This is our Go to place for great food. We always order the Combination Meal for the best deal. The Combo comes with egg roll and soup. The hot and sour soup is the best. Staff is very friendly and we have been going there over 15 years . We are always carrying extra food home. Don't forget the fortune cookies.

I was very disappointed by our dinner at Happy China tonight. We were first time diners there. My mom got the Kung Pao Chicken and I ordered the Cashew Chicken. Both dishes had peas and carrots in them which I found very odd. They made the dishes taste more like pot roast than Chinese food. My dish also had a hair in it. The Hot and Sour soup was also quite bland. Overall, the entire meal was not inexpensive and it was very unsatisfying. We will not be returning but instead will go back to Lieu's or Oriental House.

This place was conveniently open very late one evening and the food did not disappoint. Even the locals were very friendly here. The food was what you would expect at a good run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant. Decent prices and great food!

I like this place. Work very close by, this is a favorite lunch spot. Pros: food taste wonderful and fresh, great flavors. The chicken isn't as breaded as usual so maybe it's a bit healthier? Cons: Smaller portions, don't count on bringing home leftovers.

Our takeout experience was not nearly as good as our previous dine-in meals. The wonton soup was great. The beef and broccoli sauce wasn't thickened and ran all over the plate. I prefer a thicker sauce that coats the dish. The fried rice had no meat, veg or egg and only a hint of soy sauce. The lo mein had tons of vegetables, but not a lot of seasoning. The spare ribs weren't sauced and were on the dry side. The sesame chicken had good flavor but the sauce was a little thin and the pieces of chicken- usually bite-sized- were huge. All in all, it seems like a bad night in the kitchen. If we had eaten in, we definitely would have sent a dish or two back. At home, we just shrugged it off. I'm hoping they are better next time.

I've lived in Greenville for 6 months now and continue to search for that go to Chinese restaurant. Happy China is NOT it. I got the sesame chicken, fried rice, egg roll, and wonton soup all for $11. Everything was just okay. I will not return. I got takeout btw but when I went to the restaurant to pick it up, the restaurant was completely silent with no music and a terrible ambiance. I do not know how people are giving this place a 5 star rating.

I ordered the "General Tsu's Chicken" at lunch, and it was delicious. The service was excellent, and the egg rolls are huge. I will definitely go back to try more! The place was empty... go try it!

About ten years ago this place was good. I went back last night and ordered takeout. General Tso's chicken and 3 Spring rolls that were absolutely nasty. I know what General's chicken is and this is NOT it! Gross! What I got was sheets of slimy, sponge-like chicken cutlets mixed in a sauce that was hardly spicy (and hardly chicken for that matter). I have went to Happy China on occasion hoping that it had returned to its former glory. Never, ever, ever again.

NOT so Happy China Restaurant! Ordered the Cantonese Chicken and it did not tasted good, no matter how much salt or pepper I added. Sent the chicken back and asked for a simple WonTon soup. Wontons were meatless, I know they usually put a small amount of meat mixture but here it is just noodle and broth.

We love the food and service at Happy China! Great prices and we usually have enough food to take home and eat a whole other meal!

Have eaten at their location on Augusta Road and was never disappointed. The service and food has always been good My favorite is the egg roll, wonton soup, and orange peel chicken. I was so disappointed when they closed their Augusta Road restaurant but then I rememberedl the Verdae location and we have been going there every time we get the urge for Chinese food. As far as I am concerned, this is the best chinese food for price in the Greenville area. Oh, to the writer who thought the cart was strange--what does it matter when you get good food and good service. It didn't annoy me or my husband because that waiter is so attentive and gives excellent service.

Every time I come to Greenville I always try to have lunch at Happy China. Good food and friendly service - it doesn't get any better. The hot & sour soup is the best there is in SC!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
