Great food, music and service! We love to get a pitcher of sangria! They never cease to amaze me with their very generous amount of fruit! The food is always sensational, they treat us like royalty....seriously! Our waiter remembered us after the very first time we visited with over a month's lapse between! Our waiter tonight is a high school teacher, very young guy prabably working to pay off student loans. The atmosphere is amazing. Sure it is open seating, however we have never had any issues...like I said we have always been treated like royalty! It's pricy to an extent but I appreciate the hospitality in return. If you're looking for cheap then you're either in for an incredible experience! Either that or this isn't the place for you...just sayin

My favourite bar on woodruff rd. The best to hang out after work, the place has its own charm. It can get busy but I never had to wait too long for a table. Service is always prompt. They have different happy hours with great deals on drinks and food. Good beer and cocktail selection, every drink tastes good. I recommend the appetizers, they are the best of the bar. I didn't really like the burgers, they were not juicy, just not my taste.

Don't visit for lunch! My friend and I took my kids there today and although the food was ok, the service was SLOW! We waited at the front to be seated when a woman told us to sit where we'd like. We took a patio table, five minutes later she walked out the door and said "what do you want to drink" from across the patio. Asked for our drinks and a high chair, which was forgotten (mind you, there was only 1 other table in the entire place) then proceeded to take 15 minutes minimum to come get our order. Which, another minus for this place is they don't have a lunch menu! This place needs to step it up! Cool atmosphere & ok food is the only reason I'm giving 3 stars.

Very busy hard opening with $2 martinis and great appetizers specials!! My favorite has been then salmon sliders and the roasted vegetable flat bread !! Music is loud fun and upbeat !! Live music on Thursday !!! I normally don't eat desserts but the whiskey cake is UNBELIEVABLE !! Try with family or friends!!!

Only popped in for some happy hour brews with a colleague so didn't sample the menu. Good beer selection, cool atmosphere and friendly staff. Will definitely return.

Fun place! Great for dates or girls nights. It can be pricey, but the happy hour specials are what this place is all about, deep discounts then! Definitely the most fun martini place I have been to so far in Greenville, I usually stick to beer but every martini I tried is delicious. The food is nice, too! The managers and servers clearly care about the food and service, which is nice to see in a chain restaurant.

The food was great. The drinks were awesome. Try the honeydew and the s'more. The best thing about our visit was our servers. Francesca and Charlisa, they could not have been better :)

I seriously love this place every time I come I get awesome service and the drinks and food are the best . Best Happy Hour in town . Had a really cute waitress on Wednesday , Anyone who doesn't like this place needs to have their head examined because they are crazy .

Came more for cocktails than food for a low key birthday. Everyone ordered different cocktails so we sampled a good many. Strawberry lemonade sangria, fire and ice, sparkling ruby were all good. Louie's sangria is excellent as well. Honeydew and peach lightening were other drinks I tried at the table and were excellent. Only ordered pot stickers for food, which made a good snack for boozing. Really enjoyed the drink menu. A lot of beers on tap. Everyone can come here and find their type drink.

The food and drinks here were very tasty, reasonably priced and there were a ton of people at the bar. They have different happy hours, which I missed this particular day, that give us $5 burgers and drink specials until 7:00pm. The bourbon selection wasn't very good, but it's advertised as a martini bar and they had the basic staples... Plenty of TVs and live music keep the entertainment factor high, but with so much going on, it's distracting. The people-watching was pretty good; I got the impression that this place has lots of locals. I'll definitely return the next time I'm in Greenville.

It looked like an interesting place. I was hungry after spending long hours at the DMV and went in thinking I'll go for only food. As it turns out it was happy hour so they had draft beers for 3.25 so I ordered my favorite Allagah White. I also ordered Roasted veggie flatbread. So far it was a great experience - very few people since it was odd time and friendly staff. But then there comes the disappointing part! I was sipping on the beer really slow so that I could wait for the flatbread to be delivered. They took literally forever to deliver the flatbread. I finished the drink by then, despite trying to drink as slow as possible. I wanted to make sure I finished the drink before it gets warm. Apparently they served my order to somebody else. But I wonder if that was actually a strategy to get me to buy another beer. Once the flatbread was delivered, I wanted dipping sauce, but all staff members seemed to be busy chatting among themselves (I sat by the bar). I finished the flatbread almost halfway through by the time I got the dipping sauce. The flatbread was tasty but dry. Pesto Mayo dipping sauce solved this issue well. So, despite good food and drinks, I was left highly disappointed. 1 star might be a little too harsh, but it is what it is!

I really hate to rate this place so low, because I will at least say I've always had stellar service - but everything else about Bar Louie is below average. I've been here twice now. It makes no sense to me that a restaurant on Woodruff Road has entirely open seating. It was somewhat busy on my first visit and completely empty on my second; I didn't have problems finding a table either time, but I can only imagine how hellish it must be when it's crowded. The drinks are insanely overpriced (on my second visit, even before tip my check was about $36 for fish tacos, a mojito, and a s'mores martini) and the food is bordering on inedible. As this is a chain I have to assume that they serve the same crappy food everywhere, but also when I had the mac-and-cheese it was puddled with grease to an extent that I can't fathom, and then the rice pilaf that comes with the fish tacos was overcooked to the point where half of it was crunchy. The fish tacos themselves were bland. There was almost no queso fresca in the mix, and the seasoning was practically nonexistent. I think this restaurant would have had a chance in a different/better location, but I'll be shocked if it survives as it is now. Which sucks because again, service was great both times I went there...there are just too many things they AREN'T doing right.

It's unfortunate that I am leaving Bar Louie with such a bad taste in my mouth because it wasn't because of the food but rather a combination of either poor corporate policies or incompetent management. On a side note, I actually met the GM out at a different place months ago when Bar Louie was just opening and we got into a heated debate where I told him that his restaurant was doomed to fail after its honeymoon period due to poor location and its lack of a "niche" in the business. To put it simply, Bar Louie doesn't really do anything extremely well, it has okay draft selections, okay drinks, and serves above average bar food. For more or less it's forgettable and mixed in the sea of Greenville competition it wasn't a reach when I told him then and I wasn't surprised when I found myself eating lunch alone there on a Tuesday at noon just 4 months after the establishment opened while Yard House was still packed as usual (they have a niche plus better location and atmosphere). Anyways, back to my rather unsettling experience here. First, it has more to do with management then it does with the waitress or kitchen staff although the service wasn't stellar by any means. I went here today with my parents for lunch because it was my mom's 58th birthday [today] and she wanted to come here (listen, I suggested Yard House and we would of gone downtown to Larkin's or Roost but we have plans to do that tomorrow so it was just convenient since I live off of Woodruff Road). So we entered the entirely empty Bar Louie around 11:30 AM (no surprise) and was greeted by no one (no surprise - great management). My parents and I walked around the restaurant and wondered if it was seat yourself and after a few minutes our waitress/hostess/bartender/supervisor (they have staffing issues) came out and greeted us and sat us outside. Unfortunately the music was blaring but only after telling her four times to turn it down she finally obliged. Now the food was fine; we actually liked all of our selections. The Voodoo Sandwich was really interesting and being able to add Mac & Cheese or a Side Salad for only a $1 was a nice touch. My dad had Fish & Chips; he felt that he should of received another piece but it was good nonetheless. So up to this point, things were okay and despite the totally dead atmosphere and slow service we would of left sort of happy. But then came the offer of "a piece of birthday cake". Before I received the check the waitress [knowing that it's my mom's birthday] asks if she would like a "piece of cake for her birthday". She initially said "no" but I talked her into it because "hey, it's your birthday" and I thought that it was nice that Bar Louie was offering her a slice of cake (which was very good by the way). Then she came out with the check and on it was listed "Chocolate Cake $9.49". I thought that it was just an honest mistake so I asked our waitress when she returned if she had forgot to take off the birthday dessert. She said "no, it's not complimentary; we do not do that here". I was shocked, more like outraged. She insinuated to us that it would be complimentary yet instead charged us. For instance, if it was not complimentary, why wouldn't she have given me options of desserts or inform me of that? I could go on and on about what is a good business model and what is not. It's poor business practices like these that disenfranchise customers to never come back. It shouldn't have happened but it did. We will never go back to Bar Louie because of it and like all "good" bad experiences, I will be telling several people about this ridiculous, asinine policy. That simple mistake made us regret our decision as we left the empty bar and looked across at the packed parking lot of Yard House. I bet they give out free desserts on your birthday. I know they do at Roost, Rick Erwin's, & Larkin's (much finer establishments than bar food Louie). Well, I guess it's a learning experience; maybe for both of us.

The food and service at Bar Louie were delightful. I had the Bloody Mary, which basically comes with a snack bar in it (bacon, cheese, pickle, lime, lemon, celery). I highly recommend it. The food was delicious; I had the chipotle sliders and mac 'n' cheese and my table shared the loaded fries. I was so full from my Bloody Mary that I didn't eat much, promptly left my takeout box at the table, came back, and they offered to make me a new takeout box since mine had already been thrown away! Kelly, our server, was attentive without being overbearing. I'm looking forward to coming back for their happy hours too!

**UPDATE** I documented my experience the second time around. This place has management issues. If Yelp let me give them 0 stars, I wouldn't hesitate. Here we go... 5/29/15 9:00 Ordered a beer. 9:11 Takes order, no beer yet. (11 minutes) 9:14 beer is brought out (14 Minutes) 9:27 No food anywhere, everyone has empty glasses. Bout 30 people out here (porch area). 9:32 Ordered another beer. 9:44 Sweetwater keg had to be changed the waiter said. Guess I ordered the last one. 9:46 Getting extremely hungry. 9:48 food is here. (37 minutes) 9:52 Pressure issues with the keg. Beer received. (20 minutes) 10:25 check brought out. This place runs on excuses to make up for what they're not capable of and to buy extra time. I went here with my girlfriend and her friend, because they wanted to. In my first review, I stated that I'd never go here again, but going a second time proved that nothing has changed. It's funny, because we went to the Ale house for some more drinks -- and regardless of an even larger crowd -- they were extremely prompt with their service. Management is on top of their game there. Bar Louie is poorly managed and understaffed. It has potential to be a great place. Maybe I'm so critical of this place, because I want to see it succeed. Nothing beats sitting out in the open on a big nice porch and having decent food with cold craft beers. It's a waste of my time and money to go to a place and leave frustrated. **OLD REVIEW** If Sonic started serving alcohol, this place would shut down. Just ask for what beers they actually have -- the menu is a rough draft. It'll make the process go a little faster. Not even that cool fire pit outside could convince me that a doctored up $11 burger with bagged romaine lettuce was worth waiting in traffic on Woodruff Road. It takes a lot of effort and culinary precision to throw frozen tater tots in the fryer and dust all 8 of them with seasoned salt. Greenville is way ahead of this place. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this money trap.

One of the better Lou's I've been to. Garage doors are a nice touch. Bands are decent on Fridays as well.

Don't come here to eat. Service sucked and the burger was nothing to write home about. This is a bar with a good selection of alcohol with food available to keep you sober.

I was in town for a business trip and a group of us guys went here for drinks and appetizers. We ordered every appetizer on the menu and was thoroughly impressed with the quality of product that cam out. All of the appetizers were good but all of the flat breads were awesome. Nice décor and good food must try.

An decent spot for after work drinks. The atmosphere is nice and the appetizers are decent. The food is not bad but nothing I would crave and definitely not anything I would pay full price for outside of happy hour.

Just a few notes on Bar Louie. First, they were out of the beer I ordered, and they also didn't have Brie cheese for the salad my wife ordered. Second, the fries with my meal (fish & chips) and my sons burger were pretty bland Third, my wife ordered the pear & cranberry salad with mixed greens. The "mixed greens" were primarily ice burg lettuce. The band butchered a few songs, but we weren't there looking for a great show... Just dinner. The atmosphere is very nice. The bar is obviously the centerpiece, and was quite crowded. I bet when warmer weather comes, the patio will be very popular. Our waitress was very good, and as a bonus, looked like Kim Kardashian! There are dozens of places within a 1-mile drive. I would probably take a look at some alternatives also, especially if you're looking for a quiet meal.

Went back tonight during happy hour and $5 burgers. The place was crowded and the staff was moving. Unfortunately our server moved so fast we couldn't find him to order a second drink or food. The manager noticed that our glasses had been empty for quite a while and served us. The only thing our server did was take our order and collect the check. His team mates made sure that we received our drinks and food and cleared our table. First time in years we left a minimal tip. It will be a while before we go back.

This was NOT a nice experience at all. First we waited for 10 to 15 minutes before a server came over. He informed us that the server who had that section didn't want to wait on us us as if she was qualifying us based on the amount of a potential tip. After getting in the order for water, we waited another 10 to 15 minutes to see if someone was going to take our food order . By rhe way, the place was practicallly empyy. The server that did bring us water informed us that the menu was pricy and that we should come during happy hour. I guess he felt we would have to work for our food. We will NOT go back!

We had a very disappointing experience here. First of all the female bartenders did not want to help us. We arrived at 6:30pm. Peak of happy hour. We werent expecting a fanfare. But we sat at the bar for 25 mins bf FINALLY a very sweet lady w curly short hair finally took our order. She was the only reason we did not walk out. So at some point our bartender that rescued us left. We were then back to being ignored by the other young female bartenders. We sat with our cc and bill out for ONE HOUR trying to flag down these people before some lady FINALLY got our bill. And mind you the bar had cleared by then. They were chatting it up with one another. And with other male patrons. The martinis were awesome. The food was okay. But the lack of service stunk. Another issue is they allow "vaping". I am allergic to tobacco. The guy sat right beside us. In a matter of 15 mins I could not breath my tongue was swollen and now am sick today because of his "harmless vape liquid". So we wont be going back. Until they learn to treat people better and stop allowing smoking in the form of vape.

2 things you absolutely have to try: 1) whiskey caramel apple cake (sorry, don't remember what it is called exactly, but it is one of two desserts, so i think you can find it) 2) Effen Good Martini.
