The lengua was amazing and the salsa bar had delightful variety. The staff were helpful and kind to this obviously out of place older lady.

"Orale, Guey!" - I extend this to you because it's the feeling that I'm overcome with when I walk in to a joint so utterly authentic as this one appears to be. The #7 was fantastic. I added a Jarrito (Limon) and enjoyed the great salsa & accoutrements bar. What I thoroughly enjoyed about today's lunch was the LARGE mexican family that came in right after me - and enjoyed a large meal together. Telemundo was on - and one of the many novellas was playing on. Anyone wanting to enjoy mexican and hasn't yet visited an authentic place like this is cheating themselves.

A gem in the rough of Berea, SC. Located in a 70's style run down strip mall plaza, where you may find a Mexican carnival or concert set up in the far end of the parking lot, you will find Las Meras Tortas. Holy Buritto Batman! For $5-7 you can get an amazing, authentic buritto, the size of your head, made from fresh ingredients. No, you will not feel sick the next day. You will feel happy and satisfied. Friendly service, if you speak Spanish order it in the staff's native tongue. They will love you and you will love their tacos and burittos, maybe even a quesadilla or tora too? Do it

This place is the best. It has become our go-to for a quick bite. The interior is very basic but the food is anything but. Carnitas tacos are the best. The salsa/condiment bar is great.

Coming from California and growing up eating Mexican food, I had been in search for authentic Mexican food since I moved to South Carolina. This is the first time that I found it! Their tacos, tortas, and salsa bar is so good. Make sure you try a Jarritos soda when you go in there! You can't get anymore authentic. I'm excited to go back and try more.

Again, it is that unassuming hold-in-the-wall establishment that ultimately brings to my joy in my tummy. Al Pastor Tortas is HUMUNGOUS and delicious. I did have some issues regarding with how the avocados and other stuffing was proportioned in my sandwich ... it was already very hard to work with but some bites had way too much avocado and other big parts of the sammich was bare ... it is quite greasy so brace yourself. Al pastor quesadilla ... HUGE as well. Very tasty and meaty indeed... it also comes with extra grease lol. but it is so very delicious, I dont care. Chips are freshly fried for ya and the salsa bar adds that extra oomph. I love love love the sauteed onions. YUM-O! For two HUGE entrees and the chips and unlimited salsa bar, everything came down to *DRUM ROLL PLEASE* a whopping $12.50. YES DEAR. YES. SOOOO CHEAP!!! I highly recommend. We were just passing by this town in between ATL and Asheville and was pleasantly surprised at the out come. Yelpers have once again, saved the day.

It's legit. I JUST put the Milanesa in my mouth and had to stop to write a review. Que sabor! Thank you so much for bringing the real deal tortas to Huntersville.

I'm originally from Los Angeles and then moved to Houston where there are tacos or Mexican restaurants in every block! When we moved to Spartanburg we realized that the Mexican food here was not very good and would have to make our own food or some places in Charlotte! I randomly found this place and the Tacos were amazing!!!! They have like 6 different kinds of salsas to put on it and it just made the taco even better. We also tried the carne Asada quesadilla and I'm pretty sure it's the most delicious quesadilla I've ever had! It's quite a drive, but soooo worth it!

Been there once for lunch ...the food was excellent, pricing was good, facilities and bathroom were clean, and the salsa and pepper bar was absolutely amazing! I WILL be going back. Update ... I've been back many times, and brought many guests, and everybody has raved about it.

Wow. All I can say is wow. I was in South Carolina visiting family and was referred to this place by another 'Mexican food' place and wow!! The food was amazing; the torta I had was delicioso! They had fantastic salsa and quacamole, their al pastor was fresh and their service was fast. If you have never had authentic Mexican food from Southern California, this is the place to go. You can't go wrong with anything you order.

I don't typically agree with Sam S. 3 stars if you're from SC, 2 stars if you're from CA like me. So if you're driving by then it's worth it, otherwise keep searching for decent mexican food like I am

Delicious, authentic tacos! I got carne asada, my favorite and it did not disappoint. We drive through here a lot and I look forward to visiting this place again. The prices are very affordable, bathrooms are clean, and the salsa bar is a nice touch! Most of the salsas are pretty spicy, so get ready to get your sinuses cleared! Also love the grilled onions you can get at the salsa bar. Overall a great experience!

Our group tried the chicken burrito, chorizo and al pastor tacos, flautas, and spicy pork torta. Very satisfying and delicious for a great price. We were passing through off I-85. The seven minute drive off the interstate was well worth it.

We enjoyed the tacos al pastor and carne asada, along with a very generous carne asada California burrito, which we split. The tacos have genuine corn tortillas made from masa harina. The California burrito was nice--not greasy, not full of beans, the tortilla is the best I've had at any restaurant.so far. It seems like it needs something, though--maybe diced tomatoes or sour cream. The selection of sauces at the serve yourself bar is nice, ranging from tepid to raging inferno. I want to try their torta next. They offer a nice selection of aguas frescas and Mexican Coca Cola in the bottle made with real sugar, not HFCS. I saw flan in the glass case; I may put one of those out of its misery next time. Parts of White Horse Rd. now resemble a Texas border town and look kind of dodgy, but I've never had any trouble. I kind of enjoy the collision of cultures, like two galaxies that collide and rip apart and then their union creates something new, unexpected, and fun. Pancho Villa and Tin Tan would love this place. Me, too.

I love this place! Could eat their tacos every day. Weekends can get busy so be prepared, but it's consistent in quality so the wait is always worth it!

Hey whatsup? Las Meras Tortas is kewl. It reminds my bigs of the taquerias when we lived in Los Angeles, but they can enjoy this more because they're sober. My one big, Dr. Meesie, just got back from visiting his crazy mom (apple: tree) in Texas and said the tortas here are as good as the ones he had there. The chorizo is the real thing, crumbly and greasy, not the hard sausage other places here serve. Great shopping at the market next door, too! My sister thought the loteria games were scratchits. Thank you I know.

I have spent most of my life in Arizona and California and can be quit critical of Mexican food. This place is authentic and as Sam S. said, the best Mexican food in Greenville. The burritos, tacos and tortas are all delicious.

Great authentic Mexican food! I tried the California (large) burrito and the Huarches. Both were outstanding. If you like Super Taco in Clemson this is very comparable. The salsa bar is also really great.

Went to this location finally. Same as the one in Taylors so same great review: This is by far the best Mexican food I have found in Greenville. For those that want an authentic Mexican meal; I have looked and haven't found better. The burritos are huge so beware. The Tortas are my favorite! All the customers I have seen there are Hispanic and all the flat screen TV's have no English programming. This doesn't bother me and the staff is very nice. For those of us that are Clemson Alumni and miss Super Taco, this is the place!

I make a point of scheduling my trips to W. Greenville to correspond with lunch time just to eat here. The food is always fresh, great, lots of it and a welcome place to eat. There is a lot of spanish spoken here as this place is AUTHENTIC mexican food, but don't let the language slow you down, they are more than willing & capable of helping us Gringos.

I am sitting here now thoroughly enjoying a pastor y queso! I am visiting GV from SoCal and agree with the other reviews, very authentic and very good! Will return next month on my next trip to town. And anyone familiar with Pedro's in San Clemente will enjoy Las Meras without a doubt!

A bit disappointed as I was expecting better overall based on the reviews. I took my order to go, so eating in may be better. The chicken and steak tacos were dry and chewy, but the selection of salsas from the salsa bar helped a bit. The steak quesadilla was good but just very basic. The fresh fried chips were the best. Will definitely be back to try the more authentic items (tortas and huaraches) next time and will update my review. This is a very authentic place and they speak little English, but they were very friendly nonetheless.

Fantastic authentic Mexican street food. The portions are huge, and the prices are low. The al pastor is the best I have had outside of California. They even have the bottled Coke made with real sugar, which is a favorite of mine. This is the best Mexican restaurant in greenville hands down.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
