Iama Critic Rating - Hardee's - 3 Stars 4415 Clemson Boulevard, Anderson, SC Overall: Does it mean anything at all to review a fast food place? I mean weeks from now they will either have different people, a different menu or different equipment. I don't normally bother with fast food, but I hear Hardee's is making it's bread fresh, right on the premises, so here I go. Just once I would like to go into a fast food place and actually get the burger you see on TV. I have tried ordering every which way possible and it just never happens. I say "Don't mash the bun. Don't crease it, don't sit on it, don't drop it on the floor, don't put it in a box or wrap it up in paper. Just put my hamburger on a plate and set my perfect bun top on the side and I will put it on the burger." And still I get mushed, mashed buns, that look like a fat lady sat on it. To demonstrate the difference between what you see on TV and the reality I uploaded a picture from a Hardee's ad and one of me recreating the same ad. Now doesn't that look identical? Doesn't that just make you want to buy a burger? hahahaha Ok, let's get serious about the food! $6.59 - 2/3lb Monster Burger - 2 Stars This burger is a pretty big size with very good flavor. But it doesn't look anything like the photos.The bacon is seriously thin and why doesn't it have all the condiments you would expect? $4.99 - Taco Salad - 4 Stars This taco salad was surprisingly good. As good as any taco salad you get at your local so-called Mexican place. And it is cheap $3.79 - Cod Sandwich - 3 Stars Added pickles just because pickles go with processed fish. You didn't honestly thing this triangular thing was an actual fillet did you? Well actually.... it is. Sadly the grilling produces a strange flavor. The fish itself had a definitive fish smell. Not a bad smell at all. But you can tell this is real fish, not over-processed emulsified flavorless odorless fish patty. $4.99 - 1/3lb Cheese Steak Burger - 3 Stars This burger was better that the "monster", just less meat and a different list of condiments. Final Thoughts: After consuming just a portion of what I ordered, I went back to my traveling food truck to write this review and proceeded to pass out for three hours. Apparently fast food eliminates any ability for you to continue with your day. So fair warning, you eat a burger, you might just find yourself asleep in some obscure truck stop with a guy named Bubba knocking on your window asking you if you got a dollar!
