First and foremost the hotel in itself is not bad at all. Pretty nice staff, rooms, have a modern decor, and its directly across the street from an indoor mall and restaurants. However this hotel is directly next to an abandoned warehouse. There's also a house directly across the street where a large family lives and during my entire stay there of 4 days, the police always seemed to be at these people's house. The bottom of my shower curtain was packed full of black mold. I left a note for the housekeeper to swap it out which she did. I also did a pre-check-in at this hotel in which they ask you questions about your prefences and that'll send you a text when your room is ready for check-in. I asked for extra towels, received a text from hotel that I had extra towels, but when I got to my room, there were no extra towels. If you have a young child that falls a lot or is just learning to walk, like I do, be aware that the floors in the room are solid concrete. So if they fall and hit there head, like mine did, it can be extremely dangerous to them. Their HUGE parking lot, WITH NO SECURITY CAMERAS AND A LARGE SIGN SAYING WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEFT FROM YOUR VEHICLES, is located directly across the street in the middle of a shady neighborhood and also directly across the street from the people who are always being visited by the police. I purchased an $100 stroller to use with my son while I was on vacay. The stroller was stolen from my car while parked in that lot.

I've traveled around Europe and this hotel has a spruced up HOSTEL feel to it. There are little to no amenities. They have a "work out room" which consists of about 3 treadmills and some weights. They have no pool, but a dingy river view. The entire place has a strange smell to it. Maybe that's because it's a converted warehouse of sorts.Virtually saw no staff ever. And when we wanted to sleep in, we put the do not disturb sign up and the cleaning people still came in...Thanks for the rude awakening The most horrendous thing about this place is the location and the fact that they basically lie about it. It is neither in Providence (which they told us over the phone) or Warwick as the title would suggest, but in some little crap town called Cranston that has very little to do. The staff admitted they call themselves NYLO Providence because they're close to the airport...THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE IN PROVIDENCE you idiots. They ask admitted they quite often confuse their guests with that. Bottom line- find a different place to stay that's honest about their location. They're almost a 1/2 hour away from Providence and pretty dingy...My feet always stuck to the hotel room floor.

The food was okay at best. The servers were okay. What bothered me was it was Easter Sunday and we had to wait a good 20-30 past our reservation time for our table to be ready....therefore you would think we would be able to get the 1.5 hr alotted per dinner reservation.....nope they came over to our table cleared everything and the waitress had the audacity to say "ya know we have other reservations" and my response was "yes i understand that however the party before us ran over the alotted time and that's why we're still here!!" They didn't really seem to care therefore I really don't care about them either.

I am usually one to give people the benefit of the doubt, but what a bumpy experience. 8:50pm on a Wednesday night. Great first impression walking into the hotel and then the outdoor patio The atmosphere is really cozy with great string lights and nice tables, chairs & sofas. A real industrial sleek feel. We waited about 4-5 min at the hostess stand before we were greeted and seated. Waited at least 10 minutes before we were greeted by a server. Ordered our wine and an entree and asked for water. There were only 3 other tables occupied and we were the only ones eating. Never got our water- had to catch the (manager?) who finally brought them. Okay, no big deal. Ordered entrees. I saw them go up while server ran around like a chicken w a head cut off. New to the business? Probably. We are cool, so we let her do her thing. Didn't check on us once, never asked if we wanted more wine, had to ask manager twice who forgot to refill water and he eventually brought us some in to go cups because that's how long it took. What??? Ordered a chopped salad, which my husband said was good. I got seared tuna and it was pretty good, but the sauce tastes like BBQ sauce. Small portion for $24, in my opinion. Came over farro salad, even though the server told me it came of risotto. Again, no big deal, but whatever. After 1.5 hours, we paid our $65 tab with $100 bill and waited 10 minutes to get change. I think they didn't have change. So silly. I will go back again and give this place another chance. Maybe we came on an off night, so I update the review if we have a different experience. All in all, the atmosphere and decor are awesome. Great ambience. Service was sub-par and low end, compared to what was expected, based on price point and ambience. Train your staff!

While staying at the NYLO for a wedding that was in the area, I enjoyed the hotel, but the Loft..not so much. The bartenders and the waitstaff were overall very nice and helpful, but the manger had a very unpleasant attitude. At night after the wedding, I was sitting on the deck outside having a cocktail and enjoying a cigar when one of the staff told me to stand in the grass if I was going to smoke. I understand not wanting smoking inside, but I was outside, at a bar, far away from the door and there were several people smoking cigarettes around me and they were not reprimanded. When 1 am hit, the manager SHUT THE LIGHTS OFF outside, so we were all stumbling around in the dark. No warning whatsoever to a large amount of paying guests who were happily paying for premium drinks. The next morning the breakfast service was atrocious. We were serviced my three different inexperienced waitress who never came back to check on us. When the food finally arrived our orders were wrong and the food was sub-par. One waitress complained that it was too busy that morning (There were many empty tables). The same manager from the night before was assisting during breakfast and when we requested condiments and silverware, we were greeted with the same disdain we received the night before. I would not recommend the NYLO to anyone needing to stay in the area. There are much better options farther up 95 in Providence.

Hotel was fantastic. Loft was eh! Food is over priced and over cooked. Ordered martinis for dessert and he made one at a time rather than double the recipe so it took a while. And the glasses were only about 3/4 of the way full. For a $10 drink, I want a full glass. Staff was friendly and helpful just inexperienced.

Okay this restaurant is terrible. Just going to get it right out there. Calamari was ordered for an appetizer, I had some sort of eggplant pasta dish and my friend had a pizza. First, we had 730 pm reservations. They looked thoroughly confused when we told them that. So a chef came out to seat us, because there was no hostess in sight. She welcomed us, thanked us for coming and apologized about the "confusion". Okay. So, we open our menus and there was some sort of brown liquid on mine, which I assumed was maybe chocolate milk? Anyway, the waitress apologized and took it away. The water tasted like pure chlorine. We reviewed the menu, and decided on the fried calamari as an appetizer. It was way under cooked. My friend ordered a pizza, which was undercooked also and not appetizing. I myself ordered some type of pasta and chicken parmigiana dish. The pasta was WAY undercooked and hard, and the chicken parmigiana tasted very dry. I'm not sure what type of an atmosphere this place was going for ether. Was it underwater themed? Was it retro meets trying to be fancy? Who knows. The "lounge" being a part of the restaurant was very strange, also. I would recommended getting more attentive staff, cleaner menus, and also cooking the food how it is intended to be cooked. The hotel was great, but the restaurant downstairs-- not so much.

While I would never make this place my first choice, I've been there a couple times now and it's not bad. Both times I've gone there it has been Saturday night, and it's never busy. The vibe in there is certainly strange as inside it looks like an NYC boutique hotel, but it's in Warwick next to the mall in a pretty ugly building. The furniture and decor is also strange--lots of round, 70's style chairs hanging from the ceiling, sideways couches, tables filled with sponges and seashells. It's kind of worth going at least once just to gawp at the furniture. Both times I've gone there, I've had pizza. It's fine, but not great. It's a decent price though and nice to nibble on while you're having drinks. The second time I was there though, I ordered the 1/2 margarita pizza (I like that you can do that, and it's only $4), but the server brought out literally a pizza, cut in half, served on a pizza pan with a side plate i.e. metal pizza pan like you have in your house, complete with all the little black burned-on bits of cheese. So that was... different. BF got a burger, and he was really happy with it. Hen even mentioned that the bun was particularly good and flavorful. I had some of his fries, which looks heavily seasoned, but didn't have much flavor. Excellent pickle though--well done there. I will say that my martini was excellent, and I appreciated that the server told me all the types of gin that they had available. I'm not super picky and I usually just get the well, but it's nice to know what to expect. To sum up, this place is a fine place to go for a drink and a snack. I don't know if it turns into more of a discotheque later at night, but both times I've been there, it has been pretty chilled out. The music is low enough that you can have a conversation, and they have an outside patio that affords you a lovely view of Jordan's furniture in the mall and the highway.

This hellhole is possibly my new least favorite restaurant on the face of the earth. My girlfriend and I stayed at NYLO the other night, and we decided to try The Loft Restaurant in the hotel. We stood at the entrance for 5 minutes waiting to be seated while the staff was drinking behind teh bar, and when we were seated we were directly under an AC vent, which was cranking despite the fact that it was 60° outside. I tried to order the lobster wontons but alas, they were out. So I ordered fried calamari. See the attached picture. It was burnt, rubbery and tasteless and it had no sauce, just a few sliced pepperoncini peppers. I went through the beer list and every time I tried to order a beer I was told that they were all out. I finally settled on a Harpoon IPA. I swear they have NEVER had their tap lines cleaned, because the beer tasted like rotten tomatoes. Not good. After all that I just ordered a 'Gansett, because I couldn't take any more disappointment. For our entrees I ordered the NYLO burger and my girlfriend ordered the blackened chicken club. My burger came out so undercooked that it was cold in the middle. See attached picture. The fries were WICKED overcooked (see picture!) and my girlfriend's blackened chicken was so insanely spicy that it was pretty much inedible. After all of this I was ready to leave, but the little lady wanted dessert. I tried to order creme brulee and cookies and milk, and (surprise, surprise!) they were out of all desserts besides sorbet. This place is horribly run, horribly staffed and horribly decorated. To make matters even worse they have an open kitchen, but it was a complete DUMP and the cooks were blatantly warming up leftovers to feed to people in the bain marie. This place is a dump. Stay in the hotel but get your food elsewhere!

Ok.... maybe they have made some changes recently?? My husband and I stayed one night at the hotel and were too tired to ride around looking for another place to eat. Based on the reviews I was extremely nervous to try out the restaurant, but we wound up having a great time. The outside seating area is beautiful and right on the river. It was a perfect summer night and the food and drinks were very good. Our server Mariah was lovely and very attentive. We tried the hummus plate- the hummus and olives were very good. Margarita Pizza- very good as well, cheese is on the heavy side, so ask for light if you want. Some kind of flourless chocolate cake- insanely good and rich. Again we had a great time, and I hope they are going to make a comeback!

My friends and I stayed at the hotel this past weekend. Reservations had been made at the restaurant downstairs. There were 12 of us in our party and we had 7pm reservations. Upon arrival, we were quite surprised at how quiet the restaurant was. We didn't even need to make reservations, as there were plenty of open seats. We were seated at a long table and the waitress was very friendly and prompt with getting us our menus and taking our drink orders. However, when placing our meal orders, we were told that they were all out of one of the dishes on the main menu and only had 1 dish left of one of the specials. Who sells out of something on their main menu at 7pm at night, especially when there was no one even there? I can understand selling out the specials, but a regular dish? So that was kind of disappointing as a few members of our party were thinking of ordering it. We all placed our orders and enjoyed our drinks. After about a half hour, the waitress brought out 2 dishes, and said the rest would be right out. Being polite, they didn't start to eat until everyone got their food. Well, 10 minutes went by, and a few more plates were brought out. Then another 10 minutes and all but 1 plate had been brought out. The missing plate was told that another waiter had picked up their dish and the chef had to make another one, and it would be a few minutes. Really? There was hardly anyone there! And half of the food was served cold on top of that. At around 8:30, everyone was tired of sitting around as the chairs weren't that comfortable, so we started migrating to the back half of the restaurant/lounge area to where couches were and a pool table. Since it was my birthday, the waitress brought over a brownie sundae. The brownies were stale and hard as a rock. The only reason I gave the place 2 stars was because the waitress was super nice and I had a good time being there with my friends. I would definitely stay at the hotel again, but won't be eating at the restaurant again any time soon.

I give it 2 stars for the décor and for having draft beer. The food is questionable and probably starts frozen. The service is strung out as the bartenders also act as waiters. I would suggest just having a cocktail here but it may take awhile to receive it. If you do wait, grab your drink and hit the pool table in the back or board games in the library. Theres also a nice seasonable deck. However the low quality food is way overpriced and service speed is definitely a drag.

THIS.PLACE.SUCKS! Seriously sucks. From the moment we walked in, I swear they staff the entire place with inept employees with no experience. Its apparent they tried to make this a trendy place. What appeared to be crystal lamps ended up being cheap plastic up close. The tables were wobbly and my wine kept splashing out of its glass because it was so bad. Our waitress was atrocious! My husband asked for a salt shaker and she looked at him like he lost his mind. I had to say it several times before she said, "oh, salt" and went to get it. (neither of us have an accent what so ever) I asked for napkins several times and we never did get one. I ordered the wedge salad. when that came, the lettuce was room temperature (no lie). I wanted to say something but my husband gets all mad when I complain, even if its warrented. I ate it anyway because I was hungry. I also ordered the coconut shrimp. It was a little darker than I like it but it was ok. My husband ordred the irish nachos and he said they were ok. I didn't try them. He also orderd the puled pork tacos, took one bite and pushed it away. He said it was horrible. I tried to tell the waitress this because I didn't want to pay for it (my husband works to damn hard for his money to pay for crap) Her response was, "oh I can't take it off the bill and my manager is on vacation" REALLY? I had a white sangria to start. It was pretty good but didn't taste as though it had much alcohol in it. My husband got a Corona (safe choice) after dinner we went to sit on the patio. Which by the way is amazing out there. Very nice atmosphere. I went to the bar to get us another drink. I watched the bartender make our drinks. He had a mojito and I had some kind of hard sweet tea drink. the bartender mixed the drinks and poured them into our glasses with close to 2 inches from the top. he filled the rest of the way with WATER. I asked him why he did that and he said they always top off the glass with water. UMMMM that far from the top? come on dude. I was mad. I don't think I would waste my time or money in the bar portion of this place. EVER again.

Wow, I just had dinner at the NYLO loft restaurant and was very pleased, setting was welcoming and fun, staff was very good, friendly and professional and best of all food was delicious if a bit higher priced than I would have expected. all in all, I would highly recommend the loft and guessing they have made improvements since the reviews below were posted cause I did not see any negatives at all.
