There for the first time just recently after having it recommended by my sister and parents, I agree with their assessment. It's a terrific choice for an offbeat local restaurant/bar. What for sure sets it apart from other nearby restaurants is their tradition of encouraging customers to donate to a local animal shelter by signing a dollar bill with their pet's name and then having those bills pinned up on the ceiling. It's a unique take on raising money for a worthwhile cause. While there, I ordered a cocktail (Cosmopolitan I believe) which was ok but nothing special. Sitting at the bar was fun. The bartendress was attentive and actually brought my food in surprisingly short order. The Pork Quesadilla that I ordered was absolutely delicious. Three different BBQ dipping sauces accompanied it (two of which I really liked). I'll definitely go back there again. I hear they have a great Sunday brunch.

Food is from the freezer especially the kids meals. Service takes forever. Don't go if in a rush or if you are looking for something spectacular. Dog area outside is kinda cute, may be a good choice for a local bar but food is thumbs down.

Terrible service, worst ever. Told management - didn't care, owner didn't care. Food isn't that good. Don't support them.

I have been here before, but it has been awhile. I enjoyed a beautiful afternoon on the outside patio with a friend and dog. What a treat for the dogs! They can play in the fenced in area, and they even get treats! The bottomless mimosas were just right. For food, we tried the zucchini sticks which were perfectly fried, and absolutely delicious. We then had burgers. Mine had pepper jack cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms. This was one of the best burgers that I have eaten in a long time! The burger was juicy and full of flavor. The burger comes topped with fried onions. In addition, chips and salsa come as a side. You can upgrade for fries or sweet potato fries. I will definitely return to Parson Jack's for drinks/dinner and I would love to try the brunch!

We wanted to eat in Charleston for lunch. We got to the downtown area about 1 pm, prime time lunch time and there was no place without a 45 minute or more wait. So we decided to go on and find someplace that wasn't in the downtown area. I remember that we got fried pickles and I got a chicken- ranch wrap and my girlfriend got a salad. I had to say that it wasn't very memorable, not bad, but just OK. They have an outdoor seating area for you to sit with your dog, and you can order something for them as well.

We really liked the place. Fairly typical sports bar with lots of TVs, lots of seating and good service to boot. Read the story of Parson Jack on the back cover of the menu and you'll see why the place is devoted to dog lovers. Again, typical bar food, but lots of choices that are all nicely priced and tasty. A number of very good beers on tap. The only negative was the sweet potato fries were thin and over done. There is also an outside seating area that is fenced to bring your dog and let him/her mingle with other dogs. Will definitely stop in again.

Amazing atmosphere and food ! Pet friendly on the patio . Great story behind the Parson Jacks name, and they donate all the money on the ceiling to animal friendly charities. Definitely try the fried zucchini app.

Came here for dinner with a small group of people and was not really impressed. We had the fried pickles for an appetizer and I knew I was going to be impressed when I saw how lightly colored the batter was, they were super greasy. I ordered the veggie burger for dinner and was once again disappointed, the only decent thing about the meal were my fries which I ate all of. They were nice and crispy. The other folks I was with seemed to enjoy their meals but I was very unimpressed. The decor in here was also very strange, money all over the ceiling and while normally I enjoy an eclectic atmosphere, here it just felt slightly dirty.

Parson Jack's has become our new neighborhood go to. The first time we ate here it was packed. We had to wait for a table. I think there was some kind of open mic or acoustic musician playing, but there was a good crowd. The past few times that we have been it's been very slow. Only one or two other tables and a few people up at the bar. Not sure what's up with that, but we've had nothing but pleasant experiences every time. The menu is pretty well rounded for your average neighborhood restaurant/bar. A good selection of appetizers including the Magic Mushrooms. These come in an option of fried or baked. I've always had them fried and they are full of cheesey goodness. My faovrite part of Parson Jack's is the bottomless fries. They fries are crispy and almost taste battered. Don't get all sad when you get a small portion on your plate because you have as many as you'd like. Parson Jack's is very dog friendly if you couldn't tell from the get go. Bring your pup and eat outside in the fenced in patio. Let Rover roam around and take a nap in the doghouse. Inside is completely decked out in dog decor. This plays defintely pays homage to the dogs loved by many. The menu raves about their famous Reuben. I have yet to try it, but it is definitely on the list. Mondays are $5 Burger Night

Parson Jack's has always been one of our go to places in West Ashley - it is close, has a cool vibe and offers a variety of food. I love that they are so dog friendly - they have a little outside seating area that is fenced in and they will bring out water for your pup. There are many things to choose from on the menu, so it is hard to make up your mind! For starters, the fried zucchini and stuffed mushrooms are must haves. The mushrooms are HUGE and so good. They have several tasty sandwiches - Reuben, Buffalo Chicken, Steak, Turkey Club, but the best is the Philly french dip. Someone orders this every time we go. They have make your own burgers, chicken sandwiches and pizzas which is great for picky eaters. My favorite item is the chicken tenders and fries - I get them dipped in teri-hot sauce and of all the places I have ordered this, PJ's is still the best I've had! My only complaint is that sometimes the live music can be really loud, but if you sit outside or a little farther away it is not too bad. **update for visit on 8/22/15 - we went in at 930pm and made sure they were still serving. Apparently the server wasn't pleased that another table came in. She was not friendly at all and it seemed she wanted to rush us out of there (we were not the only table). My friend had to get up and get a drink from the bar b/c our server took so long to come back at one point. Our fried pickles app came with enough sauce/dip for one pickle. It was comical. We asked another server if we could get another container and she told us she was not our waitress but she would talk to ours (gee, thanks). I got buffalo tenders which were tossed in the wrong sauce, but I was fine with it. My friend got the chicken nachos and they didn't taste good and were very skimpy on the cheese & toppings. My other friend got wings and we both had to ask for ranch/blue cheese since none came with the wings or tenders and the server never asked. This visit definitely put a bad taste in my mouth.

Wow! I was expecting a small little cafe with a tiny bar. When I walked in I was presently surprised by the cozy decorations, the huge space, the regular 'townie' bar customers and the welcoming staff. Then I looked at their expansive menu and decided this has to be one of my new fav places to grab a drink after work. I got the Thai salad which was huge and tasty. My friends got 9 wings for $5!!! They have a great special every night, and I heard even their pizzas are good. The best part is they let me bring my dog inside the bar...she just chilled under my barstool and no one said a thing! All the dollars on the ceiling are donated annually to charities for animals. Will definitely be back!

We went back to Parson Jack's tonight, and it's still a 4 star restaurant. All of us loved our food but the service is a little lacking. I almost wonder if they have high turnover or something? The dollar bills are still all over the ceiling and our guests were really amused by that. It took forever for us to get our food tonight, despite having orders that weren't complicated and the restaurant wasn't crowded (we went the day before Thanksgiving). The food is delicious and great for the price. Portions are large and I love the veggie burger- the patty is crispy and the sauteed peppers and zucchini on it are great! We all love the food, but the service truly keeps it from being a 5 star sports bar/restaurant.

I really enjoy parson jacks! You can bring your dog here which is also a plus. You can't go wrong with their bottomless fries! Gah my mouth is watering now just thinking of em. I usually get the salmon sandwich and always have leftovers. The reason they lost a star is because some days the waitresses wear shorts that are a wee bit too tight and short. I do not want to see butt while eating. Anyway I suggest this place to anyone who wants good a good place to hang out and I would suggest the bottomless chips and fries! Best fries ever:)

I live nearby, so I've come in to this place a handful of times just for convenience, but all I'll say is that every time, without fail, it has been the SLOWEST service ever. Food is decent, but nothing to counteract that poor timing.

Best wings in town and bartenders are amazing & personable! Love the owners! The music is great. You can bring your dogs on the outside patio. They have bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary's on Saturdays and Sunday's. The list could go on!
