Bar service is very shaky. Too interested in locals and visitors are secondary. Too bad considering environment but the owner is only focused on the local crowd and not the traveling professional. My last visit!

I have had many great meals and great service at Victor's but my last visit was a huge disappointment. Went to celebrate a friend's birthday on Thursday which is Ladies' Night. We ordered dinner and the cheese plate to snack on. An hour later the cheese plate found its way to our table. Another hour passed and we were finally served our dinner. Does it really take an hour to prepare a cheese plate? Before we departed I asked to speak to the manager. He hasn't been there very long and hopefully will go away very soon! He came out to see me and I told him I had never had service like this on any of my other visits to Victor's. he didn't even try to apologize. He immediately blamed our server. I find it difficult to believe anyone in the back of the house would let the appetizer sit there that long and not tell the server it was ready. I found the manager to be very condescending. If I was managing a restaurant I would want to know if a guest had a bad experience so it didn't happen again. He did not want to hear it. The best thing about the evening was Ryan the bartender. He's awesome. He provides great service and remembers what you like to drink. I will give it another chance for dinner and it's definitely a great place to go for a drink.

Just left your patio after waiting 25 minutes. Never saw a server, never even got water. Fine dining? Disappointed.

Great fine dining in Florence. Everything served was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Though they don't enforce a dress code, I would have felt out of place in anything less than business-casual (and out of respect for the place, I wouldn't go underdressed). Due to the prices, this is a place I'll go only for special occasions, but I think I'll start making up special occasions because the food is so good it is well worth it. Make sure you save room for Peggy's cheesecake, and thank her on your way out for the wonderful piano playing!

The I-95 corridor is not exactly foodie paradise so Victor's is a welcome addition in Florence. We had a very enjoyable dinner there on the way down to Charleston. The atmosphere and service were top rate, as was the food. The only criticism is that our steaks were a bit overdone (more well done than medium) so I would recommend ordering at least a level down.

I always have a great time at this restaurant. It is very clean and the decor is beautiful. There is a wonderful patio area. The food is tasty and the service staff are wonderful. The Berkshire pork short rib dinner was the best I have had yet. The place in Florence to get a good cocktail downtown, especially a White Russian. Well done, keep up the good work.

One of the best restaurants in Florence. It's a little pricey for the area but the food is great.

Been here multiple times...overall the food is good, but the service is a little slow. Nice location and very clean.

Lovely decor, excellent she-crab soup, extraordinary bistro salad with pecan encrusted goat cheese, I added scallops to make a complete gourmet dinner! Server was quick and attentive. A welcome break from I-95 white-line fever.

The food is good and the service was excellent. We stopped here on our way back from Florida. I would not rate the food as over the top but it was well prepared and tasty. A little over priced for what this restaurant offers. The service good personable.

When you have a bad experience at a restaurant, it's quite rare that their GM sends a personal email to apologize. It's rare that they personally invite you back to give them a second chance, and it's rare that they do any better the second time. These guys did. Wow. After dining there tonight, I've retracted my last review and changed it from one star to four stars. 9 months later. A new menu, and a new staff. Here we go: Prosciutto wrapped scallops Oyster rockerfeller She crab soup Caesar salad Petit filet with veggies and mashed potatoes Creme Burlee The service: Waiter was very professional and prompt. Courses were brought out in proper and timely manner. The entree: This 'Petit Filet' was exceptional. Absolutely delicious. Wonderful quality meat to begin with, beautifully seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The desert: I've always thought Victors cleaned house in this category. Was happy to see the same desert menu with the same standard of excellence. The wines: The menu was presented on an ipad. Pictures, prices, order button, etc...the whole 9 yards. Being a technology geek I thought this was really cool! Their 'by the glass' menu was exceptional. Moderately priced, correctly poured, and in the correct glasses (which says a lot for around here). The Sauvignon Blanc was a delicious New Zealand white, and the Pinot Noir was an authentic Burgundy. Overall: Highly recommended. Given the recent staffing overhaul, their assertive and unique menu, I would truly say Victor's is in a class of it's own on the local scene. To me it's worth the cost. I can't give 5 stars for small reasons, such as not having a seafood fork, shells in seacrab soup, forgetting to offer ground pepper on salad, and serving a world class steak with a blunt butter knife as a cutting utensil. The plating on the appetizers could have been a touch more elegant. $91 for myself including wines, desert, tax, and 20% gratuity. $146 for both of us at the table.

Great food and atmosphere. The tomato soup was excellent. Our server Ryan was fantastic. I had the 1/2 Free Ranch chicken and it was seasoned to perfection. If your ever in Florence, SC make a reservation. The pianist is also world class.

After reading the review about the lemon cream cheese French toast, I had to try it. I went today for breakfast. The French toast was great, delicious bacon, and fruit. Definitely going back again and want to try lunch and dinner also. The owner came by the table to ask how everything was. Friendly staff and a beautiful restaurant. I was also pleased with the price: it was very reasonable for the quality of the food. Great place to eat.

waitress was 5 star. location was only 2 stars. i had scallops for appetizer which was quite good, 4 star+. salmon for entree. salmon was overcooked (dry) with not much flavor. my friend had a steak cooked to perfection but was bland tasting. entrees only get 3 stars. great decor but i would not recommend due to the food. do not mind paying the price for fine dining but this is not it. with tip dinner for 2 $100.

Let's go back to a time when Victor's was not very customer friendly. This restaurant has reduced the menu selections at lunch and will charge extra for a side, other than fries with the sandwiches. However, on the menu fries are listed with all other sides. There is no price variation shown on the menu. It's a pity that the customer service is slipping at such a nice location and such a nice atmosphere.

Ate here about three weeks ago. The wait staff and host were very attentive, and did their job well.....however I ordered a simple cheesburger medium rare. It was served to me charred on the outside, and RAW on the inside. When I returned it, they "re cooked" the same burger, but now they delivered it to me well done. The manager did stop and talk to me but made NO offer to make things right after messing up things twice! They may do other things like steak and such right, but not burgers.

First, the pros: we ordered calamari as an appetizer and it was the best I've ever had. The rolls and butter were amazing. After the appetizers, everything went downhill. We reserved a private room for $300 (did not include price of the food, just the room). The waitstaff was very friendly but we barely got any service all night. Half of our party began filling their own drinks from the wait station themselves. The glasses were very small (kiddie cup size, as is usual in an upscale restaurant) and I received ONE refill in the nearly three hours we were there (things were that slow.) The menu was deceptive - I thought I was ordering grilled chicken breast only to get a roasted chicken leg, and another member of our party ordered what he thought was a steak but received some very thin medallions. Two steaks were ordered medium and they came back well done. One got sent back only to be returned raw and cool in the center. Despite the lack of service, gratuity was included in the check.

Just Devine. In Florence on Business and did not want to eat all the commercial restaurants close to I-95. Found this gem on yelp and was thankful to find that they do take-out. The shrimp and crab bisque is completely out of control with the perfect amount of Sherry and overloaded with shrimp and crab. The sesame seed encrusted tuna as well as the Gratin or equally as delicious. I will be booking this hotel on my next stay and eating here again.

First off, this is not a handicap friendly resturant. When I made the reservation, I explained a gentleman in the party was handicap, walking disability, and inquired if they parked in the rear lot was there a rear door for quick access to the handicap parking. She said," Yes of course.". Not true at all. All of the rear and side doors are locked with signs posted; use hotel entrance. Well the so call rear entrance is the hotel entrance to the courtyard. If you are being told a dining guest has a walking disability you would hope they would understand and not just think about filling the tables. I will say, when I demanded the resturant allow us to use the side door due to the fact the gentleman could not walk anymore and having great difficultly, even with the aid of a walker, the manager and waiters all helped him to the table. But the struggle should have never occurred in the first place. Now if you do go, ask for Maurice. He knows the menu inside and out and can offer suggestions for substitutions or special dietary dishes. Do not order the French fries. They are no where near resturant quality. The crescent city dish is good, and the meat, scallops and shrimps were cooked perfect, but for the price, 2 scallops and 2 shrimp is insulting. The NY strip was cooked perfectly. We did not care for the collards and replaced it will a salad. The walnut dressing was a delightful change for the pallet. Need to bottle that one. The dessert portion was way to large. Would have preferred half the size on the desert and a few more shrimp and scallops. The booths are roomy and comfortable for large parties. Celebrated the arrival of March with a Gneisses. Piano player arrived and added wonderful dinner music.

Extremely disappointed in the service. Came here with my parents, brother, and sister in law for a celebratory dinner, and left very disappointed. The server never showed up to take our order, when we asked for him, another server came up and didn't know the menu. They brought the bread out extremely late. My parents are from Florence and been here multiple times, maybe it was an off night, but this place leaves a lot to be desired. Not sure I'd give it a second chance- would rather drive out of town to the mill house for a top notch Meal or go to Percy and Willys or Mellow Mushroom for a nice hearty meal.

I cannot express how much I absolutely love this restaurant. My husband and I were traveling down 95 to a wedding in Georgia, and we needed a place to stay about halfway through because we have a 16-month-old. 10 Hour drive. Not happening. Luckily we were able to find the Hotel Florence online as a potential option for a place to stay. Since we had the baby, we really were limited in what we could explore in terms of restaurant options. We decided to stay close to home because our toddler was already exhausted from the drive and kind of being cranky, so we figured we would just hop downstairs to the hotel restaurant, have dinner and call it a night. Oh my gosh am I glad that this happened! Let me start with the best part of this review. The staff of this restaurant, although the place is a serious upscale food venue, was so accommodating and friendly to my toddler that I would go back and drop money in a heartbeat if I lived here in the area! The waiter literally brought my son a bunch of different food to try (without up charging us), the dishwasher came by and picked up things that he threw on the floor and thought it was cute, the bartender came over and gave my child an iPad to watch videos when he was starting to get super cranky. In terms of a fine dining upscale establishment, this place was so kid friendly I cannot tell you how much it saved our vacation! And then there is the food! This steak was fantastic. My husband had the ribs which were also absolutely delicious. Cooked to perfection, the sides of the asparagus and potatoes were absolutely perfect. We also had the banana cheesecake for dessert. Not really a fan on my end, but it was something different and totally special. All handmade desserts by a local woman that works there. The cheesecake itself was to die for good. Portions were huge and we had a hard time finishing everything. Overall this place gets five stars from me for being absolutely awesome on every single level - especially with two foodie customers showing up with a baby!

Great food, such a gem in downtown Florence. The atmosphere is great, the ambiance and decor are upscale. Tip: for lunch try the 2 for $9 soup, salad, sandwich.

#1 atmosphere in Florence... Very chic and trendy vibe. Love siting at the bar for late night appetizers. Love that they carry a Prosecco. The bar tender is always attentive and friendly. I also enjoy Victor's for breakfast.

I was in town traveling on business and came here one night for dinner. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a very inviting atmosphere (with a piano player and more). I had a steak for dinner that had good flavor and came with tasty sides so overall it was a good experience. My negatives were that I ordered my steak medium, and it came out rare. I didn't eat part of the steak due to it. Additionally, the restaurant/hotel are in a shady area of Florence, that needs major revitalization. Overall would eat there again, so long as I was driving a rental car and ordered my steak well done.

My husband and I recently moved here from New England, so our expectations were not high to begin with. I had been here for lunch once, and well, it's one of maybe two restaurants in Florence to get an expensive nice meal. We booked 7pm reservations to celebrate our anniversary, a birthday, and our move. The young hostess needs a lesson in customer service. We arrived about 10 minutes early, and she said it would be a while before we'd be seated, so we said we'd be in the bar. She then told us not to spend much time in there and we can't be seated late because they have the seatings times and we can be there too long. (No, not kidding.) Then some guy showed up and took us directly to a huge semi-circle booth. The lighting was so harsh, we asked to move, but he turned down the glaring spotlights, and we stayed. But, the booth was very uncomfortable for two people; you can't really sit facing each other and fit so you have support for your back. Also, it faces out into the dining room, so you have absolutely no privacy. We felt on display. The entire service was bumpy. We had very long waits for everything, had to ask for spoons for our soup, refills for water. We had to send back the crab soup because it was barely lukewarm. The manager/owner came to apologize to us. The main dishes and side dishes came out at separate times. We had to ask for silverware. Overall, it was an expensive disappointment due to a bunch of small things that are easily corrected -- training for the hostess, better supervision and training in the kitchen, better training for the waitstaff. The meal with drinks was around $200 and took over 2.5 hours. We have not returned. It's a nice place and sort of trendy in its décor. But, people return to a restaurant for its great food and how welcoming the service makes you feel -- not the chairs. Florence is undergoing a major renovation and rebirth in the downtown area, and we are hoping that this -- combined with the new medical school and the influx of medical professionals (with high standards and discerning taste) will elevate the quality of available dining establishments. Perhaps with a little more competition, Victor's will rise to the occasion and be all it should and can be.

This is the cutest little gem of a restaurant! We stayed just the night on our drive down to Charleston SC and it was the perfect choice! First off, the interior design is beautiful. Every element was perfectly chosen for this whole building. We enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant. It was Southern and Fresh and Filling. For $20 the two of us had enough for 2 meals, with complementary fresh biscuits to start..we knew from the beginning it would be a great meal! The service/staff is also amazing. Makayla our server was polite, attentive and had just the best positive energy! We also had a lovely conversation with the host Mekale who was equally as friendly. A must stop if you are passing through Florence!

My brother had his rehearsal dinner here and I was flabbergasted. In a good way. I just couldn't believe Florence had such a chic little spot with excellent service and ambiance to rival any restaurant in Charleston, Atlanta, or Charlotte. The food wasn't anything spectacular, but I didn't even care. I was so excited about the atmosphere I didn't mind. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Came here twice. Once was on opening day with my husband and son. The restaurant is gorgeous and reminded me of back home in New York, including the steep prices, lol. Owner came by our table to say hello and out server was very attentive and kind. I loved my lamp chops and my husband and son ordered the mozz stuffed meatballs and enjoyed them very much. The second time I came here was for a Young Professional of Florence Halloween party and food was delicious! Buffet style so we had a chance to try a lot. The only downside was the party room has no separate bathroom so everyone from the party was walking through the dining area or outside on a chilly night to walk around to the side entrance to use the restroom. With everyone in costume, you can see how awkward it was walking through a fine dining restaurant like that. Everyone stared lol. Otherwise, great time!

I don't like to give a bad review but I'm being kind giving them 3 stars. My husband made reservations to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary this past weekend. We were seated at a small table beside the door. This meant we were occasionally rushed with cold air and cigarette smoke. Having made reservations I would have thought we would have gotten one of the nice comfy booths!!! The appetizer, lobster and shrimp tempura, was wonderful! The entrees were not so good! Twice I had to spit out a piece of my steak in my cloth napkin because it had cartilage or something in it I couldn't chew up!! I was't a fan of the potatoes either. My husband and I thought they tasted like hot dogs!! The service was excellent but we probably won't go back. I was hoping this was going to be our new spot!!!

Best fine dining in Florence. A very cool atmosphere in a remodeled hotel that offers great food and specialty drinks. They're also right in the middle of the Florence at 5 block parties where you can Try the outdoor bar.

We went there twice. The first time the appetizers were good, the main meal, just ok. Since they think they are the only game in town, they think people will accept mediocrity. The second time was for my birthday. We arrived there at 6:15 our reservation. The place was empty except for a loud group at the bar. The hostess insisted on giving us a table near the bar. She claimed that the other tables were reserved. Her inflexibility made no sense and she has no customer service skills.

We celebrated my birthday here last night. The food was pretty good but when we got the bill there was a $25.00 cake fee because my husband brought my birthday cake in from a bakery. I was shocked. How ridiculous is this? I won't be going back just for this reason and since my husband is a business man here in Florence he won't be taking clients here any more.

We celebrated my aunts birthday here Friday night. The food was pretty good, but not worth the two hour wait for our meal. My aunt and her sister are in their 80s and did not want to eat a meal after 9:00. We kept hearing our food was coming but it didn't come until after nine. We arrived at the restaurant at seven. My husband got the petite version of the French quarter entree. He had a small steak, one shrimp and one scallop. The rest of the party got steaks and they were excellent. Please plan better for busy nights. It's not our fault you overbooked.

Food was really good but ambiance consisted of a ringing phone and people talking in hotel lobby. I sat at bar for dinner and glass of wine. The Beef Tenderloin was cooked great with tasty mashed potatoes and asparagus. Potatoes and asparagus had a nice flavor and seasoned well. Bar service was inattentive and wine pours were weak. Cold air blasting from an air duct was uncomfortable. Will come back for the food but eat in dining room next time. Probably better during lunch.

We have had drinks and appetizers at the bar a couple of times and decided to try the Sunday brunch. As usual the service was great. We asked our server about some historic pictures that were part of the decor and he filled us in on the buildings prior uses. The buffet itself wasn't huge but everything was quality. They had a small salad bar with tasty dressings, chafing dishes with mac and cheese, succotash, sauteed zucchini and squash, hamburger steak with mashed potatoes. Breakfast items included bacon, scrambled eggs and perfectly cooked grits. There were also three stations manned by chefs. The jerk pork loin was delicious and perfectly cooked. The waffles were made as needed and there was fresh whipped cream and strawberries along with sprinkles and chocolate chips which appeared to be a hit with some of the kids. We also took advantage of the omelette station which had a variety of cheese, meat and vegetable ingredients cooked light and fluffy. We capped the meal off with cheesecake. While we were there a party of six were seated nearby. The women who had made the reservation had a meltdown when she was told only the buffet was available and there would be no ordering off the menu. She went through the management hierarchy and got the same answer at every level. I overheard two gems. The first was her threatening to bad mouth the restaurant on the internet and the second was her husband saying "does she look like she eats at buffets?" The other members of her party seemed more than happy to use the buffet. I mention this because I think the staff handled this woman perfectly. It was obvious no one ever tells her "no" but today was the day and I got to see it.
