Fantastic burger and fries. I've been going here since I was a kid and it's a genuine staple in my burger joint rotation. Quality food and service every visit.

It's a very small eatery on the side of the road that has excellent food and milkshakes. I love their cheeseburgers and butterscotch milkshake. I recommend this place to anyone who just wants to grab a quick bite to eat.

Very good shakes indeed sir! Reece's peanut butter shakes are the bomb in a half. Butter scotch shakes are the second best. Food is decent enough to eat as well.

Wow! I have not eaten here since college. This is not where we planned to dine on memorial day, but I'm certainly glad that's how it worked out. We had hot dogs, hamburgers, and french fries. No shakes on this visit. Everything seems to be made to order based on the time it took to get our food. I'm okay with that -I like things hot and fresh. The burgers and hotdogs were really good and the fries were perfectly golden brown. I love, love that they serve Pepsi products! This is definitely a "locals" place, serving the Shandon and Rosewood neighborhoods. You are certain to see USC students as well. It may even classify as a "dive". There are picnic tables outside, and then a separate building with indoor tables, a few game machines and the restrooms. The meal and setting really hit the spot, it won't be another 10 years before I go back.

Honestly I was surprised how good this place was, driving by this place I didn't really want to give it a try, but I eventually did. It was so good! I had the burger and fries. The burger was amazing! The fries were the krinkle fries, which aren't my favorite because they're not as crunchy, but they were still good. My friend really liked her peanut butter chocolate shake but I tried it and it was good but I would rather be able to taste chunks of stuff in my shakes. But that wasn't a big deal. Anyway, if you haven't had this place yet, you should definitely give this place a try!

It's a dive place with yummy bad for you food and nothing fancy. I wish the parking were easier but 256togo.com will deliver if you don't feel like fighting it. I always get the peanut butter shake because it is full of awesome happy calories. So are the cheese fries. I've read other reviews where they said they saw roaches crawling on the floor of the dining area. I've never gone in the dining area, so I can't say anything for sure, but it wouldn't surprise me. It also doesn't bother me because I live in the south and I've worked in restaurants before. You can't destroy all bugs in the universe. Does that make me gross? It's okay, I don't care.

Placed order via phone for a pick-up, ordered the chicken dinner box that comes with 4 pieces of chicken, french fries, two rolls and coleslaw. Note two of the chicken pieces were basically wings, so you don't get four huge pieces of chicken with this meal. I had one large breast and then three smaller pieces. Everything was just okay. The coleslaw had way too much mayonnaise for my liking, some of the fries were soggy, the rolls were standard ones you'd buy at the food store that basically fell part and the chicken was meh. I personally like my fried chicken with a nice thick crust, this chicken did not have it. Although it was juicy and cooked well, it didn't have any additional flavor on it. I picked some of the meat off and left it at that. I was looking forward to eating here having heard great things about this place, but I was highly disappointed. My co-workers order it all of the time and it always smells so delicious too. Glad I tried it but I won't be back. Outdoor seating as well as indoor seating available. Large menu, you can find the whole thing on 256togo.com . I would recommend calling ahead if you're just picking up. Parking isn't ideal, get there early.

Greasy goodness. It doesn't get much better than this. Their cheeseburger basket is great and their chili cheese dog isn't bad either. Definitely better than going to Sonic. Everything is super cheap too!

Never a better treat than stopping by for a dip cone. (Vanilla dipped in butterscotch signifies childhood in Columbia) Slightly divey, perfectly appropriate for being the long-time Columbia roadside burger/ice cream stand that it is. Indoor seating bldg always cracks me up because it's separate from the food stand. But useful for getting together with friends.

Something about this place just reminds you of summertime. While the balmy bliss of June and July may be behind us for the season, you can still replicate the maudlin sentiments of golden-hued afternoons at Rosewood Dairy Bar in the Shandon Region of southeast Columbia. This is where locals get the simple stuff we all loved as kids: burgers and fries, milkshakes, and fantastic finger-foods of the fried variety(....) Rosewood Dairy Bar is the perfect place to go if you want a hamburger or cheeseburger basket. Their ice cream cones dipped in butterscotch are wonderful! The prices are also very reasonable.

I found this place by complete accident since I never go to that part of town. I just happened to be meeting some people there, and they told me the chicken was famous... So I ordered the small basket, which was very reasonably priced. Im not a big fried chicken fan... But this stuff was amazing! Truly the best fried chicken I have ever had anywhere. Not a greaseball or dried up... perfect stuff. Another point to note is that this place is a Zestos by another name. Its owned by the same people and use the same recipes. This place is a throwback to a bygone age of local ice cream shops and eateries... Very nostalgic. My only problem is the parking. If you park up front you have to have nerves of steel to get back onto rosewood. As for the cost... you get maximum bang for your buck.

Well let me be the first to review! This place is low priced and good. You go there to get either a hamburger basket / fried chicken basket or ice cream (get the chocolate dipped). When Lou Holtz was the football coach he had a pregame tradition of having two strawberry milkshakes from the Rosewood Dairy Bar. Nothing wrong with that I guess. Parking is easiest if you pull around to the back. Parking right in front can be tough as you have to back into traffic. I don't know if this place is still affiliated with the Zesto's restaurants but at one point in time it was and the menu is basically the same. For what its worth I always get a Hamburger basket + iced tea. If its a hot day I get a chocolate dipped ice cream cone. Why mess up a good formula?

Gooooood ice cream. Fries are awesome too...I live 1/2 block away so it's pretty dangerous for me.

Both the customer service & the food quality are inconsistent. sometimes I go there & the chicken is perfect other days it's salty & overcooked.
