Like most, I'm a little skeptical of shopping center restaurants. But, we actually have quite a few good ones in Charleston! Jason's Deli is one of those. When you walk in, it's nothing too special to look at. Definitely a casual lunch spot for great sandwiches, soup and salad. They have a variety of sandwiches, plus a create-your-own options, soups, salads, combos and kids meals. There are also a variety of desserts and FREE ice cream! Unlike some of those other delis out there (you know which ones I'm talked about), Jason's isn't afraid to pack on the ingredients in your sandwich or wrap. Lots of meat and cheese for your money :) Menu Highlights: Club Royale Cuban Press Hot Pastrami Did I mention the free ice cream? Salad bar They also do a great job at catering. My office orders some platters from them every now and again. It also says leaps and bounds about the food that this lightly decorated, no frills deli has survived with the shiny new East Bay Deli location right across the street.

The staff are always friendly, but the ordering process is so slow and doesn't ever seem to be very organised any more. There were several staff walking around as only one register was operational for customers. She was super nice but almost too nice. When the line is growing, you have to get customers through. Why didn't any of the other staff (and manager) sign in to help her when things got behind? Not impressed recently and I had hoped it was just growing pains as they tried for improvement. At this point, I'm not so sure that there isn't something deeper causing these issues. I enjoy the food every time, but hope the initial interactions will improve to get the customers through quicker.

Regardless of what city you are in Jason's Deli is a staple for a family lunch or dinner, solo or for a quick work lunch. That scene is no different in this Charleston location that offers what downtown locations can't: free, ample parking. This spot is a few miles outside of downtown allowing for a quick, easy, affordable lunch before being a tourist for the day. As always, the salad bar rocks, sandwiches are solid, soups are good and a potato is enough to feed a horse.

I ate at this location the other day. The staff was great. All very friendly and the location was clean from what I could see. My boyfriend ordered the salad bar and a cup of soup. I ordered a plain jane baked potato. I have had better plain Jane's this one was good though. Usually this potato is big enough to eat the other half later. These things are usually big enough to be 2 meals at least at the other Jason's locations I have been to. Either I was starving or it wasn't that big or possibly delicious but I ate it all. My boyfriend really enjoyed his salad bar. He also scrapped the bowl clean of his soup. we ate some gruit from the bar which was fresh and tasty. We also had a delicious ice cream cone. I live soft serve in sugar cones so I always like this perk. You can eat as many as you want but we just had one. They have vanilla swirl and chocolate. It was proced well. i think the plain jane is 7.59 and the salad bar was 7.99. They had spinach and peas on it as well as other things so not just iceberg and ranch. I dont usually do buffet/bar style food because paranoia about people sneezing in the food or somethin but if it is your thing go for it. It looked fresh and a worker was there almost constantly keeping it clean. Service was fast but we were there when it wasn't busy. my vote try it.

I was surprised to see Jason's review higher than east bay across the street. First off, Jason's is a chain so expect chain food. Standard soups, sandwiches and salads are offered and they are okay. I'm never going to crave a sandwich from Jason's if ya get the idea. Moving on to service, they are very accommodating to large crowds. You order at the cash register and sit at your table with a number for your food. There is a salad bar and the best bonus is free ice cream which no one can deny free ice cream. Overall if you have a large crowd looking for lunch, Jason's is an okay option but there is a lot more better eats in charleston.

Based out of Texas and spanning across 29 states, Jason's Deli is popular among tens of thousands of people including my family and me. They offer a tremendous array of deli sandwiches that include more unique choices than I've found at similar restaurants. True to my hopes, it was a fantastic choice. Today I ordered the Caprese Panini (inspired by a Roman panini with thick slices of fresh mozzarella, Roma tomatoes, and pesto sauce). Typically I order a side of fruits instead of potato chips. Unlike some restaurants, here they allow me to choose what specific fruits I would like (just strawberries in my case which I find larger than the typical strawberry). They also provide a sweet yogurt style dipping sauce for the strawberries which is delicious. Here they also offer a pomegranate blueberry sports drink (with electrolytes and real cane sugar) among their fountain drink lineup which is really good. Everyone works very diligently and seems politely attentive. Their desserts are also terrific (such as the Cranberry Walnut Oatmeal Cookie). Complimentary all you can eat vanilla or chocolate ice cream comes with any meal purchase - a huge plus. Finally, at the end of your meal, it's really nice that their staff clears your table for you.

What can I say? I really like this place. I haven't been in a while and things have changed. Most noticably was that there's no longer a cashier but a self paying checkout counter in the middle of the isle. The food here is a little pricey but then again I don't mind it for food that I know is going to be good. I like to try different things and this place has alot of choices. My go to meal is either soup & salad or half-sandwhich and half either one else. This time I got a soup and salad. I tried the beef stew which at first glance was not appetizing but once you get in there it was amazing. Tasty flavorful and reminded me of a home cooked stew. My only issue was that I didn't taste any meat until the end which I didn't realize there was a big piece of meat that i missed at the bottom of my cup. It was worth it once I got to it though. Let me tell you. The salad was a help yourself kinda deal which I think I always put mor than I need to on the plate when I don't have to since the plate is pretty large to start with. There are lots to choose from so take your time an let the friendly staff help you make up your mind. This place has lots of room for the crowds that they get so don't worry you'll get a seat.

Local friends took us here - they have lived here forever and one is a policeman - they know the good spots! So good! LOVED the salad bar - totally fresh, clean and lots of options : sunflower seeds to green olives, humus, quinoa salad (yum!). I had to ask for artichokes (stoked they were even an option!) and mushrooms to be replenished but it was busy so not a big deal - they brought them out quick. Hubby got the Mufalata - some olive spread was AMAZING. BIG portion and he got the 1/2 size and even left 1/4 of the portion on the plate. Kids item $3.99 includes a drink. My kids ate the alfredo and chicken - but they were not super excited about it... they were more excited about mommy's salad bar - my kids are awesome! I shared my beets and whole hard boiled eggs. Free soft serve ice cream - tip - make a root beer float!

No no no! Went here the other day and the only thing good was the salad bar. Oh and you get a free ice cream cone! I ordered the broccoli and cheddar soup and it took about 20 mins to come out. They said they had to heat it in the microwave! Really!? And the taste... Gross! It tasted liked pure butter and my boyfriend got the French dip and the dip sauce was basically liquid salt! Will not be going back!

I love that I can place my order online and it is a pretty easy process. They are quick and pretty cheap. Such a great variety of options. Soup is always a good choice (potato, broccoli cheese, french onion are favorites). They have salads (big salad bar), huge loaded potatoes, and so many sandwiches to choose from. I just got the Smoky Jack Panini (Smoked turkey breast, bacon, pepper jack, guacamole, Roma tomatoes, Thousand Island dressing) - SO good!

Wow! What a disaster.. Me and 2 other co workers ordered the same thing, chicken club bacon salad with ranch, and we all got horrible food poisoning. One of my co workers called and complained, obviously, we were supposed to get free meals, ya know because we got sick, we decided to give them another shot, man was I disappointed. I ordered a salad again different one, mixed berry salad with RANCH, not only did I not get my ranch but I also didn't receive any utensils. What was I supposed to eat with? My hands??? And no dressing? Really? You guys lost our business, not that we matter though.

The customer service here is beyond great!!! They fixed my order according to my dietary needs, and when they made a mistake they fixed it no questions asked! Every time I come here I am impressed by the friendly staff... The foods pretty good too.

SO, I have mixed feelings about Jason's Deli. The food is awesome & free ice crean (YAY). However, when I get take-out I usually end up with the wrong thing. So, the food is delicious, just make sure you end up with what you actually wanted. Also, avoid it on Sundays if you don't like massive crowds of people!

While visiting my parents, we offer to take them out to eat, and they choose... Jason's Deli. Really? Of all the places on the map, they want to go to eat at Jason's? It's not to say that there's anything exactly wrong with the place, but come on. There are so many other choices unique to Charleston. That out of the way, if you want a sandwich and/or salad, it's a good choice. But if you want a good meal, it's not high on my list, and because of that, Jason's suffers from comparison. The food is healthy, the staff is friendly, but it's a chain deli. This isn't a corner deli - it's a model that they emulate in multiple locations. They do well enough, and it's better than copies such as McAlister's, but it's not a real deli. Healthier? No doubt. But not a real one.

Have tried Jason's twice now. I like the cuban and the pastrami. Tender and lean meats. But I just discovered their salad bar. Really good. Fresh and lots of variety.

Can't give a good review. My baked potato was great as usual, and my sons turkey and cheese was good. My husband however ordered a beefeater which gave us some grief. First it came out and was only half a sandwich, which was odd (he orders this regularly at our local Texas Jason's). We assumed they somehow got our order wrong, but I checked and we paid for a full. Then my husband took a bite and the sandwich was literally cold (its supposed to be hot). So I reluctantly brought the half sandwich to the counter. I said that it was cold, and he took the sandwich. Then I asked if it was a half, and he said that yes, they had dropped the other half and it was coming. They didn't say anything when they dropped off the food which I thought was weird. When we got the replacement sandwich, it wasn't cold but it wasn't hot as it should be, and on the second bite it was found to be funky meat. They may have retoasted the cold half. Not good.

Stopped in for dessert after walking around Charleston all day. It was clearly a very popular place, and after checking out the menu, I'd definitely want to come back for actual food sometime. I had the strawberry shortcake, Dad opted for cheesecake. The shortcake was excellent - they used actual shortcake; which, ironically, you don't come across frequently, as most places use a pound cake. It was fresh and delicious. The cheesecake was very average, but still good. I also had a bottle of cream soda from a brand I've never heard of, but it might have been the best bottle of cream soda I've ever had.

Jason's is the best. Hands down. We don't have one in Savannah (bc Savannah sucks) but when I'm in Charleston, I always always always stop here. Club Royale is my favorite! Too bad I'm diabetic or I would get the *free* ice cream they offer while you wait - maybe I can ask for some free soup next time? Anyway, don't go to Atlanta Bread or Panera or some place like that (and I like Atlanta Bread, but it's no match for Jason's Deli). Just, if you want a sandwich, go here!

  • Brett S.

This is a deli that offers a wide choice of salads and sandwich's at a reasonable price. I had a roast beef sandwich on a onion roll with blue corn chips. My wife had a cup of soup (Chili) and the salad bar. The salad bar comes with a yogurt machine for a dessert. Ambiance is a bit of a drawback. Think cafeteria and you have it about right.
