I have been to Nose Dive multiple times and I'm always happy! Today our server, Whitney, set the bar above and beyond for servers. She was so friendly and our food was wonderful! We shared the lobster sliders and I had the southern belle hamburger, amazing! I would suggest this spot to everyone and highly recommend, Whitney!!

I'm bummed I am writing this review. To start all dishes smelled like wet dog My hands still smelled after washing and leaving the restaurant So vile I went for FoodFest I'm new to the area and thought they would try and wow me to come back I was wrong 6&20 Bourbon had been exposed to oxygen for a long time You're a bourbon drinker you know what I'm saying... Nasty. The fritters with chili jam had no flavor just heat The chicken & waffles were gross I'm suspecting the chicken had been refrozen at least once Waffles had no flavor Bacon brownie was fair Service OK I'll maybe try this place again for good karma My gut feeling ... Owners just collect checks No love in the food Bummer because I saw this restaurant on Studio 62

Two stars only because the location is good and it's open an sunny. As I'm typing this, the staff, ALL OF IT, is no where to be seen! No front desk, no hostess, no waitstaff, no one. Which accounts for the extremely poor service. This is the third time I have come here. The first two I sat for close to 20 mins before walking out since not one single waiter came by my table. But I figured they were inexperienced and too busy. Well, they are just poor at their job, I found out today since I stuck it out just to review them here! Waited 15 mins before the hostess, who had been busy chitchatting with management, noticed no one had served me. She gets someone to notify him. I order a beer and a Broumana Xhicken Sandwich, which the menu describes as Lebanese spiced chicken with veggies and tahini. TEN minutes later he shows up with my beer. Sandwich comes with side of salad. Salad greens chewy, balsamic "vinaigrette" gloppy, lukewarm and tastes like mayo mixes with vinegar. Sandwich: tasteless, no spice, chicken simply "grilled", no tahini. I've been done for a long time and waiter just now takes my plates away. Note that ALL the menus have been laying on my small table the entire time.

Did some yelping before going out to dinner in this unknown city. Nose Dive seemed like a place w decent reviews and had a good menu to choose from. Apps: Tried the Deviled Eggs 3 Ways. - i dont eat deviled eggs normally.. Plate came with: chicken salad egg, cheesy egg and normal deviled egg. i give it a 3 stars Black Eyed Peas Hummus: - first time trying - i enjoyed it, very good with an odd but refrehsing flavor. I give it 4 stars Dinner: BROUMANA CHICKEN SANDWICH Lebanese-Spiced Chicken, Mix Veggies, Pickles & Tahini GF* - this was AMAZING.. surprisingly yummy and unique flavors. i was hesitant but this was pretty good and you get a side. I DEF got the HERB TATER TOTS.. - they were big, bigger than normal tots and had a great taste to them. 5 stars Co worker ordered the Mussels app as an entree and for the 'Mussel Snob' she said she is, she said it was a decent plate of mussels and would order again. Looking for greens - we split the Southener Salad.. fillled with goat cheese (YUM) and friend green tomatoes. this is a great salad, I would order that again and again!

Had some great appetizers.... Service was incredible... Our server was Joseph! Very personable and had great suggestions. Food was great!!

There wasn't anything bad about the Nose Dive, but I didn't leave feeling highly impressed either. Maybe it was what I ordered... I got the grilled cheese with tater tots. Tater tots were HUGE and didnt' seem like they had completely cooked through. Also, the grilled cheese was nothing hugely special, although I did like the foccacia bread. We did order the pulled pork nachos and those were phenomenal. Would definitely get those again, as they were the highlight of our dinner. Also, wasn't highly impressed with our server. Took forever to bring us our drinks and he barely filled up my water.. they didn't appear to be too busy either. I do like the atmosphere and it had a good feeling inside. I would probably come back, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Wow, can't believe it's been three years since we've eaten here, but I suppose it's not surprising given the number of choices downtown. Once again, the food was freshly prepared, very tasty, and served promptly. Highly recommend the grilled chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries.

I was craving a burger and my boyfriend and I decided to stop here by recommendation and we weren't disappointed. The place is a bit hidden on a corner of South Main Street, next to the Westin Poinsettia hotel, from the outside it looks like a regular pub but, the atmosphere changes once you go in. Eclectic decoration and menu, between formal and casual the inside welcomes you with a spacious dinning area at the front and more in the back area. The staff was made it for me, Phillip, our waiter was really helpful, knowledgeable of the menu and friendly. We both got the Smoke N' Hot burger and, even though we weren't impressed, the flavor was good and even better accompanied with the herbed tater tots (best I've ever had!). I May say, dessert was the best part of all, I had the Kraken Caribbean Rum Cake and he had the Dark Chocolate Candied Bacon Brownie, they were exquisite and delicious; you can't go wrong asking for either! A bit on the pricey side, Nose Dive is worth the visit if you're around Greenville. I would recommend to have lunch or early dinner since late night and weekends tends to be crowded and noisy.

Unfortunately, the name describes the trajectory of our experience there: at first highly impressed by the décor and menu followed by a steep decline in our mood due to poor service. Nose Dive hits a lot of right notes on style and offerings. It's the execution that is hurting them right now. The look of Nose Dive is spectacular: two floors, high ceiling, nicely appointed furnishings and lighting. Both bar areas are well laid out and visually appealing. The offerings are also quite good: huge selection of beer and wine and a variety of small plates and entrees. The problem is that the waitstaff when we were there was small and overwhelmed, so it took an unreasonably long time for drinks to be delivered. The food did come quickly, but was not of particularly high quality. Don't get me wrong: the staff was friendly and was working hard. I think they just need more help and training. Nose Dive is a really nice place and I'd love to go back and give them another shot. But my experience left much to be desired.

Great Asian lettuce wraps with pork belly. I wish the portion was larger because I could have kept eating all afternoon. The place was packed at lunch and everybody seemed to be cleaning their plates. A very good sign! I want to go back and check out their brunch on the weekend.

Excellent experience! The wait was shorter that expected. The menu was loaded with Gluten Free options. The quality of the ingredients was top notch and prepared well. As out-of-towners the brunch was a pleasant surprise- we just wandered into this place by accident. Our server was attentive and sweet.

If I could only say one thing about my experience with "Nose Dive" it would be that the food here has character. They definitely don't lack creativity and innovation when it comes to "re-factoring" old dishes to satisfy the emerging palate sophistication of the proletariat. This is what sets them apart form the rest of the pub food in Greenville, they go the distance to deliver dishes that we all know and love, with wonderful variations that both excite and engage their guest. PLEASE don't miss out on their "Braveheart Prime Beef" Burgers as this beef really is the best "single ingredient" burger in town. Wonderful fat content, and insatiable seasoning leaves this burger at the top of my 'favorites' list. Add a fried egg and bacon, affectionately called a "little breakfast." Pair this with an Oatmeal Stout and a side of massive in house "herb tater tots," and you cannot go wrong. They are situated in the heart of downtown right across from "Ale Yeah" which puts you in the middle of the action on Friday or Saturday nights which is awesome. They have outdoor seating which is fantastic, but if its all taken and you must sit in the dining room, note that it seems fairly dark inside. I usually do not visit in the middle of the day because there are many other venues that supply me with a little brighter experience, however, I do frequent this place after dark. The staff is fantastic, and have always been cordial. Whether we are just getting drinks upstairs, or eating Sunday brunch on the veranda outside, this place has not failed to deliver great food and courteous service. I can unabashedly recommend Nose Dive as a place I frequent and love. Enjoy!

Cool inside on a hot day. Friendly staff. Tots and pulled pork app is killer and not too big. Burger was good. Sweet potato fries are a little too sweet. I preferred the regular fries. Loved the atmosphere and would definitely go again.

Eat there twice a week for lunch and sometimes for happy hour. Great food and pretty darn good service. Great beer and wine selection. Happy hour wine prices are excellent. Recommend the deviled eggs and bacon, any burger of the day, fish tacos, parsnip salad with chicken or salmon, grilled pork and on Sunday brunch the grits bar.

Great bar area and craft beers. Had the special. A "fire burger" that had great spice and I added jalapeños and avocado. Perfectly cooked and the staff was excellent. Highly recommended.

This place was right next to my hotel which was convenient. I sat at the bar and the bartender was awesome, fast service and great recommendations. I tried the beef tartar entree special and it was very good.

Started with the three way deviled eggs. Basically 2 traditional 2 w/chicken salad 2w/homemade pimento cheese(I think). Nothing spectacular. Also had the dive tacos w/jerk chicken. Very blah and flavorless. Then had gastro pub burger w/herbed tater tots and sweet potato fries. Just as boring....nothing burst with the flavors the menu had promised. My pallet and I left unsatisfied and disappointed like a bad one night stand! It was loud and it was way overpriced. Don't mind at'all to fork out dough for good food but you gotta hit good and make me want to come back for more...yea won't be back. Want a good burger...go to city tavern downtown and it's half the price.

We dined here recently with a big group, 8 of us. We'd been to a couple of different places before trying to get seating, but they were all full. Nose Dive sat us right away (which maybe was telling?). The atmosphere was really cool and our waiter was very friendly. We ordered a few appetizers: 1. The Mussels: Cooked very well and I liked the sauce they came in 2. Grit Fritters: Sounds great in theory, just kind of OK in reality. A little bland, even with the pork on top. 3. Pulled Pork Nachos: the best of the appetizers we got. 4. Black Eyed Pea Hummus: Good, but a little bland. I liked the idea of it, but I think it could use a little improving. For entrees, I tried the Diggy Burger, which was really delicious, but I was so full from all of the appetizers that I couldn't eat anymore. Drinks: I really liked the candy apple, and I'd come back to the bar for the Hendrix Experience for sure. The only one I didn't like was the Pickens Mule which tasted the way I imagine Drano to taste.

I enjoyed my visit to Nose Dive as much for the awesome service as I did for my meal. The staff made the evening memorable, especially after a nearby tray "fumble". We all laughed together. Everyone enjoyed their food. A definite winner and should be near the top of your list when you visit here.

This is centrally located in downtown Greenville. It is close to the peace center and the waterfall. Completely adorable. We went here for Sunday brunch and were pleasantly surprised. The brunch menu had many delicious options to choose from and we struggled to make decisions. I finally went with the chicken sandwich while my fiancé had the southerner salad. The chicken sandwich was pretty good. It is shredded chicken in a sauce that tasted exactly like chicken and dumplings. It was topped wth avocado and for my side I went with squash and zucchini. The side could have been a little better seasoned. It was just slightly bland for my liking. My fiancé loved the sandwich and we ended up splitting everything. The southern salad is a mix of dark greens. It was so good! The dressing was an apple cider vinaigrette. It was topped with candied nuts, goat cheese, and fried green tomatoes. Overall the food was decent. I would love to try their grits bar next time. I feel like I just didn't order the right thing on the menu. Location and service gives it a 4 star rating!

Went for brunch. Had the mack n cheese and the "poached egg" was boiled. Grit bar was decent. Bartender and beer were Great!! Should have had the burger. Not totally disappointed but definitely not impressed.

Loved everything about this place, had the grits bar and it was fantastic! The bartender was super friendly for brunch, she also made a great Bloody Mary!

Diggy Sandwich (Chopped beef belly , Smoked Chipotle Glaze, Cheddar on Texas Toast) washed down with a Quest Kaldi Impetial Coffee Stout. Even though we had the honors of being the training aids for a waiter in training the service was spot on. The beer was rich, full bodied and smooth with coffee undertones. Very nice indeed. The sandwich was good. Not knock your socks off good but good. It has some flaws with the Texas Toast over powering the rest of the sandwich and the beef belly not as tender as I expected from a belly cut. With that said the overall flavor was good. This will not be my go to meal here but I would try it again . I did sample my wife's Smoke N' Hot Burger and it was much better than my selection. Overall experience warrants a repeat and recommendation.

I hate to do this! Nosedive has been our go to brunch spot for years but has been in a steady decline the last few times we have been here. This time I decided to write a review- Service- not good. At all. The two of us waited for 30 minutes and watched several other parties of two who had gotten there after us get seated before us. We finally got seated after my husband said something, but not before they seated another party of 2 before us. Waitress was sweet but forgot a Bloody Mary, and silverware never came until we asked the food runner. Food was good as usual but not as good as it has been in the past- there was a rotini noodle in my chilaquiles!!! If this had been a one time occurrence it would be different. We need a new brunch spot... Any ideas? I think the owner has forgotten about this spot because every other table 301 restaurant is very good.

This was my first trip to Nose Dive since the new chef took over. So far, I'm not impressed. The Caesar salad was way too artsy, and difficult to dis-assemble and eat. It was whole leaves tucked through a pastry donut, and looked like a lettuce napkin in a napkin ring. The entrees have shrunk significantly in size...even the most modest eater in our party (the one who always leaves with a doggie bag) cleaned her plate, saying "this is it?" The rest of us left still a bit hungry. Nose Dive has always been a place where you could get an abundance of food that paired nicely with a few great pints of beer (exactly what a Gastropub should be). The new menu is more refined...less pub and more something that should be paired with a bottle of wine. They still have a great rotating selection of beer on tap, so I may move my business over to the bar and skip the food.

Service today was pleasant but so-so....food is def bar food, nothing special....not up to Table 301 standards.... if you like heavy food, you'll like it but not very tasty.

Multiple times of giving this restaurant the benefit of doubt.. I do not think I will return. The food is less than mediocre. But even if you are just coming to have a cocktail can be a serious disappointment. Drinking at Lazy Goat and Soby's often I have enjoyed their St. Germain cocktails. Last night I ordered one and the bartender was clueless and charged for a $10 glass of Prosseco and $6 shot of St. Germain! It was absolutely careless thrown together in a champagne flute and was Horrible in taste and price! Wish this place would have better food, service and bartenders. The atmosphere and location have to be the only reason this is still open!

Our first time here and we will definitely be back. We lucked out and got the famous Jason as our wait staff. He knew EVERYTHING, was so attentive and had great pictures to share as well. Felt like a tour through the kitchen with him by our side - and we needed thst because there were so many great options to choose from. I loved it so much I signed up for Yelp just so that I could leave the through this review. Would highly recommend.

If you eat here and don't get the Chicken and Waffles you made a HUGE mistake!! It's the best meal downtown hands down! Also bar staff is very knowledgeable with a great selection.

I think the Diggy as the best sandwich in Greenville. I have always enjoyed this place abd been treated great here.

Flavor took a nose dive here! Both the vega burger and fish and chips were without any. Fish was greasy and had bones left in it. The burger was tasteless and dry. No amount of sauce could fix this! Limp fries did not improve our experience. We will never eat here again!

  • Abbie C.

My husband and I have dined here several times. We cannot say enough about how amazing the food is! We love the quiet atmosphere too - perfect spot for a date. The only issue that we've had is that one time we had slow service (it took 45 to get our entrées after ordering them even though the restaurant was not busy).

Decided to try something new while in town for a meeting. Nosedive looked great on paper. For a gastropub the beer list was not huge. Loved the fact that they had Trooper on draught. We ordered a hummus app, but it came after our entrees came, so we said we didn't want it. My sis and I both got fish & chips. Seriously I've had better at Captain D's. The slaw was off too. Our friend got a burger that looked good, but you can get a good burger most places. We may have ordered bad, as there were many items on the menu that I wanted to try, but when sis got fish and chips, I thought "that would go good with the beer I was drinking". I'm usually not this harsh of a critic when I think I may have ordered bad, but frying fish is basic preperation and there are just too many good places on Main Street (cheaper than Nose Dive) to lead people here. If you are a Greenville native, and can give it multiple tries please do, but if you are traveling like I was try another place... Server/Bartender was very nice and polite. Not sure who's mistake it was that we didn't get our appetizers.

We were pleasantly surprised, we just went in not knowing anything about it. We had the Southerner salad, the grit tots and the , can't remember the name, anyway everything was delicious. Our waiter Jason was awesome . And that was just lunch. When we are back in Greenville, we will be back.

We drove from Augusta to have lunch in Downtown Greenville. Boy, were we disappointed. We ordered two fish and chips and a burger off the lunch menu. The fish came out over fried, hard as a rock and burnt looking. The inside was no better, mine was full of grease and had a slimy texture. We couldn't even get to the inside if my aunt's order, it was that hard. My husband's burger looked like a Bubba Burger with a fake orange cheese slice on it. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to eat within an hour or if you're looking for good GastroPub fare.

Sitting outside on a Sunday enjoying a grey goose Bloody Mary and a ground duck burger. One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Can not recommend enough. Put this on the main menu. Enjoyed!!!

great food, very considerate, polite & professional service. their bring food, fruit and burgers are fantastic. recommended if you want a relaxed brunch or a socially engaging dinner (clean and encouraging atmosphere). if you're dt and need a solid bite, this is a reliable restaurant for a healthy amount of food...P.S. their fries (sweet potato and normal) are amazing!! enjoy the comida!

Seriously, might have been the worst and most bizarre experience of my life. We walked in with a group of five and got promptly seated. Our server (Michael was his name. Good guy) was quick to fill our waters. We order our two apps, the wings and the mussels. After bringing our bar drinks, he took our entree orders. That's where our night went to crap. While waiting for our apps, we noticed some black stuff floating in our waters. We notified our server, and he quickly ran to the back to the kitchen. When he came back, he said the ice machine was making ice with black stuff inside. A few of us have worked or are currently working at restaurants. The only way concluded an ice machine can produce black stuff is if mold grows due to neglect of cleaning. GROSS. We ordered sodas, but our night was not looking good. Our appetizers came and we started digging in. The mussels were good. They were in a wine and chow chow sauce and came with foccacia bread. This was the best dish of the night. The chicken wings came out and THEY WERE RAW. NOT EVEN HOT. COLD. RAW. We flagged our server down and pointed out the flaw. He took it back to the kitchen. Upon return, he told us that this was a very rare mistake because the chicken wings usually come in precooked and all they have to do is reheat. What? I just purchased an 8 dollar appetizer that was precooked? And when i recieved said precooked chicken wings, they were undercooked? So I ordered undercooked precooked chicken wings? Seriously? Thinking our night could only get better, we kept our seats and waited for our entrees. Our five entrees are as follow: Two orders of the butcher 's steaks (both medium), fish and chips, the gastro cheeseburger, and the endive salad. Our Entrees: Butcher's Steak: Steak was cooked perfectly but a little pale in color. That's due to the fact that they slice the steak before plating it. You lose a lot of the steaks juices that way when you cook a steak with any temperature exceeding medium rare. Its always a shame when a restuarant pre-carves your steak. Roasted Potatoes were so raw, I had to use my knife to saw through it. I think the menu said watercress. I got spinach. I'm not too sure on this point though. Second Butcher's Steak (It was my brothers. and it was his birthday): Steak was rare. He ordered it medium. Potatoes were cooked though. Also, as mentioned before, it was pre-sliced. Which makes it even worse. The chef saw that it was undercooked, but sent it out anyway. For real, man? No excuse for that. Fish and Chips: The fish was undercooked. Not flaky like fried fish should be. Raw. You can't eat pacific cod raw. Its not sashimi grade. Coleslaw tasted like just grated cabbage. No real seasoning. He also order a side of brussel sprouts. They were tasty. Alot of onions though. You expect a side of brussels to be mainly brussels. Where did the onions come from? Gastro Cheeseburger: Decent size and cooked well. There was, however, a perfect square of cheese melted on top. She said it tasted like american cheese. For ten bucks, we expected real cheese, not plastic cheese-food. She also ordered a side of black truffle tater tots as her side. When we got the bill, we were charged for an extra side of tots. Soooo...what? If we were charged because she couldn't order that as her side, it would have been nice to have been told that. And also, where was the side that was supposed to come with it if that was an additional side? Did I just pay more for less food? Endive salad: THREE pieces of endive. THREE. Its literally a mixed green salad with a few pieces of endives on the side. For six bucks, I didn't expect much, but that's a little crappy. Shouldn't call it an endive salad if the main green on the plate isn't endive. Dessert: Didn't even make it. We did have our two butcher's steaks, wings, and fish and chips all comped. Our final bill was $74.42. After tip, an even $100 (we didn't enjoy our meal, but that's no reason not to tip for decent service!) Overall, I would say I wouldn't say I would recommend this place. I usually try places at least two times before reviewing...but I don't think I can't justify going back. Service was decent. Anything he didn't know, he would promptly run to the someone who did know and find out. He also gave my brother a free bday shot, which was nice. The management was also very nice. She looked really upset and comping our food was really nice of her. I like them both, but they aren't enough for me to come back. On a positive side, we did end the night at Waffle House(I was really hungry). Waffle House did have an angus cheeseburger, the same as nosedives. I paid one dollar at Waffle House. I paid 10 bucks at Nose Dive. It was delicious.

After so many decent reviews I was generally disappointed. The space lacked any sense of style and certainly had no "pub feel" to it. It was more like some tables placed in a former retail space. There were several servers yet no service a sure sign of a lack of management. Waiting over 10 minutes after being seated to receive menus and place drink orders was not a good sign. Water glasses were never refilled during our 90 minutes there. Food was ok. Staff really just seemed not to care.

I came here with a small group of people after hearing great reviews. They had a lot of gluten-free options which is what swayed us to choose here. We were informed by our not-so-enthusiastic server that the menu was new due to a new head chef. I ordered a glass of red wine from on tap, because that's what they recommend, and it came out hot. Red wine should be close to room temp, not hot. I ordered the pork loin, which was recommended by the server. It was overly cooked, dry and chewy. The other guests in my party weren't overly impressed by their dinners either. One person ordered the burger, which actually was very good. I may try this place again later once the head chef settles in, but I won't be in a hurry to get back here.

This spot was recommended by a friend for my wedding reception on a December weekend. The food was tasty, service was great, there was even live music- hip, hip, hooray! They were great about scheduling over email and phone since so far far away is my current home. Only a slight hiccup happened with booking the band but they fixed it quite quickly, and all was great again. My favorite hors d'ouvre was the lobster corn dogs, Mmmm, but some of the hot dishes got cold sitting out in the room. The location was great, right next to our hotel Poinsett. So people could eat, drink, and dance- worries forget!

Great bistro and sandwich shop. We dropped in on a rainy afternoon, rather dark, even with the huge windows all around. I suggest some indirect lighting for rainy days, to make the place more cheery and welcoming. The service was great, as well as the food!

awesome spot - great Sunday brunch - but a ton of confusion on the grits bar by all customers. Server had no idea of how it worked or the pricing and was pretty rude about it. Good food bad service but a neat place

I stopped here on a recent trip to Greenville, and I was not disappointed. I sat at the upstairs bar because the downstairs bar was full. Jessica, the bartender, made me a perfectly dirty martini. To start with, I had the beet salad which was absolutely delicious. Then I had the risotto and the quail & pancakes. Everything came out at a good pace and was delicious & HOT! I will definitely come here next time I'm in Greenville.

Restaurant by day, bar & lounge by night. The atmosphere at Nose Dive is great, love the outside seating in the middle of beautiful Downtown Greenville. The service was decent, the food? - Well, at least not what I had. I ordered the "Rack of Lamb Ribs over Vegetable Jasmine Rice." Not impressed & devastated cause I love lamb! lol BUT the wine & atmosphere made up for it all. I'll definitely be going back.

Another unimpressive restaurant in Greenville that was so hyped up. Went on a Saturday afternoon and a limited menu was offered, decent beer list. I got a burger which was cooked medium rare like I ordered, but it had wilted lettuce, a tiny slice of tomato. No onion, had to ask for the typical condiments, ie ketchup, mayo and mustard. The fries were terrible, this was suprising because of the rave reviews of the duck fat fries that they no longer offer. It was like airplane food.

I used to be a fan of Nose Dive. Was a staple in the rotation of downtown Greenville restaurants. The menu has changed, and not for the positive. The last couple times I was there I felt the prices had went up, the quality of food had dropped significantly, and the service was very slow. It has now been dropped from the rotation.

I had the trigger fish special and it was prepared exceptionally. Our waiter was nice, but so phony polite that it was off-putting for me. I don't know why waiters do that, maybe bcuz rich people like to be treated like royalty, but I, for one, am annoyed by fake over the top politeness from my waiter. Just be yourself, be kind and be attentive and I'll tip ya....probably even better. Anyway, like I said, the fish I had was good. I appreciate the outside dining availability bcuz we had our dog, and I also really enjoyed the salmon tartar. Though I am willing to pay top dollar for top-dollar food, I don't feel the food served, merits it's running rate. Served fancy, in fancy dish, with fine-dining visual appeal, but neglecting a fine dining taste. For those 2 faux flaws they get a 3.

I've been here on a variety of occasions and have never been dissatisfied. My go to meal is the chicken sandwich (a major crowd pleaser) with sweet potato fries and an Alagash white. There are a lot of other great options as well and I'd even venture out to say there's something for everyone on this menu. When I was there with my parents, my mom ordered the chips and salsa as an app and we were pleasantly surprised to find a dollop of guac to go along with it. The guac is listed on the online menu but not the restaurant menu and is probably Nose Dive's best kept secret. It has a a garlicky kick to it that could convert non-guac lovers. I've also had the flatbread that comes with Whipped Goat Cheese, Marinated Mushrooms, Roasted Peppers, Arugula, and Pumpkin Seed Pesto. I split this with a friend who's not very adventurous when it comes to dining and she even liked it. I'm excited to try the Angry Drunken Mussels (because who wants their mussels sober and happy?) and possibly the chicken wings in the future. It feels a little wrong to try and fancify wings (red wine pan sauce, really?) but also super intrigued. I've heard great things about the tacos and the burger is solid. I had the boar burger special last time and was very good except I wasn't crazy about the aioli that came on it. I'm not a mustard fan and i thought it was going to be more of a french vinaigrette than anything else. Let's talk about the lobster roll. As a New Englander who also as a general rule does NOT eat lobster that's been INFECTED with mayo I am hesitant to give this a positive review. I'm surprised I even ordered it in the first place but I have to say it was light on the mayo and overall delicious. The only dessert I've had is the Dark Chocolate Candied Bacon Brownie and although it was good, it was oversold by our waiter and didn't blow me away. The last thing I'm gonna mention is Nose Dive Upstairs. You can eat up there but more importantly it's a great late night scene. I'm a little hesitant to mention it because it's at a great stage now where it's got a comfortable amount of people and is a place where you can sit and have a conversation but it's not so chill that you forget you're at a bar. It's a nice change from Carolina Alehouse and on a lucky (?) night, you might have a DMX sighting.

Great spot. Only been here a handful of times and both the management and staff have gone out of their way to be hospitable. Ask to be placed in Mary's section. Super friendly, professional, and easy on the eyes. Best burger on main. Hands down. The only thing I cold really say that's bad is that their public wi-fi hasn't worked in about a month... I wind up having to tether my mobile or connect to the westin.

Wife and i just had the best chicken burgers ever. Caitlin our server was extremely friendly and she was a textbook of a great customer service. Chef even came out to meet us after we were so happy for our great meal.

I really like this place. The food is excellent and affordable. The ambiance is great. Sometimes they have live jazz bands. We tried several appetizers and they were all unique. The burgers are awesome!!

Where to begin this (potentially long-winded) review? After hearing good things about their sweet potato fries and guacamole, and after having made a couple of previous (albeit blurry) forays into their upstairs bar, I decided on Nose Dive for my Saturday night birthday dinner. Our group consisted of about 9 girls and we were seated in a huge, circular booth, which suited us just fine. Right off the bat, we ordered some guac for the table. The taste was to die for, but the guac-to-chips ratio was not. Minimal. Quickly asked for a second order so we could all get our fill, but this time we definitely had to ask for extra guac to even out this little ratio a bit. Moving right along, our waiter, Alex, seemed a little nervous but passed the test with flying colors. The sheer amount of material he had to memorize for the daily special schpiel was impressive. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad, but was disheartened to find that it barely had a drop of dressing and was otherwise as bland as white rice. My friend's fish tacos were delicious though, so I'd probably order those next time. The bathroom is (somewhat annoyingly) in the adjacent hotel, so just be prepared for that. Also there's a $2.50 charge per person to have them serve a birthday cake that YOU bring. Hmm. Now here's the best part: legendary rapper DMX also enjoys Nose Dive when he's in Gvegas. Another waiter came to our table and whispered conspiratorially that DMX himself was upstairs at that very moment, nursing a cognac. We hurried above and proceeded to hang out with the legend for awhile. If Nose Dive is good enough for DMX, it's good enough for me. If I tweaked my order a bit, I'd be happy to enjoy another night at this dt gastropub. Perhaps there will be more celebrities to meet... ND, don't let me down!

After only stopping in a few times, The Nose Dive is one of my favorite places anywhere for good food and drink. My favorite thing about Nose Dive is the rotating draft beer selection. They always seem to have unique brews representing a wide range of styles. On this visit, the food stood out more than the beers (which is saying a lot). I started with the duck confit mac & cheese, which is the best mac & cheese I've ever eaten. The crispy crust was delicious, but the tender pieces of duck just make the entire dish. For my entrée, I had the "take out" ribs and they were extremely tender and tasty. I finished with the Dark Chocolate Candied Bacon Brownie with Homey Bourbon Ice Cream. I don't know how many calories it contained, but it was all worth it. The Nose Dive would be a great addition to any major city's "going out" scene.

The J/J Burger Tour stopped in after the Diana Krall show and ordered the Gastro Pub burger. This has American cheese and lettuce and tomato. I thought it was good but just a bit undercooked. It was about medium rare, which is fine. And I just read a review below which say cooking it MR is illegal in S.C.(???)The burger was juicy and tender and I liked the toppings and especially the sweet potato fries. Only one small complaint, and I keep this separate from the food; bartender wasn't too friendly. Maybe a long night, bad day. Doesn't matter. Be professional, ok? Never spoke to me until I got the check. What am I, ugly, or something? I even complimented her here and posted a pic, but the slapnuts here at Yelp removed it. F*** them.

We went here on September 14th 2013 just looking for a cold beer and place to sit outside to people watch. Found that the Nose Dive had some new beers on tap and the bartender was kind enough to give a us a few samples before we made a selection. We ordered two of the Great Divide Brewing Company Yeti Imperial Stout and were seated outside immediately. Our beer arrived a few minutes later poured into of all things Brandy Glasses?? The Yeti Imperial Stout had a thin brownish head with midnight black color and aromas of expresso, malty chocolate and slight caramel.....the beer was very good and hit the spot! It was a very nice day and we casually sipped our beer while enjoying each others company. After about 30 minutes or so we were finished and ready to go so I asked the waiter for our tab. When our waiter returned we were a little surprised that our tab for two beers was $19 and some change but the beers were Specialty Beers served in chilled brandy glasses and were really good. I'll be looking for the Great Divide Company Yeti Imperial Stout from now on where ever I go. Will we return to Nose Dive....yes!

To me this place is just ok. I always think it will be better than it is. It is decent food but the menu lacks a lot. I have trouble finding something to order when I'm there. It is loud and crowded, just like any bar, but the prices are a bit too high for that. Overall, it is just ok. I walk away feeling that it wasn't terrible but it could have been better.

Skip Ale house and give it a try. My family and I, (family including grandparents and 4 year old daughter ) went to Nosedive this past Saturday. We arrived in time to take advantage of the brunch menu. I had the burger with sweet potato fries. My wife had the Mac n cheese. First of all, we were greeted and sat immediately . Our waiter was outgoing and friendly. He offered to have whatever we wanted made fresh if we couldn't find it on the menu. He also made small talk with us about football and his previous experience working At Disney. Our food came out from the kitchen quickly. The food was very good and the atmosphere was pleasant. I would definitely go back again. By the way, they had several big screen TVs with all the college football games on. So skip the rude ungrateful staff at the ale house and give nosedive a chance. You won't be disappointed .

Went Sunday after church and helped myself to the grits bar! The grits were real creamy and the sauces were really good (red pepper, turkey gravy and mushroom). I would have liked more toppings than just cheese, bacon, onions and tomatoes. Service was good and the atmosphere was exceptional. Next time, I will order something off the rest of the menu. My wife ordered the gastro pub burger and she said it was amazing. Will go back next time we're in Greenville.

Without a doubt my favorite restaurant in Downtown Greenville. Casual dining at its best, I have done the full tour of the menu and I have yet to be disappointed. Always a pleasure to come in every month to sample their Spotlight Brewery. $3-$5 bottles of some delicious craft beers. Service is always fantastic with consistent and attentive wait staff. I recommend the Pub Egg for an appetizer, with any sandwich on the menu worth a try as your main course as well. You just cannot beat the quality at this price. Tip: Get a side of honey mustard. It's made in house and absolutely delicious.

Updated Review: After a horrible first visit this place really redeemed itself. First the manager Mary sent me email apologizing for the horrible service and sent me a $50 voucher to come back and try the food. After we were seated she actually came by our table, introduced herself and apologized again and said she was going to send us out a couple dishes on the house. She thoughtfully asked if we had any dietary restrictions and accommodated my vegetarian preference. She sent out the risotto and a beet salad...both were AMAZING! My husband (who isn't usually a salad lover) said he would return for that beet salad alone. For dinner my husband got the fish and chips which he said were good. Since they didn't have any vegetarian entrees on the menu I ordered some sides as my meal. I had the potato gnocchi, which were different than I expected (in a good way). I also got the butternut squash soup which was smooth and creamy. I do wish they had at least one vegetarian/vegan dish on the menu but that would be my only critique. I am looking forward to returning again soon and really want to try their brunch menu as well. Original Review: This is the only restaurant I have ever walked out of. They were not even busy for lunch and after 20 min of sitting there with no one taking our order I went and asked the hostess to find our server as we had been sitting there for 20 min...she apologized and I saw her walk into the back...after another 8 min of sitting there with no one coming to take our order again and tables around us getting seated and their orders being taken by our server (and other servers) we ended up getting up and leaving...it was just getting ridiculous and we were starving...we walked down to High Cotton where the atmosphere was nicer, food was better and service was awesome.

I'm done with this place when it comes to food. My most recent experience was a Thursday lunch meal. I ordered the "famous" fish and chips for $14 what came out if the kitchen was a 5 oz oversized fish nugget in thick breeding accompanied by over cooked fries and a bland lump of cold slaw. I sent the meal back, tipped my server and said goodbye to the Nose Dive.

I won't go back to the Nose Dive. We came in on a rainy weekday for dinner a few months back. We ordered some wine and the scotch egg to start. The service was slow and it seemed like there was only one waitress working the whole room. She was doing the bet she could but it made our experience less than good. The scotch egg was ok but over cooked. After ordering our dinner I saw something out of the corner of my eye run across the floor and under our table. At that time my wife picked up her foot and stepped on a large roach or palmetto bug. She had seen it also. After I tracked down our waitress and asked for a manager, the table next to us pointed out a second one running near the stage. The manager cleaned up the dead bug under our table. She didn't offer to cover our meal and at that point we didn't want it anyway. We canceled our dinner order and left. I understand bugs happen but what really made this a 1 star experience is how management handled the situation. She told us it was because it was raining outside and the bugs come in out of the rain. Seriously? Instead of offering to make it right, she just made excuses. We will never go back.

This rating averages the 4 dinner visits we've made. Last night,a busy Friday, I called at 730 looking for a table for 4. We were at nearby Northampton Wines at a tasting. The maitre'D said if we came now it would be ok, he needed Table in question for a 9 PM reservation. We arrived by 7:40 and left at 9:05 with just one round of drinks and entrees. The kitchen was badly back logged ! On the positive side they had the positive touch of the Table 301 beverage team with an excellent choice of wines, beers and spirits I had the house salad with a wonderful avocado vinaigrette to start followed by the fish and chips; tasty but lacking moisture (perhaps sitting under lamps at pickup station). We had other guests with us who were first time diners, all the convincing we tried about much better experiences we had fell on deaf ears. Would give them another go on a Wednesday but not when this busy without a reco. ...fortunately the 9 oclockers were late.

Figured we'd give this a try while in the area for the weekend. Really enjoyed the oxtail cheese fries as a starter; great flavor and tender meat. For my entree I tried the lettuce wraps with Korean BBQ. I was disappointed to be given corn tortillas instead, but I just ate the filling of BBQ and kimchi by itself and that was tasty. My boyfriend got the fish and chips, but he wasn't impressed with that dish. For dessert we split the dark chocolate candied bacon brownie with bourbon ice cream on top and that was absolutely delicious. It was my first time trying bacon in a dessert, but it didn't disappoint. Service was friendly, but ask not to be seated near the kitchen, as it's rather noisy and distracting.

I've been here twice both times for brunch. Has been amazing and has become one of my favorites in downtown Greenville. Food: I have had the shrimp diavolo and salad nicoise. Both were very delicious. My husband has had a potato hash and steak and egg burrito and said they were both phenomenal. Beer very good too. They have a different set on tap each visit! Food both times was brought out very quickly and was the perfect temperature. Service: on point and knowledgeable. Speedy, timely, but never rushed. Atmosphere: one time we went there was a singer and guitar player. Other time there wasn't. Place is over nicely decorated. Lots of 'nose' pictures :). There is also a place to sit outside on the nice Greenville sidewalks. You can bring your doggie to sit in outside seating and they will give her or him a bowl off water. Overall an awesome gastropub! A great, affordable place at any time of day!

Disappointed with the fish tacos. We've had them many times (they've always been very good) but were told there is a new chef so the dishes/recipes have changed a bit. Actually, in a week or two our server said they were going to come off the menu completely. Sad to see them go. Head to Takosushi for good tacos.

Brunch was solid, but nothing terribly special. To start, the restaurant is in downtown Greenville, which was really nice. The restaurant space was cozy, with a small eating area. It felt slightly larger than it actually was because the floor-to-ceiling glass windows filled the room with tons of natural light. There's live music during brunch, and the performer had a pleasant voice (think John Mayer-- and, yes, he even sang some of his tunes). The service is friendly but slow. About 10 minutes lapsed from the time we were greeted and brought water until the time our order was taken. We ordered the grits buffet, which consisted of a large covered serving dish of grits with small bowls of cheddar cheese, tomatoes, onions, bacon, and jalapenos. There were more savory options to add to your grits should you desire: cream of broccoli soup, veal gravy, and one other that I forget. The quality of the grits on their own was moderate, and there was nothing terribly clever about the options to dress them up. They were good but not outstanding. For the main dish, we decided to order and split the chicken macaroni and cheese (which was a breakfast item because it had two poached eggs on top of it?) and chicken chilaquiles (also, breakfast because there was a fried egg on top of it?). The macaroni was decent, complete with four small pieces of fried chicken skin on each corner of the dish, but it was reminiscent of most other macaronis I've had: really heavy and cheesy, but lacking in flavor. The chipotle salsa in the chilaquiles gave the chicken a wonderful flavor, but the tortillas laid beneath it quickly became soggy. Both dishes were quite large, and we couldn't finish either. We inadvertently didn't eat one of the poached egg yolks in the macaroni and cheese (partly because we were full and partly because it was overcooked). After our waiter collected our plates, took our cards, and brought our receipts, he surprised us by bringing an Oreo tart. We hadn't even mentioned anything about the egg yolk, but he said he noticed it was overdone and offered us dessert as an apology. That was really kind of him! The Oreo tart, though, wasn't really fantastic-- just really overly sweet, and the whipped cream on top had an unfortunate freezer-burn flavor. Overall, I'd describe brunch here in the following ways: slow but with kind service, really heavy food options (almost too heavy to be considered breakfast/brunch), and B-grade dishes both in flavor and construction. We enjoyed our meal, but it wasn't anything to write home about.

Love the atmosphere at Nose Dive, and will def. go back in the future. However, I will try something other than the pathetic lobster roll. It was positively awful! About 3 Tablespoons of Lobster salad served on a 1.5 x 3 inch white bread "roll". I was hoping for something much better. The other things our table ordered were amazing though! Best sweet potato fries in the world, they taste like funnel cake! The crab pretzel was good, and the special (octopus) was also better than expected. I look forward to going back, and perhaps trying the scotch eggs. The service was also spot on, even if the drinks from the bar were a little slow. Our server was very knowledgeable about both the beer and the food.

My wife and I have been here on a couple of occasions and both times coming away wanting to try more. To start out with, I must say that we have only been on Sunday Brunch and have not tried the regular menu as of yet. Each time we have gone, we have been greeted with warm smiles and hellos and quick server attention. While I know they are proud of their specials, they go over them in such detail, that I almost feel bad ordering something else and this has happened on both occasions. While I am all for hearing about the specials, the 10 minute intro and descriptions is a lot to take in on Sunday Brunch. Both times we have gone, we have enjoyed their all you can eat grit bar. Some of the best grits I have ever had and they have a few toppings for you to choose from that you can add on your own. For $6 its quite a bargain. The pulled pork add-on was very good, and works well with the grits. While the pork does come out plain (no sauce) it is definitely smoked and works great in the grits or with them. The muffin of the day is always a treat. Moist, large enough to enjoy and ridiculously tasty. Service (outside of special lectures) has always been great and right on top of things. One of the only other "issues" is the live music on Sundays. Nothing wrong with the music mind you, but it does get rather loud. All in all, its a place we look forward to going to many more times.

This would have easily gotten five stars if not for two things 1) The bartender was unattentive and made me lose my appetite more than once. For whatever reason he was sweating profusely and wiping it off on this rag that he kept on the bar. It was just gross. Not only that, he served my drink with a bug in it. 2) The food was incredible, tasted great, but it seems a bit ridiculous to me that the pate and cheese plate came with two very thin small pieces of crostini. There were mounds of pate and spread, but the ratio was wayyyyy off. The saving grace was mos def the bacon brownie - and when they say bacon, boy its got bacon, big chunks of it. They don't mess around. It was by far the best part of the entire meal.

Overwhelmed and under served. Unfortunately, the Nose Dive name is apt for our service to tonight. Food late, friends never got their food. Never got the water I ordered with my cocktail. Got the bill before i was done having drinks. Just too much for the staff to handle.

Outstanding!! Best burger around and the duck fat french fries are to die for! Service was good, very friendly and efficient. Tried the bacon brownie with honey bourbon ice cream and while I now know I am a bacon purist, want my bacon the way God intended, served next to eggs or pancakes or with lettuce and tomato, the brownie was good but not my cup of tea. Nice fun place with great prices, eclectic menu, outside dining and good service.

I have been here once and it was pretty early in the year (2011), so things may have changed since then. My girlfriend and I went because we learned that some of their entrees (owner is quick to respond to emails) are vegan. I had the veggie pho and my girlfriend had the veggie burger. Both were good, but I think the pho was a bit overpriced at $14 for basically a giant bowl of vegetable soup. But its vegan, so I shouldn't complain too much. The veggie burger was great. Will definitely be trying that next time I go here.

This place is impressive. I've eaten the burger of the day and the Korean tacos. Each time, the service has been fast, the service friendly, the atmosphere pleasant and the food insanely good. A little pricey but so is every other downtown eatery - the difference being Nose Dive matches the price with quality. Love it! Also , Leah makes you feel like a long lost family member, she rocks!

The service here sucks. I've been twice, and have waited forever for drinks, forever for the server to take our order, forever to get our food. The first time we ate here it was for lunch and we didn't get out of there for 1.5 hrs. which is crazy. It was during the week and there weren't many people there, but they call it a "lunch hour" for a reason and I'm pretty sure this isn't news to anyone including the employees at Nose Dive. So, we went there last night for an early dinner, again, service sucked, they never took empty plates away and by the time we left our table was completely crowded with empty dishes AND we had to put dishes on the floor. As far as the food, the soft pretzel with crab meat and cheese was awesome. Everything else was so so. Won't be going here ever again, there's way too many good places to eat in downtown Greenville, to ever waste time or money here again.

This place came very highly recommended by my cousin, who lives in Greenville. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The decor and the staff were very inviting and attentive to my needs. The food was extremely good. I got the special, which was a massive Buffalo Fried Oyster Po Boy topped with Blue Cheese Coleslaw. Absolutely delicious. My girlfriend had the Ox Tail Tacos and based off of my one bite, they were also delicious. My only complaint is the beer menu. It is hard to follow. I would recommend dedicating the expansive beer selection to a separate, smaller insert. You could spend more time selecting a beverage than food in the menu's current incarnation.

I have been here a few times and always enjoy it (one of which was New Years Eve). They have interesting twists on food (hence a gastro pub) at very reasonable prices. This is only the second place that I have seen Scotch Eggs which were really good. They have Fajita-style plates but with different meats and sauces (like with pumpkin). The banh mi Vietnamese sandwich is very tasty. There are specials on beers and wines (featuring local breweries). And of course, they like to work-in candied bacon into the desserts....just sayin. Finally, I was impressed because they carried a somewhat obscure rye bourbon I like. They do have some sort of Happy Hour if you sit at the bar but I don't know the details because I've always sat at a table.

What a treat! My mom and I strolled down Main Street, perusing menus. We came across Nose Dive and their blackboard specials of the day. We knew our stroll had ended. We started our lunch with the Tap wine. This was a first for me, and being a current resident of Northern California, I was a bit skeptical. However, we thoroughly enjoyed the Sauvignon blanc. It was perfect for a warm day. Our appetizer was the mussels with a ginger broth. They were perfectly cooked and very tasty. We followed that with the special of the day, an Oysters Rockefeller salad. The romaine had been grilled, the croutons were made from grits, the oysters were lightly fried, and the dressing was the Rockefeller part of the dish. It was really delicious. Our waitress (sorry, her name escapes me) was perfectly attentive. I liked that it wasn't too stuffy but the quality was spot on.

Food was good and the servers really tried to be great. For a Friday night it seemed a tad understaffed relative to the crowd. Our burger was undercooked but they graciously fixed, and the keg was out and so I switched beers. Again, they did everything to make this right. The only l complaint I have was that it was super noisy. That may have been due to several large groups. Overall, it was good and I will try it again down the road.

The food her was fantastic at brunch. Had a hometown fry, basically an omelet with fried oysters, bacon, and spicy sauce. 10 bucks and it was damn tasty. The beer is expensive ($6-9 for a craft brew, 350 domestic). So, I would probably drink somewhere else.

We usually love this place for the atmosphere and unique, fresh menu. Unfortunately, my last experience wasn't the best. Our service took long...and this was for lunch. My glass was cracked and the blue cheese on my salad was very odd. It tasted old and very bad. I hope this place isn't going down hill...we usually love it!

Nice location, but the food is not impressive. I got the fish tacos, which were incredibly bland. The salsa that came with them just tasted like vinegar. We came here around a quarter to twelve, and even though it was pretty empty, we couldn't even hear each other over the blaring music. I was surprised at how bad it was considering it is operated by the same people as Soby's.

Great restaurant! Food was great and the service was phenomenal. Their specialty is burgers and they have a unique daily burger (when we were there it was an Italian burger). Husband had the daily burger and said, "This gets better the more I eat of it!" I had the tacos southwestern style with beer battered cod and was in heaven. Try the dark chocolate candied bacon brownie. It's pretty interesting! Our waiter was super attentive and the general manager was incredibly nice (she gives hugs!). Since it was our first time at the restaurant (and definitely not the last) she comped our brownie. The atmosphere here is really laid back and casual. We were there for lunch, but I would love to go back for dinner or a few drinks at the bar. My new favorite restaurant!

The verdict is still out! We went on opening night and had a great time. The atmosphere is loud but the food was good. When we went back the second time it was still loud, but the food wasn't as good. Some of the sides were cold, but the main course was warm and VERY tasty. My Wife and I don't feel that the menu selection is nearly as good as the other 301 restaurants. We may be back again but we are still undecided.

The food is so so... The tacos were good. The vegetable curry is horrible, no flavor. Ice cream tasted overtly sweet, the brownie was so so... The ambience can use work. The wine on tap was very good.

Ate/drank here once and it was excellent. SUPERB bar staff and excellent values if you read the menu and enjoy beer. Natashia was my bartender and she is a master of her craft. I got 5 Thomas Creek microbrews, a brewery pass, a pint glass to keep, and a pint glass holder for $12.99. I also had an excellent house salad with steak for about $10.00...that's only $1 more than Quiznos wants for their black and bleu salad.

We came here because my fiancé was looking for bacon chocolate cake.I know. Why ruin chocolate cake with a slab of pork? But he has other wonderful qualities. He got the bacon brownie. Not enough bacon evidently. I had chocolate cake sans bacon. It was below average. Nice downtown location.

The place is situated right next to the Westin Poinsett in Downtown Greenville so there is a wonderful view. The food for Sunday brunch was delicious and they have a great grits bar. The service when I went was subpar and he blamed it on having another table of 11 people, which you shouldn't use as an excuse (which he did). I'd say go for brunch on Sunday. I can't vouch for normal dinner time as I have not experienced that.

This was our first visit and it will not be out last. Our waiter was great as was the lobster roll. I'm from Long Island NY and there are restaurants in the Hamptons that serve lobster rolls. Nose Dive's could definitely give them a run for their money.

Very odd restaurant in downtown Greenville. Ordered communally, and almost every dish was deemed unappetizing by the group. Soggy fries, crackers with canned artichokes and peppers on top, tacos with frozen guacamole, overcooked hamburgers. Pretty much everyone complained. I could not recommend this place.

My wife & I had dinner on February 2. Leah & Scott took great car of us & made sure we had a great experience. You have to try the crab cake pretzel, fish & chips & pumpkin cheesecake. This is our new spot.

I went to Nose Dive last weekend and the place was not good. At first my bartender had an attitude BUT later he became very nice and helpful! The upstairs bar was HOT, I felt like it was 95 degrees other people said 85 - either way NOT Good! The drinks were ok, the booths were cute...overall not a place I want to go and spend my money.

Very nice atmosphere, it combines an upscale bar feel with excellent food. The prices are very reasonable as well. They have televisions around with ballgames on them, and they sometimes have live music. Even with the televisions, this place is still nice enough to take friends, family, clients, etc. They also have a pretty respectable beer and wine list.

I have been to Nose Dive three times and have never been very impressed. The first visit I ordered the steak salad which was just ok. Also had the trio of fries. The sweet potato fries were good but I've had better at High Cotton. I did like the truffle dip that came with the fries. The second time I just had a "signature" drink and didn't like it, plus it was very hot upstairs. The third visit all I order was coffee with Bailey's and the coffee was luke warm at best. Even the coffee refills I and two other friends had were not hot at all. Bleh! Better food is across the street at Carolina Ale House if you can wait for a table.

I'll start with a caveat - we did not dine in - my husband got to-go from the restaurant and brought it home to me to celebrate our anniversary. I was sick, so I didn't want to cook or go out. That being said, I realize there may be some sacrifice in the quality of the food when you eat it out of a take-out box. However, the food was generally very poor. It did not at all entice me to return to the restaurant. The tuna on the tuna nicoise salad looked and smelled like catfood and was the consistency of catfood also. The frisee salad had what seemed to be rancid bacon on it. The steak tasted like it had been marinated in Lipton's onion soup mix and then scorched on the grill. It was too salty and inedible. The lobster roll, as some have mentioned, is very small, although I will say that the lobster filling was the best part of the meal. It was simply done, not overseasoned like everything else. As for the desserts, my husband said the creme brulee was fine, although I thought the cookies that went along with it were sickly sweet. I had the bacon chocolate brownie which actually had a good taste to it, although the stringy pieces of bacon throughout kind of turned me off. Overall, it was not a good experience and I doubt I would return to such an unfortunately-named restaurant.

Found this place while on a trip to Greenville. Our waiter, David, was a great server and knew the menu really well. This place is very willing to work with vegetarians & has multiple vegetarian options on the menu. I had the veggie burger which I usually don't get too excited over but this veg burger looked like a real burger and had an awesome texture/flavor. You'll never want a lame boca burger again. Lastly, the prices here were awesome! Coffee, appetizer, burger, fries & desert all for ~$20...you can't really beat that!

Okay, the decor stinks. The atmosphere is no where near intimate or comfortable. But, the food is so frickin good that it pulls the whole ordeal up to five stars. Honestly. Roast chicken? Good. Lobster roll? Good. Bacon brownies? A couple of the guys at our table almost cried. The fish tacos are a pass. Boring pico and bland gauc, but the fish was good. The cheese cake was good, but the krispie creme creme brule was a major disappointment with very unnecessary cookies (why not donut holes?). Still a five in my book, though!

Ate here for the first time with my teddybear, Andrew. Long wait ( because its good), a bit noisy, service and food were spectacular! Pretzel crab dip is a must. Shared a bottle of Spanish wine and a burger. Skanked on the losers across the street at The Ale House :) We will def come back!!

Fantastic place to eat. Little noisy inside, just from music and atompshere, plus downstairs usually has live music around 9:45 pm. Downstairs is by reservation only, where upstairs is first come first serve. Food was very impressive and not very expensive either. Very competitively priced, usually $7 for appetizers and $12-$17 for an entree or sandwich. Sweet potato fries are sweeter than average but good. Fish tacos are lean, served with cabbage and the homemade guacamole is fantastic!!!! lobster roll is good, served cold and light on the mayonnaise, oxtail is cooked very good. Taste like a seasoned roast. Corned beef sandwich is made local and fresh. Not too heavy on the cheese either. Excellent wine selection and very reasonably priced. Menu is cost friendly, atmosphere is unique, lots of tv's for sports, right in the middle of Downtown Greenville in the same building as the Westin hotel. Appetizers to get are the goat cheese house appetizer and scotch egg. Dont miss either of them.

Excellent restaurant in true gastropub fashion. Foodies will like this place, but a good number of middle of the road America will not understand it. The menu changes regularly and all foods are comfort food. Throw calorie counts and healthy eating out the window. The dishes are made for sharing.....almost tapas style. Get the Scotch Egg.....incredible! I've tried many of their dishes and my only average dish was the Poutine.....good, but not as good as what I've had in Canada. Noisy interior (in a good way). Communal attitude. Great bank of windows for people watching those strolling on Main. Gets its name from the "nose" of wine and the wine choices are numerous. They have a "sniffer society" you can join. I also must agree with one of the reviews above that this place gets better with time. It has become a favorite.

Came upon this place while visiting Greenville and was very impressed! We were looking for a place that was casual but unique, and I think Nose Dive fit the bill perfectly. The atmosphere was upscale but not snooty. The wait staff was outstanding: courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food and wine were fantastic. My wife had the Vietnamese pho and loved it, although it could have been spicier. Admittedly, being from Texas, she's used to food with some heat. I had one of the daily specials: blackened catfish over a bed of cheese grits with sausage and shrimp, and green beans. Wow! The dish may sound a bit odd but it worked beautifully. This place specializes in beer (hence the "gastropub" moniker), and it has dozens of unique beers. We decided instead to have wine. They had 4 wines that were "on tap"; that is, they come from a large keg rather than a bottle. OK, we figured, why not try it? My wife's Sauvignon Blanc was very good and my Pinot Noir was excellent. There was an upstairs seating area that we didn't explore; I think it was like a sports bar maybe. If so, that would be pretty sweet with all the specials beers they had. My only complaint about the place was the odd name: "Nose" and "Dive" don't seem to work well for a restaurant, ya know? But, I will definitely be back next time I'm in Greenville.
