Reviews:
I cannot say enough good things about this lovely little restaurant. I found it on Yelp and thought it looked good from the pictures so we drove from Columbia to Cayce to try it. We were very, very impressed! The dining area is very nice, and we were the only ones eating in on a Friday evening, although there were many people coming in to get take-out. Our waitress was so cute and sweet, and kept coming back to talk to us. Another nice lady came over and introduced herself (possibly the owner). I like how they offer a lot of things that other Chinese restaurants do not have. We ordered the dumplings, which were very good! The entrees were delicious as well and were plated very nicely. Excellent service, great atmosphere and food, and good prices. We will definitely be coming back!
Very friendly staff. Generous helpings. Crab Rangoon hand made. Hibachi food pretty good. Order on or take home.
It's good to have a good pick up option near your home. Unfortunately, I like Chinese food way more than my wife. This was our third time getting take out from Chen's and it is always good. I have a go-to, which is broccoli and garlic sauce, from my college days as a vegetarian, and Chen's is the best I've had in Columbia. I've had it at other places here in town and it was all stalks. Chen's was an abundance of florets and it was delicious. My wife dances around the menu never knowing what she REALLY likes cause we don't eat it enough. She's had the General Tso's chicken (good), the Bourbon chicken (not my thing at any Chinese place), and last night her childhood favorite Sweet & Sour Chicken. It was awesome. She loved the pork fried rice too. We share the steamed dumplings as an appitizer and they were top knotch. Nice, fast, friendly staff. Truely a blessing in Cayce!

I don't typically bother with chain stores and franchises (as they're all generally pretty similar), but as mobile applications (such as Yelp for Android/iPhone) increase in popularity, I thought I would fill in the few I saw missing for those users in search of nearby locations. This is probably some of the most prompt and competent service I've received in some time. And the food was brought to me as soon as it was ready (which was just a brief wait, giving me time to prepare my drink, get sauces, etc), and piping hot. Better get here early, though! I ate at 11 and the seats were quickly filled! Either there are a lot of fish lovers in the Cayce area, or the secret about the exceptional service is not so secret...
I don't care what anyone says, I love this place. Not sure why this place gets a bad rap, I guess fast food seafood just doesn't appeal to most folks. I'm not a big fish eater, but I love their fish, probably because it tastes more like deliciously fried bread than fish. The clams are are another fave, and the shrimp is alright too. Also their customer service is outstanding, they don't mind if your coupons are expired either.
I was extremely impressed with the customer service of this location! Smiles everywhere! We came in on the 4th of July, very thankful to finally find something that was open. We were greeted in the front by a very welcoming man who was mopping the lobby but was very friendly to us and stopped what he was doing to chat with us. When we got up to the counter to order we were welcomed by more smiling and friendly staff. They were also very patient while we looked over the menu board. The food was great! I got fried fish and shrimp with double fried okra. When we sat down a young man that worked there came to our table asking of someone else had left there phone at the counter. It was my Note 4! Silly of me! I was so thankful! Back home in FL, it would had been sold twice already! Later on we were checked on again to make sure everything was ok. Absolutely exceptional service, especially for a fast food establishment. The food was really good too, the way it was fried was nice and crispy. I was also impressed that the fountain beverage options included Strawberry Soda and Mello Yello!

Sub Station II

I love this place! It's the best place to get subs in Columbia. Everyone here is so friendly and helpful. Very affordable place that's fast and great for the whole family! Definitely would recommend this place to EVERYONE.
I love this place, don't know why there are so few reviews---the place is always packed. Great cold cuts! Number 19 is off the hook and the pellet ice, sweet tea and special cucumbers are like icing on top. Better than subway and much better than Jimmy Johns. Give it a whirl.
Service is always fast and friendly here and the subs I've had here have all tasted really fresh. Try the roast beef sub all the way with ghost pepper jack cheese if you like spicy foods, and if you're not sure, they'll give you a free taste of the cheese before you choose an order. Seating isn't updated, but has always seemed clean. Even so, I usually take my subs to go. This place is a lunch favorite for me - small sub for about $6, large (and it'll be huge) for $8 or $9.

The Kingsman Restaurant

Reviews:
Very nice quality steaks, delicious Thousand Island salad dressing. There is little atmosphere and you wait by the door until a table opens up, to seat yourself. I keep going back again and again for the Ribeye steak, beef tips and very good value.
My boyfriend really liked this place, but I didn't. I think what happened is that I ordered the wrong thing. This was probably the worst Philly cheesesteak that I have ever had. I wasn't really a fan of the onion rings either. I did have a bite of my boyfriends ribeye burger, and it was pretty good, also his fries were good too!
As a Cayce-West Columbia native I've been eating at the Kingsman for as long as I can remember. I've been there through the ups and downs, but usually it is only on the up and up. The Kingsman has one of the best ribeye steaks in the state for 1/2 the price of what you'd pay at a steak house or national chain. On Thursday nights it the special and even cheaper! Each steak is always hand cut and cooked to perfection. Come early on Thursday as this is a well known fact and they tend to run out close to 9:00. Strips and tips is my go too other nights. Yummy steak tips, grilled chicken, and mushrooms and onions is just divine. The Hamburger steak (add mushrooms, onions, and peppers) is good too. You have to try the "Taz's Taters" best side for any meat and potato guy/gal. The burgers are great too. In the last year or two they have a special house ground ribeye burger special every night. Make sure you check the special board. Cold beer, cheap good food, served with a side of southern hospitality. Can't beat this place!

I have been here at least 6 times since they opened. The staff is very friendly and the Jerk Chicken, Rice with Peas and plantains are wonderful. I hate to admit it but, I have not made it past the Jerk Chicken because it is soooo good. I plan on trying the curried goat on the next trip. It is off the beaten path but it is worth the effort.
Skyaa's is a new restaurant that has opened in the Cayce area by the railroad tracks. It's pretty much in an isolated place. It's connected to a mini-mart. It's not a place you would normally stop.....unless you knew how amazing the food is! It's a Jamaican Caribbean place with the best island food anywhere around. We've tried many Jamaican restaurants but this one is definitely at the top of my list. The place is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly and attentive. They do have a full bar set up now. Drinks are very reasonable priced too. For dinner I had Jerk Chicken, Rice and Peas, and Mixed Vegetables. It was SO GOOD!!! I cleaned my plate and licked my fingers too. (I know that's rude manners). But the Jerk Chicken is the best I've ever had .... even better than you get in Jamaica. My husband had Jerk Chicken, Rice and Peas, and Plantains. His meal was just as wonderful as mine. I got the small platter and he got the large. The food is priced so well. So this place has Great Food, Great Prices, and Reasonably Priced Drinks! There's just nothing I can say negative about the food, restaurant, or service. I hope this place is here to stay permanently!! This is a nice hidden jewel in Columbia. I HIGHLY recommend it if your in the mood for some great food. They do offer some specials on certain nights. 10 wings and 6 beers are $10. Or 10 shrimp and 6 beers are $10. How do you beat those prices? I took some pictures for you to look at. I also took pictures of the menu. Please give this place a try. You'll definitely be coming back!!!
Great food and service. We went on a Friday after work. Dreary rainy day, the music picked up our moods. Now to the food excellent. .we had oxttail..yummy The jerk chicken and Jamaican ginger beer ...all great Do yourself a favor. .go by..check em out!

Vella’s Restaurant & Tavern

829 Knox Abbott Dr,Ste A
Cayce, 29033
Reviews:
We recently visited Vella's on a Saturday afternoon for a early dinner, us and some friends -- 4 adults and 4 young kids. It was my family's first time (our friends live nearby and strongly recommended Vella's) and we really enjoyed ourselves. Both inside and outside, Vella's looks a bit like a hole in the wall. Frankly, I like that -- some of the best food I've ever had came from holes in the wall! It reminded me a lot of a restaurant I loved in Indiana, and so I felt very much at home. I ordered French onion soup, and a mushroom swiss burger. The soup was salty, but otherwise well-made. The burger was AMAZING, with barbecue sauce and bacon in addition to the mushrooms and swiss cheese. Their cole slaw is great, and I loved the "raw fries" (homemade potato chips). The kids each liked their various kids meals. I got to taste a few bites of my friend's mozzarella sticks (best I've ever had) and honey barbecue wing (delish!). The husbands took advantage of a 2-ribeyes-for-$20 special of the day, and were both extremely pleased. Overall, this was a yummy dining experience in a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere. Our server was cheerful and helpful (not always easy when there are 4 kids at the table needing extra napkins and occasionally spilling water everywhere) and helped make the outing fun. We'll definitely be back -- for lunch on our own, or for dinner with the kids!
Well.... I was disappointed coming here. I used to come here a lot in college. Lots of good memories here. I got the prime rib sandwich ... Their Friday night special. The sandwich was pretty good with the exception of the big piece of fat in it. The cold slaw was FULL of mayo. The raw fries were shining with grease. I never could find a crisp one. The service was slack. We kept looking for our waitress. I would have had more drinks at least with better service. Maybe then the fries might not have tasted so greasy. We even complained about them to the waitress.... She could have cared less. Prices are good. Service was slack. And raw fries were pitiful. It may be a while before we return.
The beer is cheap. The prime rib sandwich was great. The raw fries were dripping with grease and overlooked. Did I mention the beer was cheap. This may be the only bar sporting 19" tube TVs...... Did I mention the beer was cheap.

Let's get down to brass tax here, this place has an outstanding burger called State street. Cooked medium rare as all meat should be in this world. I really enjoyed it with a huge helping of curly fries doused in four monks malt vinegar. The portion was pretty decent and filled this country boy up. My wife said the pulled pork w apple slaw was on the money too. With burgers so damn good I doubt I'll order anything different. Job well done sirs ! The king of Columbia approves.
This is a great place to grab a burger. The atmosphere is good, Gamecock themed and i am a fan. Do wish they had regular or sweet potato fries but they don't offer any. Blue Cowboy burger is my goto.
First time here, one if the best burgers I've ever had. I will be back. Bartender John Bliss was really cool too.
