Had the sirloin tips last night while out with my best friend. We both grew up loving Western Sizzlin, but both of us also had grown weary of the increasingly low quality of buffet entrees and sides. We both craved those delightful cheese biscuits and glazed crescent rolls, so we went anyway. Each of us ordered sirloin tips (mine with mushroom gravy and hers was plain) instead of the buffet and we both enjoyed our meals.

An interesting place. We stopped as the lot was pretty full and took that as a good sign. You enter a line to place your order and they offer full meals and a buffet. We opted for the buffet. Once you have paid, find a table and a server will bring you plates and fill your drinks order (no alcohol). The buffet offered salad fixings (good variety), fried chicken, meatloaf, stew, etc. and more than enough sides and deserts. Both of us were very pleased with not only the choices but quality of the offerings. Everything we tried was very good. The waitresses more about constantly refilling your drinks and whisking away plates and providing replacements should you need a new one to fill up. If you like good comfort food at an excellent price then this is a great stop. I would love to go back but we stopped to eat on an overnight trip to another destination. This is a popular place with locals and they even allow you to pay a fee to fill up a buffet take out box. This would definitely be a return spot should I be traveling through this area again.

Boy does this place takes me back. Way back to my childhood when more Western Sizzlin's dotted the map. It's still much like I remembered. You can order steak or chicken and get their small salad/hot bar on the side. Or if you're not into steaks, you can just order their salad/hot bar. I'm not a big fan of their grilled meats, mostly because I can cook them better at home so I just got their salad and hot bar. The food is about on par as golden corral, but there are fewer options. The service is fast and friendly and you pay before you sit down. Overall, not a place that I'd go to often but if I'm ever feeling like a decent American food buffet, this is likely where I'd go.

I've visited here twice since my last review and both times left a lot to be desired. Poor service and poor food. Must have gotten them on a good day the first time.
