You can not find any better BBQ than Choo Choo. As if that were not a good enough reason to stop, the side dishes are to die for. That is the result of the owner's skill at the BBQ and his German mother's skill taking care of everything else in the kitchen. The owners are very friendly folks and the restaurant has a lot of pictures that any railroad buff would enjoy.

Stumbled upon this joint while driving from Savannah to Hilton Head. Nice n clean inside. The owner was very friendly and hospitable. Wifey and I split the 3/4 --- 1/4 lb each of chicken and pork plus 1/4 slab of ribs. The meat was excellent, Mac cheese was great as were the beans. One dtr had the ribs and the other a pulled pork sandwich --- great! We'd return!

Very excellent food. The lunch special is a great deal. It's a very filling sandwich and fries. Both the chicken and pork are very moist. I love their BBQ sauce. Cute little house style restaurant with a choo choo train as the kitchen. A must for anyone in the area. Perfect for a quick lunch after the Outlets.

Excellent meat. I had the train wreck, which is chicken, pulled pork and rib meat. It was fantastic. The sauce is always on the side and it tasted great. I started with just a little and ended up adding a bit more. The green beans were tasty and so was the corn bread. I was disappointed in the Mac and cheese. It was obviously store bought and really tasted like kfc's, and that is not a good thing. Others at the table raved about the sweet potato casserole. I would offer less variety of side and make sure they were good. The lady working was super nice but she talked to whole time through our meal so we couldn't talk to each other, but she really was very, very nice. The food all came out in carry out containers which I thought was a cool touch. The decor was train and John Wayne oriented and I liked the homey and fun feel of the place. I defiantly would eat there again but it would probably be to pick up a carry out order of a ton of the meat.

Pretty good BBQ place. The service was pretty terrible (kept forgetting to put our orders in, took forever, etc) apparently because they were busy, but the lady behind the counter apologized and gave me some coleslaw on the house. As for the food, I got the train wreck sandwich. It was good! The meat was cooked well and I liked that they have the option to get all 3 meats at a reasonable price. The sauce was good also. Coleslaw was ok, nothing special.

Best BBQ in Bluffton. No need to go anywhere else! Ribs are a favorite and the pork is amazing. The chicken is great too and the chips are the best side dish on the menu.

Let me start by stating that the BBQ here is the best ever. Every bite made me smile and I will return again. Here is where this place NEEDS Help: My trip to HHI/Bluffton taught me that a lot of Baby Boomers didn't plan for retirement and are still working to support themselves. The lady who took our order was slower than a turtle and about as competent. This is the 2nd time this week where a BB hurt the experience. I went on BBQ Xpress website and looked at the lunch special for $6.75 and when I ordered it the lady acted like I was ordering chinese food!

We found this place just by driving by and are so glad that we stopped! Delicious BBQ as I had the train wreck and husband had a combo of different BBQ as well. Train theme is fun and the red caboose is the kitchen. Owners are so nice and he is a veteran and their son is in the Army. Sweet potato casserole is amazing! Want a picture with John Wayne? You can do that here!

Ribs are very meaty as opposed to fall off the bone tender. Coated in a dry rub and moderately smokey. Sauce on the side was pretty good. One of us liked the hush puppies and one didn't.

Really tasty BBQ. Smoker is right outside the door, and the owner is cooking as you eat. Owner and staff are very friendly. If you are looking for legit BBQ in the area, this is a great bet. We had pulled pork sandwiches, mac n cheese, and collards. All were delicious and the meal was cheap!

Well the first time I came here I really liked everything 1/2 chicken and ribs were very good. 2nd time there not so much - food was cold and lady behind the counter was sooooooo rude! There was a sign outside that read "chicken or pulled pork sandwich, fries, coleslaw and drink $8.50". So I told her I wanted the pulled chicken sandwich special. She rolled her eyes and said "uh let me go look at the board I have no idea what the special is"..... when she came back she said it's only for the pork sandwich not the chicken. I told her it says both sandwiches on the board and both are the same price on the regular menu ($5.00) so that does not make sense. She continued to argue with me so I just ordered something else. It's a shame they have such a grumpy lady working behind the counter because the rest of the staff (cooks and owner) are very nice. Oh - I checked the board again when I was leaving and it DID say CHICKEN and pork!!
