My wife and I ate here on 4/26/12, I had never eaten here before but I heard great things about it. We walked in and were greeted by almost everyone that worked in the place. The place was very clean and you can tell they take great care of the building, the service was great and friendly which is what you would expect from a small country place to eat. Only thing I am upset about is the food. I know this is a major thing to have wrong in a cafeteria. I had the seafood platter the oysters were mushy and lacked flavor. The fish was the worst of all because the whole fish was full of bones and made it hard to enjoy it when after every bite I had to pick a bone out of my mouth. It did have a deviled crab which I did enjoy along with the hush puppies. Biggest problem was after we ate, our whole family got sick, I do not know what was wrong with the food or caused us to be sick but we were fine before we entered the cafeteria, and after we left, within 15 mins my wife, son, and I were sick and throwing up. I know this is probably a one time thing and there are a lot of locals who eat there all the time. But for us and our experience we will not come back because of what happened to us. The reason I am giving this review a 3 because I really do believe this is an isolated thing and I was happy with the service and the building in general.

Came here round 1:00pm, the fried chicken is excellent. The man serving us didn't have very good cust serv. The waitress was excellent. The price was reasonable for 1 meat, 3 sides, & tea. I would come back for the fried chicken. They do accept credit cards.

After living in Conway for three years I finally made it to J & J's. I shouldn't have waited so long, this place is great. This is southern food for southern folks. I had the country ham sandwich. It was a little light on the ham but not bad, for 3 bucks what should I expect. The service was fast and friendly. They run a small lunch buffet that looked like a spread of my grand mother's greatest hits. If you've never had traditional southern food, J & J's would be a great introduction for you.

Stopped in here last year while I was in town & only got a cup of coffee & then some their awesome sweet tea to go when I left. Had told myself for the last year i was going to go back when I was back down this way. Made a return visit today with my wife & we were both very pleased. Service was great, food was good, and the sweet tea was still awesome.

I tried this place for Sunday lunch. The staff was very friendly the price was reasonable but the food has no flavor whatsoever. I left most of it on the plate. I've heard their breakfast is better. I hope so.

Looking for steamed/roasted oysters near Conway SC? Look no further! We live just outside of Conway SC, where J&J is located. We have always gone to Murrells Inlet for steamed/roasted oysters. We love local/SC oyster clusters. Well... our last 2 trips to Murr/Inlt were disappointing, so I decided to see if anything closer to home served these same oysters. Low and behold, one of the local seafood markets directed us to J&J Cafeteria, which we had never heard of. WOW! The oysters were the best I think I might have ever had... and I have had a lot of oysters! Their buffet looked great too. Can't wait to go back and try that out! YUM!

When we first moved here, my son worked for this man for a week and he did not pay him. My son contacted the Labor Board, under my advice, and they investigated the situation. After about a month, the Board found the owner guilty. The owner had my son fill out a W4, he then turned it into the IRS (as the employer is supposed to), but didn't pay him when payday arrived?? - why have an employee do all that, to not pay him? The pay was over $260; it wasn't something that you could just forget and not have to pay taxes on. Even after the Labor Board found the man guilty, he still didn't send out or pay anything. At the end of the year it still had to be claimed. He kept claiming (over 6 times) "it's in the mail." "you'll get it when you get it." When he was asked a couple of times, the owner had gotten physical - he grabbed my sons arm to throw him out and raised his hand to hit him. I witnessed this. After all that, as my son worked there, he said the food wasn't even worth that stress. It was all terrible. Staff, owner, the whole place. Completely Unprofessional Since we've lived here, in the area, we've heard nothing but terrible things about this place. It's terrible this happened, but even if it didn't, after hearing all that we've heard and from what we've seen just driving by, we would never waste our money or time here. If you do happen to not heed what I said here, do not take your kids here. Apparently this man (owner) doesn't know how to act and just might hit them.

We have dined here on numerous occasions and had pretty good experiences. The breakfast food is like a diner, your typical egg/ breakfast selections, but nothing fancy. The meat and 3 option is decent too. Sadly, there have been some recent events involving the owner being charged for assaulting an employee. Therefore, I will never patronize this establishment again.

We were driving through Conway, SC and stopped for breakfast. I had no expectations, but the service was fast and friendly and the food came out exactly as ordered. It was pretty good. There wasn't anything fancy on the breakfast menu... just the classics. The eggs were cooked to order and home-fries were nicely done. It was a good meal. I wouldn't expect too much more from a restaurant with 'Cafeteria' in the name.

Terrible choice for a good meal. I've eaten here a total of 4 times. I wanted to like this place and I gave them a lot of chances to give me a good experiences. I don't know where to begin about why you shouldn't waste your time and money here. The food needs a lot of work/change. I've eaten their breakfast lunch and dinner with dessert. Small portions with a big price. The staff is/was rude to me and my guests. What kind of place chooses to be rude to their customers? Maybe because we weren't locals... Anyways, this place is not friendly and if your looking for a friendly local place for food in Conway, try The Tristle, or anywhere other than J&J. You'll be glad you did.

Food is good along with the pricing. Ate there and all was good but the cheesy potatoes. They were dry and kinda burnt and didn't really see where the cheese was. The service is friendly but they need more of a selection for drinks only have Pepsi products maybe could use also Coke products.
