This may not be the best INN in the best part of town, however they were incredibly accommodating and would do business with them in a heartbeat. A few of the Pros: The Inn is just a short walk from the historic district in Charleston Off-Street Parking PET FRIENDLY (YAY!) Reasonably priced we were upgraded to a larger room for free due to a vacancy Lots of good food and drinks for you to grab from the fridge THE MOST COMFORTABLE BED I'VE SLEPT IN IN A LONG TIME! Free WiFi Amazing restaurant right across the street CONS: Do not stay here if you do not want to be greeted with the smell of horse manure when you exit the building. It is located right next to the stables for the horse and carriage tours of the city, and although you cannot smell the horses from inside, you definitely can as soon as you walk out the door.

I spent HOURS researching the many B&B's of Historic Charleston and landed on Palmers Pinkney Inn for 3 reasons: location, price & acceptance of dogs. After driving 8 hours to check in, we learned that the family who checked out that morning had never moved their car. Problem is that there is very little parking in the area and we (current guests) had no where to go. We asked the inn keep if our street/garage parking be reimbursed for our troubles. The answer was "No I can't do anything and here is the # for the owner (Francis Palmer)." After some cordial (yes, cordial) back and forth, the woman working the desk said that the owner would be right over to talk to us. At the owners arrival, we both introduced ourselves and shook her hand. At which time she says, "please leave, the cops are on their way, I will issue a refund." She proceeded to be a NASTY woman....clearly she inherited this property (it's true, look at the website) and never had to work for a reputation! Just a witch. My husband and I are respectable citizens and part of the US Military. We did nothing wrong but try to correct a glitch in our sour check in. We absolutley couldn't believe what we were hearing! and experiencing. Yes, any owner has a right to refuse business but where is this coming from!? As we packed our car (illegally parked), the police did show up (walked past us). 1 week later, we still don't get it but in the end, the jokes on Francis Palmer, in 5 minutes, were able to re-book a much nicer and CLEANER hotel for less money. Other notable cons: This place needs work, it's very run down and not clean! The driveway is very narrow, just park and stay put (unless you checked out).

I had been wanting to travel to Charleston for a long time and when i saw the deal on LivingSocial in July I had to get it! We stayed in the upstairs room closest to the street and we were not disturbed by any other guests or the street noise (but we didnt spend a whole lot of time in the room). The room was perfect for our two night stay and I was so happy to have my own bathroom! I loved getting up in the morning and checking out the horses on either side of the inn. The inn is also in the perfect location - close enough to walk to everything. The walk to the Palmer House for breakfast and wine wasnt bad, I quite enjoyed checking everything out early in the morning (breakfast was delicious!)

This was our first bed and breakfast experience as well as our first time in Charleston. Cindy and Connie the innkeepers were friendly, informative, and very helpful. We stayed in the Cottage Room and enjoyed breakfast each morning looking over the Charleston Harbor at the Palmer Home. The swings at the waterfront park are fabulous and we enjoyed our stroll through the market. We took a carriage tour with Old Towne Carriage Co. (the one closest to Palmer's Pinckney Inn). The tour was very informative and a great way to view the city and learn the history behind many of the sites. This was a great experience and allowed us to be within walking distance of all of the sites, restaurants, and shops. Great experience and would definitely recommend!!

Pros: close to the Market and downtown, great staff, plentiful snacks, beautiful room and period inn. Con's: can be noisy close to street late at night and early in the morning, next to carriage stables, no hot breakfast (you have to walk 0.8 of a mile to their flagship Inn at the East Battery and pay another $5 for a hot breakfast which was very good.)
