This was my first time here. It was good so I'll be back! We arrived late and they were running out of meats... The pork was very good and they give you a lot of it! Yes they smoke it! Sauces, they had tomato sauce and as you'd expect a mustard sauce. But they also a Vinegar Sauce, a nice peppered vinegar sauce. This is what you want to put on your pork folks! They do a great job with the pork IMO. The beans were good but not anything to write home about. Now the Sweet Potato Crunch was another story. I really enjoyed it! Disappointed no Banana Pudding

You mention Bucky's with my work colleagues most people acknowledge it in a hungry anticipation! It's merely a shack that serves some good down home hickory smoked southern BBQ. Sure they cook their meats at the main location (off Roper Mountain) but it's brought everyday fresh and tasty! They offer ribs, chicken and of course pulled pork! Their sides are quite delicious also. On my visit I went with a PP sandwich with Mac and cheese with sweet potato crunch! Serving size is good not insane but a good portion They do have two types of BBQ sauce, one a Carolina mustard yellow blend, the other a tomato blend. Both have a good tangy flavour of sweet with a slight vinegar tinge! I recommend you get here early in the lunch hour as it can get quite busy! They have run out of ribs once on an earlier visit if you get here late after 1 pm-ish Also make sure you have a coffee or double espresso in the afternoon at that 2pm time as it's a heavier lunch! Good stuff boys and some good BBQ!

I always try and hit up this place when I'm in Piedmont on business. No frills. Limited menu but what a great menu. Cafeteria style, you order at the counter and serve yourself an iced tea. Mostly picnic table type tables. Diverse crowd at lunch time. Ribs, pulled pork, and barbecue chicken. I believe that's about it. There are combo plates where you combine two items. You also get two generous portions for sides. You can have the pulled pork as a sandwich I believe. I did the pulled pork and chicken combo with cucumber salad and potato salad. Tasty and fresh. They have a red and a yellow sauce available and apparently a hot sauce which you have to ask for. I believe this location is only open for lunch.

I had their chicken and pork plate with coleslaw and sweet potato crunch as my sides. The pork is my favorite. They use fresh and never frozen pork.

Iama Critic Rating - Bucky's Bar-B-Q - 4 Stars 2010 Perimeter Road, Greenville, SC Overall: Having been to this Bucky's Bar-B-Q location several times for business meetings I thought it time for an update. This Bucky's location differs from the rest in that it is tiny and has very limited cooking facilities. They no doubt cook their meats; and perhaps most of their menu, at another facility and deliver their daily needs prior to opening. This is not a problem as I frankly care less how or where they cook their bbq as long as it is fabulous on my plate. The Service - 0 Stars (0%) This particular Bucky's is a pay first, self-serve restaurant and does not provide wait service. As such I consider a tip as optional and chose not to leave one. We typically provide 20% or more for 5 star service on the pre-tax portion of the bill, 18% for 4, 15% for 3, 12% for 2 and 0% for 1 star service. The Food: $7.95 Chicken Plate - 4 Stars This half a chicken plate comes with a slice of white bread and two sides. I ordered mac and cheese and bbq beans. The mac and cheese was very fluid, not cooked in a big, stuck together mass like is so common. The cheese is somewhat spicy and the noodles perfectly cooked. Some of the best mac and cheese I have had in a while, and frankly I like it better this way. The BBQ beans were simply excellent five star beans. Some of the best you will have anywhere. The chicken was also perfectly cooked and the skin was utterly marvelous. But the chicken was mighty small. Compared to the best bbq in the Upstate this chicken is just as tasty, but significantly smaller and $1.00 less. So that makes this chicken a very enviable four stars. $10.55 Rib Plate - 4 Stars This rib plate comes with a slice of white bread, chopped pork and two sides. I ordered coleslaw and pinto beans. On another occasion I ordered the fabulous mac and cheese and bbq beans. The coleslaw was the same preprocessed stuff we have all had a thousand times so it rates three stars max. The pinto beans are another story though! I have an extremely frugal friend who cooks and eats beans every single day because they are cheap. And over the years my friend has gotten extremely good at cooking beans. In fact no restaurant has ever come close to his pinto beans. Until I went to Bucky's! Holy smokes, these pinto beans are practically perfect! The spices were glorious. The next morning I mixed cold left over Bucky's pinto beans and their bbq beans together and had breakfast. The flavors were unbeatable! Five star beans for sure! The ribs were just as good but I only received three ribs which was called a quarter rack. Depending on the breed a pig has 15 or 16 ribs per side, not 12, so while I enjoyed the marvelous ribs, someone else got 25% of my ribs! The pork was a substantial portion covering the bottom of the large section of my sectional foam picnic plate. This was easily enough pork to make a decent sized sandwich. The pork had a marvelous smoky aroma and just the right amount of crispy bark. The flavor was extremely good. Again some of the best chopped pork you will have. Total Bill: $19.98 for one person including tax and water. This is significantly more than you will likely spend per person. Final Thoughts: This particular Bucky's Bar-B-Q is a business lunch only location. They are open for a very limited time each workday. The seating is pretty limited and this place packs out starting at 11:30a. They have limited stand-up outdoor "seating" as well.
