This older establishment is just "ok." I was impressed with the side salad -- tons of fresh veggies on a bed of romaine. House-made ranch was satisfying, too. I ordered the pick-3 broiled dinner with shrimp, scallops and salmon. The shrimp was rubbery. The scallops were not cooked properly and lacked any caramelization. But the salmon was cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned. The staff was pleasant and attentive. The interior of this restaurant needs serious updating and a good bit of TLC.

So, I was a little worried by other posts here, but we decided to try it anyway. I got the chicken tenders with baby shrimp, baked potato, coleslaw and hush puppies for 6.99. My wife got the fried flounder with all the same sides for 5.99. The chicken tenders were very good! And they have a house made ranch that is awesome with buffalo sauce for dipping. The potatoes were good, better with ranch than sour cream. Sour cream in a plastic tube was ugh. More ingredients than hand lotion! Baby shrimp were just ok. Texture was odd. My wife received two large filets of flounder. They were ample and flavorful, but texturally reminded her of tilapia. Hmm. Coleslaw was good, but the thing that threw us was the hush puppies! They look like onion rings! Very tasty, though. The decor? Dated, dirty, and in need of a scrubbing! Ceiling tiles were droopy and stained, and some wallpaper was sagging with visible mold behind it. The nice Grecian mural had ketchup splatters, etc. for this reason, we won't be back.

So I went here on a Sunday by myself as I often do when I come to Columbia for business purposes. I ordered the scallop Alfredo and side salad, only to be completely underwhelmed. The interior decor was dated and looks cheap, the dishes and dinnerware are scratched and chipped up, and the staff acted entitled and inconvenienced because I said I would be dining alone. My server barely checked on me and rushed me through ordering and I had to wait a good while for refills. The salad was ok, I liked the fresh greens but was watery and soggy as if they just washed the romaine lettuce and didn't drain it at all. When my plate came the seafood was overcooked and rubbery, like they were microwaved after being frozen for a whole. the pasta was fine tasting but it was drenched in Alfredo sauce and was almost like a soup. I started eating it anyways and about 5 minutes into my entree I popped a scallop into my mouth, and was surprised to find TWO pieces of plastic off of a plastic food bag or something of the sort. It grossed me out so Much I could not continue eating and asked to speak with the manager. He at first acted like he didn't believe me and asked to see the plastic pieces, to which I showed him. He then explained it was harmless and probably fell in when they cut the bags that the oysters are in. He did apologize and comped my meal and wrote me a gift certificate for next time and sent me home with some DEVINE raspberry cheesecake, probably the best I've ever had! I requested that I still wanted to leave a tip for the waitress because I used to work good service and I know how it is. Nobody thanked me and I ended up waiting for a long time in line just to leave a tip. I will only be going back to spend my free gift certificate, and for the cheesecake. In my experience, it's just not worth going for any other reason.

I met family members here for one of their birthdays. Luckily I didn't have to pay. This place is nothing more than an independent version of Captain D's. Like other reviewers, I agree that the food is not greasy, but it's incredibly bland. The sweet tea tasted like it was old and starting to ferment. Instead of butter for baked potatoes all they had were little single serving cups of vegetable oil spread. The squirt bottles used for the tartar sauce had old crusted sauce all around the openings. But to top it off, we found two hairs on plates at a table of ten. I do not recommend wasting your money here.

While they have amazing deals and pretty good food, the service was terrible. As a server myself I understand that sometimes things happen, but my experience here there was no excuse for. My waitress not only regularly used curse words in talking to me and my date but also loudly up front while talking to other coworkers. Her cell phone rang while she was in the middle of the dining room and she answered it, right there in the dining room. We had to practically beg for refills and once we were done it took almost 20 minutes to get our check so we could leave. I used to frequent this restaraunt a few years ago and bragged about it to my date, we weren't impressed this time around. We are willing to give it another shot, hopefully that waitress will either be gone or have a much better attitude next time. On a side note: best hush puppies ever!

I don't know why these people are giving them five stars, because this seafood is horrible, you can tale that it is either frozen or out of a can. Maybe I am just to used to fresh food but I will never go there again, and it is too expensive. If the food was fresh and tasted a little better I wouldn't have mind paying for it. They only thing I can say that is good about it is that the service was good.

This is the type of place you'd go to if you're a fan of Captain D's and/or fried seafood. Keeping that in mind, the environment compliments the type of food it serves. It's well decorated according to it's theme, but it isn't the type of atmosphere that would impress your companion on your first date. You are seated by a hostess and served by a waitress. My group's expirience wasn't as great as many other reviews describe on the internet. Our waitress didn't seem like she wanted to be there, and she had to be asked to refill our drinks several times. The fountain soda (the coke and sprite) tasted funny according to two people in our group. On the bright side, the fried seafood platters were great and the portions were huge. Everything from the cole slaw to the clams strips were delicious. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for exotic seafood dishes or broiled fish.

Great Place to come if you are hungry and looking for great deals during lunch or after Church on Sundays. Friendly helpful staff, but that can be hit or miss. The food is great. A must try seafood spot in Columbia.

Service was good but the food was terrible. I got the shrimp and grits and it had no flavor at all. I tried adding salt and pepper but that didn't help. The grits were very watery. Everyone at the table had food left over and nobody wanted to take it home. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

This place is the worse. The staff is unprofessional, and the prices are ridiculous. The food however is "ok". NOT GREAT or GOOD just "ok". save your money and go else where.
