EXCELLENT. Exquisite. Inventive. Casual ambiance with a modern, chic design. Fresh menu of seafood and sushi. The food is always delicious and fresh. The macaroni and cheese cake ball is the greatest thing on the menu, it is so inventive and unique. Definitely a must-go for locals and tourists alike!

Saw the restaurant on yelp & I called in for a carry out order & asked the young lady on the phone for her favorite sandwich as I had never dined here before. She recommended the chicken melt and it is absolutely amazing! The mushrooms, caramelized onions, bacon & chicken on a pretzel bun were all perfectly paired. A very good sandwich. The yam chips were great & the pasta salad the best I've ever had in my 31 yrs. I actually wish I could get the recipe so I could take it to a BBQ or cookout & impress my family/friends. This has definitely piqued my interest to want to come back for dinner and explore the rest of the menu. Definitely take time to go for lunch or dinner. It's located in historic downtown Conway which is a very cute area to walk around & shop and eat from the looks of it. (I'm not from here.)

Every meal I have ever had here has been a work of art. I've never left hungry or disappointed. The outdoor dining area is lovely as well as inside and even the bar. Service is always perfect and professional. Can't wait to go back and try something new!

Absolutely mind blowing experience yet again! Hands down the best restaurant on the entire east coast and west coast. Darren you have an amazing staff and a phenomenal menu. The bacon wrapped tenderloin, my favorite dish, the sushi roll, the chicken soup and the cheesecake were out of this world. I am truly an advocate for Rivertown Bistro!!!! If there is a way to get Guy Fietti to Conway, it would blow his mind as well!!! Again, thank you for and awesome meal and great service!

Called in a to-go order for the Sesame Tuna while visiting family in Conway. Delicious! The tuna was cooked perfectly and the portion was generous. The cauliflower wasabi mash was tasty. I only wish I could have eaten it there, piping hot. It was room temp til I got it home. It doesn't look like much in a to-go box, I can imagine its beautifully plated when dining it. Definitely want to go back and try more dishes. Very classy decor and the few staff I spoke to were friendly. Wishing I would have ordered a dessert!

Came here for lunch on a Thursday. Inside has a nice clean and modern look. Our server, Blake, was very enthusiastic and took excellent care of us. I had the sesame seared tuna with mashed cauliflower, soy beans, shiitake mushrooms, and an egg roll. The presentation was great with attention clearly given in the details. Each component of the dish was well prepared with good flavor, but it didn't quite come together into a cohesive meal, it felt a little disjointed. I still enjoyed the food very much and all of the plates I saw in the restaurant looked really good with nice presentation. I wouldn't hesitate to come back and try some more items off the menu!

My wife and I were in the conway area. We decided to check out this river town bistro we have heard so much about. The food is great! The location overview the conway historic places. I really enjoyed the place where it was not too quiet and up speed . The place is fresh and up to date. Loved it.

This is a great find! The bistro is located in the heart of conway. It has all kinds of food for all ages and appetites. We came here with my two year old and he loved the food. They have an upstarts eat in and it's a must see. Love this place from the first try and will love to come back soon.

Really first-class food and ambiance. Little ole' Conway is lucky to have this place. It's a Charleston-quality establishment, and I mean that in the best possible way.

I did not expect it to be this good! This rivals what I have had in Charleston! The Tuna Sushi was fantastic! The fried chicken with fried okra is great southern comfort food. I'm going to get dessert.

What a gem in this cute picturesque town! To be honest, I just needed a quick bite to eat while in Conway for business and co-workers found Rivertown Bistro. The place was truly unexpected!!!! My group ordered the hot crab dip for the table. It was absolutely divine with huge chunks of crab. For lunch, I ordered the hot roast beef croissant. The sweet potato chips that came with it were so good. The sandwich was a bit messy with the au jus dip but well worth it! The place has a trendy hip vibe and the decor is fabulous. I'll be sure to stop by whenever I'm in this charming southern town.

This place was highly recommended by a local who I met the other day through work in Conway. Yelp gave it a good rating. My meal confirmed the good choice. Started with a fried calamari appetizer. It was okay, not over cooked, but nothing to brag about. Had the filet. It was wonderful. Cooked perfectly, tender, as you would expect and well seasoned. It came with a twice baked potato that was tasty and sautéed spinach that was so good I finished all of it before I was half way through the steak. And I'm not much of a spinach guy. Even the house Cab I had with the meal was good. I will definitely eat here again if I'm ever back on this area.

The food was delicious and the wait staff was friendly and attentive. A little pricey but I don't mind paying for quality! Modern inside. Definitely a unique find in conway. Probably one of the better restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area.

Five star snapper with spinach risotto. Best fish I've had in a while. The club salad was a bit on the small side and the Mac-n-cheese noodle cake was bland. Overall experience was nice and would definitely return.

We just can't get a bad meal. So worth the drive from North Myrtle. Great service, GREAT food and priced right. Ample parking, no excuse not to go.

Truly an outstanding place to eat. Cool, sexy decor. Outstanding staff and servers...although... Why do these places hire personality bereft hostesses right off the local H.S. cheer squad ??? How is it management doesn't understand your first impression is the host/hostess ?? Servers Jenn and Josh are terrific...pleasant...banter...put up with the obnoxious jokes quite well.....we ain't the easiest to serve....and we probably take up too much server time trying to be clever. I think an excellent value..prices are very reasonable for the quality and care. About the same as your better chains such as Outback and cheaper than Bonefish. Portions are about right...not too large...apps perfect size for sharing...entrees bigger than I care for...but not gargantuan. Everything we have had at this place is superb. Interesting ingredients that are familiar and understandable. Combinations that are unique to the palate...yet familiar. A terrific place to take the adventurous eater, as well as the finicky. Both will find something unique and familiar in the same dish. Fried oysters salad was outstanding. Oysters creamy...bacon dressing was warm and EXACTLY the right amount...too many places drown their salads. Corn shrimp roll up thingy with ham was fantastic. Pork tenderloin special was sublime. Wine list is exactly what all restaurants should do....encourage people to try wines that are unique and reasonably priced by the glass. Conway has some amazing restaurants...and this is one of the better if not the best. Conway is far and above preferable to most of the offerings in MB...and a much better value...worth the short drive.

After reading reviews we have wanted to come here for a while and we finally made it. What a great restaurant. It is inviting from the moment you walk up to it and continues as you walk through the door. Tastefully decorated with modern flare and artwork. We were seated upstairs along the railing so we can view the kitchen below us. We started with the special appetizer of the evening: aged cheddar fondue with pears, grapes, toast, french fries, red peppers and sausage. It was a delicious feast that we shared. Next we shared the watermelon Bibb salad with pickled onions, feta cheese, cucumbers and mint. We told the waiter we were sharing and he brought it to the table already split. The portion was big and plenty for each of us, beautifully plated and it was delicious! Then we moved onto the main course. We continued to share the meal. Next we chose the chargrilled pork chop with wild mushroom marsala gravy, hash brown casserole and grilled zucchini. Wow! Once again it came to the table split on 2 plates. The pork chops were an inch thick and cooked perfectly juicy with a little pink center. Unbelievably tender, juicy and flavorful with the mushroom gravy. The hash brown casserole was made with aged cheddar and the zucchini was also grilled to perfection. The zucchini was tender yet still had the crunch to remind us how fresh the food was. I mentioned we split the dinner and at this point each of us still only ate half of our plate. Since everything was SO good, we couldn't pass up dessert when our waiter mentioned the homemade ice cream flavors of the day: peanut butter and jelly ice cream and coconut cake ice cream. We ordered the set of 3 mini cones. Perfect ending to an amazing meal. Everything about this meal was amazing. The food was prepared to perfection, the service was great and attentive, the ambience was relaxing and romantic. We will definitely return again in the near future!

Reimagined southern cuisine. The chef is constantly trying out new specials with seasonal and locally or specially-sourced ingredients. The cheese plate is always amazing. The food can be a bit over seasoned/sauced/sweet, a result of catering to both conservative and sophisticated palettes, but the staff are happy to split entrees - which is often plenty. The waitstaff are attentive and informed, especially during dinner service. A safe bet for fine dining in inland Horry.

Simply put, Rivertown Bistro is outstanding! Plan on around $100 per couple, but it's well worth it. Everything from the food to service is top notch. Before you lay good money down for tourist food closer to the beach, give Rivertown a try. You won't be disappointed.

Loved, loved, loved everything. The service was wonderful...the food was amazing. Will absolutely go back and refer friends. Had the grilled grouper, and it was perfect. There wasn't one item on the dessert menu that I would've been disappointed with but decided on some homemade ice cream and glad I did!

Just ate some "wow" tonight. The drive to Conway is worth it for Rivertown Bistro. My wife and I ate there for our anniversary and we both loved our food. I had a seafood medley of sea scallops lobster and shrimp over mashed potatoes in a fried zucchini boat, drizzled with a white sauce that was RIDICULOUS. Yeah. It was almost too much deliciousness on one plate. My wife had an awesome filet with a pimento cheese baked potato and grilled asparagus. I totally expected to be able to finish her meal as I normally am able to do but she HOUSED the whole thing because she couldn't stop eating it. I've not heard from one person that has a single negative thing to say about this place. My only complaint is why isn't it located in my neighborhood? It would be much more convenient for me if this were the case.

Tonight we ate in the best restaurant that we have found in the Myrtle Beach area. This place is absolutely a 4 + star eatery. My wife started off with a creamy mushroom soup while I had their French Onion soup. Both were excellent. We ordered the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin with cranberries, apples and hashbrown casserole. It was amazing. The pork was tender, and most of all juicy. We asked for it to be split and both servings was plenty for us. Couldn't resist the dessert menu and my wife had five homemade ice creams, (pumkin cheesecake, vanilla, chocolate, orange sorbet, & cranberry cheesecake. All served on small but delicious sugar cones. I had the Toffee Tower. Just melted in your mouth. It was large enough to be shared. What an excellent meal. Our server was Anna, who took the time to talk about items on the menu as we told her this was our first time there. Her kindness and efficiency made our dinner an extra pleasant experience. We will definitely be back for more and will be friends with us. Thank you all for a great meal.

Fantastic place. I wish Shelby, NC had something like this. It is swanky but not stuffy. We had the beet salad and the goat cheese salad with an order of a sushi roll then topped it off with the banana ice cream dessert served with homemade chocolate ice cream and a tangy slice of key lime pie. I would go out of the way to experience Rivertown Bistro again... I was also impressed with the wine by the glass selection and the reasonable prices as well as the selection of craft beers.

Found this place on Yelp as we are from out of town and needed a bite to eat. There's not much I can add from the other reviews. The decor is trendy, Ryan, our server was knowledgable and made us feel welcomed, and the food was served piping hot and DELiCIOUS! So glad we chose this wonderful restaurant!

this is the place you go when you want a nice (not cheap) dinner. great for dates and special occasions. the food is amazing and i really like the whole decor (i'm not the type of person who usually cares about or likes decor in restaurants). we went on a weekday afternoon and while there wasn't a wait the place was pretty packed. my boyfriend and i already know that when his parents or grandparents come to town and ask where we want to eat it will be rivertown. and i'm sure we'll end up here on our anniversary in two weeks. there really doesn't seem to be another place like this in the area. i did notice a closed off room upstairs so you can have private party's.

Judging from the previous reviews of this restaurant it seemed like a perfect place to take my date for a nice meal. We started off with the Lowcountry spring rolls and they were absolutely delicious...maybe the best appetizer I've ever eaten in my life! My date ordered a bowl of broccoli cheddar cheese soup and a side order of hash brown casserole and was very pleased with both. I ordered the lobster, shrimp and scallop au gratin. Here's where the problems began. It looked good...it tasted ok..but to me it smelled exactly like when you make boiled shrimp and throw the shells in the trash, and then don't empty the garbage for about three days and then lift the lid and get a good whiff. It's an unmistakable smell, like the smell of a rotting corpse. The waiter came back to check on us and I told him I couldn't eat this because it smelled like it was spoiled. He apologized and took the plate back to the kitchen. Before he left the table I asked if I could have the ribeye steak cooked medium rare. He came back a couple of minutes later and informed me that the chef said all of the ingredients were very fresh and the reason it smelled that way was because of the type cheese used in the dish. Well...this leaves one to ponder this... as a chef why would you create a dish with ingredients that smells like 3 - day old dead fish. I'm not a professional chef but I gotta believe that if it was one that I would only make dishes that are appealing to the eye and the nose, and of course the taste buds. But I digress. A few minutes later my steak was brought out to me. I sliced into it and it was nowhere CLOSE to being medium rare. It looked like it had been cooked a maximum of one minute on each side. I would guesstimate the steak was about an inch and a half thick...and only a maximum of 1/4 inch cooked on each side...so about a good inch of raw meat. Our waiter came back and asked if I wanted a to go box for the 2/3 of steak I hadn't eaten and I just showed him the inside of the steak and asked him did he tell "the chef" I wanted it cooked medium rare and he said yes. He asked me if I wanted it takes back and cooked more and I said no. I had tried to eat the steak as it was...but just couldn't eat anymore. I decided to cut my losses at this point and paid my tab and left. All-in-all a very disappointing dining experience and I have no desire to ever return.

Outstanding food and service. Went here with my folks and sister as a "special nite out" and it was quite special. I recommend the French Artisan Cheese sampler with wine flight. Main courses were two steak and two seafood. Both were great.

Yummy! And great atmosphere. We found this place using the yelp app and based on the good reviews. The hostess was nowhere to be found and it took forever to be seated ... Although there were plenty of tables. But once we were seated everything was great. We had the spinach rolls appetizers which were scrumptious but a little greasy and the dip was plain ole honey mustard. We had an oyster salad which was ok. And we had a salmon salad which was really cooked perfect. I would definitely recommend this place to eat!

Found this place through Yelp-no disappointment! Decided on the tomato salad for an app and then the crab cake app as my main course. The blend of corn with the sauce was a great compliment to the pure crab cake. My nephew chose the roasted chicken- equally delicious!

Thanks to Yelp, we found this gem of a bistro in Conway while on vacation in and around Myrtle Beach. This was some of the best food we have ever had (and we have traveled quite a lot!). A great change from the multitude of all-you-can-eat seafood buffets and commercial/chain/tourist restaurants around Myrtle. Food and atmosphere were excellent. The chicken primavera soup was amazing and interesting. We also inhaled the pimento cheesecake - a true delight. Who knew that bourbon was the mystery/secret ingredient that made it taste smoky and kept drawing us in. The scallop salad - what can I say? The scallops were perfectly cooked, yielding easily to my knife and fork. The goat cheese with bacon jam, pistachio, a kind of buttermilk dressing and the freshest greens satisfied my yin/yang taste buds perfectly. Carlos ordered the flounder with yellow grits. The entree was fantastically prepared - the flounder was fried but not at all greasy; the grits were prepared with cream and delicious (although VERY rich). The atmosphere was contemporary, clean, and inviting. The wait staff was knowledgable and accommodating. A definite return to this establishment when we are vacationing in MB.

Well done! I dined alone at the bar and felt completely comfortable and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was perfect, modern decor and even a lounge area in the bar with a view. The bartender was friendly, knowledgeable and offered great recommendations. I'm a goat cheese freak and I was able to create my own cheese platter with nothing but goat cheese and extra of it along with two different types of jams, umm ummm it was perfection! For dinner I had the rainbow trout and it was delish and sooo well seasoned. If I order the same next time I will ask for the cream based sauce on the side. The sauce was good but I really enjoy tasting the true flavor of the fish. And if you are a grits person, you will love the yellow grits that accompany the dish. They are incredibly rich and plentiful. I was so terribly full from dinner and drinks that I didn't get to try any of the desserts but that's on my to do list for next time! And it's a bit pricey...I had two drinks along with an appetizer and entree and it totaled around $50 including tip, which isn't that bad. Overall, it was well worth it and I'll definitely return!

Excellent restaurant. Had the duck, it was cooked to perfection - crispy outside, tender and pink inside. Delectable sides. My friend had bacon-wrapped pork loin and enjoyed it very much. Service was unobtrusive, which is quite nice. Only negative was the obviously overwhelmed hostess with an attitude - I told her we had a reservation under the name ... and I didn't even get to "Homer S" before she told me to hold on and answered the phone. Twice. Priorities, oy. Definitely worth the trip out from that nearby tourist trap... Astoundingly cheap too!

I was not especially excited to meet coworkers here for a celebratory supper. The slight pretentiousness of its reputation was a turn off, and I really rather not pay $33 for one meal. However ( a big however), it was the best meal I've had at a restaurant ever. The menu is packed with delicious sounding plates, so it was hard to choose. I ended up with the bacon-wrapped pork, and though I'm not a huge pork fan, I fell in love with this dish! The barbecue sauce was unique and not at all like the normal dark, sticky stuff you get from a bottle. The hashbrown cake and peas and carrots were also delicious, but the fried okra was actually divine. The rest of my party patronizes the place frequently and said they've never had anything less than perfect. Everyone agreed that the Lowcountry Spring Roll appetizer is a must-try and that their Key Lime Pie is better than any they've ever had. Our waitress was very knowledgable and gladly answered all of our questions. It wasn't particularly crowded on our Tuesday outing, but I think most people make reservations.

Where do I start? We were going to eat at Flying Fish at Barefoot Landing but there was a 1 hour wait. Wow, lucky for us. We drove 30 minutes to Conway and were seated right away. Our waitress, Allison, was very knowledgable and friendly. Now to the food... our party of 4 ordered 3 appetizers: crab dip served with garlic toast, blue cheese stuffed figs wrapped in bacon, and the low country spring rolls. From the start, it was down-right phenomenal. The spring rolls were crispy and full of flavor, and of course anything wrapped in bacon is delicious. For the main course, I ordered the crab cake and scallops. My one daughter ordered the duck breast (medium rare). My wife and other daughter split the fried oyster salad, the dynamite sushi roll and the everything roll. Everything was excellent and hands-down 5 star quality. And our food all came out in a quicker than timely manner. We were all moaning over everything and we easily cleaned our plates. But, we didn't stop there, we had to order desert. We had the mini ice cream comes and we sampled the peppermint, vanilla, and surprisingly the popcorn ice cream. One of my daughters ordered the creme brûlée and the other ordered a bowl of peppermint ice cream. Everything, from the service to the atmosphere to the food, was all outstanding. And we're certainly glad the people of Myrtle Beach haven't found this place yet. We would recommend this place to anybody who's looking for quality, interesting food.

This establishment is exactly why I love yelp. I had business in Conway and ended up needing to find a place with something good to eat for dinner. The other evaluations of Rivertown Bistro are spot-on. From the outside, it doesn't really look like much, but make sure you open the door and walk in anyway! The decor is inviting, the waitstaff very friendly...but the food is outstanding. I had the shrimp and grits with grilled vegetables ($17). Very, very good. The ingredients are obviously fresh and prepared by an experienced chef. My colleague had the grilled seafood platter ($23) and had nothing but praise for the freshness and wonderful taste. I have eaten at similar establishments in Raleigh and Greensboro, but never expected such a find in the small town of Conway. I made the mistake of mentioning it to my wife when I returned home, and now we have to take a road trip back in the very near future. Darn. I'm looking forward to it!

Not what you would expect to find in Conway, SC. I ate here with a customer on 2/16/12. Place was packed for lunch but service was great. Very creative meals, great decor. Nice to see something so unique can thrive. The restaurant would more than hold it's own in any larger city. Very affordable for the quality. Hope it lasts!

Rivertown Bistro is the best fine dining Horry County has to offer, bar none. Unimpressed before their fire and remodel, the reborn Bistro is one of the few area restaurants that offer creativity, quality, and atmosphere comparable to fine dining restaurants in major metropolitan areas. If in a party of two, ask to sit upstairs on the mezzanine overlooking the kitchen to watch the staff work. The menu generally offers a contemporary take on home cooking and regional fare. Seafood is mostly local and fresh, the roasted chicken is my current fall favorite, the sausage and cranberry stuffing is quite likely the best stuffing I've ever tasted. Desserts are well-portioned and tasty, if relatively standard, and the wine list is robust and offers some good value picks.

I obviously had a very different experience than most reviewers. Took my mother for a birthday lunch. I told the host prior to seating it was a special occasion, and she seated us promptly. Our food was delicious but the service was horrible. Our waitress, Madalyn, was so unattentive it was not expected at this restaurant. It took forever for her to come over and just get our drink order, and we ordered soups first.......then we waited and waited for her to return to take our lunch order. I had to ask another waitress as well as the host to get her for us. We watched as other patrons sat and were served promptly all around us. We seemed to be the only ones still waiting and eating as other diners were sat, served and left prior to us. I don't know why we were so negelected, but it left a very bad experience for us, and quite disappointing because it was my mother's birthday.

I have only dined here for lunch. Prices are reasonable and the menu is varied. The Low Country rolls are superb. The only down side to lunch is the number of local attorneys eating there.
