Solid burger. Not great, not bad. The service was very friendly and quick. The cheese fries were just a'ight. Big porttions. Loved the "vibe" of this place. I'd give 3.5 stars if i could.

Wow wee wow wow where do I start? Reading all the review on Yelp, my mouth was watering when I entered Greenville city limits. Drove way out of my way to get to this joint. Here's my breakdown. *Staff- two young guys that more focused on snacking. You can tell this was just a paycheck for them. No passion. *Cleanliness- this place is in the old Smokin Stokes BBQ joint that was here for years. I'm sure it was left a mess from all the wood soot from years and years of cookin up some hogs but slapping a couple of colors of paint on the wall doesn't mean it's clean. The floors were sticky and extremely stained. Coulda used a professional cleaning. Just sayin. *Menu- kinda of limited, kinda of a mess and lacked proper descriptions. *My Burger- it took over 15 minutes and I was the only customer there! When it finally came out, it was hot. I gotta give them that. First bite impression: no wow, no flavor. I ordered the "Classic Carolina". The menu description was their "famous" patty with chili and slaw. Pretty typical for standard southern burger. I added on "light" onions and mustard. There was zero seasoning on the burger. A dash of salt and pepper could go a long way. Cole slaw and chili was just as bland. There was just no life to this creation. Was truly disappointed. Five bites in and half my toppings were on the plate and my bun had disintegrated into a gelantious putty coating the burger patty. *Question- I almost ordered the "Famous Fries". How can these fries be "famous" if they are frozen from a bag?

We really liked this place. Great food. Very friendly. Check their hours before you go because they seem to be closed a lot.

service is amazing, staff is awesome and super friendly. food is SO yummy! classic cheeseburger for under $4 - hell yea! if ur a big eater, get two patties. onion rings are SO good and one order can easily be shared. ordered strawberry milkshake, wicked good. this is my new burger place, love love love! parking tight, but doable. don't waste ur tummy space at a fast food joint or burger "palace", "daddy", "ruckers" or "robin", this is the only burger house! wish they had MALTS!!!

Good burgers and fries. I had the Philly cheesesteak once and it wasn't too special but still good.

I wanted something quick but good for takeout and this place always hits the spot. Basic menu, burgers and fries/onion rings but they are great. No need for a complicated menu

Hidden gem! I had a turkey burger and it was delicious! I honestly couldn't even tell it was turkey! Served with cheese and turkey bacon on top! Service was good as well. Definitely check out this place if you're looking for a great/affordable burger.

Love this place. It's a hidden gem on Augusta Road. I must have driven past a hundred times, but when I got a Living Social deal, I found it. Great burgers, great fries, amazing onion rings and some of the best fried pickle chips ever. It's smallish inside and no frills. Just great good.

went for lunch with Living Social Coupon and was pleasantly surprised. Excellent, huge burgers and fries. Also tried a chocolate shake which was the real deal. Will definitely be back. If only they had a bar this could be my regular hang-out.

I had the absolutely most delicious salmon sandwich today on an egg bread roll and my only regret is that I had no room to eat another one! I hated to see it end. Good grief they made it perfect. And their French fries must be baked because they were NOT at all greasy. I love this place!! My first time here! You gotta get there and order a sandwich; they all looked great too! And the salmon (large piece; looked like a 1/4 lb. fillet) was only $4.99!!!

Wow. Ordered the Double Cheese Burger special. Awesome! The staff couldn't have been more friendly. They must be doing something right as the place was standing room only. Highly recommend. Can't wait to come back.

We had never been here before, but I had heard of the place. We were going to be in the area Wednesday, so I figured for basically $10 off our meal, it would be worth trying. At least for 6 bucks we'd have something in our tummies if it sucked. OMG! It Didn't! I had the Carolina Classic and my wife had the original. We split an order of onion rings (wise move as it is a big helping). There is a restaurant here in Easley that serves a "Whatadamngoodburger" as it is called on the menu. Well, it is good, but Cheeseburger House beats it by far. The service was excellent, not what I expected from just a lunch short order place. Minimal decorations, but that doesn't bother me. VERY clean in the dining area. We love to shop in the Augusta Street area, and now we have a new favorite. The only down side that I can say is that the parking is a bit tough, but that isn't their fault, and worth it for the food. We'll go back and pay full price gladly when we are in the area.

I freaking love these burgers. On the rare occasion that my wife lets me have a burger for dinner, this is where I go. Parking can be touch and go but it's worth it. I almost always get the Californian Dreaming burger. It is the best in town. Always fresh toppings, crisp bacon, and a perfectly cooked patty. This is the best place you've never heard of. You must go. The only cons are the parking and last I checked, no public restroom. Also a side of fries is a bit high but the heap them on. Even with all that said this place is a must eat.

Ate here yesterday. One of the best burgers around. I had the Classic with slaw. The portions are more than worth their value. Great atmosphere. Check it out!

Here I am back again. It's a comfortable place even though parking can be an adventure. So worth it. I've had the double cheeseburger-almost too much to eat- and the Carolina Classic. Both were tasty, fresh and cooked perfectly. Big onion rings. Not greasy. My new hamburger haven.

Iama Critic Rating - Cheeseburger House - 5 Stars 1622 Augusta Street, Greenville, SC Overall: You gotta wonder about a restaurant where every single review, even the un-recommended ones are ALL five star. So Chef Iama Critic decided it was time for all three Five Star Restaurant Reviews critics to visit this old time burger shop. What we found was burger perfection at a reasonable price! And you can modify any burger to match your personal preferences and financial wherewithal. If you want a great burger you can get it here! If you want an outrageous monster burger just add optional homemade beef patties until your jaws break trying to "Master the Monster"! The Service - 0 Stars (15%) Cheeseburger House is more of a self serve restaurant and really doesn't have wait service. We received more attention than most only because it was obvious we were there to review the restaurant. We considered a tip "optional" and left fifteen percent just because we enjoyed ourselves. We typically provide 20% or more for 5 star service on the pre-tax portion of the bill, 18% for 4, 15% for 3, 12% for 2 and 0% for 1 star service. The Food: $2.99 Onion Rings - 5 Stars These onion rings might not be the best rings in Greenville, but they are the best for $3!!!! The coating is thick and crispy. Just marvelous. I wish they came with a sauce, but that is just a personal preference. $6.29 Daily Special - 5 Stars This Daily Special Classic Cheeseburger comes with fries and a drink. we ordered ours with an extra patty for $3.00, which seems a pretty stiff price for on extra patty but the extra beef really adds a heap of flavor! Plus it makes this classic burger extraordinary. $4.69 Texas Firecracker - 5 Stars I can't believe this burger is under $5! What a great deal for a burger packed with jalapeno goodness. It was so cheap we added a $3.00 extra beef patty. Love the cheese and the hot sauce! $7.29 Creole Bayou Burger - 5 Stars Not this is my kinda burger. One of the strangest burgers I ever had. AND ITS AWESOME! Ground pork and beef patty seasoned with creole spices, melted brie, REAL blue crab meat, fried onions and Cajun pesto sauce! This is the burger they serve in Heaven folks! $8.84 Widowmaker - 5 Stars While they serve the Creole Bayou Burger in Heaven, the Widowmaker will get you there! Quadruple patties = Quadruple bypass... but who cares? You will die happy! This is just your classic burger with four homemade beef patties! I prefer exotic flavors but my guest critic the "Burger Master" loved it. (He no doubt will die young, fat and happy!) Total Bill: $50.09 for three people including tax, tip and several minor items not reviewed. Final Thoughts: We naturally talked to the owner while we were there to voice our one complaint. There is no decent signage out in front of this fabulous burger shop, so finding it can be a real challenge for unskilled drivers. We suggest opening your car windows and take deep breaths, when you smell the best burgers in Greenville, you have arrived! Cheeseburger House is one of only a few restaurants listed on Five Star Restaurant Review's "Best of Greenville" list! Cheeseburger House is also listed on our "Heaven on Earth" list.

Come out and support a local independent joint. They have a burger for everyone! I LOVE the black bean burger...amazing! Parking can be a challenge but the food is so worth it. Grab your friends and car pool. Reasonably priced too!
