I've been here twice now with my husband for lunch and I have to agree with the other reviews. The sushi does need work. I ordered the sushi combo which was about 7 dollars. It came with a salad with ginger dressing (but you can also have soup instead), an order of spicy tuna and an order of crunchy rolls. The spicy tuna was really bland and room temperature which to me says either it wasn't fresh or it was over-handled. The crunchy roll was good but it's hard to mess up imitation crab meat. The sushi didn't have too much rice though which to me is good because I tend to associate overly-riced sushi with a chef who doesn't know how to roll sushi. Still, it needs improvement. My husband ordered a lunch special of Thai Cashew Chicken with fried rice and an egg roll. His food was really good but if you have a food allergy you might want to be careful. His fried rice had a shrimp tail in it but there isn't supposed to be shrimp in the fried rice. The second time we went he ordered the Pad Thai lunch special. It was mostly noodle but the shrimp were big and tasty. I ordered the Spicy Thai Basil Chicken. It wasn't spicy at all but it wasn't bland either. I would order that again. We also had the Thai Herbal Calamari which was good albeit a bit on the extra oily side. Their egg rolls and spring rolls are tasty. There are a lot of items on their menu that I'd love to try so I'll be going back, I just don't plan on ordering the Pad Thai or spicy tuna rolls again.

I have eaten here twice now and have had a little 50/50 with the food. Binto Box is a good deal and the sushi was good but I really really enjoyed the chicken satay and lettuce wraps. Service is always on point! One draw back were the dirty tables that sat around after people had left. Nothing to stop me from going back though so keep it up Red Bowl !

An oasis for vegans and vegetarians! We were in Florence for two nights and ate here both nights because of the lack of other vegetarian options. The seaweed salad, vegetarian sushi rolls and vegetarian pot stickers are all excellent. They also happily take modifications. We asked them to make the sushi roll with brown rice and they did (but it's much better with white rice). We also asked them to modify the sesame tofu to make it without corn starch and they did so. Brown rice on its own with sesame tofu is also very good and the bento box is a great value. As an LA foodie I would recommend this place if you find yourself in this town needing veggie options that aren't just salads. The ambiance is smart casual and they offer 50% off sushi after 8pm which is a bargain.

We walked in and the place was nice pretty much what we expected. Service was slow. My potstickers came out with my husbands bento box dinner. When my dinner finally arrived you could tell it had been sitting out for a bit already. It was only slightly warm except in the middle where the A/C hadnt had a chance to get to it. It might have helped if our server wasnt also the hostess. The sushi rolls were mediocre at best. Not worth the $10 price tag. The hubby wasnt impressed with his bento box meal. And while my Lo Mein was pretty good and loaded with meat, getting lukewarm it really turned me off to eatting here again.

Overall experience was decent. Food was great and our food came out very fast. Our service on the other hand was not only horrible but it was very unexpected. Me and my sister ordered the pan fried pot stickers as an app and the bento box to split for our meal. She ordered a kids meal for the little ones to split as well. The entrees came out very fast but we never got our pot stickers. Since I work in a restaurant as well I understand mistakes happen. We asked if the potstickers were still coming and the waitress assured us that they were otw and went to the kitchen (probably to ring in the app and let the kitchen know she needed them on the fly). After a while she came back to check on is without the potstickers. We then saw her hanging out at the hostess stand and we had to flag her down for our check. The check came and we were charged for the app we never got. We asked her to take them off the bill and she did 5 minutes later. On the way out my sister saw one of the servers that she knew and let him know what happened. The manager brought us the potstickers and apologized. Everything was great other than the server. She shouldn't be waiting tables for a living.

Traveling through town and was hoping to find some clean vegan chow. I could have called in my order but wanted to explain in person that I didn't wanted a lot of oil, sauce or other crud on the coconut curry vegetables. I think they took that to mean I wanted extra grease. The veggies weren't overlooked, which was nice but were saturated in oil. I got through the part of the meal because I was hungry but most of it was just too nasty. Lastly, the hostess was anything but welcoming. Possibly not the best fit for her, career wise.

I'm pretty sure they have poor hygiene habits in the kitchen. I've been sick for two days after eating here. Not recommended. The sushi tasted good but it's not worth the price I paid for it.

To start off, Red Bowl has a unique look of the restaurant. It includes a very good ambience including a sky ceiling, with a panorama of Hong Kong and includes a bar. Red Bowl is what an Asian Bistro should like. The restaurant is very clean, and the staff is very nice. I got the General Tso's Chicken, and it tasted just like how it should be, delicious and crunchy. The menu was a good variety, and featured a large mix of Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, and more. The food came out in a flash, which was good because we were on the road. My one concern was that Red Bowl wasn't entirely a family friendly restaurant. But very close to 5 stars!

I was in town for work and hoped to try the local Vietnamese joint. Unfortunately, it was closed for renovations with a new owner. I ended up at this place because it was close to the hotel. The bartender was decent, young, and good at handling his customers. There are a lot of folks in Florence for work, and some of them just want to get drunk on their expense accounts. He was good at selling and taking their money! And my drink was fine. They use premixed mixers, so nothing to write home about, but solid. I had a pineapple chicken dish that was listed in the specialty section. It was fine, maybe even good for Florence. The pineapple was of the canned variety and was not cooked with the dish, so it was fairly overpowering and the flavors didn't meld together well. At the same time, there was a good amount of vegetables, which were cooked just right. As with a lot of food like this, my leftovers tasted better when I reheated for breakfast! The price was okay. They have a fairly captive audience with limited options, so about what I'd expect. It's a solid alternative to the chains that are in close proximity.

My family and I were traveling through and really had a taste for Asian food. And I found this on yelp, and my family and I loved it! Our server, Dalton, was amazing! He provided great service and continuously checked up on us to make sure we were okay. Great food, great service!

We all have our "favorite" Chinese restaurants. And then when you go elsewhere, if the seasoning or ingredients are even slightly different...well - is it really bad or is it just "different". That is my issue here with the Cashew Chicken. I thought it way too spicy and just not good - but being fair , it was different than I am used to. So a 3.5 on that. The Won-Ton soup was odd too - a great broth, but ONE won-ton cut in half (sorry Red Bowl - 2 halves make 1, not 2!) and a few slices of green onion. Nothing else. And really odd - the broth burnt my tongue, but the won-ton was stone cold in the center. I can think of no positive reason that would occur - but certainly some unappetizing ones! A 2.0, at best. Service was adequate and friendly, I would return, but grudgingly. However, as it is a chain, I would try other locations, order something else, and hope for better. It would be great to have a consistent, national chain Asian restaurant - as exists for all other cuisines in the US!

Traveling through the area. Have a hard time picking places to go, saw this place and decided to stop. I asked for somewhere quiet to sit. The hostess took me to the bar. I wanted to try Thai, asked the bartender for a suggestion, he told me cashew chicken. I swore that was chinese, but either way, I got it with no mushrooms, white rice and an egg roll. Delicious! It came out fast and was tasty, egg roll wasn't too greasy. What a deal! The bartender did have a small spat with a customer when I arrived and was afraid it was going to ruin my visit, but I think he was just having a bad day. I would say he needs to try to be more professional in those situations and be aware of how it affects the other customers.

Not that good. Waitress was average. Food was bland. Would not go there again. The reviews were misleading.

Just opened. Sushi was best in town. Tons of choices. Dinner menu is huge. Lunch menu was priced reasonable too.

Great food and friendly service. A little more expensive than a take out Asian restaurant but worth the money. Try to hit the 1/2 off happy hour before 6:30 if you want to save some money.

I have posted before how much I loved Red Bowl and their half off sushi hours, but I have a negative update since I have been here multiple times since. This place needs a good scrub down! The food is delicious, but it's not the cleanest restaurant I have been to. The bathroom looks and smells like it hasn't been cleaned in a month, and many of the empty tables still have dirty dishes from not being bused. The waiters there are always young guys who act very nonchalant, and seem like they cannot multitask; therefore, it takes them forever to bring more drink, or anything you ask for. This could be a great restaurant with some better waitstaff training and a good scrub down. And some real soy sauce!

the food in general is really good here.. until last week i found an inch long black hair on my sesame chicken meal. so gross. i left 75prcnt of my food in box and i had my husband return my food. the manager said hed give me a credit for 8.68 for when i come back under my name. i placed a to go order and told them there should be a credit under my name and the manager said there was nothing written on the wall about it. i came in there and he gave me my food free but said he didnt know anything about it despite me telling him it was him we spoke with and he wrote dwn my name and credit on the receipt he kept when i returned my basically full box of food last wk. he still acted like he didnt knw what i was talking about but said heres your food. sesame chicken with no hair. smart butt. like i really need to be told that. poor customer service on top of my previous hairy meal.

This is probably one of the best places for sushi in Flo-town. My only concern is that one of my rolls was close to room temp. This could be from improper storage or over handling as one previous yelper stated. I will go back to scope it out a few more times since the specials are so good. They have 1/2 priced sushi after 8 and great lunch specials. I Think Sakura tops this place for sushi though.

My pet peeve in restaurant dining is when a place over-charges someone on the grounds that they have fancier looking plates and slightly darker lighting. I tried this place once. Shame on them. For some crazy reason i went back. Shame on me. Pad Thai, and Shrimp Curry were much inferior to Ann's on Cashua, and the Thai house on Dargan. Their rice was not shushi grade as far as I'm concerned, and I couldn't tell much of a difference between their sushi meat and a slab of raw salmon off the shelf at Wal-Mart. All to the tune of $57 between the two visits, yet serving the same egg rolls that the Chinese joints down the road are handing out for a dollar. Same junk different alley. I'm sorry, but you can not just hand a discerning food enthusiast a side of 'yum-yum sauce' and hope it save the day.

The tuna shashimi had skin on it - ewwww. The roll was decent though. They were out of Kiran beer too.

Best Chinese in Florence... Hands down. Seasame Chicken, General Tso's Chicken, and Mongolia Beef are off the charts. Crab Wontons are a nice appetizer. Hot and Sour Soup is good. Dipping sauces are excellent. A better value at lunch where prices are less, portions are the same, plus you get an egg roll or a spring roll included. I've heard some people express concerns about the freshness of the sushi but I never eat it. That's the only thing keeping me from the 5th star.

The sushi needs work. The flavor was a little bland and the texture was as if the roll was sitting around for a while (pre-made). But the cooked food was delicious. The egg rolls are delicious.

Red Bowl Asian Bistro is the closest you are going to get to real asian food in florence. Located in an odd center with percy and willy and sweet frog it almost looks like a fast food place on the outside. But the inside is very nice and trendy with a bar and sushi bar. Its a great place for a casual date. They offer a great lunch special with some of the more popular entrees. It comes with the entree, your choice of rice (white, fried, brown) and an egg roll or veg spring roll for under $7. They also have lunch sushi specials as well which comes with choice of 2 basic rolls and soup/salad for under $7. The dinner menu is extensive and the portions are very generous. They dont use any msg!! There is a gluten-free menu and the dinner menu has many vegetarian options! all sushi is half off sunday nights after 5! (many people come for half off sushi so come early) Food from the kitchen comes out pretty fast. The stir fry bar allows you to pick all your ingredients in your dish and bento boxes are good too ( both offered all day) All in all Red Bowl is a gem amist all the fried food and msg buffets in town!

The sushi was average at best, but the cooked food was very good. Egg rolls are amazing as are the sauces offered. They have only been open for a couple of days at this point, I will definitely be going back once they get everything running a bit smoother.

Love it. We enjoyed the sushi very much. It was refreshing to find sushi rolls that weren't smothered in mayonnaise-based sauce.
