I spent almost a month living in the Hampton Inn across the street, while working on a contract project for an important customer. I ate here almost a 1/2 a dozen times during that period, and every meal I had, was just fantastic. During that period I ate several lobsters, some excellent crab legs, and some other seafood specials. It was all super tasty, and well prepared. If you are on your way to or from the airport in Warwick, and need somewhere to eat, where you are assured a good meal and good service, I would highly recommend this place.

Loved it!!! Didn't know this was a chain and near the airport and my hotel so thought I would give it a try. Had the haddock fritters to start with a crab cake to die for. Bowl of lobster bisque that was served with lobster chunks, the properly poored bisque over it table side...... also to die for. My buddy had a fish sandwich, I had the crab roll and have to say I was impressed. Place was packed, nicely decorated and service was fantastic. Crystal was our server and we had a ball! She was on the ball, had great recommendations and guided our dinner. Will have to come back and ask for her again. Would have spent less if service was slow, but since she was on the ball, she knows how to work it. Great job. Will be back!!!

good food, good service. much much better then we expected. crab cake is full of big chunk of meat, fried shrimp/clam are average. seafood casserole is surprisingly good. dfinitely will be one of our restaurant choice when comes to eat.

I've only eaten here once, and it was before picking someone up at the T.F. Green Airport. Once is enough. I ordered the Swordfish dinner well done and it did not come back well done. I was to hungry to complain so I just ate it. The service was average but the waitress had an attitude which caused her tip to be low. I would not recommend this one. It's too expensive and your paying for the name.

Went to the Legal Seafoods in Huntington, NY and was very pleased again. The sangria was awesome. My bf had the filet mignon and was very impressed, which for him is saying a lot. This is a man who frequents Bryant & Coopers. Def recommend this place.

Overpriced and mediocre quality. Staff a little too attentive, kept interrupting important family moments.

Very good location near the airport hotels. This Legal has a more casual feel than others I've been in, and that's a good thing. Service was good, and the food was really good - as always. Good, fresh oysters, great fresh fish, and really good Crispy Fish Stew as the special served over an soup-like stew of greens, beans and a thin tomato broth. The crispy fish came from one piece of fried cod draped on top and that was topped with some creme fraiche. I suggest checking out the specials board for it. When I went back less than a week later, it was gone.

They treated both my girlfriend and I very well. We both have food allergies and they were more than helpful. I am selfish and peanut, she is Gluten. They have a whole gluten menu and separate gluten free beard. My girlfriend was very excited. She got Mussel and Lobster both from the menu. She said both were very good. I got the swordfish with vegetables and it was cooked perfectly. Service was very good and I was impressed that the server suggested a cheaper wine than the one I wanted. It was very good and I was glad I made the switch. They also knew what we could and couldn't have with our allergies without having to go ask the chef a bunch of times. I was impressed.

Yes legal is a chain but they right by their food. I had an unexpected layover in Providence. So I hopped over to legal on Memorial day. The service was great. Very prompt and friendly. He was up for a conversation but not long winded. My fiancé has to avoid gluten and they had a gluten free menu and rolls. Nice touch. They also have oysters at 1 for $1. Given that I am used to 1 for $3-$4 this was great. The food was good all around. Lite clam chowder and oyster apps. Ciplioni and crab legs for dinner. We had flights to taste as well. They were very nice selection and complemented the seafood very well. One word of warning. The legs were pre split which I do not care for. So ask for non split legs. They do use table side credit card machines. This is for your benefit to avoid credit card theft. This is going to become more common so might as well get use to it.

Four words : BEST Crab Legs Evah! If you're a Rhode Islander, you know that a) everyone here eats lobster b) it's impossible to find really decent crab legs unless you find that cheap Southwest flight to Tampa, FL or hide your way into Hooters along Airport Road. For those crab leg fans (you guessed it... I have a *slight* obsession here), you'll love those served by Legal Seafoods. The bad news is that they're the most expensive item on the menu : mine cost $45. The good news is that you'll walk away and remember these as being one of the tastiest and freshest legs you've had in eons. At least in this state. We also had a taste of the tuna sashimi (great pieces of tuna, but the sauce was bland) and the Everything Tuna main course, which was pretty decent. Service is excellent : our waitress was from Eastern Russia and willing to do everything to make sure we were happy. 2 managers came by to ask us how the food was and whether we were content with the experience. When I came here a few years ago, I found it bland and unworthy, but they've definitely stepped up their game. If you're in town for seafood, and can't make it to the coast, this is a good place to catch up on your fish cravings. (FYI : parking lot is often full, so you'll find yourself walking a ways from the hotel parking lot to the restaurant)

went to legal seafood with some co-workers tonight and had the clam chowder followed by the legal trio the food was superb the waiter (KEITH) made it a great experience even though it was a large party he handled us with ease and superb customer service

Wow. Expensive. And what a stupid name. It threw me off, I wasn't expecting it to be so fancy inside. I mean, it's not formal, but a lot nicer than it appears from the outside. I only got the lobster bisque, and it was as good as anywhere else, so if it's cheaper somewhere else I'd rather go there. $10 for a bowl of soup is a bit much. Everything else was crazy expensive too. And my $12 margarita tasted like pure sour mix...

A very good experience. The waiter was exceptional, a nice balance of information and timing. We split an order of wonderful raw Long Island oysters at a happy hour special of 6 for $6.00. LOML enjoyed a very moist piece of grilled swordfish while I scarfed down the Portuguese fishermen stew. Nice wine selection in various price ranges. In total, great waiter, good food and friendly atmosphere.

Great food, good service. When the food is this good you don't mind paying a little more. The seafood smell is a little strong at first but you get used to it quickly. CLEAN bathrooms!!

Traveled all day and we were looking for a good place to eat close by. We are staying at the Hampton Inn because we are traveling with our dogs. I cannot say enough about Legal seafood. The manager went above and beyond. Oysters were excellent. Ordered both, little necks and oysters. Satisfied. They do an excellent business. Worth it. Would recommend. Good stuff!

I love Legal ! IN BOSTON/CAMBRIDGE!!! Totally disappointed in this Warwick Wannabe. Friday evening, not busy. Calamari App.(RI Style) overfried and rubbery. Second iteration, less fried but still tough and chewy. My swordfish well done but forgot the bernaise and the sauce for the broccoli. Brought me a frozen lump of bernaise butter that wouldn't melt on the fish, nasty. My dining partner's New England fried clams were not crisp but rather soft and mushy. Inedible! I brought them home for the cat and he won't eat them! What a waste of a nice evening let alone the one hundred bucks! Really, really disappointed after so looking forward to going back to a Legal now that we're in RI.

I got the clam chowder here and my friends got the Friday Special which was an all you can eat fish and chips with a dessert for 16.95. That is not a bad deal considering the price of the rest of the menu had sky rocketing prices. The clam chowda, (as Bostonians would pronounce it) was creamy and tasty. Although, I still think my friend Ben Leong made a much better clam chowder that included a red pepper spice and more vegetables. I would recommend that as a choice to maybe the owner who might be reading this. The most interesting part of the experience was the automatic credit card checkout at the table. This location was the first and only restaurant to adopt this easy method of paying for a meal.

Had an expensive, overcooked lobster. It's hard to spoil a lobster, but they managed. The meat gets stringy and sticks to the shell. Should've complained, but didn't....

I loved everything about this restaurant. The staff was friendly and out going. The food was made to perfection. I will be back. I flew into RI for a weekend and this was a wonderful highlight of my trip.

We dined here last night and as always Legal Seafood delivers a solid service and meal. We ordered the crab dip for an appetizer, it was piping hot and full of crab served with lobster crackers. For dinner we ordered the stuffed shrimp, fish & chips, and the almond crusted salmon. The stuffing in the shrimp was seasoned perfectly and the shrimp were very tender, the fish & chips were served hot and crispy, and the salmon was out of this world - the salmon was cooked perfectly served over mushroom ravioli and sauteed spinach with a lemon caper sauce - awesome! We were all happy with our meals and the serve was spot-on. We finished with the chocolate bread pudding which seemed similar to a hot moist brownie right out of the oven! If you are craving fresh seafood, Legal Seafood is for you!

I walked across the street from the Hampton Inn airport and it was before 6p so I got 6 oysters for $6. That was good. The. I ordered fried clam dinner, that was ok - some of the clams were huge like you use for chowder, others were smaller, and not that many. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great.

I pretty much never have seafood so I can't give Legal a fair rating based on it's food but I do still have a solid argument for taking stars away from it. When the check came at the end of the meal the waitress explained their self-swipe credit card thing that she brought to our table for us. Um... excuse me, isn't that part if your job? Smile, take my order, bring me food, take my money and give it to your boss. Now you've decided that last step is too much work and I need to be taught how to use your portable credit card machine? I really wish I had a few $100 bills in my wallet so that she'd have to give me $97 change. I go out to eat because I don't want to cook. I hand you a credit card because I don't want to think about how I'm paying for my meal.

I ordered what was suppose to be fish and chips, which turned out to be two limp pathetic excuses for fish, and soggy fries, I also ordered a bowl of clam chowder... The chowder was way too small which is fine because it tasted what I imagine human excrement would taste like. I passionately wish I could give them a zero star... Worst experience I have had in a long time.

The decor of the Warwick Legal Sea Foods is slightly older and more down to earth. The restaurant is not located in a business center or at a mall with a lot of foot traffic, but it is very close to the Airport and near area hotels. Our server was very friendly and attentive to our needs throughout the entire meal. When a mistake was made with one of our sides, it was corrected immediately and without hassles. I recommend getting any of the grilled fish with no extra flavors or sauces added, as the simplicity of the dish really lets the freshness of the fish shine through. I had the bluefish with sides of jasmine rice and sauteed spinach ($17.95). I'm not sure if I have ever had bluefish before but I loved the texture of the fish and how the filet was just charred slightly on the surface but yet was still tender inside. Bottom Line: We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Excellent establishment all around.

I have been here over and over again and have yet to be impressed. The food isn't terrible, but for the reputation that Legal Seafood has, it certainly doesn't own up...and neither does the service, that also gets 2 stars.

My last meal in Rhode Island was, unfortunately, at a restaurant that I could have eaten at in VA. It's no fault of theirs and I won't hold it against them in this review, but because of the small window of time I had before my flight home on Friday, I chose Legal because they are right across the street from PVD. I was in a party of 6 and we arrived at the peak of lunch time. Our server was very quick to bring out some bread (the rolls are NO competition for the ones at Bertuccis, just down the road). I looked over the menu and made a decision to go with the grilled scallops with a side of fries. Our food arrived in a respectable amount of time, all at once, and all of our food was hot. When I considered how busy the restaurant was, I appreciated this little detail. My scallops were perfect. I've had scallops in places where they were slightly overcooked, but Legal got 'em right. My fries were really good, too. They had a little pepper and some garlic salt to jazz 'em up. After lunch, I had to rush outta there, but I would highly recommend Legal based on their great service, great food, and wide variety of seafood on their menu.

I fly into Providence once a month and I almost always make a stop at the Legal Seafood just outside the airport. I have had a couple dishes there, but my favorite is the Rhode Island Red Chowder!! Being from the midwest, good chowder isnt common (obviously). But I have been trying different chowders in different parts of the New England over the past year. Some of the best Rhode Island Red I have had is at Legal Seafood! It is great. I am not usually big now chain restaurants, but 9 restaurants isnt really a chain to me. Legal Seafood makes are good Rhode Island Red Chowder and they always have warm bread hehehe. As those who have read my reviews, I have a soft spot for Soup and bread! For those who are flying out of Providence, stop at here for before your flight great meal to avoid quick lame airport food. Business travelers understand!

Not sure what all the hype is about. Greek salad had too much dressing/oil and seafood fra diavolo didn't contain all that much seafood.

Underwhelmed. My impression is: This place ain't what it used to be. It used to be a cut above, good service, a big plate of fresh seafood and trimmings, prepared mostly traditionally and nearly perfectly. The seafood is still very fresh and the plates are still good-sized. But something is missing. For dinner for two at about 7:30 on a recent weeknight we were seated immediately. We ordered nearly identical martinis. One came out full, not to the brim, but carryable. The other was down about 1/2 inch or more, at that level a good couple of ounces. Did no one notice or did no one care? The Rhode Island red chowder is a classic there. It was tasty, but not particularly hot. Did no one notice or did no one care? Seafoods had some choices for cajun spice or "everything crust" which is sort of like an everything bagel or pretzel. Gone were the clear classic choices of blackened, baked, broiled or fried, which now you just have to know to choose from. We ordered different dishes; neither of us thought the preparations particularly inspired, just ok. When we asked for the check, the check didn't exactly come. Instead we got a handheld keypad and printer with something like, "ok, whenever you're ready just swipe your card and it'll tell you what to do, thanks good night." Maybe it's a cost saver and maybe it's to keep our credit cards securely with us. But it felt like just one more of a little less.

I love Legal Seafood and was so excited when we got to go yet again on our way of town. We were flying back home, the end of Christmas Trip with family. This location is the bomb in its proximity to the airport! I started off with the fish chowder which was scrupmtious!!!!!!!!! Also, I don't know what makes their bread so damn good...maybe it is the crunchy outside couple with the warm middle...so good especially when you are dunking it in the chowder! For my main course, I had the seafood casserole. NOTE: IT IS VERY RICH!!! So rich that it almost made it difficult to eat. I maybe ate a third of it. Lots of good stuff in it...shrimp, scallops, and cod OH MY!!! You had your choice of it in a cream sauce or a garlic butter sauce...I chose the garlic butter because I thought it would be lighter....WRONG! I just wish I had been forewarned..oh well. Everyone else at the table got the scrod and there was not a drop left on anyone else's plate....so I take it from that it was pretty darn tasty. The BF started out with oysters as well...forgot to mention that and he said "they were to die for!!!" I will say that is definitely a thumbs up review from him! We topped off our late lunch with key lime pie and coffee and the pie was ridiculously good! If you like Key lime pie...you need to go here. Our server was spot on. Always there when we needed him and left us alone when appropriate...he also had that great New England accent!! It was a perfect way to end our time in New England!

I'm a big fan of the Legal Seafood Chain, I never pass a location without stopping. My favorite dishes are the steamers, whole belly clams, calamari, muscles, and the fried oysters. I'm disappointed the Washington DC airport location has closed, I would route my flights thru this location just to eat at Legal!

  • Rockey F.

Ate here three times in 24 hours during my son's graduation weekend at Brown. They offer 6 oysters for $6 before 6pm, and they're great. Excellent crab cakes, which I ordered 3 times. Grilled scallops and lobster roll were great. Clam chowder was very good, not too thick. Right next to the airport, so leave extra time to eat here before your flight. One suggestion: fix the smell around the bathrooms. Get some flowers, light a candle, but do something.

Yum yum yum.. I used to live near the white plains, ny legal seafoods and I miss it greatly. Well, I got called to the east coast for work and I got in the plane and wondered if I would be close to one. Carma has prevailed and we are staying at the raddison right next door. Can you say seafood every night. Hells yea!!!

Good food well served as always. We had a group of 7, and everyone's food was perfect. The waiter was knowledgable and helpful. I had cioppino, a spicy broth with lotsbof seafood - lobster mussels clams shrimp and scallops. Mmmmmmmmmmm. Just a little pricey for eveyday but worth it

The second time around, it was even better. I am not prone to frequent 'chains', but this establishment has a whole story behind it. (I will elaborate tomorrow) I was near the airport to drop off a friend to Arizona, and they are just up the road, conveniently. For now, suffice to say., they had the best of: Blue Point Oysters - succulent, fresh, briny, large. Purr-fect. A Portuguese Stew - Unforgettable, with chorizo, mussels, clams, cod, and a sauce that was like no other. A blackened tuna (appetizer) sashimi, with exotic spices - smokey, teasing, still raw, with an aoli that was equally tantalizing and mysterious and to me, almost unfamiliar. I wanted to order more oysters, surf and turf, and a wonderful scallop dish - over salad, but I was too full to have anything but desert. From my previous reviews you know I usually don't do desert, but here it seemed fitting. I had a chocolate profiterole, (better than any I ever had in the Caribbean) and a B & B. It was just perfect. The service was good. My waitress was knowledgeable about the food, the wine, the deserts and the after-dinner drinks. She was honest about what was truly worthwhile. It turns out, the most nontraditional seafood dish, the Portuguese stew, is her favorite also. Everything, including traditional lobster, and steak and every thing 'seafood' is just as good. It just depends what you're in the mood for. The delicacies I had were something I don't often stumble upon. I wanted something traditional, but with a twist, and I got it. Go here. The atmosphere is casual, but the food is seriously upscale, and consistent. (More about the history of how it came to be, tomorrow.) If you are going to have some wine, you are better off with a bottle of Chardonay, than any wine by the glass. Bon Appetit! Legal Seafoods should almost be illegal, it is that good.

Really good quality food. A bit pricey for dinner but lunch is a better deal for great meal! Either way it is a good choice.

  • Daniel L.

It's pretty good, mainly because of the large selection of different kinds of seafood, but otherwise, I'm not hugely impressed. Not that I would avoid it, but there are other seafood places that I think are better. The service is competent and good, but not great, and the prices are a bit high for what is offered. The last time I went I was disappointed in the serving size of my fried oysters. For these prices, I prefer Hemenway's in Providence. If I've got money burning a hole in my pocket and I want seafood, I really like Providence Oyster Bar.

This chain restaurant always has fresh seafood and good service and if you catch one of these spots in Boston, you can't go wrong since it is based here. This location on the other hand is a dump and is in the worst spot possible, on a main drag in Warwick across from the airport tucked behind some divey Radission. The interior is a cramped mess of table and servers tripping over each other. The service is usually good at Legals but this location it is a nightmare. The food is still fresh and inventive and the drinks are always good. I would steer clear of this location if this is your first time visiting one of these restaurants because this one will leave a bad taste in your mouth!

Really fresh seafood here that's for sure!!! I wasn't crazy for the coconut shrimp because it was covered in giant slices of coconut totally overpowering the flavor of the shrimp. They would have been much better if it was a finer shred of coconut. Fishermans platter was the best i'd ever had, so good i even ate the calamari which i usually won't touch including the bottoms!!!!!! Fries were nothing special but the seafood is where this place shines BRIGHTLY!!! Dayboat cod for the fish n' chips was the most tender flakey fish we had ever tried. We will return again but with it being alittle pricey it's more for those "special" occasions

This was a treat. Went with a friend and were quickly seated at a table for two at eight on a Friday night, and opted to sit inside despite outdoor seating on a patio out front. We split a half-dozen Blue Point oysters (yum!) and enjoyed the hot rolls with butter. The soft shell crab Provencal was a buttery delight, but my 1.5 pound lobster was overcooked and the meaty tail was kinda dry, although the claws were delicious. And I do love a baked potato! Our waiter was generally attentive and helpful. He disappeared for a barely-noticeable maybe ten minutes during dinner, and came back, apologized, and to our surprise, offered us desserts on the house! The Boston cream pie was very, very good!

Well, we all know how good Legal Sea Foods are. The one that makes this restaurant different from the rest is that you'll find future five star chefs in the kitchen here. Why you ask? Well, it's got something to do with Johnson & Wales. In fact, the same goes for almost any restaurant in the Providence area.

  • Laura C.

Ordered a dozen oysters before 6pm, meaning they were only $1/each. Yay! Delicious Malpeques from PEI. Had a cup of NE Clam Chowder that was fantastic--wish I'd had a bowl, but thankfully I saved my appetite for the perfect crab cake. It was all lump crabmeat & no fillers! And they allowed me to have a side-Caesar instead of their seasonal salad. Even the Caesar was especially good. Oh, and I got a nibble of my table mate's linguine diavola (spelling?)...it was perfectly spicy & delicious! No complaints other than the servers being slightly (only slightly!) unorganized--but we had a large group w/ several young children, so that's understandable.

We went for dinner. It was one of the first nights of the new menu so there were no specials. Started with the Rhode Island style calamari, then New England clam chowder. Both were good. Then had the almond salmon. It came over spinach and raviolis on the side. The fish was good but I was not that wild about the raviolis. We skipped dessert. Others at the table had fish and chips made with cod. It looked ok.

This is the only Legal Seafoods that I'll still go to, and despite the fact that every other location suffers from inconsistent service and food quality, THIS location NEVER disappoints! My message to the local management: change your name and stop paying franchise fees, you are way too good for Legal Seafoods.

We ate here twice during our visit to Rhode Island. The food was delicious, simply prepared and the presentation was good. The staff here was phenomenal! The hostess recognized us when we returned the second time . Our first meal was dinner and our waiter Keith B. was jewel. He offered suggestions and was attentive without stalking us. We liked it so much that after driving to another place the next afternoon for lunch and finding the appearance less than enticing we made a u turn out of the lot and drove straight back to Legal seafood. The first night we had the lobster bake and the seafood casserole. The lobster bake was a good sized lobster, stuffed ,mussels and little neck clams all cooked to perfection. The seafood casserole was a creamy mix of big shrimp, HUGE scallops and fish. It was tasty ,but a little bland the addition of some garlic would have set it off. But I am a fan of garlic I would recommend that all who visit the providence area and like seafood visit and dine here at least once. Our second visit was lunch we had the crab cakes which were fabulous, moist , well cooked, all lump crab, no breaking or fillers. The lobster bisque is also great.

For a chain, Legal Seafoods is surprisingly amazing. And, being from RI, people often look at you funny if you go to a place like Legal when there are so many great fish places around. But, many of those are seasonal and Legal is open year-round (point for Legal). I am always very impressed with the service here. The wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and can even make a few recommendations from time to time. I have a serious weak spot for the crab cakes, which are made of lump crab meat and little to no presence of any fillers like bread crumbs. The salmon is always out of this world as well. For our gluten free friends, many of the dishes are able to be made GF - even better. they have GF rolls for when bread is brought to the table so no one is left out!

  • Jeremy D.

Pros: fresh seafood Cons: the fresh bread isn't very good, they don't know how to cook vegetables, (they're bland and overcooked), and as seems to be the norm around here, the portions are huge and the entree is soaked in butter.

    (3)
  • Jennifer F.

Legal seafood restaurant is typically a new england favorite; however, the Warwick branch missed the mark. The shrimp was overcooked to the point of a dense rubber texture and the lobster bisque was watery and probably would have tasted better from a cafeteria. Service was inattentive and overall just a poor dining experience. Warwick branch is ruining the legal seafood restaurant brand/ image.

Extremely busy, reservations are recommended. Waited about 30 minutes as a walk in for 2, which was fine, they have a small space to wait and standing around the bar is ok. Once seated the service was excellent. Timely water refills and well timed check-ins. Our main reason of coming here was to check out the extensive Gluten Free options, mainly the fried seafood. They use a chickpea base batter that works great with fried seafood. So of course we ordered the fish and chips and fishermans platter. The fish was prefect along with the clam bellies and scallops. The batter was alittle thick on the shrimp and the fries could be better. Can't seem to find a place that pairs good fish with good fries.... This location isn't as nice as others i've seen but everything else lives up to Legal standards.

We came here before my second child (who happens to have a shellfish allergy) was born. The food was incredible. Fresh and flavorful. Great drink selection. Plenty of decent wines sold by the glass as well as bottle were available to accompany the many different dishes. They had a good selection of dishes and sides for my daughter (who was two at the time). My favorite dish here is not even seafood. It is the chopped Greek salad. It is vegetarian but you can add protein to it if you'd like (for a fee). The entire salad is chopped. Lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes and kalamata olives. Then it is topped with feta and tossed in a kalamata olive dressing that is BY FAR the best salad dressing on the PLANET. Have you noticed that I LOVE this salad? I order it often. They offer take out and it is quick. The manager even took a picture of us eating and gave it to us in a little Legal Seafood frame. Great experience, great food.

Went here for dinner in Warwick Rhode Island. It was about 8:30 pm. There were four of us. When the girl came to seat us she brought us to a table. Seeing there were empty booths we asked if we could sit at a booth. The girl told us that booths were only for reservations. Helloooo it was almost 9 pm. Who is going to reserve a booth at that time? There were empty booths. Then I saw their prices! Wow talk about overpriced. We decided to leave and go somewhere else. As we were leaving my husband overheard the bartender call us freaks. He should talk!! Needless to say this restaraunt is no way high class enough for the prices they charge.

Outstanding service, our waiter was attentive but not to the level of hovering. The steamers and shrimp cocktail were both very fresh, delicious and a great start to our meal. The steamers weren't sandy at all, a problem all too common in other lesser establishments. I didn't see their lobster roll on the menu, but me and my brother ordered it nonetheless. By default, it comes with a leaf of green lettuce, green onion, and celery throughout the lobster. I really dislike celery, so I got mine without and it was great. The green onion in a lobster roll is something I haven't seen elsewhere, but I really liked it, it gave it a good complementary taste in the background. The lettuce provided a good, refreshing crunch. The fries on the side were good, they were topped with salt, pepper, and I think onion powder or something. Finally, for dessert, I ordered the Belgian chocolate mousse parfait. Why is it called a parfait? I'm still trying to figure that one out. But it was delicious all the same. Thick, rich chocolate mousse, chilled, alternating with fresh whipped cream in a glass.

Delicious, gourmet-quality seafood at gourmet-quality prices. The menu is interesting, the service attentive, and the food is fabulous. But yikes, the prices! I would say that his is the best restaurant chain in New England to bring out-of-towners to who want to be wowed by New England seafood cuisine. And trust me -- they will be impressed. But as locals, we all know there are many cheaper, greasier, edgier, and equally tasty seafood delights to be found elsewhere.

I have only ever ordered one thing here, and I never intend to branch out. The crabcakes are RIDICULOUS. They are about 85% crab and 15% filler, which to me is the perfect ratio. The crab is mild and sweet, and there are HUGE chunks of it throughout the cake. This is not one of those cakes where it seems that all the ingredients have been pureed together in a blender, to the point where the cake is one note and has a gross texture. It is light, sweet and chock full of crab! I cannot say enough about how delicious it is. Additionally, I have never had substandard service here. In fact, once I wanted to get my leftovers wrapped up but wasn't headed home for a while. They boxed up my leftovers and then placed them in a larger container of ice. Now that is good service. If you love crabcakes, get here and order these... you will not be disappointed.

ugh, had lobster roll and was soggy.....not bad for a big chain and Roger Berkowitz is going long ball on prices.....If you really want a outstanding New England seafood resturant go to Hemingway's in Providance...excellent creative food, room and service...can't wait to go back!!!!

I swore I would never go to this location against I found myself here and sadly nothing had changed. My hubby really wanted the tuna appetizer that we always get at the good locations like Braintree/Boston....so I hesitantly went. Food has improved but it's still not up to Legal standards as far as I am concerned (If you've been to a Massachusetts location you will know what I mean). Crab cakes were cold, and the server brought food out all out of order and too soon. We just got appetizers when all of a sudden the server puts a scorching plate in front of my 13 month old daughter with fries just out of the hot oil. (NO common sense). I got my mean, and my husbands came out almost 8 minutes later. It was awkward to eat in front of him then have to wait for him (he felt rushed). In the end the tuna appetizer wasn't really worth it. We love Legals, just not this location.

This was just ok. Over priced for what it was. Has special teriyaki salmon and tempura veggies and it was ok. ( salmon over cooked veggies under cooked) ordered lobster bisque soup for $11 with minimal lobster and no other substance to it. Expensive for the quality

Great food, i have ordered a swordfish with mashed potato a jalapeño polenta sides, the fish was so tasty that I didn't eat my two sides! I ordered the jalapeño polenta because I like spicy food but it did not come spicy at all. Will be coming back for sure.

This Legal Sea Foods is close to the airport and Providence. I went here last Friday and I ordered the all-you-can-eat shrimp platter and made sure to order the shrimp Cajun style. The order comes with the dessert of the day as well as bottomless fries and shrimp/fish. Thankfully, our server had the courtesy to hold back on the fries after the initial round, which instead allowed me to focus on eating the battered shrimp. One common thing I've realized about many places on the East Coast is that restaurants don't really carry ranch. They have other sauces that closely imitate ranch, but they don't carry that buttermilk style that us westerners tend to utilize for anything fried. The server, having come from California himself, was able to bring out a close imitation of ranch. I noticed that the servers have some pretty cool technology here. They have a wireless device that enters in people's orders and sends it to the kitchen wirelessly. That saves on time for the server from having to run the orders back and check up to answer any questions at the table. Related to the tech: One of the cool aspects of this place is that they utilize an increasing European trend of providing a wireless credit/debit card reader to pay for the bill. It's similar to what you see next to cash registers when you have your card swiped, but they bring it instead to you at your table. You can also type in the amount of tip and it provides the percentage next to the dollar amount you add on for tip. You just have to remember to swipe and hit okay several times to print a store copy and a copy for your records. If anything, though this Legal Seafoods is like most others in New England, this location is the first to heavily utilize nifty technology in taking and relaying orders. I had to share with the server that back in California, though we haven't quite adopted the credit card machines to pay, we have restaurants like u-Wink and increasingly Dave & Buster's, which heavily utilize a paging system that even calls servers over when patrons need help or are ready to order.

Really impressive! Incredibly fresh and well-prepared seafood for incredibly reasonable prices. Very pleasantly surprising. Elsewhere this food would cost a fortune. A really good find for great seafood. Service is great too - very friendly folks there.

Never eaten at one of these place till now. I think it's a bit expensive but the food is above average. There seaweed salad rocks and I highly recommend it. Service was very good. Definatly a good dinner spot. Little to expensive for lunch. Dinner for two with a couple drinks will be at least 70 plus tip.

Legal Seafood has everything going for it including their location right across the street from the Providence Airport, but they prepare and price food like a tourist trap. The food was good but not spectacular for a $20 lunch. The waitress was very good and attentive. May not go back for a while.

My husband is down on the area for work, so we decided to walk over to the Legal Seafood for a dinner one night. I ordered a delicious bowl of clam chowder (white) and a perfectly made lobster roll. My husband got a pasta dish with a ton of different sea food in it. We got some warm rolls and our drinks from the very nice waitress. My bowl of soup came out, along with an appetizer my husband ordered, both very delicious. Our main dishes came out, and we were both very happy with the generous portions. My lobster roll was grilled perfectly and was over flowing with claws and tail meat. We ordered and split a bananas foster, that our waitress brought out in two orders (the portion size was amazing!) The bananas were warm and covered with their delicious carmel sauce. Served over a few scoops of vanilla ice cream, totally hit the spot. The only thing that was a little ho-hum were the French fries that came with my order. But I didn't go there for the fries.

I'm going to just go ahead and up my rating to 5 stars. We had a meal here recently and it was amazing. We were celebrating some good news for my son and he loves seafood so we hit Legal Seafood. I absolutely love the kid's menu here. They have all the standards like chicken tenders and hot dogs but they also offer half a lobster, fish sticks, and adorable fish shaped chese ravioli. I also love that each meal comes with a vegetable and a wedge of watermelon. Our server - I don't remember his name - was fantastic. He brought my son a side a rice with his ravioli even though it didn't come with it. He also went back and pulled a toy that my son had wrapped in a napkin out of the trash and he didn't even seem to mind. I started off with a drink that I can't recall the name of - a Cucumber Cooler or something similar. It was tasty and refreshing! We tried the calamari special - an italian spin on it with tomato, olives, and artichokes - and it was awesome. My sons had stuffies for appetizers. We sampled everything and everyone enjoyed. The stuffies are so different than what we're used to - you can actually see large chunks of seafood in the breading. Our dinners were good but didn't quite live up to the appetizers. One of my sons had the half lobster. They take the lobster out of the shell and arrange it back into the shell. It's perfect for a kid. I had the pistachio coated salmon - the coating was great but the fish was a bit over done. My husband had the baked scrod which he loved. I liked the tomato on top - I'll have to try that when I make it at home. It's easy to forget about this restaurant due to its location but the food and service is fantastic.

What an excellent experience! The service is great and the seafood taste so fresh. At the end of my meal they even placed my dessert on top of a pledge certificate assuring that all the food that is prepared is fresh. Like I said before .... What an excellent experience! #delish

Been to Legal many times throughout my life. I believe my first trip was at Boston Logan 15 years ago when I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area. In SF my favorite chowder came from Scoma's and I had never tasted anything that came anywhere near Scoma's. I had a few hours delay at Logan and decided to walk into Legal and ordered a cup of the chowder and was amazed. Don't get me wrong, Scoma's still holds the number 1 spot in my chowder life, but Legal is a very close second! This is THE BEST chowder on the right coast! Enjoy!

My boyfriend and I had been craving good seafood for a while and decided to try out Legal Sea Foods in Warwick, mostly because of the convenient location about 10 minutes from his house and postive word-of-mouth reviews. I was nervous about the 3.5 star rating on Yelp, but I put aside my doubts and we visited the night before Valentine's Day. I made a reservation on OpenTable for 7:15 and I'm so glad we did. We got there a little after 7, made our way through the crowded waiting area, and were immediately seated. We were greeted by our waiter, and I wish I remembered his name so I could mention it here. He was probably in his 30s or 40s and he was a delight. He was very funny, with a dry sense of humor, which my boyfriend and I both enjoyed. We each ordered a glass of the red sangria. When he returned, he spilled one of the glasses on the table, and a little happened to get on my brand new, ivory dress. He was horrified, but it didn't bother me. He immediately got the manager and she gave me some information about how to send a dry cleaning receipt to their corporate location in Boston to be refunded for the costs. I thought that was very nice. The waiter was very apologetic for the rest of the evening but was thankful for how easygoing I was about it. It happens. I worked in food service for 5 years. No one is perfect. I wasn't going to let it effect my night. The food was really good. We ordered calamari for an appetizer, which I could have done without. I am admittedly a calamari snob and if it's the least bit soggy or really chewy, I am not pleased. But that's my fault for being so picky, not theirs. I ordered the baked stuffed shrimp casserole which was incredible and my boyfriend ordered lobster ravioli, which he talks about every. single. day. Overall, I was very pleased with both the food and the service. I can't wait to return!

FOOD I ordered the New England Clam Chowder to start - it was delicious with generous portions of clam. I was also brought warm rolls to start off my dinner. For my entree I ordered the Lobster Ravioli. Just as with the chowder there were generous portions of lobster in this dish. The sauce was not very good though - the Alfredo sauce appeared thick as if it were sitting out for a while. Additional pesto sauce was added, creating an odd appearance of separation between the two sauces. Then another thick sauce was dallopped on each ravioli - also appearing too thick as if left out too long. The ravioli itself was quite good - I ended up scraping sauce off because there was so much of it. I would not recommend this dish unless you are a fan of an exorbitant amount of sauce with your food. The salad that accompanied the ravioli was light and refreshing with pine nuts and a balsamic dressing - it was perfect to cut the richness of the ravioli. SERVICE The service was overall good - regular check ins from my server and excellent first impression by the host. LOCATION & SPACE Legal was conveniently located across the street from my hotel - the Hampton Inn. I walked over and was graciously welcomed by a friendly, smiling host. I was dining alone and they had the perfect 2 person booth for me with a convenient hook at each booth for coats. The space was spacious yet comfy - I enjoyed the atmosphere and jazz music playing in the background.

I give this place nearly 5 stars for the food and 2 for the service. After three visits I can say the freshness of the seafood is first rate with the preparation ranging from good to very good. During one dinner visit my bill came to $70 and I left a $100 bill, the grumpy old waiter looked at the bill and asked if I wanted change. Two out of the three visits the waiters/waitresses did the same thing and I overheard the same treatment of other customers. Real classy trying to shame customers into leaving a bigger tip. Just leave the change and I will leave an appropriate tip. Every single item on the menu that we tried was very tasty and we would not hesitate ordering again.

Somehow I've lived in New England my whole life but have never been to Legal Seafoods until today. I saw that they were participating in Restaurant Weeks and figured, why not? I've always heard wonderful things, so I went in with pretty high expectations. I have to say that the service here was exceptional. The lunch crew all worked together to get everything served in a timely manner, and to make sure that everyone had what they needed. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and even the manager was present and out checking on tables. It was a pretty busy lunch seating for a weekday. Our waitress mentioned that their sangrias were really good, so I ordered the Legal sangria which is made with Spanish red wine, rums and berry juice. It was very refreshing and tasty, and served in a large wine goblet with plenty of ice. For appetizers we got clamcakes and chowder, which were both exceptional. The clamcakes were probably some of the best I've tasted; they were really fluffy inside and had lots of clams. They were accompanied by a spicy dipping sauce, but they were so good that they hardly needed it. The sauce was tasty though, so I kept dipping a bit here and there. The white chowder was very creamy, flavorful, and packed with clams and potatoes. Be careful though.... the clamcakes and chowder can be SUPER filling! For entrees we ordered mussels fra diavolo and the grilled salmon. The salmon was definitely overcooked and under-seasoned. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't very salmon-y or juicy, as if they cooked out a lot of the flavor. The orzo salad that it was served over was okay, but nothing special. The mussels on the fra diavolo were tasty and very fresh, but the red sauce wasn't really that great. It was definitely acceptable, but there wasn't much kick or flavor. It was kind of like crushed tomato with some basic seasonings. I was a bit disappointed because those tasty little muscles deserved much better. The dessert that came with the three-course lunch was their bread pudding, and I really wasn't impressed by it at all. It was cold, dense and had pretty much no taste to it. Maybe they put it on the lunch special to get rid of leftovers or something? Blah. One thing I really enjoyed about this place is the airport crowd.... it's excellent for people watching. You get to see strange people eating New England seafood for the first time. I watched a lady adjacent to me get served an order of clamcakes, and she literally had no idea what to do with them. I watched her cut them open, and then eat the dough and clams on the inside. It took all I had in me to not stare and LOL. If somebody asked me to eat here with them, I'd be down. But I don't think I'd make a special trip.

Due to renovations in our home, my husband and I, were staying at the Radisson next to Legal. We decided to go one of our first nights and boy were we glad we did. First, if you like steamers, you HAVE to get them here. They were the BEST steamers I have ever had and I've been eating them since I was a kid all around the world. We also had the clam cakes (Yum!), the clams casino (Perfect!), the clam chowder (Amazing!), and a bunch of other delicious items now to many to name since we have been back 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Last but not least, I have to give a BIG HIGH FIVE to the staff and management team. They have been top notch. I want to thank the GM Mary Beth and Jessica the Mixologist for saving the day on Thanksgiving! Thank you!! I know we have a lot of great seafood restaurants in our big little state but this one is one of the best. Give it a try... you have NOTHING to lose. You will be tummy happy. See you soon Legal!

Must say I was not sure about this place as some of the reviews were terrible, but we had a great time. We sat outside, had the clam cakes as a starter with the red chowder very good, I had the crab cake burger with fries which was good, my wife ordered the surf and turf, the lobster was very good but the steak was one of the best I have ever tried, I was mad that I didn't order it, but the wife let me have some. Our waitress was great I don't remember her name but she was a lot of fun, I def recommend this place

I really do like this place. Every thing except their drinks taste great. Now, today the Rhode Island calamari was greasy and the black beans on top of the rice is gray. That can't be good. However, the fish tacos don't need rice or black beans. They serve these mushrooms that are covered with thyme and sage and garlic. ..very good. As far as the cocktails they are way over priced and not very good. But who would comes here to drink...eat and be merry.

We were getting family together to celebrate our nephew's return to 'civilian' life after serving in the army. We drove from NY, NH and MA to meet up at Legal Seafood in Warwick - and we were not disappointed! They reserved a great table for our group of 12 - and we aren't always an easy group. ;) Our waitress, Jenna, was wonderful and took fantastic care of us! Starting with some amazing cocktails and then on to a mix of delicious appetizers. We had a few special requests that they happily accommodated. For example, being from New England a couple of us love a good Lobster Pie. They don't have that on their menu, but the chef changed their Seafood Casserole to a Lobster Casserole for us - and it was unreal! There were Crab Cakes, Swordfish Piccata, Seafood Fra' Diavolo and I believe Baked Stuffed Shrimp. I'm pretty sure every plate was clean by the time we were finished. It was all fantastic! Finally, we forgot to call ahead and request a cake for our nephew. We called about an hour or two before we were going and they said that unfortunately they needed 24 hours notice. When we arrived we were told that they went out to a store a purchased a cake for us! Talk about going above and beyond. Then Jenna called in the troops to cut up the cake and serve us. They were on top of everything from start to finish. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves seafood, a nice cocktail and fantastic service! Can't wait to go back!

Went for dinner on my first night in the area for business. I was able to get my reservation done through open table quickly and easily as I arrived in the parking lot. The host greeted me when I arrived and was quick to seat me, giving me the choice of a full size or half booth, or table if I wanted. I ordered the lobster bisque to get started, and since I was t that hungry, I ordered the appetizer portion of crab cake. While waiting for my meal, the host came over with bruschetta as a thank you for being an open table VIP. This was definitely a nice touch. The waitress also was attentive throughout the night, so the service was definitely above average for me. The lobster bisque was acceptable, but not as good as the bisque I have had in other seafood chain restaurants. It seemed a bit bland to me and for this, they lose a star. The crab cake however was something that I thoroughly enjoyed. I could have done without the type of greens they served with it (but loved the dressing). My total, including an iced tea and tip for everything was $20.

I've been to Legal's in Boston and Warwick. I've never been disappointed. The fish is always the freshest. It is on the pricey side, but in my opinion, you get what you pay for. I would like to correct a misconception that I've seen repeatedly on Yelp. Legal Sea Foods IS NOT A CHAIN. This restaurant is not in the same category as a place like RED LOBSTER....not by a long stretch. If you want the freshest fish in a family owned restaurant, go to Legal's. prnewswire.com/news-rele…

for more than a decade my wife an I had been enjoying the surf and turf at Legal but on our last visit two weeks ago we discovered the menu had been changed. The stake offering is no longer filet mignon its a cheap cut and it was awful. They also tweaked my baked stuff shrimp to be like a casserole. I really think they are trying to go out of business but I know one thing for sure this long time date night tradition with my wife is over. I do recommend the Lobster Pot in Bristol RI if you want a surf and turf with filet mignon we went today and it was amazing but that's a story for another review.

Our last experience at Legal (North Shore Mall in Mass.) was a disappointment and not what we've come to expect from them. The food was marginal and the service was lacking. Their menu is getting very tired and in desperate need of an overhaul. I think the food is better at their test kitchens from what I've experienced. I used to love this chain, but I don't suspect I will be returning. They really need to shake things up a bit!

I recently visited the Legal Seafood of Warwick during a business trip to Rhode Island. I will be the first person to say I knew nothing about Rhode Island cuisine but that didn't stop me from assuming it would not be good considering the state is best known for an imaginary family guy town and I think the glory hole was invented there in 1804. I knew Legal Seafood was a chain restaurant but my understanding was that it was a premium seafood chain (not like a red lobster). However, when we pulled into the parking lot and saw the restaurant which looks like the Skipper from Gilligans island designed it an angel lost its wings. The hosts were nice but waitress was strange. She would just appear out of nowhere and stand behind you quietly until you noticed her. Have some pizzazz! This is Rhode Island! The menu had way too much stuff on it, I felt like I was combing through a census. The food however was pretty good (relatively speaking). It wasn't great, but pretty good. I had the Tuna and shrimp cocktail. The best part of the meal was the friendly ponytailed manager and the unspoken consensus of everyone in the restaurant that knows Rhode Island sucks but this probably as good as it's going to get, so let's make the best of it and count the minutes to death.

Food and service are awesome but having no wifi is ridiculous in 2014! Unable to conduct business because of this and therefore will not bring clients here again until this is rectified. Legal I love you, but this is stupid.

This is a late review but better late than never. I've been here quite a few times over the years and the food is always great. The white clam chowder here makes me so happy. What makes me happier is that they participate in providence restaurant week. The wood grilled Mahi Mahi is my favorite. It's tender and flavorful and not fattening like fried chicken. I live for when they have it on the menu. Sadly it's not always on the menu. The service here is always on point.

First time going here was in February of this year after always wondering what it was like inside. I had a company retreat at the hotel next door and we went over to Legal Sea Foods for dinner after a long day. I would recommend this place to anybody who loves seafood. Their food is heavy so you will fill full afterwards. The place overall was great. My group was quite loud and I didn't feel like it was bothering anybody there. The service was quick and friendly. I will hopefully someday bring my family there because they are always asking about it and love seafood.

Went here the other night for Restaurant Week. Wasn't too impressed. Menu looked good, prices are top dollar. Had a couple of Legal Sangrias they were delicious! $11 but filled right to the top of a huge wine glass. The New England Clam Chowder was terrible. Bland at best. The seafood casserole was just ok. Wife got a seafood pasta dish. The pasta was undercooked. I like pasta al dente and so does she but this was straight up undercooked. We will never return. WAY over priced and food sucks. Rediculous.

I like Legal Sea Foods. The problem that I have with them is that they have many locations and not all their restaurants have the same menu. This location has a "Rhode Island" Red Clam Chowder, which is more commonly known as "Manhattan" style. And it's one of the best I've ever had. However, I've never seen it at any other location. So whenever I fly out of Providence/TK Green Airport, I make sure to stop at this Legal Sea Foods and get a big bowl of the Clam Chowder. This place is always busy though. However, the service is great and the staff is attentive and friendly.

I am used to legal in Boston area. This legal in Warwick gives the chain a bad name. I get the seafood casserole all the time and in Boston it is not a problem to not get white fish or scallops in it. They wanted to charge me 15 dollars extra for taking out these two things. The portion was smaller than usual. They also forgot the sauce for one of the side dishes. Service was ok.. the waitress seemed odd and confused. The manager had to come out and talk with us. I'll stick to the one in Boston.

How much you like Legal Seafood depends on where you are from. If you from the Midwest, Legal Seafood is going to be great. If you are from Rhode Island, it is like going to Applebee's. Due to their higher price, you can get better and pay to the same price somewhere else.

Came here to meet up with my auntie after a long time. We had a great time that was only made better by great food, great service, and great service. If you're going to be headed to TF Green , I'd recommend this place. Thumbs up.

Eat at an authentic, independent Rhode Island seafood restaurant if you want fresh seafood. Legal Seafood in Rhode Island is on it's last leg. Upon entering the restaurant I observed that the cement leading up to the main entrance is cracked and crumbling, and it looks like it could use a fresh coat of paint. The parking lot has holes and cracks and the major bump upon entering was off-putting. As we entered the restaurant, it smelled like a bar and the women's rest room was as narrow as on a ship and It had an odd odor as well. The hard wood floors in the dining room have seen much better days and need to be re-sanded and varnished. My partner got the fried seafood platter and everything was overdone and the batter had a strange flavor. My tuna was fresh and the cucumber sauce was very tasty, but it was very small. The baby spinach was much too salty and it came with PLAIN boiled rice. . .ew! The prices were inflated for the amount of food that we got. We were on our way home from five days on the Cape and after having the freshest and most delightful seafood during our stay, I have to say that Legal Seafood in the OCEAN State needs to rethink their tired menu and bring their standards up a few notches. We will never return to this restaurant. We consider ourselves seafood aficionados and this was a very disappointing end to our vacation.

Food was very good, but $140 (w/tip) for three people. Hard to swallow... Very friendly service, but definitely only a place for special occasions.

I am going to following the Yelp star system and say this place was (just) A-OK. I write (too?) many 4 and 5 star reviews and this restaurant wasn't bad; it also wasn't good enough to come back. Let me say that I have been a fan of LSF since I first discovered them in Boston twenty years ago. I am glad to see that they have prospered and expanded. This location might have been another restaurant before this (maybe a Denny's?) but it does not have the posh-ness that the other locations I have been to in Boston do. I may be a bit of a Yelp-snob, but let's just say that I wouldn't call this a place to host a business meal. It is more suited to taking your grandparents to for a special occasion... at 4:30pm./ We were greeted and seated by cheery, under-18-year-old hostesses. I wish I could say the same about our server. She was kinda like Haley's comet - we saw her once every 96 years. The food was good. We had a dozen oysters. I liked that they had four choices and two of them were local in RI. I had arctic char from the normal menu - I am actually surprised to see it on the normal menu because I thought it was a very seasonal fish (maybe not for the seafood powerhouse LSF?) I equate this meal to something I would get at Red Lobster - or McDonalds - because the quality was factory-consistent. My fish was measured and cooked. One final note that has since been fixed by Yelp. When I first looked up this restaurant, it was listed as "Legal See Food" - a funny typo, but very Freudian.

On our road trip from New York,we stopped at a hotel across the street. We've noticed the billboard sign legal Seafoods and decided to stop in. We were greeted by a host and seated quickly. Being the only African-American in the restaurant we were treated exceptionally well. Our waiter provided us with a highchair for my son. Gave us our menu and took her time to explain the menu to us. The food was delicious oh my goodness. The crabcakes, shrimp, salmon, mouthwatering food. Everything was delicious. The food was so good that we came back the next day and order takeout. Well done I will return when in the Rhode Island area

They have lobster bisque soup that is very good.......always fresh fish......but this location just is lacking something. .....I think the atmosphere is just ok along with the service.

Husband's crabcake was quite good. Wish I had ordered same. However I ordered a Maryland soft shell crab sandwich was so-so. Therefore this review is iffy. Will have to try again but are not anxious to do so.

Excellent dinner at Warwick Legal Seafood. Have been to the location in Boston so knew what I was in for. Started with the oyster, cherry stone. The raw shells where excellent. Served really Cold ! One dinner was the shad fish. Was excellent. Served with black bean and rice. I had the traditional whole belly fried clams. Reminded me of when i was a kid and my grandmother would take us to Legal Seafood in Boston. Special place !!

Tends to provide better service to suits or business types. The back room, I guess used for large parties or overflow, is very loud and also seems to be off the beaten path for server support.

The New England clam chowder, despite the fact that we're in a state where delicious New England clam chowder can be found in abundance, was of Washington D.C. quality (as a recent returnee from D.C. I'm highly sensitive to how unfortunate that is). The "Rhode Island-style" calamari was worse - soggy and totally unappetizing. The beer was fine, but I left after one because I didn't want to give any more money to this establishment. Try somewhere else.

I've been to Legal Seafoods twice. Had always heard wonderful reviews of the Boston restaurant which has a satellite location in RI near the airport. My late Mom used to love it. Once, after taking the train to RI from Washington, DC (and getting sick on the train - but I digress) - I took my Mom there for dinner one night - years ago. Of course, it could have been that I was a bit under the weather, (but I had totally recovered by dinnertime) -- I was not that impressed with Legal Seafoods. To me it was just - "meh". I figured maybe the Boston location was the place to go to get great seafood at Legal - and my husband and sister-in-law both confirmed that the Boston location was better. ANYWAY, recently a good friend and frequent dining out buddy and I made plans to have lunch - and she suggested Legal. I was hesitant, telling her of my earlier experience - which, granted, was a long time ago. But she said they were now very good. So back to Legal Seafoods I went, and figured I SHOULD order seafood - so I ordered the seafood stew which is one of my favorite dishes at many restaurants. The dish was fine, the sauce (or soup) was tasty, but there really was not a lot of seafood in it. Most of what could have been considered seafood was a smallish piece of cod or scrod (or haddock?) I cannot tell the difference between these fish. There were several clams (or maybe mussels) in the shell and I do not recall any other type of fish in my bowl I will not swear to this, but I seriously don't think there was anything else from the underwater family in that bowl. A nice piece of some sort of good, toasted bread accompanied the fish stew. We had lunch and a drink - I had wine - and no dessert. I was not bowled over by my meal. It was definitely not a bad meal, and definitely a good - or decent meal - but it was not a GREAT meal, which is, of course, what I am always out there looking for. So - I will say this place is just OK (or A-OK, as the three stars signify) Wish I could do better, but I take my Yelping quite seriously, so I can't do any better. It's right across the street from the "Providence" airport, which as we all know, does not even border on Providence - but is smack in the center of good old Warwick. If you are getting off the plane or getting on a plane, and simply need to have a meal because you're starving, then it would be fine to go to Legal Seafoods in Warwick - but for any other reason I would not seek it out. I believe there are too many other good restaurants in the Warwick area, that serve seafood that is just as legal as Legal's, and most likely better as well!!

Very disappointing :( I had the baked stuffed shrimp - bland crackers with (canned) crab - sad dry small shrimp - my friend had the spicy fish & chips - fish seemed old and the batter was just plain odd - what a total waste. Overpriced and a step below average. and the kicker is it smelled musty like an old dinghy restaurant.... will not return - ever!

Service/ waitstaff was great however the food on the other hand was boring and bland. My Swordfish and my wife's lobster was over cooked. Im mean really- how does one jack up a lobster Additionally, chowder would have tasted better out of a can. Utterly disappointed.

Spectacular service, great gluten-free options, and very good seafood - the only downside is that they aren't located in downtown PVD so I can eat there more often! Our waiter was very attentive and friendly, and the manager came by two or three times to check in us - I'm not sure if that's because we ordered off the gluten-free menu, but it was much appreciated. They do gluten-free right at Legal Seafood, with separate preparation and cooking areas and attention to the possibility of cross contamination. Everything we had was delicious!

Great chowder. Had lunch there before I jumped on a plane home. Chowder was great, had the crab cakes. There was no filler in the cake...just huge chunks of crab. Great dining experience...
