Vegetarians beware - it's bacon galore here! With that being said, there is a very limited menu her, mainly burgers and other meat sandwiches. Most of the burgers are unique, and of course include bacon. At least at this location, the names of the burger are consistent with areas around Columbia. Not sure if the same burgers are served at other locations throughout the U.S. with diffierent names. There's even bacon sprinkled on their desserts, bacon as part of their "adult beverages", and a "bucket of bacon" appetizer. Location wise, this was a good spot as it is in the Five Points area. That being said, parking may be hard. There is some (limited) meter parking in front of restaurant, but spaces may not always be available. Someone in the party I was with said she was able to park behind the restaurant, but I am not sure where the parking is. I personally parked by Blue Cactus, whic is within walking distance, but not great for a single white female making her way back to her car after dark. Size of Sizzle is good given what they have. Probably not big enough for the party of 20-ish we had Friday (though the staff was able to seat us together- even using tables that would normally be outside). The only real disappointment for me was that the "adult beverages" came in nice glassware, but water and sodas came in plastic cups, like you might be at a frat

If anyone wants to meet up for lunch or dinner at Sizzle then just let me know. I'm there. A few friends and I stopped by for dinner last night before heading to the theatre. I was a little nervous about the wait times based on other people's reviews but there was no need to worry. I walked in and grabbed a table. The waitress, Brianna, was incredibly nice and answered all our questions about the menu. After thoroughly reviewing the menu we ordered the Bloomin' Bacon Garlic Bread for an app and I ordered The Gamecock Burger for my dinner. The bread was hot, soft and delicious! There was some debate at our table that it would be extra delicious with a side of ranch for dipping and I'm inclined to agree. It is a bit messy to eat though. It's a pull apart, stuffed bread and some of the toppings fell off as you pulled it apart but it was still super yummy. Now... The Gamecock burger? It is a beef patty topped with BBQ brisket, gouda cheese and bacon. That sounds like meat overload and it is and it is crazy delicious! It's honestly going to be hard for me to order anything different here ever again because that burger was so good. It came with lettuce, tomato, onion and condiments but you don't need any of that. I took one bite and juices starting running out. It was cooked medium well but still so moist. It is also messy but oh so worth it! I'd ask for an extra cup of the BBQ sauce for dipping though. I'm a dipper. One other note from someone at the table is that the bacon jam is THE jam. So you may want to check out that too. One thing that I'm docking a star for is that the staff (while super friendly, attentive and helpful... apparently they got that issue all worked out) would take trash cans and bags out the front door to throw them away. Three of them also took a smoke break right in front of the restaurant at the same time. While I know that wait staff, bartenders and kitchen staff may smoke I would prefer not to see them doing it while I'm trying to eat or smell it when they are doing it right in front of the restaurant. f they clean up their act a bit in the professionalism department then it would be a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

I'm cutting them slack on the waitress since they've only been open 2 weeks and they're working out the kinks. The food is delicious enough to make up for it. The owner and bartender and cook are awesomely attentive and taught me and my friend bar tricks once we moved there our drinks were always filled and they took great care of us. We had a great time. I had a blt. The bacon was perfectly cooked, and everything was fresh crisp and toasty. Add the sriracha mayo. Zomgz good on my sammich. My side was bacon Mac and cheese and it was on point. Shells. Creamy. Crunchy. Spicy. Delicious. My friend got a Bloody Mary which was beautiful. The sizzle dust will grow on you--bacon pulverized with salt is perfect on the rim of your drink. Their slaw was creamy and had a great texture and wasn't sweet. Just how I like it. We also sampled the tequila pickle. It's soaked in tequila for a few days. If you can eat a whole one in under 60 seconds you get a free beer, which sounds super fun. I'll be back and a more adventurous eater. Just remember --take your cholesterol meds first and don't come if you're a vegetarian. Bacon galore.

OMG...this place is awesome! After waiting 6 months...I can say this place is worth the wait. I got the Sizzle Burger (Chili Cheese Burger with Bacon). And it truly was the best burger I've ever had. The burger has 3 different kinds of meat in it, grinded just for Sizzle. Perfectly cooked it comes topped with Chef Gary's chili, cheese and really THICK BACON. It also came with fries as well, topped with bacon dust. These fries were delicious, no ketchup needed. Our waitress was very good, attentive and our water glasses never sat empty. And she went above and beyond for us. Great service on her part. While the place is small, the service and food is among some of the best I've ever had. If you are in Five Points give Sizzle a shot.

We met up with a big group after work and had a great experience. The staff and the owner were awesome, super accommodating, and went out of their way for us. I loved the bacon basket appetizer, and really enjoyed my burger. Being a huge bacon fan, this place just hit the spot! They also have an excellent drink selection with a bacon flavored bourbon.

The food was great! Started with the Bacon Bloody Mary which was excellent. The homemade Bloody Mary mix was spicy and flavorful. The bacon dust on the rim gave it extra bacon flavor. We split the Meatzilla sandwich which has brisket, bacon, smoked Gouda and bar-be-que sauce on Texas Toast. Messy so get extra napkins but tasty. Got a side order of Tots and added cheese. These were great. Would definitely something we will get again. Finally we for the vanilla bacon cheesecake with salted caramel drizzle. Best dessert I have had in a long time. Will definitely go back. Service was a little slow at the start but picked up.

If I could give 1/2 a star, I would. In fact, after writing this review, I'm gonna contact yelp and ask'em if it's possible. I put an hrs worth of quarters in the meter and start the timer on my iPhone, keep that in mind. I walk in with a friend and we don't even get greeted, so we find a open table and sit down. About 7 mins go by and we still don't get a menu nor do we get acknowledged. By this time, two other tables sit down and get a menu the waiter takes their drink order. A couple of mins go by and finally we get our menus but not before the first of the two tables get their waters. Another 5-9 mins go by before the waiter takes our order but not our drink order. The 1st of the two table, gets up and leave. The table behind us tells the waiter that he's taking too long and they need to go. 10 mins go by and we get our water with no straw, tho we didn't get a chance to order it, the 2nd of the two tables not only gets his order but also his drink. 35 mins into our waiting, the chef-I think-comes to out table and asks us if we've been waited upon yet, 35 MINS!! 40 mins into our waiting, we finally get our order, the sizzle burger*. The plate had the burger, fries, a dill pickle and a packet of mayo, spicy mustard and ketchup. I had to ask for napkins. We didn't get any silverware, the waiter asked us if we wanted any, which I think is kinda odd. He got us silverware. I asked for ketchup and he said theres already some on the plate, one packet. He brings us two packets of ketchup each, so I guess they don't have ketchup bottles. For being $9+, I thought the burger would be bigger, not look like a slider with bacon on it. The first bite tasted like it was burnt. The burger was ok, not good and so were the fries. We didn't ever get a refill. And with 3 mins left on my timer, we finish our food and then we wait for a good 10 mins before I had to wave down the chef, because the waiter was talking to a table for 15 mins. I'm sure I'm not gonna go back, it was a bad experience.

Bacon? Delicious. Everything was crispy and tasty. It came out in a reasonable time and the burger was perfect. Service? Meh. The waitress tried to give a disclaimer for each menu option as some defensive mechanism to manage expectations. She didn't need to though because the food was great and the portions adequate. Atmosphere? The 90's alternarock needs to be turned down but the place had a cool vibe to it. Overall, excellent place and I love to see these types of places in Columbia.

Excellent toppings on a very mediocre burger patty (which is worlds better than the nasty baloney-tasting patties next door at Pawleys). It tasted like they mixed sausage into the meat or something. And it was gray. Weird. You can't make a 5-star burger using a 3-star patty. That's why Fever failed, that's why no one raves about Pawleys' burgers anymore, and that's why I'll wait 6 months & try this place again to see whether they've figured it out. Walk down to Yesterday's (overrated in oh so many other ways) and watch how they cook a burger patty. And if your entire theme is bacon, the bacon better be excellent. It wasn't. Mine was 3/4 crispy & perfect, 1/4 undercooked and inedible (except perhaps by that guy in My Cousin Vinny who swallowed his fried chicken leg whole). That should have never left the kitchen in any restaurant, but especially this one. I thought this would be a bacon restaurant for the paleo crowd, but so far it seems more suited to Paula Deen fans. I won't call it a "fail" yet because so many things other than the bacon and the burger patty suggested they're aiming high at this place, but I will if it's not turned around on my next visit. I really want to like this place.

This place is amazing and Mickey made it over the top he was very friendly. The food was awesome. If you have heart problems this is not the place to be lol. My daughter was home from vet school for the holidays. My wife picked this place. I think she saw it in the free times. She wanted to take our daughter somewhere different. There was nothing I tried that I did not like. Mickey thanks for the great service we will be back .......papa bear :-)

Bacon fireball shot may have been raw bacon that had rotted in the bottle. I was a server and bartender for years and we sat at the bar and the service was still poor. Food was OK but nothing to write home about. The idea of a bacon centered menu is great but execution was poor.

Ate there last night, I am a chef so I am hard to please. I put this place as one of the best burgers I have had ever! My wife had the 5 point, she said it was the best burger she had ever had. One of my girls had the brunchster it was great just thought the egg could have been a little less done. My son had the bacon Mac-cheese, it was real good. I had the Gamecock which is burger with brisket on it. Over all it was great! I had a bloody bacon, which is a Bloody Mary made with bacon infused vodka, let me say about this is wow wow wow! The bacon dust and the strip of bacon in it was unreal! So to sum it up Sizzle was one of the best ever!

Okay so first off my review is really a 3 but the bartenders were awesome, one went so far as to go and get me a drink from across the street because it was still on the menu and I wanted it! Stellar customer service! Now, as far as the food, I only got a 'bucket o bacon' so I was pleased but can't really say anything to the rest of the menu. The alcohol selection could use a bit of a boost but they did have the essentials covered. Everyone was super nice but also seemed super distracted by personal guests at the restaurant, personal drama at the restaurant, and I'm pretty sure a drunk off the clock employee caused a bit of a scene as well. Entertaining yes...professional...no....also eating/drinking in front of customers is usually not the best idea. All in all I liked it but there are definitely some things that should be addressed to make it a better environment for customers, particularly if they want a variety of patrons outside of drunk college age kids(like people with more mulah!!). This isn't my first time eating here and I would definitely go back but the bacon is really the appeal. There's nothing else that is particularly spectacular or any qualities that make it stand out from other bars in the area....I guess you gotta keep in mind it's a five points bar/restaurant.

Worst bartender ever? Probably. Within moments of sitting down she was complaining that she had 15 minutes left of her shift. She complained the entire time. I got a burger with bacon in it, bacon jam and bacon slices on it. It came out with two flat bottom buns instead of a regular top and bottom bun. I was supposed to get chili and pimento cheese fries. They were plain. The bartender was going to fix this but never did. I advised her that she never brought it out to correct my order and she offered to get it when all my food was gone. What am I going to do? Eat it with a spoon? (maybe) She took it off the bill, let my glass run dry numerous times and had a meltdown when the nozzle came off the soda gun and she made a mess. She asked if we wanted anything else at this point and we wanted nothing more than to close out and let her leave. We stayed and had another beer and DJ took good care of us. I only took one star off for the terrible service because the burger was so damn good, two bottom buns and all.
