Really really good. A perfect treat for that special someone in your life. (Getting some Chocolate Nirvana for your girlfriend is a one-way ticket out of the dog house for guys like me.) Yes, as a below reviewer pointed out, this is not a bustling, eat-in shop. It's more of a order-ahead-and-pickup kind of joint. Fine by me. I've supplied several get-togethers with their chocolate cupcakes, and those little bad boys improved my social standing by several notches. They are out of this world delicious. The other items are sort of hit-or-miss; the pies and cakes are mostly excellent, but I found the chocolate croissant lacking any hint of buttery flakiness. It's hard to go wrong ordering from Chocolate Nirvana, but (just to be on the safe side) I'd stick to their mainstays rather than their occasional specials.

Not only did the Pineapple cheese cake and Lemon blackberry cup cakes hit the spot we decided to eat lunch here. Wonderful staff that will make you feel right at home when you sit down. The smoke Gouda and chicken quiche had a nice crust and tasted fantastic. I will be back to try more items next week !

I went for lunch and had the pork sandwich with potato salad, a chocolate nirvana cupcake, and a slice of German chocolate cake. The pork sandwich was messy but okay. The pork was cooked well but I had to disassemble the sandwich to eat it (way too messy and sticky to just pick up as presented). The potato salad was bland. The apricot coleslaw was too sweet for my tastes. The icing on the cupcake was grainy and the German chocolate cake was bland. The service was good, though, and my waitress was nice if rushed. The food came out quick and they offered black bean hummus and pita chips while I waited. Still, I didn't like the food so I won't be back.

Very pleased with lunch. Food was fresh and came out quickly. Service was outstanding. Best part, taking home dessert. Worst part, making the choice which one(s)!

Don't be mislead by its cute and enticing name or the exterior of the cakes. The cakes are nothing special, dry, and they refuse to do buttercream cakes. I would recommend Main Street Bakery any day if you are looking for a quick cake slice with a great selection, good customer service, at a decent price.

Ate here for the first time today and have a mixed review. The service was absolutely spot-on and we were served a little pita crisp & black-eyed pea hummus treat for free, which was delicious. The food we ordered was good--definitely get the apricot slaw side! And, I loved that everything (except salads) includes a side of a fruit. The homemade cheddar garlic biscuit is yummy and fresh tasting. My only food issue was with the entree--everyone at my table ordered the quiche of the day. The filling was just delicious, but the crust appeared to be a frozen one (the crust pattern looked a little too familiar from my own frozen crust purchases) and none of the four slices of quiche matched in size. The smallest was just about half the size of the largest--there is no reason to have that much inconsistency when cutting something pie-shaped! I had the Chocolate Nirvana cupcake, which was DIVINE. Super flavorful and fudgy, though I would have appreciated the cupcake liner having been removed for me, since getting sticky cake on my hands was not so appealing. All in all, it was an OK experience; the location is really just not pleasant and the expensive art-for-sale decor is a bit odd with the acoustic tile ceiling and track lighting. I wouldn't make the drive from my side of town just to go there, but I would eat there again if I happened to be in the area.

They're Godiva cake isn't a good cake. The cake is pretty dry. I went in When they first opened and they gave me a frozen slice....the whipped cream part tasted like bland frozen ice cream. It was not worth driving and paying 4-5 dollars for a slice. I think silver spoon has better chocolate cake than this and it's way bigger. I don't know how anyone can give this place a 5 star rating for thawed out desserts.

Great Godiva cake!! I was a little bumned today when I drove by and saw they had moved out to Ft. Jackson Blvd. But I guess the internet takes a while to catch go with new addresses. Anyway, the cakes I buy are always fresh and delicious. Make sure you try different fillings instead of just vanilla is chocolate. You won't be disappointed!

Food was not bad, but the service was terrible. Don't meet anyone there because they will not seat you until your entire group has arrived. There is no place to sit while you wait so you end up standing by the dessert case dodging waiters. I complained to the hostess or person of authority who literally threw our drink straws at the table. I see no reason to ever go back when we have the Silver Spoon, Cupcake, Mr. Friendly's, Basil and the Mediterranean Tea Room in the same neighborhood.

Don't judge a book by the cover. The cute exterior was misleading. I drive by Chocolate Nirvana almost every day on the way home from work and finally decided to pop in to grab something special to have after dinner. The outside of the bakery is cute and I was happy to finally get to see the inside. I was disappointed. There was no one inside (it rarely looks like anyone is ever there) and the selection was minimal. There were a handful of cupcakes in a few flavors and some cakes that they sell by the slice. I bought 2 pieces of cake to take home. They were nothing special. I've had much better. I won't be going back. There was nothing there to entice me back. The ambiance was lacking, the staff was perfunctory at best and the actual desserts were just alright. Insomnia Cookies in 5pts. has delicious cupcakes and Miyo's has the best coconut cake I've ever tasted. Well, the best cake period that I've ever tasted.

Chocolate Nirvana is a nice find for dessert options in Columbia. It's a bit off the beaten path, but GPS made locating the small corner bakery easy enough. Unlike other bakeries that specialize in cupcakes, Chocolate Nirvana makes individual-size portion desserts that aren't overly sweet or overly large. I don't know if it's their flour less recipe or ganache topping that makes them so moist and delicious, but it sure beats dry and crumbly experienced at other bakeries from Columbia to Hilton Head. They have a small selection of flavors each day, but will take your order days before if you want your favorite. Recommend you try them out.

Their chocolate desserts are out of this world. Expensive, but worth every dollar.
