Love, love, love the food here. Everything is delicious and if you don't like certain ingredients, they will prepare your dish without them. The spring rolls and the krab rolls are amazing!

If I hadn't looked up restaurants via Yelp around Pelham Rd., I would have driven riiiiight on by this little gem. Tucked away at 1440 Pelham in a brick shopping center, don't let its underwhelming facade trick you - the Thai dishes inside are packed with some hard-hitting flavor. Since it's the dish I am most familiar with, I like to order chicken pad thai when trying out a new restaurant so I can do some comparing and contrasting. I hate with a deep passion dry pad thai, so I was pleasantly surprised by the dish served here. Not only did it have plenty of sauce, it had a decent portion of fried egg (which I'm a sucker for). I wish I could chit chat about more of their options, but my lunch date also ordered the chicken pad Thai and she had similarly glowing things to say about it. Service was prompt. Pay at the front. Bathroom is clean and spacious. I got a sneak peak of a back room with pillows-on-the-floor dining, and I can't wait to try that out next time I'm there (probably better for dinner). If you find yourself anywhere near this little hole in the wall, stop on by and it'll tickle your fancy.

Greenville's best kept secret offers healthy, fresh Thai cuisine. The soups are some of the best you will find anywhere. For dinner, try the King of the Sea which includes a generous variety of seafood including lobster tail, shrimp, squid and mussels over rice and fresh vegetables.

Favorite Thai place in Greenville and one of the best I've had anywhere, even after living in New York, Miami and Hong Kong. Great food, generous portions, family owned. Highly recommend!

This is by far the best thai food restaurant in South Carolina. I live in Charleston (where there are no good thai restaurants ANYWHERE) and anytime I am within an hour and a half of Greenville, I will stop at Bangkok for thai food. Their chicken pad thai is great, as is their chicken Massaman curry, Chicken Panang, and their Crab Roll appetizer. SERIOUSLY, get the Crab Roll. I always get an extra order just for myself.

Bangkok Thai is one of the better Thai places in the Greenville area. It is tucked away on Pelham Rd away from the other concentrations of restaurants but it is worth the trip off the beaten path. I recently had the red curry and it was very good but the best part of the meal was the soup appetizer. I can't remember the name of it but it was sour and had coconut in it so it was the right combination of sour and sweet.

I love this place. If it wasn't a 30 minute drive from where I live, I would be there more often! I keep wanting to branch out every time I go, but end up getting either a curry or the Pad Thai every single time - they're too good to try anything else!

Seriously good curries served here. The jasmine rice is lovely and cooked just right. Better still, I usually manage to scoff two portions with my green curry and I've never been charged extra. Better still, if you're taking leftovers home, they throw in some extra rice with it. Satay is very nice and has a good coconut/peanut flavour. The peanut sauce isn't sickly sweet like at some restaurants. Coco shrimp is excellent too with no grease on the outside of the shrimp. They do a nice sticky rice and custard dessert that rounds things off nicely. Prices are reasonable and the service is friendly and cheerful.

The price was easily the best part of my meal. Upon arriving the lady at the host stand handed me a menu and pointed to a table all the way in the back that I was to sit at. I knew what I wanted right away, curry chicken, and ordered. I wanted the spicy to be a six on a scale to ten but my waitress refused! She said I wouldn't like it that hot so she stuck me with a five. I thought five would be hot but it wasn't :(. Still, the food was decent even though the service was not. It was also only 7 smackers.

Don't let the outside fool you, this hole in the wall piles on the thai food, and they do it very well too. My wife and I had been looking for quite some time for a good thai place, and thank goodness for this place. Not the greatest thai, but for the area, this is where you need to go.

Best Thai in Greenville, period. Favorites include the spring rolls, Coconut Soup, Vegetable Soup, Chicken Amazing, and the Coco Shrimp (kids favorite).

Bangkok Thai might as well be a portal to Thailand. A tiny little hole in the wall near the library on Pelham Road, this restaurant boasts the best Thai food I have yet found in Greenville. The walls are decorated with elephants, gold, and other traditional Thai art, and I wouldn't doubt if it all came directly from Thailand. There is even a small section of seating for people who would like to sit on the floor and eat at one of the short tables. The owner is a sweet, little, old Thai lady who has forgotten more about food than I will ever hope to know. I typically order the Pad Kee Mao, egg noodles with a bunch of veggies and your choice of chicken, beef, or tofu. I got it at a 7/10 spiciness, which is just enough heat for me as a person who likes spicy but not punishment. The Red Curry is also exceptional. The food is all very fairly priced with large portion sizes; I always have enough for another meal to take home and enjoy later. It's a little slice of Thailand in upstate South Carolina.

Hands down, one of the best places in Greenville Food: The coconut curries - especially green curry and yellow curry - are made to perfection. Personal favorite. You can be sure that the chefs/cooks love what they do, and make sure they put in their 100 percent. Ambiance: Excellent. Since the restaurant is a little secluded, you don't see road traffic even by sitting next to the window. The atmosphere inside automatically lowers everyone's noise, which is precisely how it should be. Service: Very friendly waiters/waitresses. Cleanliness level is also perfect. Vegetarian options: Yes - tofu at its best. Pricing: Just about right. Authenticity: Since I am not Thai, I cannot comment on that. But I love the food so much that even if I were to find out its not authentic, I wouldn't care. It's all about the taste :)

Hole in the wall places like this one are ALWAYS amazing! My fiancé introduced me last year and now it's our go to for Thai! The red curry duck is TO DIE FOR!

My favorite thai restaurant probably ever. The food is always fresh and made perfectly. I'm obsessed with the tom kha gai soup, the crab rolls, and the massaman curry. I also am a big fan of the red curry, the chicken panang, and the fried rice. Every time we have friends in from out of town, we sit in the little area upstairs where you have to take your shoes off and sit on the floor. It's so much fun and different from everywhere else. If you're looking for quality thai food in Greenville, this is THE place to go!

Worst Thai food I've ever eaten. Apparently the south isn't the place to get good ethnic cuisines, but this option is particularly bad. Save your money.

Wow, I wouldn't have expected to find such great Thai food is this part of the country, but an thankful to my coworkers for picking this spot. I recommend the drunken noodles.

This is a great restaurant. Price is right, food is great, staff is friendly, atmosphere is adequate and I dig the floor cushion seating area. It adds an air of authenticity. The degree and flavor of the spices is awesome! There is really not that much I can add. It is good food at a good price and in a friendly environment.

This is my favorite restaurant on the Planet! I have been eating here for about 8 years and have never had a bad meal here. Also I have tried Thai food at many other places and they were mostly good but nowhere near as good as this place. The decor is nice here... they have regularly made improvements over the years which is a must. It is always VERY clean. Ask to sit "on the floor" If you are looking for a little more room or privacy. Your legs go under the table so it is very comfortable. I have had various dishes over the years but I always come back to the green curry... it's my personal favorite. Panang curry, Red curry, Pad Thai, and "Amazing" are also excellent. You can have any dish on the menu exactly how you want it... they can customize your dish because everything is made to order. Most items are not very spicy as ordered, but you can have your dish as spicy as you want it. Spice level is from 1 to 10 stars but if you really like the heat order it Thai hot! The Thai hot scale goes on up from there. The soups here a phenomenal... for lunch there is a soup of the day and at night you can order any soup. Salads are also available but I HIGHLY recommend the soup! The wait staff here is excellent... they all work together so if you need anything at all just ask anyone. They really want you to enjoy your experience here. Overall a great place with caring staff and wonderful food!!!

I'm a sucker for drunken noodles so when I read that Bangkok Thai had them on the menu, it was quickly moved to my short list of places to try. They were quite tasty, drowned in a red curry sauce with a bit of kick. I could have maybe even used a little more spice, so I'd be sure to specify a spice level next time. It was a generous portion that lasted me for two meals (probably should have lasted for more) and there plenty of veggies. They weren't skimpy with the chicken either which sometimes I feel like places will do with a noodle/rice dish. The back area of the restaurant has an area you can dine on the floor which sets this apart from the other Thai places in Greenville.

Considering I go here just about every Thursday for Tom Ka Gai, I'd say this is my favorite regular place in Greenville. HIGHLY recommend the Drunken Noodles, about level 7. Any of the "Amazing" combinations are well worth it, too. All the waitresses remember the standard order of all their regulars. I feel like I'm family (albeit somewhat too pink and freckled to pass as Thai)

My absolute favorite Thai place ever, and I don't even live in Greenville anymore! My ideal lunch there includes scallop panang, a salad with ginger dressing, a Thai iced tea, and coconut ice cream with fried banana chips and honey for dessert. Of course, if I ate that every time I went, I'd weigh 300 lbs., but that's because I go so often -- literally every time I'm home, even if it's only for a long weekend. The staff is friendly, helpful, and hard working. The small restaurant is nice; though I sometimes wish they'd expand, I think the intimacy is more appropriate for their business model and dining experience. I've been going with my family since they opened (seriously!), and my picture is on the wall; that says something to me about the kind of people who own and operate Bangkok Thai. I love this place, and I'll keep going for as long as they're open. If only I could get their scallop panang in northern Virginia . . .

Their pad thai is indeed the best in Greenville. Not soupy with fake-tasting, pink goop like so many other places. The tom yum gai soup was pretty tasty too. The green curry is okay, but nothing to write home about. Their rice was a bit dry for my taste, but many people enjoy that texture more than the rice that sops up all the curry, which is what I prefer! It's not the most wallet-friendly, but overall very worth it.

This place was great! Got their Red Curry. It was loaded with vegetables and had a very flavorful sauce! This place came recommended to me and I agree, the food is excellent!

Hey whatsup? Bangkok Thai is kewl. My bigs are fussy, and since they used to live in Seattle and Thai Town, Los Angeles, they cop a tude about Thai food. Thankfully here they shut their pieholes and stop complaining and just eat. The only problem is that the soups only come in small servings. Why isn't there an entree-size tom yum? I want a whole bowl of soup for dinner not just a cup and I don't want to order two or three cups I want a big bowl of soup and don't tell me to order curry it's not the same and my bigs need to eat soup so they don't get fat and so Dr. Meesie doesn't get the sugars so why isn't there a big bowl of soup?!?!?!? Thank you I know.

Stopped on the way to atlanta due to the yelp reviews. OMG it exceeded all expectations. The gai tom ka soup was homemade and the best I've ever had. And we have eaten Thai in almost every city we've visited (many). Amazing that in Greenville SC you would find authentic thai food that's as good as anything I've had in Thailand. Amazing!!

For Thai it was.... OK. Good menu.. Food quality was middle of the road. We had the Pad Thai and Woon Sen with tofu.

I got take out Pad Thai + Chicken = $8.60. Definitely sub par compared to the many other Thai places I've tried in MA, CT, and MI. The pad thai has a red sauce -- not really a peanut sauce, more like chunks of peanut mixed throughout. Somewhat oily too. Thicker noodles than I'm used to. Super quick service and moderately inexpensive.

Very good food, great prices, great service. If you want it like you get in Thailand you need to order "double Thai hot" for those dishes, and they will also bring the normal fish sauce with chilis, ground hot peppers, etc. to add to taste. Family run, 8+ years in that location. Lots of vegetarian options (though that's not my thing...) M-F 11a-2p, M-Sat 5p-10p
