I have been going here for years and love the muffins. I have recently been diagnosed with a gluten allergy and now can't get "my favorite muffin" :( I did go today and bought some gluten free cookies, they were amazing!!! Staff was great, we discussed how I wish they would make a muffin and bagel gluten free,,, please??????? Grabbed my dogs some bones as well to enjoy while snowed in :)

Worst muffins I have ever had and extremely overpriced! $15 for a chocolate milk and four mini muffins. I got four different flavors and couldn't even tell the difference between them. Save your money!

Went there for my first time ever this morning. Cute little place, friendly customer service and the bagels and muffins were amazing! Definitely would try their breakfast sandwiches on my next visit!

Always fresh, always clean, always delicious. Very good muffins and awesome bagels. Can't go wrong!

Good selection of bagels and cream cheese (no herb and garlic that I saw though, which is my favorite). Amazing choice of muffins, too. Breakfast sandwich is OK. Get the muffins early in the morning for maximum freshness. Never tried the coffee. The employees are friendly, day old bagel sales on the side when you walk in too. I'm going to start taking advantage of that soon.

I think I like Dunkin donuts better. I have no affinity for Dunkin donuts, and don't prefer that, either. Anyhow, I say this because the coffee here tastes like warm water, and the wash from my french press after a pot of coffee is more aromatic. The flavored coffee is artificially flavored. I'd rather get a dunkin donuts flavor shot (or better coffee, period). I thought this was a mom and pop -- unfortunately, it's a chain, which I hear is based in chicago. This is the only one in RI. I was curious about the muffins--about 59 cents for a mini one. I tried the banana milkshake muffin, which was a pretty much overdone name for a cakey banana muffin with a lot of sugar on it. Okay, but not homemade. Big tubs of labelled muffin mix behind the register. This makes me sad because I want a good coffee shop in Warwick. So far, nada. Message me if i'm wrong. The search continues...

Lets say this. The Bagels are good. And that's why I give it two stars. The service is awful. Complete lack of caring or effort. If I see multiple cars in the lot I don't pull in. The guy behind me saw how I was treated, turned around and walked out. The coffee is a sad, serve yourself event from whats been bothered to be filled carafes. But I do really like the bagels when I have time to stop in.

Food is good, service is lacking simple decency at times. Other times they're sub par. Had a horrible incident here with one of the ladies so I don't come back but the food is definitely better than most cafes around here.

Sitting in traffic while attempting to leave Cranston, my friend and I spotted My Favorite Muffin. Promises of bagels, muffins and coffee? Of course we had to stop! I was very impressed with the selection. It was somewhat later in the day and they still had a great offering of bagels and a ton of muffins. We bought a cheddar bagel which was pretty good but the top portion was totally burnt. We also bought a turtle latte. Yum. And it was full of caffeine so that was a bonus (sometimes drinks like that are just syrup and light on the coffee but not this one). We also got a chocolate cheesecake muffin and a strawberry cheesecake muffin to take home. Both were delicious. I wish I lived closer as I could see this place becoming a daily stop. The woman behind the counter was nice, and the price for all we got was excellent. Aside from the half burnt bagel, this place was perfect!

This is a find for people looking for homemade muffins and bagels. You can see in the back where it is all made fresh each morning and the difference from your average Dunkin's is incredible. Definitely some of the best muffins/bagels I have had. The staff isn't overly friendly and the coffee isn't amazing but the quality of the muffins and bagels makes it a worthwhile stop on my way to work!

This is another one of those cases where I wish I could rate the service and food separately. Perhaps a future enhancement to Yelp? Until then, MFM&B gets a downgrade. The service as a whole is okay. The folks are generally very nice, so of course I take that into consideration. What drives me crazy is there are a handful of regulars behind the counter, and depending on which one you get you will either get your order completely wrong, moderately wrong, or on par. The only reason for the downgrade is the self service coffee pumps. They do not appear as though they are monitored regularly, and more often than not I've had to let someone know that one or more of the coffees were empty. Now, having worked at a bagel store myself many years ago, we ALWAYS had a backup pot going just in case we couldn't get to a pump and a customer had a similar complaint. However, at My Favorite Muffin, they start to brew the coffee once someone notices. I generally don't feel like waiting the 10-15 minutes for them to brew an entire carafe's worth of coffee, especially if I'm on my way somewhere. There has got to be a process efficiency that can be identified to alleviate this issue. Same goes for the milk/cream options, which aside from not always being available, I have some concerns about the temperature at which they are kept.

I live just down the road from My Favorite Muffin & Bagel Cafe. Once Sweet Temptations went out of business it was the best alternative over D&D. I have to say over the years I have become less impressed. I think the selection is great but the taste/quality can be hit or miss. I hadn't been back in over 2 years so I decided to bring some bagels and muffins in to the office. No one was really impressed with the offerings and I had over half left on the table the next day. A little over priced I would say.

I love this place!!!! Their breakfast sandwiches are the best. I always get the ham egg and cheese on a poppy bagel. Staff is very friendly. Coffee is hot and fresh. The only thing that bothers me is that most of the time it feels like there is no ventilation there. It's warm and stuffy. I wish they would circulate the air a little bit better. So I usually take food to go! Other than that I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great bagel muffin cafe.

Go, go, go-Now! Many varieties of delicious muffins including; cheesecake, chocolate chip banana, nuts and fruits, etc. Plus the most amazing lox, delicious bagels that come very close to those found in the delis of NYC. Decent coffee, sandwiches, and catering available too. The inside is sunny and clean, the staff always very nice.

I stopped in here after a haircut one morning because I realized I hadn't eaten much yet. I was asked what I would like as soon as I walked in and said I needed a moment, however I am very indecisive and spent a while looking at the menus. A lady that was working (she seemed authoritative and important but I don't know) helped me pick out a breakfast sandwich and made it for me; sausage, egg and melted cheese on an asiago bagel. It was so good! It was very inexpensive too, I think it was about $3. I was happy with my sandwich, the service and the price. Wish I lived closer.

$2.09 for a gourmet muffin? Miraculous! I was so impressed by their prices. I was expecting like $3-4 based on cupcake binges in Boston. I got the small sample ones because I couldn't decide! 3 for $1.75, I think? The only complaint was that the samples didn't come in as many cool flavors.

A-OK for sure. Fresh goods and coffee is really what you should be stopping here for. The clean and open decor, the friendly service, along with the freshly baked cookies, muffins and other baked goods makes this place a pleasant coffee stop. They do the flavored latte thing with fresh ground beans. That's why I like this place.

Really good breakfast sandwiches on bagels and croissants that are baked in house. They also had a very nice looking display of muffins and pastrys which I reluctantly did not try. Oh and they serve deli sandwiches as well.

The food here and the muffins, especially are... AWESOME. The only reason this didn't get five stars is that it's a little price-y for what you're getting. I love supporting local businesses and don't mind paying a bit extra but I think most folks in today's economy don't want to spend their cash on muffins. Anyway, suffice it to say, I've never had a bad experience at this place (except the one time I bought a cheese and bacon "bone" thinking it was just a quickie breadstick snack and tried eating it- they're actually bones! For dogs!) Other than that, free Wi-Fi and an AWESOME platter menu for family gatherings and events. I did a bagel and muffin platter for my family last holiday season and it worked out perfectly. Breakfast on Christmas morning was a no-brainer! Something for everyone here.

Came back two weeks ago, not having been in since June. They still remember my first name and how I take my bagel. Brilliant.

I'm only reviewing them because they have a cute name and superior muffins. 3 stars because Dunkin' Donuts is a 2 star establishment.

I went here based on the other review, in search of fantastic lox. Oh, the tears... the tears! Perfectly nice folks, good service, but just average food all around. Nothing to go out of the way for, and surely not the most amazing lox and/or bagels. Oh well.

Staff was very friendly and pleasant. I was immediately impressed by the variety, at least 12 different varieties of both the mini muffins and the large muffins. These muffins look great and are very good. They are however made from packaged mixes lending to their texture and consistency. There are no unique qualities to the individual muffin types each have the same shape and size. The muffins do not have "tops", thus resembling cupcakes more than muffins. The best muffins have tops!

  • Robert M.

I wish this place was closer, but then again, maybe it is for the best, low-carb diet and all. I was passing by one day and stopped in. I grabbed a few of their mini-muffins. I am not usually a muffin fan, but these were really good. The next weekend, I grabbed my wife and we headed back. I needed her opinion. She and I had a bagel and split a stuffed apple maple muffin. Simply over the top. The bagel was the best I had ever had and the muffin was amazing. So if you are near 37 and Post Road, do yourself a solid and stop by. I recommend the morning when they are all fresh. Just keep telling yourself, fat free, calorie free and you will be happy.

It's been over 6 months and 40 orders later so an update was definitely overdue. I have had my ups and downs with this company but over the last few weeks, Terri (Chief Baker) has turned my experience from an almost completely unsatisfied customer to a happy cheerleader referral customer. When I call in, I ask directly for her and only need to tell her my name and my order is done to perfection. Unfortunately, if Terri doesn't make my order, there is always a problem. This place gets a B- for effort but I'll have to rely on another business who ensures everyone knows how to make the proper order and how to provide CUSTOMER SERVICE. Terri, thank you for always taking care of my order personally; you give my mornings a great jump start but please have your staff wear hair nets. Hair in sandwiches is NEVER a fun way to start your morning (having hair tied back is not the same as protecting your hair as hair DOES shed and break off normally). Update as of 01/12/2013 @ 5:50pm: I'm deeply concerned at the way you have decided to handle this customer review. It is embarrassing that I had to receive a phone call from my boss at 5:00pm on a Saturday to let me know that you have continued to call my place of employment for a PERSONAL matter. This is beyond unprofessional but it is harassment! Please discontinue all calls and learn how to handle a customer's personal review, as everyone else did on this review site. I thought I wrote it with more gratitude than anything negative but you decided to take the latter. Thank you for ultimately deciding what comments I'll have when asked about this place. I'm undecided whether I will be posting the personal messages you've been sending me; talk about lack of ethics. I will not change my rating despite the horrendous personal and public responses because my opinion is based on my truthful experiences. Yelp reviewers, for a small inclination of how I much I truly liked this place, feel free to visit their Facebook page so that you may see when they were closed the day after Christmas, I jokingly said how my mornings are just not good when I can't have their food (yet the owner in a personal message took that as me complaining and ridiculed me for it). Thanks My "Favorite" Muffin.

Bagels are not full, soft and chewy, something is missing. Lox portion was minuscule. Did not satisfy that "lox and bagel craving. Bring your microscope if you want to find the lox. Funky coffee flavors, what's wrong with a great tasting coffee?, They have many flavors, but I prefer a good rich coffee like a Starbucks or New Harvest quality.

TL;DR: bagels great, muffins good but not for me, staff fantastic, coffee is a nope. Let's start with the muffins of the name. The muffins here are huge, in an impressive variety of flavors. The catch, for me, is that they're essentially cake. (Some of them are even FROSTED.) If you like that style of muffins - loaded down with chocolate and pie filling and cheesecake bits - then you will love My Favorite Muffin. If you'd rather not have your sugar requirements for the next three days met by one muffin, you might want to skip them. That said, if you treat the muffins as mini cakes or cupcakes, they're quite good! One of the staff suggested taking them home and serving them warm with ice cream, and I'll definitely be trying that. The bagels were an excellent alternative, though, if you want more breakfasty breakfast food. They have a perfect sourdough bagel, nice and tangy. The staff was really nice, very friendly. I have no doubts that this is the type of place that knows all their regulars' names.

Bagels are a bit different- but I LOVE them. I would describe them as having a crispy chewy exterior and light fluffy interior. They have lots of choices of cream cheese flavors and they are all delicious. I like that coffee is self serve and it's pretty decent coffee. There's usually at least 3 or 4 flavor choices. I've never had any lunch items but they all sound great. Muffins are delicious too, but more of a dessert.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the bagels from here! Love the veggie cream cheese too. The flavored ice coffees are aweseome too. Run- don't walk. Just GO!

They serve Brewster's Coffee which was excellent! It's self-serve though. They give you the fancy paper cup and you fill it in the counter with different kinds of coffee. They have many kinds of delicious-looking muffins and mini muffins, and all kinds of house made bagels. Breakfast sandwiches are on croissants and bagels. I got the cheese and scrambled eggs on a toasted poppyseed bagel. Really good!

Meah. My order was an everything bagel toasted with cream cheese. And it was good enough. But no more than that. The bagels looked beautiful: big and round, a bit shiny and like it would have a delicious bite and chew. Alas, I got chewy (taffy chewy) and no bite or texture. It was deliciously seeded on the top. But the bottom had nothing, which meant to really experience the everything in all of its lack luster deliciousness it had to be eaten like a sandwich. PVD is lacking in good bagels and this place isn't any different!

We love the bagels and cream cheese here. Especially the veggie cream cheese! It's hands down the best we've had.... Ever! They have unique bagel flavors and are always friendly when we stop in :) Even though I do not think of them this way, I've grabbed a lunch type of sandwich a few times and enjoyed each of those as well. A treat each time we go!

My experience here was extremely nasty and negative. I was having a great day until I stopped in here for a bagel and a cup of tea. I work in the area, so when I'm running short on time and have no other options, I come here for something to go. I have visited this shop off and on for about a year. A few orders ago, I noticed that the chive cream cheese on my bagel had big unappealing chunks of scallion stalk that pretty much ruined my bagel. Not wanting this to happen again, I politely asked today if I could have the chive cream cheese, but if there were big chunks of onion in it, to please avoid putting those on my bagel. Well, the owner flipped out on me and started complaining about me in front of a pretty crowded (for that place, that is) room. She was hissing and bitching and made it a point to march right up to the counter to thrust the open bagel in my face to show me a thing or two. The owner kept hissing and bitching and loudly telling people how I ALWAYS do that and that she's sick of it. I was so upset, I just yelled, "SCREW YOU LADY"--which she certainly deserved---as I walked out the door. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN HERE AGAIN, and will discourage anyone who is thinking about coming here for as long as I shall live. How's that for customer appreciation?

I have been coming here for awhile and I love the spinach bagel. The place is busy in the mornings, and service is usually decent. Today could have been a fluke, but it seems things have been going downhill with every visit. They were out of spinach (fine, it was after 2 so not a big deal) so I tried a different bagel. My boyfriend ordered a lightly toasted bagel with butter. We got our food and coffees and left. His bagel was not even toasted, it was burnt! I had asked for tomato on mine which was missing, and the coffee was expectedly awful (I usually get coffee elsewhere but we were in a rush). A note on the tomato- even when they include it, it needs seasoning. I feel like a jerk asking for a pinch of salt so I usually suffer through a bland slice of tomato, but really guys, a little salt will make it shine! I will likely be back to give them another shot, but at least now my expectations are lowered. The muffins (they're cupcakes don't kid yourself) are amazing, and honestly, who cares if the woman serving them is a sour-puss, they still taste yummy!

Great selection I love that they have so many mini muffins to choose from its great if you can't decide on one or for kids they always have fresh dog biscuits

This is a real hidden gem. The bagels and house made cream cheese are my favorite. I stop in at least 3 times a week before work. Fantastic selection of sandwiches and other lunch foods as well. The service is always fast and friendly. Love this place!

You feel a little like you are walking into a Pharrell's "Happy" flash mob. Amazing Turkey sandwich with havarti on a bagel roll. Must try! Not loving the coffee pumps but the atmosphere does pump you up. Deli is so good I can overlook coffee pumps.

Stopped here on the way to the airport on a whim. Never been here before. The muffins were pretty good, but the bagel sandwiches ... Oh the bagels. So incredibly good. Add that to warm and efficient staff? I'll be back.

Had lunch here today for my first time (though I am a 3 day a week min regular breakfast customer lol) and had the 'Holy Guacamole' turkey sandwich with peppers and guacamole on a spinach bagel and it was perfect! Thick cut turkey and a nice stack of it too, they definitely don't skimp here (and its still only $5.49!) The guacamole was perfect and went well with the sandwich. Overall very satisfied and can't wait to try something else.

I stopped in a few weeks ago (my first visit)... I got a lox bagel and a few of the mini muffins from the display case. They looked so good I just had to. Everything was very good... I've been craving a lox bagel ever since and am considering heading over now just to get one. The service was great... Everyone was very friendly and you got the feeling that it was a happy, friendly business where the employees like their jobs and know their customers. I mean.... I could be totally wrong, but that was my impression and I liked it. (It's not pleasant going into businesses where you can clearly tell the employees hate their jobs, so I really appreciate when employees are friendly and cheerful.... Which they all were!) Recap: Food was great, service was great! Two thumbs up!

Just ate their bagels this morning, it was so tasty. Probably better than a New York bagel! Definitely would eat there every morning if I could
