Sat in the bar today at lunch. Had four of us and we all got our food and beers quickly. The bar staff was all over our every need. Food was top notch and atmosphere was welcoming. Words can't describe how awesome my experience was. Keep up the good work. That Cuban sandwich is worth traveling for.

The main course food is great every time we go & the mac n cheese & rice/hash are also good. Though I don't care for the other sides offered. The service CAN be a little slow, but I don't mind enjoying some 'down time' with my dinner company. And the atmosphere is pleasant. I would recommend giving them a try; I will surely return again and again!

I tried the pulled pork platter with baked beans and mac and cheese. I thought it was all delicious. The bbq comes plain but they have several sauces on the table to suit your taste. Everyone at my table was pleased with their meals. I will be back again.

This is a new restaurant here in Florence SC. The prices are good and food is even better. They have s great variety of beers to choose from. Our server Courtney was great and had some great suggestions. Thanks for the great Valentine's dinner.

This is new, only open a few weeks. Wait staff does not seem to be properly trained. Had not tried most of the food, no recommendations, had to constantly ask for water and tea, removal of food was slow. We had to ask to order dessert after our check was placed in front of us. Waitress was not knowledgable about the beer selection either. As for the food, not good. My barbecue had the hard pieces all mixed in, not tender. Had to soak it over and over with sauce as it had no flavor. Brisket was tough! The back of the restaurant is an eye sore and the windows need blinds to cover the dirty view. I would not recommend this place.

So this was not my first time trying Smoky Oak Taproom's food, I tasted a preview of their BBQ at the Taste of Florence. All the food I had on the Sample plate was delicious, with the exception of the smoked devil egg, which only contained too much vinegar in the yolk mixture. But today, my family and I decided to visit the restaurant. At the time, the restaurant was not busy, so we were seated promptly upon arriving. The waitress was very nice and tried help us with your menu chooses, when we were having a difficult time deciding. When we final ordered we got the pork skins w/ seasoning as an appetizer and 3 BBQ sandwich combos and a Catfish dinner. The appetizer came like 3 minutes before our entrees did. They were really good, and came out crackling to the table. Even though they were good, the rest of our dinner wasn't. For each of us, expect for my sister and one of my other sides, felt that our side items tasted a lot better, and then the actual entree item. My mom got the sweet potato fries, my dad the onion rings (which are giant), and my bake beans. On the other hand my sister was served overly cooked fries, which she described as burnt, and my second side the hash-n-rice was bland and slightly sweet. I understand why the BBQ comes plain, but even so my family said the pork was bland (like it wasn't cooked with any or not enough spices), and all the BBQ sauces they had were sweet, or hadn't any heat. My catfish dinner was bland as well; I could see a little spice in the coating but couldn't taste it. Overall for us, the food makes the place, and unfortunately we won't be returning.
