This relaxed restaurant and tequila lounge is absolutely amazing...plan to spend at least a couple of hours here enjoying drinks and the fabulous food the highlights of my evening were the Anejo Crush cocktail and the Salud Margarita...followed by their guacamole fresco, shrimp ceviche as appetizers. My entree was was incredible I highly recommend the burrito loco with some refried beans as a compliment to the dish as a whole. Then cap the night off we finished with the fried cheesecake dessert. I give Saluda

Great ambiance!!!! Beautiful decor. Started off with mango habanero ceviche, guacamole, one tamale and a cheese dip. Ceviche is amazing. Guacamole is amazing. The tamale wasn't what I was expecting but if I would have bothered reading I would have seen it was just corn and no meat. Still pretty good. I ordered the tilapia tacos. Very good. Salsa was superb. Highly recommend this one.

For a Mexican place in this location this is a 5 star. Had lunch today and it was a great experience. I was mid-afternoon so just a few other customers were there. The waiter was very attentive I ordered a margarita - Coyota which was fresh juices and jalapeño syrup. Spicy and fantastic. No premade mix here! I had tacos lal pastor for the meal at the waiters recommendation. 2 corn tortillas with pork. Cilantro, and grilled pineapple. It came with a said and I chose a guac salad (nice to have that option). I added some of the salad and salsa to the tacos and they were excellent. The lunch version was $7.50 and a deal for authentic Mexican food

COOL Atmosphere in this repurposed, exposed beam and brick building. The service was spot on and there were plenty of servers/food runners. The food was fresh and delicious. I ordered the chicken Ensalada Saluda and it was by far the best taco salad ever. The chicken was freshly grilled and chopped, not shredded. Delicious. My son had Crab Enchiladas and he loved them. It was a lot of food. My daughter had Burritos de Pollo and she nearly ate them both. Again, it was a lot of food. We all are picky about dining out and these guys have it going on. Camden's secret little gem.

I was recommend this restaurant by a friend from Arizona, who stated that this was"real" Mexican food. Being from Southern California I know "real" Mexican food, but so does Arizona... So I figured I would give it a try. I was not disappointed!! The salsa and food was amazing. My husband ordered crab enchiladas and they were absolutely delicious! I got fish tacos, which were good, but my husbands dish was better. For those of you that are tequila lovers they have the largest selection I have ever seen. I could go on and on about this restaurant and it's fun atmosphere, but you really have to go try it yourself. :) They even have Coca Cola from Mexico!

Ok. This is definitely my favorite Mexican place north of Mexico! I've had several meals but let me tell you about the last lunch I had there. Burrito Veracruz- One burrito with sauteed shrimp, onions and red peppers topped with queso sauce, avocado and pico and a side of black beans for $8.00. It was huge and I could have split it with my gf if I was being such a piggie. I would also recommend the simplest margarita on the menu to begin such meal. The ingredients are fresh in the food and the drinks. Don't be overwhelmed by the great selection of either...just come back and enjoy something different each time! I love sitting at the bar (although the chairs are a bit heavy to move around so once you get situated stay for awhile) when there is just two of us. It is fun to watch the bartenders making all those crazy margaritas! The atmosphere in general is nice and the decor takes you far away from the feel of Broad Street straight to a breezy Spanish cafe. Besides the bar, I've gathered with friends for appetizers and flights of tequila. There are couches for for a comfy hang out atmosphere upstairs or round booths downstairs. I'm ready to go back right now.

Some friends and I enjoyed a great lunch there Saturday. The food was cooked to order, not fast food, the atmosphere is fabulous. Located inside a galleria with specialty shops and more, it's quaint and very inviting. fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamai… fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamai… fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamai…

Salud is a hidden jewel in downtown Camden. Great atmosphere. Fantastic service. Excellent food. Reasonably priced. My wife and I eat here at least once a week. I highly recommend. It is not your typical Mexican food.

We've eaten here a few times and have had great meals each time. Food is fresh and tasty.

The atmosphere is great and the service staff is wonderful. Unfortunately the food is some of the worst Mexican cuisine that I have ever had. The beef is bland, unseasoned, salty and taste like cheap frozen steak-ums. The chicken has absolutely no taste at all. Their plating is terrifying. Nothing looks appetizing on your plate. They will place extremely large burritos and smother it in sauces that are bright green or bbq sauce red with no sides to accent it. The chain Mexican restaurants are much better then the food you will have here. I have eaten at Salud's twice hoping that they improve but unfortunately it just gets worse as you dive into the menu more. Great decor, but the worst food you can buy.

Went to Salud for the first time last night. Finally, a Mexican restaurant in the Columbia area that is for real. I refuse to go to the San Jose chains around Columbia. Salud is in a very nice older store and the atmosphere is fabulous. There were four of us and every single thing we had was exceptional. Most Mexican restuarants serve you complimentary chips (but not Cantina 76 in Columbia) and salsa at the table, and Salud does this. The Salsa is very good. We also ordered a side of guacamole and Queso dip, which were both excellent. The Guac was great with chunks of avocado and all four of us liked it. The house special "Salud Margarita" is one of the best we've had. It is rather pricey for an 8 oz. Margarita ($8.25 each) but worth it. I've had a hard time finding a Mexican restaurant that serves Torta Asadas and was surprised to see it on the menu. I had to order it just to compare it to a place I visit in Huntersville, NC. It was very good. Served on Bollilo bread with avocado, refried beans, lettuce, sour cream, onion and excellent tasting meat. Jalopeno peppers were served on the side. My wife and neighbor split the tacos...shredded beef on a soft tortilla which came with three tacos. Excellent! My neighbor ordered the Burrito fritta....burrito with steak covered in a queso sauce. It was one of the best things of the night. It came with two burritos and is rather filling. My wife and I may split that the next time we go. Highly recommend this. I just wish Columbia NE had something as good. Cecilia's in Irmo is good but doesn't have the atmosphere or the variety of menu that Salud's offers. Service was very good. Restaurant was full and they do take reservations. They have a huge variety of Tequila and a nice bar. Great restaurant...can't wait to try it again.

I've never had a bad meal here, after at least 10 visits. Food is great, margaritas are outstanding. Their margarita menu is bigger than the food menu. At times, service can be a little slow but the atmosphere makes the wait worthwhile. Highly recommended!

Really good, honest Mexican. Good choices. The staff and owners are wonderful with just enough attention to their guests needs.

I love this place. I don't live in Camden and when my mom told me to expect the best margarita I have ever had, I rolled my eyes and expected to have to choke it down and pretend to like it. (I don't like many margaritas.) Wow, it was AMAZING. I can't remember what it was called but it had pineapple juice and a type of chili powder. So good. The food was good, too.

I'm not sure how this place wound up in Camden SC but it is hands down the best Mexican food I have ever had (and I've been to Mexico 3 times)! The staff is friendly and the food is wonderful. If you're a tequila fan this is your place. They have every brand you've heard of and nearly every one you haven't. I recommend the California Burrito and the Quesada's are very good as well. The place has a very cool ambiance as well. My wife is a huge fan of the Strawberry Margherita. We've eaten there over 10 times and it never fails to deliver! What else can I say, if you don't like this place you may need to have your taste buds calibrated.

Recently I was given the suggestion to try this restaurant with the recommendation that it would be well above the chipolte's or most other local mexican-style or themed restaurants in the area. my girlfriend and I as well as my brother, who ended up paying a short noticed visit were all very pleasantly surprised at the level of refined food choices, solid menu, fresh ingredients, as well as the modern decore of the establishement. Seating was one of the minor complaints but to no real fault of its own since it is centered in downtown Camden, all of which is fairly historical and the buildings in the city center are all period pieces to the revolutionary war, thus inside space was somewhat tight, but that is only a very minor inconvenience. When we arrived, it was high time for the restuarant, i.e. 7pm ish... so there was a wait, approx 40min...( on thing to note about the hostess station, we found that the behaviors of the hostesses were less than desirable, an almost "why am I here", and "you're bothering" me kind of tone. I would suggest that a hostess station can be one of the most important places in a restuarant as patrons can get a very fast feel for how their evenings may be based on the initial phase of greeting customers, so something to work on there).. now as to your arrival times, I would suggest getting there about an hour earlier, say 5-6pm for slightly faster seating.. however, if you do arrive, there is a bar, but it too has limited seating with only 1 person working behind it generally as that is about all that can fit. Thus Drink orders can at times be slightly on the slow side. However, all but one of the drinks were very well made and they have a more than ample selection of Tequila's should that be of interest to you. once seated, the menu wasn't over populated, which immediately made me think that they to decided that sometimes less is more so long as the food is cooked well, and they didnt dissapoint. I ordered a Seasame grilled Mahi Tuna Fish Taco, which upon inspection was not frozen fish chunks or flavored Cod, but a solid piece of tuna with a Mango salsa, mixed greens and vinegrette to apply from a seperate ramikin. it was very well cooked, the fish was not over done and the tortilla it was served in was very good. My girlfriend ordered the Burritos De Pollo. The chicken was definitely fresh, very tender and juicy and topped with a very nice Queso that too was not overly salted.. the chicken was not flat topped to heat it up or microwaved, it was seasoned well and not over salted. My brother ordered the Asada steak Quesadilla and his was very well made as it was crispy, while the steak was very well marinated and portioned throughout the quesadilla so you definitely got your monies worth. The Wait staff were all friendly, perhaps slightly overwhelmed when busy, but all willing to please, thus tips were happily given at the 20%. My only real grievance was again with the hostess station. My reasons for giving it a 4 as well as only a fisrt time visit. should I return and update this posting, I will accordingly adjust my number, but so far, this place is definitely worth the visit, and it shall be visited again soon!

Super excited to try this place. I wasn't let down. Walking into the place felt like we were walking into a totally different place. The atmosphere is so awesome. We started with the piña Rita and wow, it was amazing. Possibly the best margarita I've ever had. We each had different meals and both of which were fabulous! This is definitely a place we will be going back to!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
