Lemon in my hot tea! This isn't no sweet tea maam! Wow...probably the lowest quality ingredients i have ever had. The only thing quasi decent was the fried rice and that is a stretch! The sushi badddd. Oh "can i get a crunchynspicy tuna roll." all American waitress responds "uhhh what number is that?" Non entre quantities were fine. But veggies undercooked and musta come from Springfield elementary's reject trough.

TIP: DO NOT GO HERE! I would recommend going anywhere else. I have been in the Food Service industry for 20 years now and have never encountered such incompetence. First, no ambiance whatsoever... Food was standard hibachi. Not impressed. However the main issue i have with the place is the following: A 1:30 wait before we left. I received a check. Gave our server 2 cards. $45. Charge one card: $18. The remaining on the 2nd card. Easy right? Simple elementary school math. To charges are placed in front of me. One for $18. One for $45. ....what? Server was very apologetic. She said she had explained it several times to their cashier. THE CASHIER COULDNT FIGURE IT OUT? I explained it wasnt a problem. Credit both cards back. Pull up the original transaction. Start over. Easy... Nope. They had already closed out the transaction. So find it in the system by the transaction. "We cant. The manager has already left for the night." Yun was the primary complication here. He offered me money instead of crediting my card. Not acceptable. Company card. He said we havent charged your card. I called my credit card company and indeed he HAD charged my card....both.....twice. so now I have paid $126 dollars for a $45 dollar meal. UNACCEPTABLE. I suggested, call your manager, stop lying about what youve done, and get him to fix it. They are engaging in some unfavorable business practices here. I would highly reccommend anyone who has been there in the past or does not heed my warning and goes there in the future, CHECK YOUR CARD STATEMENTS!!! Had the situation happened in my restaurant. I would fire the cashier (Yun)", apologize to the guest, buy their dinner, commend my server Lessie for making the guest as happy as she could. Everyones happy. But this obviously didnt happen. PLEASE HEED MY WARNING. If you want hibachi, go somewhere else. Lessie, if you read this you are a fantastic server and deserve to work at a restaurant as great as you are!

First off, my wife and I both got food poisoning from this place. It's not clean at all, and apparently the employees don't regularly wash their hands since we both noticed no soap in either of the bathrooms. We've been getting sick for the last 18 hours. Additionally, the staff here is rude, the service is weak, and the food is extremely subpar. Plus it's very expensive for what you get. Came here with my wife and a friend on slow night, and were sat at a hibachi grill. Some rude female server (who wasn't waiting on us) came over and told us to move to the side of the grill instead of the center so they could seat more people there. Problem was that the place was dead, so no one else was coming in. We moved, and then our server came and told we could've stayed where we were. No need for that at all. After that our hibachi cook came out, and completely sucked. He was also rude, and did NO tricks, meanwhile the other cooks were flipping stuff, lighting things on fire and getting applause from the diners. We asked our guy if he could do any of that and he said that because the restaurant didn't buy his tools for him, he wouldn't do that stuff. WHAT?!? Finally he started cooking, and everything tasted like salt and soy sauce. I ordered the Seafood Special, and for $27.99 I got a few scallops, some tiny shrimp, and a fishy tasting piece of fish. NEVER AGAIN. Trust me. This place is a complete rip off. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. It's horrible! You're welcome, America. Also...as mentioned in the beginning... There was NO soap in the bathrooms...the ONLY PLACE where the staff washes their hands! I brought this to management's attention, and was met with a rude attitude. Again...REALLY? All I can is wow...avoid this place!

WORST. SERVICE. EVER. My son and I ordered from the lunch menu -- nothing special, just shrimp & scallops for him and shrimp & chicken for me. We placed our order at 12:30 and the food arrived at 1:20. Only three things kept us at the table -- it was my son's birthday, and I didn't want him to have a bad memory, it was my lunch hour, and I had to get back to the office, and, of course, we were STARVING. Our server came by our table just once, to delivery a nails-against-chalkboard draaawwwwwn out "I don't knowww whaaaaat's taking sooooo looong...I'm waiting everrrr-so-patientleee" (right -- like WE'RE not waiting). She only returned once to refill my son's drink -- meanwhile, all around us, tables are coming and going. I asked to send the manager over (who, by the way, stood at the host's stand in full view of our table, so either he didn't know what was going on or he didn't care) -- he never came by. It was the most blantant display of indifference I've experienced, and it goes without saying, we won't be back.

Best Hibachi Japanese food in Florence. Shrimp sauce is awesome. Shows and food prep all depends on the cook. Humor can sometimes be crude and crass so be cautious with young children. Not always consistent. Great for special occasions or larger gatherings.

We have been here twice now, and have had sushi on both occasions. Excellent service and excellent food at such a decent price. My boyfriend and I have left stuffed every time and can't wait to visit again.

Whenever I head to SC to visit the fam, there is one place where I have to stop each time. I developed a love for sushi about 8 years ago, and it has grown into an obsession in nearly a decade. A few years ago, my trips to Florence would be sushi-less. There were one or two spots where you could get "sushi" (at your own risk), but while I'm on vacay, food poisoning slows me down. Enter "Miyami"....thank you!!! Not the greatest sushi spot, but real good! I always get the sashimi. In addition, they have the normal japanese steak house selections as well. You have your choice of sitting at the bar, in the regular dining room, and of course being entertained by chefs throwing knives and pepper shakers while lighting things on fire. This may not seem like a big deal to some, but I truly love going to Florence, and I'm very glad to see that there is finally a decent spot for sushi. This will only make my trips that much more enjoyable!

I love my hibachi japanese food, but i wasnt too impressed by the service or food at this restaurant. I went there for lunch. it wasnt busy at all, we were at the only full table there yet Fthe waitress still didnt get our drink orders right. The lunch specials run about $10. they come with rice, meat, and carrots as well as soup or salad. FYI they dont have ranch dressing-they have a bluecheese/ranch mix whihc isnt good. And warm carrots i hate. Id much rather they serve zucchini and onions like other japanese places ive been to, but guess not an option here. and their white sauce wasnt good at all. and i love my white sauces. anyway, i doublt ill go back. i hear dinner is crazy expensive and i didnt see enough at lunch time to warrant a second trip back any time soon.

After moving to Florence I was immediately distraught by the idea that I wouldn't find anywhere to get good sushi. Sushi has only been a recent obsession and before leaving my previous home in North Carolina I was easily eating sushi at least once a week. There are several other places in Florence to get sushi but this place is by far the best. Don't get me wrong, I have had better sushi on the West Coast and places like Vegas but this place still compares favorably for a little town like Florence. The interior of this place is pretty nice and the sushi bar is quiet and inviting. The service here is usually good. I could care less if the sushi chefs talk to me as long as they get me my rolls fast (some other people seemed concerned about this). Before ordering sushi feel free to peruse their appetizer menu and grab some gyoza, shumai, or edamame. Ask specifically for their sushi menus to get a detailed description of each roll. They have your standard rolls found across all sushi restaurants with a few unique ones thrown in. Make sure to try the North Carolina Roll and Sunshine Roll. They sometimes have unique rolls they offer for a limited time only and this is always posted on an eraser board. Sushi is one of those things you don't want to experiment with. I can guarantee this place has quality sushi that won't disappoint you.

My boyfriend has been in fishing all his life and knows his seafood. The sushi was A- one quality, very fresh. The cut, quantity, flavor, texture and presentation was excellent. The maitre-d of the sushi bar was a most gracious and attentive hostess. Whenever we are in Florence, we will be found at Miyami enjoying the sushi!

So far best bet for sushi in the FLO, in my opinion. The service is always good (especially from the little Japanese lady who *always* seems to be working the sushi bar area). All the sushi rolls I've ordered, which is half the menu at this point, are solid (esp the tempura ones, yum). I've only had a couple of the entrees since I mostly come here for sushi, but the miso soup is decent, and all the usual appetizer suspects (gyoza, karage, edamame) are good. So if you need a sushi fix and you're in town, can't go wrong with Miyami. As a SoCal transplant, Miyami satisfies my sushi need more than adequately.

I've eaten at Miyami's many times and its one of my favorite restaurants in Florence. I often go on the weekends to the bar and sushi area. The management and bartenders are very friendly, though the sushi chefs can be quiet. There are TVs throughout the bar area so you can watch whatever game is on.

We went around 6pm on a Saturday night and while it was very busy we were seated very quickly. As expected in hibachi places, we were seated next to couple other customers. It was very uncomfortable sitting with them so if you plan on eating hibachi you might want to come with a big group. The decor was nice and everything was clean. The chefs, waiters, and others were primarily caucasian or mexican -- no japanese people in sight. Being so far away from the water and fresh fish I didn't have much expectations for their sushi despite reviews on here. We tried the Godzilla roll anyway and while it is a rather large serving, it just did not compare to Godzilla rolls from other sushi restaurants. It was served room temperature and the slices were so thin that most of the ingredients fell out before I could eat them. The taste was alright, but nothing I'd order again. The chef was funny but very inexperienced compared to the others and could not perform his routine properly. He constantly blamed it on being his "2nd day on the job". We ordered medium steaks and chicken but everything was overcooked and dry anyway and were very disappointed. In summary, if you are looking for sushi or authentic japanese food in general this place isn't it. Their food is mediocre at best with everything being very pricey at at least $20+ per plate. The entertainment is good, but not worth the price.

Depending on your cook, the food is good. Be specific on how much sauce you want blanketing your food. The tempura rolls are goooood and the Ultimate Margarita will have you leaning if you drink it before eating! Lol

I'm from Raleigh and my husband and I were passing through on way home from Florida and decided to try it since there were good reviews on here. It really is great sushi. Definitely try the North Carolina roll and the pork dumplings were to die for! We also got great service. They even changed the channel on the TV so my husband could watch the Carolina football game.

Foods okay but way over priced and found a creepy crawler on my sushi and they didn't even offer to do anything about it.

I live here in Florence and have visited many times. Very rarely have I had a bad experience. Most of the time, the waiters/waitresses are friendly, good attitude, and prompt. Food is ALWAYS excellent. Never disappointed. Love this place!

Our second time there and we left before the waitress was finished taken orders. Our first time there was ok, basic hibachi nothing special. But this time was a disaster! You expect a hibachi place to be warmer than other restaurants but this place was scorching. Everyone was sweating moments after walking in; including the staff. Why was it so hot when the place was empty and only one grill going? As we waited for the slow waitress we gave my 18mo son his gerber dinner. As we were placing our order the waitress said she would have to charge us for sharing with our baby. Sharing what? At this point I told her to just got get our check for the soda we ordered because we no longer wished to eat here. It still took her 10. Mins to do that. We were happy to pay the $4 to get the hell out of that place, will not return.

We showed up with 2 of our party of 4 and were told we had to wait until they arrived to be seated even though the dining room was empty. The sushi was below average and very expensive, we even had to ask for wasabi and ginger... One roll was so bad I ask the waitress to take it back after 1 bite, her response was something like "I don't like it either" but when the bill arrived it was still on there. I will not return.
