I don't know what happened, maybe the owner listened to a passed review, or maybe there's a new man in the kitchen, that has put some higher expectations on the kitchen crew, but whatever it is... IT'S RIGHT! we had lunch here today, because I just had a craving for fish and chips, after having talked to a friend in the UK. we were sat promptly by 2 of the nicest hostesses I've come across in a long while, I was pleasantly surprised that we got to sit in Rodney ' s section. If you ever get a choice of a waiter/waitress sit in his section . This Man is smooth, constant motion. Without looking overly busy. Always very polite, and eager to help. Anticipates your needs, before you even know you need something. If I ever open a place here, I'll steal him from here, and build my crew around him. HE'S THAT GOOD! back to the review. We were about 10 mins late for some of the brunch items my oldest son wanted, but he still found something to eat, and he loved it. My little guy copied me, and had the kids portion of fish and chips, $6.99 with a drink perfect center cut filet of Cod thinly battered a fried crispy, not a bit soggy. (Even though I have a British friend who swears she's right when she says fish and chips should be served soggy) She's wrong! I had the fish and chips, with the fried shrimp $16.99 thats a good price considering it's a 9oz. Portion of the same cod and 3 large beer battered shrimp, fries and a cup of coleslaw. My oldest son got what he said was the best grilled cheese sandwich he's ever had $4.99 with a drink. Rodney allowed him to order off the kids menu, even though he's 14. I think it was well within his right to not allow this, but he saw how disappointed my son was for missing out on his first choice of brunch. That's great service! I asked Rodney, what has changed in the past 6 months, since we last ate there? I told him that back then the food was, well below standards, the fish was a pile of mush, greasy and had zero flavor. Today the fish was light, crispy, full of flavor, and seasoned the way a pro would season food, the fries were crispy outside and fluffy inside. Maybe the owner has read a few of my reviews, because if anyone knows my biggest pet peeve is non seasoned food, and there seems to he a lot of crap food here on Hilton Head. The British Open Pub did it right today! I hope this is not a fad, and that it continues. I saw on one of their table tents, that they have a prime rib dinner special on Wednesday nights, I will be there for that, and let's hope that is as successful as today was, because if it is, this will be one of our go to spots, and hopefully everybody will know my name! It's that kind of place. It reminds me of a favorite place we had on Fulton street in NYC. we'd go to the Northstar Pub every sunday, just for the English/Irish pub and their food. It was as close to a salvation spot for relocated Brit's and Irish alike. The BPO (as they're known locally) is just as good, and I'd welcome any and all of me British pals, to come and eat here. Hear Ye Hear Ye... come one come all to the BPO!

For a spot serves standard pub/bar food, this places excels. It's the service that sucks. Enjoy all the golf stuff on the walls. It is on Hilton Head, a popular golf destination. I highly recommend the duck wings. They're drenched in a delicious chipotle sauce. I couldn't easily taste that it was duck but it was damn good. Crispy, saucy, heavenly. This place sucked in service. I mean, terrible. Our waiter had no personality and wasn't even helpful. You should always bring a drink menu, assume that one halfway through his/her meal would want a refill and pretend that you just a bit happy to be working. Take out duck wings is going to happen this week.

All food in Bluffton are ia overpriced and this place is definitely no exception. Food was ok. Fish and chips were pretty darn oily. However, it was not short n serving size. I was definitely full when we left. My wife liked the liver and onions dish. My parents enjoyed the sheppards pie, although it di not look that good to me. But their beef sandwhich looked very tasty.

Eh. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. It is British themed, but definitely not a British Pub. The food was decent enough, but also definitely not genuine British fare.

Love coming here for Saturday Brunch. Free scones are DELICIOUS, eggs Benedict are always perfect, and pancakes are amazing.

Golf themed restaurant/pub. Fish and Chips were excellent. Big menu! Older crowd mostly and service wasn't bad. Would return again!

One of my favorite restaurants I'm Bluffton, SC. Its located right across the street from Barbers of the Lowcountry. You have to try their French onion soup, best ever. Service is always great and friendly.
