here for a girls weekend with 4 other people and we had a relaxing time. We liked being able to hang out in the house and talk, as well as go downstairs for breakfast in our pajamas. The host was very gracious and friendly and we all got good sleep. The rooms were cute as ever. We'd definitely stay here again if we come back to Greenville!

My father and I were traveling from Athens, GA to Richmond, VA and were looking for somewhere to stay as we headed out of GA. My dad keeps tons of travel info from years past and although skeptical of his old school ways...he always finds great accommodations. We came upon Pettigru's info and seeing that it fell into our travel route nicely, he called immediately to book a room. He spoke with the B&B hostess, Lori, who offered a two bedroom/2 bathroom suite with common sitting room for us. I imagine it was reasonably priced and we quickly accepted this. Lori then asked if we had any special dietary needs and my dad mentioned his needs and I told her I am Gluten sensitive. It happened that we were driving from Charlotte, NC to GA that AM and my dad suggested we call Pettigru for a lunch suggestion as we drove through the area. Janette(?) made several suggestions and we did stop in Greenville for lunch, which was great. See review for MaryBeth's! Upon on return into Greenville that evening, we were greeted by Lori and shown to our fabulous rooms. She showed us a common area where coffee, tea and soft drinks were offered, and some homemade chocolate chip cookies. She then pointed out that she left me some homemade gluten free chocolate chip cookies in my room! And they were so delicious! I actually asked her for some baking tips and she was kind enough to share. My dad and I mentioned we'd be looking for a place for dinner so Lori suggested we look through the binder of local restaurant menus, then made some specific suggestions as well. All the while, dad and I sipped on some lovely merlot and snacked on cheese and fruit Lori provided for us! I typically try to keep my reviews short, but there's just too much to say to cut it short! So... After a great night's sleep, we awoke to an amazing breakfast, starting with some fresh fruit, a gluten free crepe for me and veggie frittata, dad had a normal crepe and egg/sausage scramble. With our bellies full and being well rested we were off to Richmond without needing to stop for another meal during our travels that day! I would HIGHLY recommend Pettigru Place to anyone traveling to or through Greenville! Thank you Lori for a fantastic stay!
