If I could rate this place 0 stars I would! There was a decent size selection but everything was bland and tasteless. My drink was never refilled and there was a smell that permeated through the room that just smell awful. I made this account in hopes nobody else gets disappointed in coming here. Of you are looking for a good southern food buffet try Green Tomatoes-buffet.

How do you ruin a buffet? You do what these people did. You have food that is undercooked,rotting,dried up,stale,or its so bad you don't even know wtf you just put on your plate. It's also dirty looking and has terrible service. I never thought I could be terrified by food until I went here. If I could put zero stars I would. Bear Grills would look at this food and be like: "I don't know wtf to do with this". And when we were leaving they said "come back again". Hell no! If you have a mortal enemy send them to this place, tie them, and force them to eat that garbage they call food. Your enemy will become you're best friend for life just by showing mercy and not making them eat it.

NOT RECOMMENDED! Wish I could rate less stars. Really hope I don't get sick from this place. Feel like I need to purge. Food on the buffet was NOT hot or even up to safe eating levels. Dishwasher employee was also handling food and carrying it to buffet and dipping in containers. This is NOT sanitary. Considering filing with the city for inspection. Did not see a rating certificate clearly displayed anywhere for public to view. Maybe I missed it, but I looked several places it should have been. Will not come back here. On the bright side, one good thing about it was when I left. I was out.

Unlike the novels some people write for a review, I will keep it simple. It's a typical cheap buffet. The majority of the food is out the can, chicken is dried out, macaroni and cheese looks like easy mac, but the green beans were good. Salad bar has cheap dressings, red dye colored bacon bit tasting somethings, and bottom of the barrel iceberg lettuce. Also limited dressing choices. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Not horrible if cheap food is your thing.

Iama Critic Rating - Halton Country Buffet - 2 Stars 93 Halton Road, Greenville, SC Overall: Is it County or Country, who knows. I went to this buffet years ago and experienced one of the worse buffets I have ever tried. And I have eaten at El Taquito which charges less than $7.00 AYCE! But after my review El Taquito closed. Well, I was stunned the other day to see that Halton was still open for business, and in fact has a 4.3 rating on Google!!! Who are these 7 people? So I told my normal dinner guest critic friends I was going back to Halton for a review. But none of them would join me. hahaha That is never a good sign when you always pick up the check and yet nobody will eat with you! But I felt it my civic duty to set the record straight on this horrid buffet. $10.00 Buffet - 2 Stars I don't remember the exact price and it doesn't matter because you do not need to put yourself through a Halton buffet experience. Just drive north, south, east or west and go anywhere. Trust me, it is better there! Various Buffet Items: 2 Stars - Unidentifiable fried chicken pieces. Wasn't even sure what I was eating. 1 Star - Dried spaghetti and red sauce. How can you mess up spaghetti? 1 Star - I think it was cabbage. But it was so overcooked it was translucent. 2 Stars - Macaroni and cheese. Have you ever seen 1/2" diameter macaroni? 1 Star - Green beans. Well normally green beans are green. Total Bill: $32.48 for three people including tax, tip and soda fountain drinks. Final Thoughts: My grandmother was an awful cook. Yet every year she cooked thanksgiving and destroyed every single dish she made. And all my relatives would rave about her awful cooking. And I would think, "Do these people have any clue what good food tastes like?" Perhaps that is why I became a chef and restaurant critic, so I could spare innocent diners from food like my grandmother use to make. I am telling you that I could have swore my grandmother was in Halton's kitchen cranking out dishes that have no business being sold to innocent diners. Save yourself, and just drive away. Unless you are just like me and have a morbid sense of need to taste everything, even that which should not be eaten!

Not only was the service terrible, the food was horrid. Our waitress spent more time flirting with all of the male customers, I assume to receive a bigger tip. One of their beef dishes on the bar was undercooked. When I say undercooked, I mean it was light brown on top and pink on the bottom. The chicken wings...ugh. The chicken wings still had feathers attached to the skin. When I brought this to a different servers attention (our server was still quite distant), she said okay and took the plate away. I was so disgusted with the events that occurred, I will NEVER go to this establishment again and do not recommend that anyone take the chance either.
