The Woody, how do I love thee! The first time I walked in, I was shocked at how diverse the crowd & music was. I danced until I couldn't dance anymore, with complete strangers & all. Beware: this place is not for the pretentious crowd. Come prepared to have fun!

Love a good wedding reception dance minus the long winded toasts? This is your place. It's a great mix of music and people. There are people there with no rhythm all the way to what I assume to be professional dancers. Young people, old people, all the in-between people on one dance floor just shaking it off! Sometimes there is a cover and sometimes there is a line. They have fun parties and participate in special Vista events from time to time (like Vista Lights). The bar is pretty well stocked too. If you want to blow off some steam after a long week and love to dance then this is the place for you!

The Woody is a great bar to have a drink, watch some great line dancing and chill. They have great bar staff and remember what your regular cocktail is after a visit or two! Come check it out!

Went here for the first time on a Saturday night after a friend's wedding. I'm having to follow up because I was almost double charged on my card for the cover and it took about 20 minutes to get a drink. The bar staff was really unprofessional and "forgot" to give our group the 12 jello shots we ordered which led to us waiting even longer to have our order completed. If you're looking for a little taste of 5 Points in the Vista, look no further.

Excellent place to go dance and not be embarrassed or intimidated if your moves are not quite to usher level....and if you're still shy, the cheap drinks at the bar will give you a little liquid courage. It my go-to here in cola.

This is the place you want to be when you want to have a really good time. The place becomes very crowded on weekend nights. The music ranges from disco to hip hop to country so it appeals to just about everyone. If you're not into dancing, I suggest you go somewhere else. But if you want to let loose and have fun, this is the place to be.

Great place to dance! There's always someone who knows all the line dances- just do what they do. As far as drinks they have all the standard things. Nothing really makes this place stand out as far as selection or service but it's always an entertaining crowd

There is not much to the bar scene in Columbia and this is one of the few bars I know of in the downtown area. Don't let it deter you that you have to walk down an alley to get into the bar. This place might be mostly for the 40 and older crowd, but they do try to mix newer and older music together.

This place never ceases to amaze. In a good way. We first discovered this gem while wandering from bar to bar in the vista. When we walked in, we were confused. If you love the dive bar-iness of Uncle Louie's (I sure do!) but want to combine that with a mixture of nursing home residents and amateur / pro dance teams (I can only believe), this is your place. If you want a bar inside of an art school (?) that offers an initially confusing path to the bathroom, you my friend, have found it. If you love people watching, especially when those people 'get weird with it' in a bar decorated along the lines of 'strip club'...well, look no further. In one night we saw three AMAZING dance offs. I'm talking Michael Jackson choreographed style work. As far as dancing, this place reminds me of a wedding reception. The DJ, an old Columbia radio jockey, is pretty hilarious and plays current music, oldies, and wedding favorites. They also host Salsa Classes on Wednesday nights, not sure if there is a fee. Drinks are relatively cheap, and service is fast and friendly. I would give this place a try when you are looking for something unusual. Who knows, you might become a converted regular...

If you want to get groped and watch oodles of sad people drunkenly slobber on each other and generally make asses of themselves, this is the place to be! If you want to listen to a crappy, over-the-hill DJ make lewd comments about women while they dance, you'll love it here! If you like to get depressed while you watch old folks display their aging parts on the dance floor, this is your scene! The Woody: NEVER AGAIN.

I was brought to this place without any idea of what to expect and it was throughly fun AND entertaining! The crowd is as diverse as it gets and you really can just go there, shake your ass, have a blast with friends, and enjoy some $1 jell-o shots (delicious, by the way).
