Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

All of the pizza is yummy but the buffalo chicken is my favorite! They also have pizza by the slice. Staff is friendly and it's cute inside with murals on both sides of the dining room.

Hands down..the best pizza in RI. I drive out of my way when I can just get the pepperoni pizza. Sandwiches are delicious too.

Excellent pizza, delicious home made meatballs and soups. The staff at Pizza King are very professional and friendly!

The place is known for its pizza, subs or as I call em grinders. The buffalo chicken pizza is a must, I never was into it until I tried it here. The crust is delicious with a hint of garlic. great customer service and awesome pizza slices if you are having a quick lunch.

The Buffalo Chicken pizza is amazing!

  • Rena W.

I love their pizza. Ive only tried the cheese and pepperoni so far. The sauce is great and the pizza dough is nice and thick. One time we went we decided to try the grinders. I had a chicken parm and my boyfriend had the steak and cheese. Both were great and loaded with meat, not skimpy like some places serve.

Don't order the spinach pie! Has a weird taste! Looked so good, but yuck! I threw the whole thing away! Pizza was just okay! Ordered pasta salad, never got it! We used to order from here all the time , like 5 years ago, and was so good! I have know idea what happened? Super expensive now too! Not a place I would go back to again!!!!! I don't usually post reviews , but felt the need, because it was that disappointing!

Not really sure why people would recommend this place , I mean if it's your only option go for it , but drive the extra 10 minutes and go to Providence for Pizza and calzones . They have a special 2 pizza slices and a drink of your choice for 5.75 , but it's not worth it . The pizza sauce is so sweet never had sweet sauce before . The crust was extremely burnt and had way to much garlic. My friend said the pizza tasted like frozen pizza that the store sells for 1.00 and I'm not talking about Celeste ( I love Celeste ) . Me and my friend both also ordered spinach pies and even looking at them you can tell they weren't going to be good . They were over cooked to a point I couldn't even bite it . Cheap spinach and just a nasty combo of stuff. The staff is so nice but this place I would never recommend EVER !

Decent food- quick and easy. Menu isnt accurate online. Inside is kind of small so I'd recomend ordering out or for delivery. Sub comes with macaroni salad made by them. Pizza was pretty good for the $.

  • Amar G.

The pizza here is awesome, staff is super friendly and if you got something you didn't like before...I recommend you try their buffalo chicken pizza or their bbq chicken pizza.

Waited 1+ hours. Arrived after 2 phone calls burnt to a crisp. Worst pizza ever!

  • Bonnie B.

We ordered 3 pizzas while staying at the hotel next door - we were super impressed with their friendly service and how quickly the pizzas were ready. In addition to the fast and friendly service the pizza was delicious! The kids loved the square cut and of course cheese was their favorite. We had meatball and it was also great. Next time we find ourselves in this area we will be getting their pizza again!

I love their pizza!! Ahh it's so good. Very sweet sauce and seasoned crust. Just the right amount of cheese and they aren't stingy with toppings. Their grinders are pretty good too except for some reason they usually bother my stomach. Tastes so good but makes my stomach hurt later. I stick to their pizza now. Pepperoni and bbq pizza are my favorite. I've tried a few other pizza places nearby and they were horrible. I'm sticking to what I know and what I know is THEIR PIZZA IS SO GOOD.

  • Sean W.

I happen to see a light box on the roof of the delivery car from them yesterday. I am always looking for someplace new to try near my job. Today I tried their Specialty Buffalo Pizza. The price was right the pizza was AMAZING!!!! They don't skimp on toppings and use REAL HUGE chunks of chicken. I would recommend this place to anyone and I can't wait to try something new next time.

The pizza is sub par at most. You're better off going to the dollar tree next door and getting a frozen pizza for a buck. Bland, no cheese and burnt. When I called to complain the girl stated, "Stupid boys running the oven." She gave me a credit but I'll never use it. Go to Don's up the street! Best pizza around!

  • Jennifer C.

I love pizza king. I think the Italian sub toasted is THE best around. My daughter loves the large pepperoni pizza. I'm from Long Island. LI Italian hero's are the best. But we don't toast them. Lol I looove pizza kings Italian toasted sub. AND!! Their pizza does not give me heartburn. Love it.

  • Michelle D.

I have tried their pizza several times and always consistent. The pizza is so good, the pies are big and the crust is the best part. I do not know what they do to eat but if you usually do not eat the crust you will this time. Dine in or carry out and the staff is always friendly when I call.

  • Doug C.

Pizza by the slice. Simple concept that more places should consider. Pizza King is tucked away so until recently I'd only had it delivered at an old job. Pizza has good flavor. Love the crust. And their sauce is far from bland. Thicker slices than many other "by the slice" places I've been. Would be good if they added fountain drinks.

  • Joe M.

Big fan of getting the spinach feta and chicken pizza here. One of the better pizza joints in the area. Sauce is really good, lots of garlic.

After moving to Warwick a couple of months ago, we've tried a few different pizza delivery places to try and find a favorite. So far, Pizza King is the best one, although it's certainly not the best pizza I've ever had. Their pizza comes in a big rectangle instead of a circle, so that's kind of strange. Because of this, some of the middle pieces don't have crust on the edge, so they get a little bit soggy and hard to pick up. The one, big problem that I had with this place is that their spinach pie was DISGUSTING. Still looking for a good spinach pie in Warwick, but I haven't found one yet.

  • Alyssa M.

Bought pizza here for a birthday party and there was a FINGERNAIL in the cheese. Called about it and was told that nobody there has fingernails ??? They offered one free cheese pizza ... No refund . Absolutely ridiculous. Will never order from this establishment again.

  • Joe B.

The pizza is a bit on the greasy side, but it taste OK. The spinach rolls are not that bad. Salads are not their strong suit--I know its a pizza shop and not a salad bar. I like Pizza King and I'm a regular customer and I recommend their pizza over the nearby Dominos or Papa Gino's. Delivery service is fast and you get special offers for delivery which is a plus.

    (3)
  • Michael L.

I had this pizza my first time when we ordered it for delivery where I used to work and I really enjoyed it. The sauce is sweet and they sprinkle something peppery-salty on the crust that balances the sweet sauce very well. I now will make a special trip to pick up one of their pizzas occasionally. The large is a square and the small round, it's Sicilian style pizza with a thicker crust. I haven't had anything other than pizza here, so I don't know how the sandwiches or dinners are. Give it a try.

  • Steve C.

I've tried a lot of pizza in and around the area and nothing has compared to Pizza King so far. The special isn't bad, it comes out to like $6 and you get 2 slices and a drink.

  • William K.

There must be a million pizza places in this world. I've had so many different kinds. Pizza King was the last new pizza experience for me. They are located in the Airport plaza in Warwick. Pizza king has pizza by the slice, whole pizzas, and what ever else you might expect from a pizza joint.. They have soda machines for drinks, the cans are 1 dollar each. I had a slice of pepperoni pizza, it was a big slice, had a good amount of pepperoni on it, and it was good.

    (3)
  • D T.

The pizza from here reminds me of a thicker Dominoes Pizza, but with blander sauce. The buttery crust is very similar.

  • Christy L.

Delivery time took over an hour. Our pizza was extremely greasy. When I removed the first slice, the bottom of the box was covered in grease. We also ordered Italian grinders. They had too much oil, but tasted ok. Best part of the meal was the free potato salad given with the grinder. Will not be reordering from Pizza King.

  • Kammy M.

I love their spinach pies and salad with tuna! I also love their pizza but since my husband is a die hard fan of a local chain restaurant I don't get it as much as I would like. It is an old standby that never fails to deliver!

  • Janie P.

This pizza is different, but in a good way. Checked into a local hotel after a long drive and decided we didn't want to venture out to find something to eat. Front desk recommended Pizza King. They delivered right to our room. It was a good pizza. Loved the cheese and the kids devoured the bacon and onion pizza. Good stuff.

  • Lyndsy C.

OMG, the best. One part Pizza Hut, one part Casserta's, one part Heaven. Perfectly thickish greasy crust, good quality toppings. Ample and sweet tomato sauce..yum. Prices are great, I wish they delivered to me..

  • Gail S.

Compared to some of the other Janky-ass hole in the wall/horrendous mom & pop places in Warwick, this place is definitely better than average. The Chicken Parmesan was delicious! the bread was crispy and didn't get soggy with the sauce. If you're not a fan of sweet Italian tomato sauces, i'd say stay away. And they don't skimp on the sauce either. They have a good $5 deal for 2 slices and a soda also. Definitely one of the better mom & pops in the area.

  • Jason B.

One of the worst pizza's I've ever had. Greasy and overcooked, sauce had no flavor and cheese was incredibly poor. Crush and dough were burnt robbing it of any taste. While I was there there was a clerk arguing with a mentally challenged man that apperently is a regular.

    (1)
  • Shantael C.

The were close closing time so I should have been leary. The pizza sauce had no flavor and the crust was unneccesarily super thick! I ordered a spinach ad cheese "pie" which was supposed to be compared to a calzone. The spinach was nasty no name brand canned spinach with hardly any cheese on an open faced Garlic bread!! Yuck! I took 2 bites and threw it away along with my money. The staff was nice, but they need new recipes.

When in Warwick I always ask to get a Pizza King pepperoni pie. It is the only place i know of that has crisp pepperoni which is exactly how I try to make it myself. Good job!

The use to have the best spinach pies but went down hill. We don't order from there any more.

Thanks to tropical storm Hanna we were held over in Warwick for the night. Having just been on a long and tiresome vacation we didn't feel like going out or doing anything difficult for dinner. We called the hotel management and asked for a pizza recommendation. The one and only name they offered was Pizza King, it was nearby, delivered, and had excellent pizza we were told. Sounded perfect to us. When we called and placed our order we ended up being a bit worried. We asked about pizza sizes and were told small and large. We then asked how big these sizes were and we were told 12 slices. I sighed and asked again how many inches the pizza was. After going back and forth a few more times the person on the phone finally went and asked someone. We finally decided on two large pizzas, one with pepperoni and one with fresh tomatoes and mushrooms. The pizzas were delivered in about 40 min, quicker then we anticipated for the night of a tropical storm. The delivery person was polite. We opened up the pizzas and found two that to first glance looked excellent. Our expectations once again climbed. As we started to eat the pizza we were all very pleasantly surprised, it was excellent! The crust had a great consistency with a buttery flavor. There was plenty of sauce, the right amount of cheese and abundant toppings. I was born, raised, and currently live in Chicago. One of the top two pizza places in the world. I can confidently tell you that this is an excellent pizza and one that I wouldn't hesitate to order.

  • Michelle C.

Pizza King is hands down the best pizza in Warwick. The crust is crisp and garlicky, the sauce is amazing and they are always generous with the toppings. $14 gets you a large pizza that can easily feed 4-5 people. Try it you won't be disappointed!
