Visited the Trestle for the first and very last time for breakfast on a recent Saturday morning. I have never had such a poor experience at a restaurant in my life!!! There were several empty and yet to be bussed tables and about half the tables with patrons seated. Our server visisted our tables exactly three times: one to take our order; one to deliver our beverages and again thirty minutes later to deliver our food along with our check. Never a coffee or drink refill, never a word other than "are you ready" when taking the order. Once the food was delivered she never returned to our table! So, when my scrambled eggs, hash browns and my daughters omlette were delivered seriously undercooked and the hash browns so undercooked they were still cold, there was no one to ask, "is everything ok?" We didnt even have anything to drink as our coffee was gone in the thirty minutes it took to get the actual food. We did get to eat the sour dough toast which was good (would have phenomonal if served with real butter but thats all we had. We decided to pay our check and go somewhere for breakfast. I paid our $22 check (for toast and cold bottom of the pot coffee) with my credit card and drew a line through the "tip" portion of the check as we had left a cash tip on the table. Not only did the manager not utter a single word beyond "are you ready"...no usual "How was everything?" "thank you or have a nice day", just "are you ready?", but upon seeing the line through the tip portion she actually looked at me with distaste and then looked at the table to see if there was a tip!!!!! I mean blatently did this right in front of me!!!! This after we had the worst meal AND worst service in history she, the manager made a point to show her distaste!!!! I was floored!!! I promptly returned to my husband and daughter at our table, collected the cash tip we had left for our "server" and left the restaurant without a scene. I have never left a reataurant without leaving a tip, deserved or not and have never written a review- if I dont like it I simply dont back. We never complained and were not rude in any way to have deserved such disregard and mistreatment. From this place I left feeling offended and with hurt feelings and to the staff of this unfriendly, ungrateful little place...an emphatic NO, I will never "be ready" to patronize your restaurant again!!! My advice, have your breakfast at the Waffle House...the food is just as good, and the service is far superior and you are definately valued as a customer.

If you like doughnuts (not donuts)and sweets, the Trestle is a must. Their baked goods are perfection. The doughnuts are crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. Their Long Johns will satisfy even the most hard core sweet tooth. Besides doughnuts they also have cookies, dessert bars, sweet and savory breads, as well as baklava, canolis, cakes, pies, tarts, and just about anything else you can imagine. I haven't visited their lunch store as much, but everything I've ever gotten from there has been delicious. Both locations (just a skip down the street) are charming and fit right in with the surrounding Downtown area. Great place to stop in for a quick treat during a Conway shopping trip.

Almost hidden down a side street in the middle of Conway sits a gem of southern hospitality with a side of country ham. We visited for breakfast and found a recently vacated seating for two among roomful of gingham covered tables. I got the feeling that it was a popular stomping ground for locals. The walls showed local memorabilia but not in a "junked up" way that some places tend to do. ------------------- Service- A (they were packed and food was cooked to order..not re-heated in a microwave) Cleanliness- A (they were busy and yet no food or crumbs) Food- A (I had the french toast, country ham and yes...cheesy grits) -----------NOTES: The servers although they were extremely busy were very friendly. My food was delicious. My French toast added up to about three large thick slices of the homemade sourdough bread that they also sell. My husband had a breakfast sandwich with 2 fried eggs with country ham and cheese on it that he really enjoyed along with hashbrowns that were cooked perfectly. The only downsides were that it was a long wait to get your food (but then again its not reheated in the microwave) and that syrup came in a prepackaged rip open pouch.

The soup of the day was fresh and the sourdough bread was extremely fresh. Will definitely come back!

I had sweet tea, beef cabbage soup, club, and cocoanut pie. All of it was awesome including the service! I defiantly recommend this place!

This trendy little bakery is in the revitalized downtown area of Conway, SC. It's one of those great little areas that so many cities and towns are trying to reclaim and revitalize. Conway, SC may be small but they are putting forth a great effort in this area and it shows. I stopped in here after a long day of errands and I fell in love the moment I walked in. The incredible smell of a bakery is something that is hard to match. Samples are ample here and the choices are plentifiul as well. I went with a Tres Leches Cake and a raspberry-filled doughnut. Heavenly. The cakes on display are works of art and the staff seems to all be hospitality majors. I also tried samples of the Italian Creme Cake and and Apple Fritter. I had to stop myself before I reached the mini-tarts. Everything was delicious. It was the sort of bakery I had become accustomed to when I lived in "big cities." I didn't have time to browse the lunch menu but I will definitely be going back to check out the food offerins. As far as pastries, fresh breads and cakes go, I have found my favorite place. Heads up to my friends .... This is where your birtday treats will be coming from in the future.

Stopped by for breakfast on Friday morning. The servers are quick, friendly and accurate. They really have their act together. The decor is quaint with old photos of early Conway hanging on the walls. The place smells delicious even with the bakery moved to the next building over. Yes, they are so good as a restaurant and bakery that they had to divide their services between two buildings! I had their breakfast plate special with scrambled eggs, ham and hashbrowns substituted for the grits. Delicious! I recommend getting one of their glazed donuts; even if you are to full for desert! You will love the bakery as much as the restaurant.

Once inside this charming Conway eatery, the vibes of Norman Rockwell USA really comes alive. Black and white checkered floors with yellow table cloths and vintage items, such as bicycles and books adorn the walls to further enrich the aesthetic pleasantries. Ordering lunch at 11:15 was a error on my part, a rude reply from the back half of a grumpy young lady was an error on her part. Note: I've been to the finest restaurants in this country, places that could come off as snobby and aloof, yet know better, the coldness of this lass was fully apparent, and apparently she just doesn't get that she's small potatoes. Not my problem, although my review could have been more cutting due to her behavior, but I digress. The tuna fish that sat inside the melt blew my socks off. No Starkist nor Bumble Bee in the mix here, no sir, in fact it was the polar opposite. The bread was freshly baked but not toasted, the same deliciously delicate sweetish bread that accompanied my Loaded Potato soup which was simply divine. I'll be there tomorrow to have the breakfast I set out to enjoy and this time I will have it. Let's see how my second go round goes from a customer service perspective.

Rude rude rude rude rude! These people are the most unfriendly people I have ever seen! Don't ever go during lunchtime! No order! We waited 15 minutes !! Then we were told to get up from our table! We will never return!

The Trestle Bakery and Cafe is a nice little place for a meal in the beautiful downtown area of Conway. The cafe is right on Main Street and easy to access with street parking. The inside is cozy with comfortable seating and tables for about 20-30 people at once. I stopped by on a Saturday morning for breakfast while on my way out of town. It took about ten minutes to deliver the food with only a few other people dining, so that was ab it disappointing. But the food was so very good: I ordered french toast, eggs, and hashbrowns. But while the food was good, the only syrup they have come from individual servings in a rip-open plastic pouch. That is a major detraction since the syrup is equally as important as the food. Overall, I would say it's a nice stop for breakfast or lunch, but it doesn't stand out in my mind as a place I would want to visit every time I come to Conway. It's like a good action movie: it was well worth the price of admission, I had a great time, but I won't be paying to come back to see it again anytime soon. TIP: Conway is the forgotten gateway to the Grand Strand, so don't forget it now.

This was one of the best "ma and pop" restaurants I have ever come across. Meals were quick and delicious. My daughter got the grilled cheese off the kids menu but they were adult portions unlike many chain restraints that skimp out on the kids items. I will be back every time I'm in the area.

This place is just to die for. I am in love with their food. Everything from their breads, chicken salad, to their desserts. I always have to stop by here and grab something when I'm in town.

Repeat after me.... I will have the daily special and a piece of the Italian Creme Cake and a sweet tea. You will hit sugar shock but will enjoy the whoooooole thing. Great food at a good price in a fun cafe atmosphere. Pleanty of locals and everything is fresh. Take home a fresh loaf of bread too.

I was recently brought here for lunch by a friend. He couldn't have picked a better 'homey' place! Nestled on Main St, I probably wouldn't have noticed it, since I was here last night across the street for another reason and I never noticed it. Walking in was very nostalgic to me. The black and white checkered floor tiles brought me back to my childhood. I learned how to walk on the same kind of floor! Four of us were there and two of us ordered their chicken salad sandwich. This came with a 1/4 of a dill pickle and home made potato chips. The chicken salad was delicious and the bread was also home made. It was very thick and delicious. Another friend had a stuffed baked potato which was huge. It had turkey, ham, mushrooms, a couple of kinds of cheese and sour cream. That too was a very BIG potato. The fourth diner in our party had a regular salad asking if he could have a scoop of chicken salad on it. They aim to please, and that's what he got. This also was a very large portion. I had never had fried tomatoes before and my friend suggested I try them. We got an order and we all had some. They gave us 2 dipping sauces with it. I actually enjoyed them and now I want to try to make some. They make all their desserts as well, but none of us had any room. They also have a bakery a few doors down from the restaurant. I want to go there sometime just for coffee and dessert. I'd suggest the trip if you are anywhere in the Myrtle Beach area to hop onto Rte 501 business north and make a point to visit for lunch. I guarantee you will be full when you leave and will not be sorry with any choices you make. We walked around the area after dinner and found some very nice little shops along with a Salvation Army Thrift Store. It was a great way to spend an afternoon and a good way to walk off that big sandwich!

Had a soup and sandwich combo. The soup was black bean, and it was pretty good. The sandwich was a cheese sandwich on sourdough bread. The bread made the sandwich really good. My son didn't eat his pasta salad, so I tried it and it was just okay to me. The girl at the counter recommended an oatmeal cookie for dessert, and it tasted great. Overall my first experience with The Trestle was positive. Not someplace I would drive out of my way for, but if I were in downtown Conway, I would probably go again.

Best fruited chicken salad and pasta salad I have ever had. Awesome sourdough bread as well. I eat at The Trestle every time I come home to visit. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice. Also, don't for get to try some sweets at the bakery a few doors down.

This delightful restaurant was recommended to me after an Interview I had in Conway, SC. The servings are large for a reasonable price. I had a roast beef sandwich which was filled with excellent roast beef. Have you ever ordered a sandwich and it comes out and there is maybe a slice or two on the sandwich. Well you won't get that here, the sandwich was stacked with meat. My only complaint was the ice tea - there was so much sugar in it I could barely drink it. I really can't blame the restaurant for that though, I keep forgetting that is typical in the south - the ice tea comes presweetened when ordered. I guess that is some strange tradition here in the south. So remember unless you have a really big sweet tooth do not order ice tea in the South. The restaurant is located in the historic down town of Conway in an old brick building. There are several nice restaurants and shops in the area so it might be a nice place to visit on a weekend afternoon.

I stopped in to pick up a sweet of some sort, after a photo shoot. I had the Apple cinnamon scone which was wonderful, not too dry and crumbly as they sometimes are . It was moist and loaded with cinnamon, a cup of their house coffee and I had a nice break. They have two locations I believe, I was at the one near the movie house. The seating is adequate but nothing spectacular as is the decor, just a typical small town cafe. But the selection of goods and ample servings make up for any 'average' appearance comments. I took home two loaves of bread which were also great, both sliced with ease, very little crumb and nicely dense without being too heavy. They also lasted over a week without mold or staleness. Great bakery and hard to find one in our area. Most are trucking in their goods, they are made on premise here. Take a walk on the river walk before or after for a whole day of enjoyment in this small southern town.

Hubby and I were in Myrtle Beach for a couple days and decided to head up to Historic Conway. We went to The Trestle for lunch and it was WONDERFUL! I had the bowl of soup and that day it was Vegetable Beef soup. My first bite took me back to my grandmothers kitchen when I was little. It was YUMMY! If we ever are back in Conway we will definitely eat here.

We used this restaurant twice for catering an event held at the beach. The first year we used them we were completely satisfied. However the second year, left a lot to be desired. WE had the cater breakfast and they were not only one hour late to get there, but they did not have enough food. The sent only;y one person to do all the set up, I actually felt sorry for her, having to do it all herself. She said that they had a rush on catering jobs that day. When she returned for the dinner meal, there was not enough salad to go around. When our count came in on the low side of our estimate, we were charged and extra $100. Of course this was at the last minute, so we had no choice, as it was much too late to find another caterer. So if you use them, get everything in writing, including how many people will be there, the time of arrival etc. We simply will not use them for catering anymore.

Just terrific. Got off the red eye and drove directly here more or less by chance. The ambiance of the Trestle could not be more enjoyable. Simple, quaint, nice folks, nice staff. The breakfast sandwich was so thoroughly satisfying, unpretentious, and delicious; I just wish I had had space left for the amazing looking pie...

Typical southern small town place. Lunch was fair, but the key lime pie was truly phenomenol (as good as anything you'd expect key west). would go back just for desert, but might skip the food as only fair.
