Great little place! It's not the best Mexican fare I've had but it's definitely delish. I got a margarita. It was called medium but it was HUGE. At first it tasted like straight mix but after talking with our server....the manager came over and added a large shot of tequila to my glass to spice it up. Apparently the person who made it hadn't added enough mojo to the concoction. (Their margaritas are premade unless special ordered). Needless to say my drink was amazing after the addition. I was impressed with the quick no nonsense customer service. The chips and salsa were yummy - we added a side of queso - which was equally yummy. The fajitas were enough for the both of us but I foolishly had ordered my own dish - burritos, taco, rice, and beans....we took home enough food for another meal! This place will surely be added to our date night rotation! Wish I had taken pics ...next time :-)

Order the authentic carne asada tacos! Not real asada, it was just chopped up steak. Not juicy or anything!!! & for a Latin food place only 1/4 of the menu is authentic! You think the whole menu would be!! Wouldn't recommend this place. Visiting from California, & the taco trucks are 10x better. Really disappointed

The food is ok. Got a grilled chicken quesadilla and the chicken was super charred, and lots of oil in my food.

Try their Carne Asada. Good stuff! It's very fast and their staff is always on the ball. Would certainly go back.

If you're coming here i'm going to recommend that you try any of the fajitas. It's literally enough to feed two grown people...especially if you initially stuff your face with chips prior to getting you meal. LOL. Although the size of the fajita was large its safe to say that it was so good I don't mind the extra few calories. I'll just work harder at the gym right?!? haha. I didn't get any drinks when i came but the other two that I was with did. They got this huge serving of margaritas and pretty much demolished it. From what they told me, it's worth the buck! Overall the customer service here was good. The waitress was very friendly and the food came out without much of a wait.

Always good Mexican food, great environment, and easy parking! My favorite choice for Mexican food in Columbia. Fast and efficient service and free chips and salsa to boot!

As someone with extensive experience in Mexican food in souther California I have to say this is sub par. The guac has sour cream in it which is basically a Mexican food crime.

Pleasantly surprised. Didn't think the food would be as good as it was but it did not disappoint. I was really impressed with their queso dip and was shocked that it was almost as good as El Chico's, which to me is a high standard to reach. The guacamole they brought out was fresh and flavorful. The tortilla chips we received were consistently warm and crispy. The salsa was delicious and the dishes were solid B+'s. Service was friendly and fast, and the atmosphere was casual and relaxed. The wide screen TVs were a bit distracting with the game, but other than that, we had a good time, and I'd be glad to recommend this place.

There are much better Mexican restaurants here in Columbia. I find this restaurant much too noisy to be able to enjoy a meal. Service is slow and the food is not very consistent in its quality. This review covers several attempts to eat here. If I could think over the noise, the food might have gotten a better review, but, honestly, I just wanted to hurry up and leave each time I've been here.

San Jose is a very nice comfortable restaurant. Prompt courteous service. Nice and big drinks and good greengo hot salsa. The food is good, home cooked style. No flash no flare, but good solid Mexican food. If it were a bit more daring it would be a bit higher on the scale but they will get my repeat business.

It's our regular Wednesday lunch place for many reasons, aside from our own "Señor Ed" being addicted to the place. Fast, basic Mexican fare. The chips and salsa are fresh made, and refilled often. The food comes out quickly (careful--"Hot Plate!") and we can get in and out of there well within our lunch hour. If you spend more than $10.00 and leave hungry, it's your own fault!

Always get great food when eat in but when ordering to go check your food 9 out of 10 times they get something wrong or forget something in the order. They are always ready to fix the mistakes and usually alittle extra.

unfortunately i wasnt able to even taste the food because the host was exceptionally rude to my girlfriend and i. there was a wait which was reasonable for the day and hour so we sat in the foyer area between the two sets of entrance doors. when a table finally opened up the host knocked on the door and walked away...... now im not usually a snob or anything but really? am i a friggin dog or something? at this point im giving the guy the benefit of the doubt thinking it must be something else and im sure this older 50 something year old man working in the customer service/food service industry didnt just do this to my girlfriend and i. so we look at each other and before we can laugh it off he knocks again and now is waving at us yelling "come on" through the glass. at this point im dumbfounded so my girlfriend heads to the car while i ask for the manager. the manager is younger than the host and after i tell him what happened he quickly apologizes and offers the excuse that its just his father and that hed "have a talk with him" and that hes had problems like this before. this only tells me its an issue that wont be resolved. who would fire their father? all in all im sure the food is great it sure smelled good but i was embarassed beyond belief to have taken my girlfriend there.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
