Molly was our server and she was fun and hardworking she had a lot of great suggestions ... I was celebrating my birthday so I had to order several Tapas. ... The oyster trio and bacon wrapped scallops were my least favorite. .. oysters were cold the scallops bland. The lamb chops in the mint demi were so tender and tasty, as was the Garlic beef in cream sauce. Omg so so so yummy. Also had escargot and it was delicious. .. I paired my dishes with the 1865 syrah wine. Great choice! All in all lovely food romantic environment Could use a good scrubbing yet I run a cleaning company and may b ocd Molly is the bomb great birthday treat

I decided to try Emily's at the recommendation of a local waitress at another restaurant in town. I went solo and sat at the bar. Ordered a old fashioned that was terrible. I was told they made good cocktails here. After flagging down a bartender I ordered a half dozen Oysters Rockefeller that came out so fast I knew it could not possibly have been prepared properly, of course not. The oysters came out cold with a little cheese on top. Next I decided to try the grilled quail. This is the low country right? I got one tiny quail for $10, with no flavor at that. The only saving grace was that the other customers at the bar were friendly and I enjoyed the conversation. The customers were mostly locals. I was told I did not order the best dishes. I hope so because my experience was just not a good one. Maybe I will try again the next time in Beaufort, but for this trip I can only give 2 stars.

We made reservations about a mouth ago for last night with London for a party of 16. Although the menus states that parties of 6 or more are treated as one check she made an exception and said we would have two servers that would be able to provide separate checks for each couple. Our servers, Sandy and Tesla were excellent, very timely, responsive and accurate in their billings. To my surprise, London came in on her night off to make sure everything was good for our group. You don't see that very often. Food was very good and served in a timely manner. We did have one complaint about a steak being over cooked, but not bad considering there were 16 of us. We do this trip every year, but this was one of the best experiences we've had. Thanks again to London, Sandy and Telsa of Emily's.

Sometimes the moon and stars align! My wife and I stopped in here Saturday afternoon shortly after they opened. We were searching for smoked salmon, which Emily's has on the tapas menu. . We sat at the bar and ordered the salmon, the house made pate, champagne, and beer from Michael. We subbed sliced toasted baguette for the table water crackers. Both dishes were just excellent. Michael kept the champagne well chilled and my wife's glass full. The beer was cold and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was perfect with the small and convivial local crowd. Exactly what we were looking for.

As the last persons for the evening I believe we waited an hour from the kitchen to get even the salads. It's a Saturday evening looked busy when we came in but still no excuse for the wait. When the food came, i can say that it was good, from the shrimp and grits to the surf and turf and the tapas. If you have patience this restaurant will serve you well.

It must have a soup theme. The first thing I ordered was the shrimp over fettuccine special and I had to send it back with the watered down spinach soaked broth. Secondly, I ordered the shrimp and grits which had a great flavor just too watery and loaded with a lot of onions. The decor is about twenty years later for renovations with burnt out Christmas lights hanging on the ceiling. Holes in the roof and if they are going to seat visitors with the ability to sewer into the kitchen they need to hide the door that is covered with dry root and for peek sakes get rid of the stains on the carpet in the dining room. The only reason why I am giving three stars is the flavor of the shrimp and grits and how great my waitress was. Can't say the same for the other workers.

Tapas menu was good. Not family friendly. Service was slow. We were seated next to the waitstaff station and we watched our waitress just stand there. If you are looking for a leisurely drinking/dining experience (basically you shouldn't have plans for about 5 hours post dinner) then this your place!

Just ok, can get expensive. Food is nothing to brag about!! Waiters were awesome tho!

Very extensive tapas menu. Good kitchen but management needs work. The night we were there didn't appear to be overly busy but after our first round of tapas arrived we waited nearly an hour for the next items. Our waitress stopped by once and you could tell she was frustrated with the situation(not her fault). But generally in a place of this supposed stature the manager would stop by and offer an update and perhaps another glass of wine while we waited. Nothing. It wasn't until we were finished and I requested to see the manager did she come to the table. Staff seemed to be more involved with the people(regulars I assume) sitting at the bar. Too bad...our first visit...food was very good...but experience overall far below what we expected.

We ordered 5 different tapas style plates and all left for more to be desired. Bland tasting and over cooked. The atmosphere was like stepping back into time in the early 90's and the bartender didn't even wash his hands after smoking a cigarette.

Never had a bed meal here, but service isn't always the best. Make a reservation if you are coming with a group. Tapas menu is very extensive and always have specials! They are not fast paced, very laid back- food can take a while.

Really just not good. Bartenders were nice, even though one pointed right at our faces from 4 feet away when asking another bartender about our ticket. Food was really unfortunate. Garlic beef was very low quality and some sort of pancetta wrapped shrimp with peaches was not edible. Staff doing shots, regular customers behind the bar, sour smell while sitting at the bar was over powering, etc. etc. They got 2 stars because Micheal the bartender tried hard.

Could have been wonderful. Tapas in the Deep South? Bacon wrapped shrimp, fried to dryness; little shrimp taste. Bacon wrapped scallops much better. Oysters Trio: perhaps should have been expected but the garnishes (cheese etc.) made the oyster flavor undetectable (except a good hint in the Rockefeller's). Excellent Pâté Fois Gras. Bar drinks very inexpensive. But much better to double the price and add more liquor!

Amazing food. Huge menu to accommodate different tastes. Tapas are individually and meticulously prepared. Service is attentive, courteous and knowledgeable. Favorite place in town!

This was a great dining experience! Steak was perfectly cooked. Bryan, our server, was engaging and helpful with our choices. He was knowledge about the menu and the wine list. We'll be back. If you love steak, this is the place in Beaufort.

Amazing!!!! Everything we had was awesome. In fact, I couldn't stop eating it was so good (the wine may not have helped). Our waitress (Molly) was top notch, and there was never more than a few minutes in between her visits to check on us. I highly recommend the lamb...key lime pie...oysters...aw heck it's all great!!! We'll be going back very soon.

Good tapas, generous portions. I would normally order three, but he I just needed two. Service was a bit sloppy, but good natured. It's a big place, with a bar area and a separate restaurant area. They have three or four TVs on the go at any one time, which is a little distracting.

We came in on a Monday night and sat at the bar. The restaurant was pretty busy. Our server, London, was super friendly and seemed really knowledgable about the menu. Food came out quickly. We had some type of grilled/broiled oysters, they were okay, then we had fresh oysters (we came in a little tipsy and we're drinking wine there-which was a reasonable price-so it seemed like a good idea) they were pretty good, then we had an oyster shooter (I know, seriously?) it was awesome. I think we had one other dish and then lamb-eh, I could have skipped on the lamb-it was a bit chewy but not bad. I would probably give food here 4 stars; but since the service was super and the drinks were a good price and the wine was great it's getting 5.

My wife and I love this place and believe it's the best Beaufort has to offer. The choices are plentiful from seafood, beef, lamb ,chicken and pasta's. A warm friendly atmosphere and the best happy hour in Beaufort. I recommend Emily's to any of the tourists visiting town. This is a regular spot for us.

Food = 3 (the food has disappointed me lately... they are open 7 days a week. So, the food is worse when the regular cook (Mike) is not there... ask first! Mondays is not a good night for food) Price = 3 (not bad for Beaufort) Experience = 4 (I really like the bar here... it's mostly locals, with a few tourist)

Very disappointed with the kitchen service. We were the second couple in the place and it took an hour and a half to get the salad. Most of the people that arrived after us got their food before us. Then the entree came out 20 minutes after that, one plate was under cooked and the other was over cooked. I would have expected timely updates from the waiter but he just kept walking past us not a word why things were so late.

Terrible. My shrimp and scallops were inedible. Overcooked and so salty I couldn't eat them. Our server was equally as bad. If may be good enough for the locals but we won't be back.

Another delightful evening at Emily's with friends. Tonight was a special celebration of a birthday for one of my friends and from cocktails to soup to dinner and dessert it was all special. Super service and super food make for a super night out with the girls. Thanks Emily's for a great celebration.

Jon-- I was visiting Beaufort for work and my pilot buddy and his wife hosted me at this little Lowcountry gem. The tapas looked inviting, but I had the shrimp and grits. The grits were a little stange, coming in large blocks. But the shrimp was excellent and the sauce had a nice kick to it. I appreciated how fresh and succulent the shrimp were. My buddy had the curry shrimp and his wife had a selection of tapas. All of it was tasty and the service was pleasant. I'll certainly come back to Emily's the next time I'm in Beaufort.

Food delicious! Service poor, poor, poor! DO NOT GO ON MONDAYS Our waitress informed us after no attention for 45 minutes that we obviously did not read the bottom of the menu; "We have a very small kitchen." We had a reservation at 7; received our appetizer at 7:45, dinner at 8:05 which was delicious Has big screens in bar like Sports bar scene

Emily's is a great locals place. They have a nice wine list with very reasonable prices, extensive tapas menu and friendly staff. We enjoyed a few tapas, the food was okay but the atmosphere and staff made up for it. We'll defintely revisit Emily's!

Mostly for locals off the main drag with a nice bar. Wife and I ordered from Tapas menu..very nice.. She loved her shrimp (7) in tomatoes, artichokes and capers. Stuffed mushrooms were ok but came late. My tempura shrimp (5) was good and the fried calamari was excellent ( good sized portion). Service was fair, if was crowded on a Thursday night. We just moved here and will come back.

Service great. Only redeeming feature. Beware supposed Cajun dishes Unauthentic gumbo was a spicy fish soup. No rice served with the pan fried, greasy, smoked store-bought sausage ( a poor substitute for Andoullie sausage). Terrible, almost disgusting. Menu can't be trusted.

Food: 1 star Service: 3 stars This place was surprisingly bad. Felt like we were in a restaurant that was good 30 years ago, but has not kept up. Had to send back two appetizers - sashimi tuna had a strange gelatin-like texture and stuffed mushrooms were still frozen in the middle. Seafood platter was very disappointing - the fried oysters were good, the frozen fried flounder and frozen shrimp were OK, but the calimari (rubber bands) and scallops (strange taste) were inedible. Could not eat the crab cake. They did make a good martini for only $5 (for call brand gin) and the server was nice and got the returned apps taken off the tab (though it took two tries).

In my opinion the best restaurant in Beaufort. The menu is huge to include a vast array of tapas. This isn't your standard tapas restaurant, though. They have an equal amount of entrees. The french onion soup is incredible. The shrimp and grits is absolutely fantastic. Any of their steaks are great. There are simply too many really good options on the menu to accurately describe them all. Their service is consistently great with the wait staff knowledgeable and personable. My wife and I have never had anything but an incredible experience here.

This is my FAVORITE restaurant. Though I usually get the same thing, I have tried many of their dishes (tapas and entrees) and have yet to experience anything below GREAT! My friends and family eat here all the time too! :)

Emily's is a great restaurant located one street over from Bay Street in Beaufort SC. The french onion soup and steak au pove are wonderful! I would highly recommend either or both for dinner. Great place to meet friends after work.
