My wife and I eat here about once a week. Servers are always friendly and service is fast. When the food comes out it always looks great. We've been coming here for 5 years and dont have a single complaint about the food or margaritas. The decor has been updated although some of the booths are a little worn. My favorite is the chile poblano, but come hungry if you want to try it. Large portions, reasonable prices.

the food is nothing great. Service needs some work. Saw the waiter at the beginning and end of the meal. I had to ask for more drinks...not busy at all...got there when they open.

Booths dirty and broken. Lettuce looked a little old. Expected rice and beans with fajitas but more chips with queso on top of the chips we got when we sat down. Fajitas were good along with the tortillas. A bit pricey for what was on the menu

One of our most-frequented restaurants! The service is FAST (it feels like they bring our food out before we finish ordering it - it's awesome!) and good! I love the chicken fajitas and the bean nachos that come out as the appetizer with it. Out of all of the San Joses in Columbia, this is one of my favorites!

The food isn't extraordinary, but if you're looking for some cheap, fast Mexican, it's a good option. Good service, very fast. No complaints.

They serve nice fresh baked baskets of tortillas accompanied by mild salsa. If you're vegetarian, the "D" is pretty tasty. It comes w/one burrito, once cheese enchilada and one chalupa. It's filling but not overly heavy where you have to unbottun your jeans, which in my book for a Mexican Restaurant, is a positive! The thing I liked most was their chardonnay. It was almost as sweet as a reisling but just slightly less so it didn't feel like a dessert wine, which is just what I wanted. The dessert was good, not great. The portion size was huge so we ordered one fried ice cream and shared it among 7 people, and that was still a lot! Service was good in certain areas and not so good in others. If you like overly attentive staff then you won't mind this. I just felt like our waitress, despite how sweet she was, was too eager and attentive and consequently interrupted the flow of conversation a bunch of times. She did however get everything right and split our checks at the end of the night w/o our asking, which was super helpful.

Taco bell looks like a 5 star place next to this hole in the wall.

Good food. Standard Mexican dishes. My choice today was Tacos al Carbon. Plate was cool to touch, meaning no convection oven involved. Toppings were fresh. Overall a good meal.

My husband and I had a terrific meal at San Jose Mexican Restaurant. The staff is extremely efficient for a busy lunch crowd nd the food was excellent. I had the lunch special fajitas and they were very flavorful. My husband ordered the small nachos as an appetizer and a burrito from the lunch specials. He was so full from the nachos that he had to tak the burrito home. We also shared a jumbo margarita which was jumbo and strong which my husband liked a lot. Will definitely go back when we are back in the area again.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
