My oldest son said, dad let's try that new Mexican place by our dentist. I said ok, so on a Friday night at 7:30 pm we drive over. We are greater by a friendly enough hostess, and we're quickly seated, but before we even get settled into our ginormous table, our waitress shows up asking if were ready to order drinks. I'm with my 8 year old son, and my 14 year old is on his way from the car. I tell to give me 5 minutes. No less than 2 minutes pass and she's back. I tell her nicely that we want time to study their gigantic menu. When she comes back she wants our drink order, so I tell her in Spanish that we want time. Before she leaves though, I do ask her in perfect Spanish if the food is better than the pictures on the menu? She didn't answer me. When we were ready to order, I ordered the fresh Guacamole, strike one! It's served in a small tortilla bowl, which is placed on this huge plate, and served. It was left all by itself to swim on this plate, with nothing to stop it from sliding all over the place. As a chef,I would have placed it on something a bit smaller, and I would have somehow garnished the plate, and surely I would have seasoned the guacamole. We ordered our dinners, my oldest son had a cheese only quesadilla, (it was laden in grease) I still can't figure out why there was so much oil on his plate. The Exxon Valdez oil spill left less oil. My youngest want the corn dog from the kids menu, as he was eating it kept saying it tasted of plastic. After hear him talk about plastic, took his hot dog and took a bite. And there it was... the hot dog still had its plastic casing on it. (You can't blame the restaurant for this) I'm sure they bought their corn dogs frozen, so the manufacturer missed on dogs casing. I made him stop eating it and asked him to work on his fries. Strike 2. As for my dinner, I ordered the Carnitas, if you know anything about carnitas, you know it's like a confit of pork... chunks of pork slow cooked in its fat so as to make the pork extra tender a full of flavor. The pork was tender, and had some good flavor, but it was the driest pork I had ever eaten. The rice had very little flavor and had peas, and what looked to be like Lima beans or edamame in it. Again it needed seasoning! The beans were pretty good, but we're slathered in cheese. The food came out in like less than 10 minutes, that's good! But for a Friday night, I'm not so sure they had the numbers this place needs to survive. Our waitress seemed a bit bored, because she was at our table about 6 or 7 times in the 45 minutes we were there. There are so many real mexican restaurants here in the Bluffton/ Hilton Head area that are so far ahead of this place. With food like this,a menu whose pictures look like the were put together by a Chinese restaurant, and an over bearing server. This place won't be long for the auction block. I'm sorry to say one star, but they're lucky Yelp doesn't allow for a lesser review.

The interior is good looking, the staff helpful. The food was just par, however the drinks excessively priced. There are better deals on Mexican restaurants in Bluffton.

Best shrimp tacos ever. My wife and I are addicted to them. I dream about them... Service is great, the place is clean, and you get bottomless chips and salsa while you wait for the food. And, it's right across the road from where we live, which is freaking awesome! You have to support this place and come.

I have been going to this place ever since it opened up. The first couple of times it was a little rough while the staffing figured out a system that works, however now I will recommend this place over and over. Always excellent food and service. Quick and polite waiting staff. Food prices are spot on, drinks are very well made. I've done both lunch and dinner hour, leave satisfied every time. You will not be disappointed with this up and coming Mexican restaurant!!

A must visit! Great staff, excellent menu. Margaritas are also big and refreshing. We had the carne asada... yes, wow. So tasty! Great beef! The sopes (chicken and beef) are cravable... you will wish you got more, or some to go! This is a hidden gem in Bluffton. Right off the Parkway so come check it out. I will return again and again!

UPDATE! ... have not been happy AT ALL with the shrimp tacos lately, we've ordered them three times to go and they have taken 20+ minutes (once we arrived to pickup, AFTER the initial 10/15 min. phone in/pickup time) ..and each time (after we finally get them) they have been bland, lacking in their original spicy flavor, cold and the shrimp rubbery and over cooked.. this last time they forgot the avocado and we didn't catch it until we got home. :'( Super bummed and disappointed, cuz this has been our favorite go to place for yummy food, since they opened. Not sure we'll ever go back... 3 times burned!

The food here is not out of this world delicious, but it isnt bad either. I ordered a dish that had grilled steak, chicken, and chorizo and it was fairly decent. We have been to other Mexican restauranta in the area and this falls about middle of the road by comparison. The service is spotty, but the adult drinks are delicious! They certainly don't skimp on ingredients from the bar.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
