a little disappointed. the food was ok not great. The person was very helpful but than the manager was just not happy. i order 2 tacos, burrito, and 2 drinks and it came to 25 bucks. somehow i feel i was over charged. needless to say its better than traditional fast food but not as good as i expected

I've been twice and I am sadly disappointed. Chipotle definitely wins over Cilantro for lack of flavor.

New spot so we had to try it, its a bit pricey and we felt like we got double charged on some stuff. Steak Burrito- Delish but because we didnt order veggies/beans on it just steak/rice it was WAY SMALLER than the guy in front of us...unfair *pout* Crunchy beef tacos- pretty good, love the cilantro but these were also kinda small and even with beans on them i left hungry. Chips & Salsa- Ok not the best the chips were cold and lime flavored so ok but the hot salsa is barely salsa and the mild is good but they're very meager with portions again. DONT EXPECT YELLOW spanish rice its not there...let down! I love brown rice but it doesnt make me think mexican. All in all im not a fat chick but their portions made me feel like one asking for more...boohoo next time ill hit flats in providence. Their still working out the kinks here so use patience and you might like what you get but its not what i was looking for...not bad but not awesome.

A little pricey for Amerixcan food, but the tacos and burrito my wife and I got were stuffed with tasty fillings and more than enough food for a satisfying meal. Plus, we bought the Groupon they offered a few weeks back, so we actually got quite a bit of food for our $10 expenditure, so I don't really have anything to complain about (though I will have to keep prices in mind for future visits). But considering I'm not a Mexican food fan, the fact that I'm planning on future visits speaks well for the place. My soft tacos with steak, rice, lettuce, cilantro, onions, peppers, and corn salsa were fantastic, and I only wish I hadn't eaten all 3 in one go so that I'd have leftovers today. Chips and tomato salsa were a letdown, though... the mild salsa didn't have a very good flavor (maybe the spicy is better?), and they actually forgot my chips, so I had to go back (girl at the counter was suitably apologetic, though, so that's good). Despite a few setbacks, a good meal, and I plan on going back. Quasi-interesting side note: I apparently have the gene that make cilantro taste like soap! Never knew that before... guess I've never eaten it in enough quantity to notice it until last night. SCIENCE!

It's a no-nonsense burrito place, like the big "C" chain, but with a few nicer touches and an identical price point. Cilantro has a few things I don't see at Chipotle, mainly peppers & onions, lime, and cilantro as free toppings. It seems trivial, but those few things added to the fact that Cilantro is a local business, keep me there instead of it's national chain cousin.

Do you ever get so giddy about writing a review from one of your favorite places before you write them? Well when it comes to Cilantro's, I do! (sighs) Cilantro's, Kevin and his team are so ridiculously customer service oriented, I wish I could recruit some of them to work at my job! You guys have delved into my wallet a few times a week over the last few months and you shouldn't feel guilty at all :-P To be a satisfied customer with so many orders a week and never have an issue is the topping on the cake! I've had one minor issue here and won't even go into details about it because it just overshadow all their greatness. Kevin, thank you for being the primary person making my order but also for ensuring that the rest of your wonderful team know of my dietary restrictions and for continuously making me want to come back. I have to say, I'm a little shocked at the negative reviews but I'm sure it was all the starting kinks of the new place. Again, thank you Cilantro's of Warwick for exemplifying not only what the standard should be in great customer service but for always having a genuine smile when a customer arrives; it makes a big difference in someones day!

Ordered delivery from them today, and I really appreciated their service. The food was delivered and looked so fresh! Moreover, they were a tad late when delivering, but the delivery man was so apologetic. I really wish I could thank him again for being so nice! I would recommend going to this Cilantro, for sure.

Meh. This place is a fake Chipotle.... It was my first time here so I got the 4 taco meal so I could try different types. The ground beef and tilapia were pretty gross. The pulled pork was almost tasteless, though not terrible. But the curry chicken was actually pretty good. They make a holy mess with the lettuce, cheese, etc. There was more in my basket than in my tacos! And this place has the biggest burritos ive ever seen! I saw them making a few of them as I waited for my food, so I don't know how they taste, but from my current experience I can't say they'd be very good... If i ever come back, i'm only getting the chicken curry tacos. But I think i'll just drive a bit further to find a Chipotle.......

Great burrito and burrito bowl. I was impressed with the variety of toppings. Glad to see refried beans on the menu as well as buffalo chicken and tilapia. So many more options than the C chain across the street which made for a tastier meal.

This place is so unassuming - it's a former fast food restaurant, complete with the old drive through for pick up orders. The place itself is small with counter service. The food is terrific. Everything is super fresh. All of the bean options are vegetarian. There are not a ton of menu offerings but your food is put together in front of you, allowing for complete customization to get you exactly what you want. The guacamole is so fresh and delicious. The queso should not be missed - creamy with a slight spice. They even make their own chips. They even offer margaritas and beer! Great little find!!

It's always embarrassing ordering a burrito at the counter for someone else when they texted you all the ingredients you want, but the woman who helped me was really funny and nice (also, didn't make me feel like I was annoying!). My burrito was so heavy, bringing them to the car was like lifting weights! No complaints here, perfectly portioned in every way

So worth a visit! Think of Chipotle on steriods. I had a quesadilla. How about an inch+ thick? They custom craft everything to your wishes. Don't pass this one up for some seriously good, fast Mexican food.

Cute chain just starting out. The staff was extremely nice and professional. The salsas, toppings, and guacamole are all fresh! The tacos hit the spot!

I want to rate this place a 2 star but will give it 3 because the service has always been decent. Idk, I find it bland and sometimes over cooked. I've never had anything I would consider bad but nothing stands out. I tend to stick to the other two competitors of this place.

Straight up: I like this place better than Chipotle. It serves up the same type of food with less and more. Less pretentious, less hype, less price and more topping and meat choices (especially for a mostly pesce-vegetarian like me). I used to drop by more often before they changed the fish choice from tilapia to a "fresh Atlantic catch of the day". This did not please me because I now have to pay extra for something like pollock. Eww. Why fix things that aren't broken? Anyhoo, still a good spot for a healthy, fresh and flavorful fastfood Mexican meal, overall. I like that they deliver!

I ordered a quesadilla the other night from Cilantro and it was delicious. I thought it was better than Chipotle. The store & burrito building area were spotless. The fact that I'm still thinking about it says something.

Came here for the first time and had a hair in my food brought it back up to get a refund they marked as wrong item... Chipotle is my life.

Nice, fresh food! Everything is 100% customized. This is the only Cilantro we have been to, but it has a level of customer service rarely seen in "on the go" type places. (I struggle to classify this as fast food because although it is fast, I don't want it getting lumped in with places like Taco Bell or McDonald's). Rosa, one of the employees in particular, is the sweetest thing and her professionalism and care for her work and customers is going to get her big promotions someday (or tj should!!) In whichever field of work she finds herself - food service, corporate, education, who knows, a manager would be lucky to have her.

Sometimes are better than others today was an excellent time! My bowl was made really good and had tons of stuff in it. Like way more than usual. The girls were friendly kinda rushed us along but overall not that bad. Soda was flat like all of them kinda disappointing.

Every Tuesday, after working out with our trainer, my husband and I have added Cilantro to our standing date. I have truly fallen in love with this place now that I know how to order. If I'm packing lunch the next day we order two burrito bowls, but one is sufficient for sharing (and then some). I stuff the bowl with brown rice, black and pinto beans, pico de gallo, corn salsa, jalapenos, a mix of buffalo chicken and pulled pork...and then pile with cheese, lettuce, salsa, sour cream, and guacamole (+ $.75). We like to add a large chip, which they make fresh on the premise and are perfectly salted and limed. Yum. Make sure you get a burrito card (10th visit is free) and keep your eyes peeled for the going specials - there are so many, it's overwhelming. And if you're feeling lazy and live in Cranston, they deliver. See you next Tuesday.

Below average. Chicken was tasteless.. rice was overcooked.. since I live 1800 miles away, I won't be back.

I ordered take-out, got there early, I noticed right away how cold my bag seemed. I pulled over, my taco's were freezing. There was barely any beef. I would have ordered a salad in a taco shell if I wanted one. Won't go back. Not worth the money or the traffic risk.

I was so happy when Cilantro moved in on Post Road! In comparison to Chipotle, I like having the choice of a flavored tortilla shell and that they offer bbq meats (as opposed to spicy everything). They aren't stingy with the guacamole or anything you put in the burrito, really. And the employees are super friendly! Bonus (and ironic): no everlasting cilantro breath for the rest of the day! Great establishment, keep up the good work!

I was so impressed with this bright, airy, new Cilantro location, and I give the employees five Yelpy stars for their smiles, friendliness and service. This location is really convenient for those coming out of the airport looking for a quick Mexican fix.

Think independant Chipolte restaurant with a few more selections. Not much more to say. Staff was friendly and patient. Most booth seats were badly worn. Choose a table seat.

We love, love, LOVE Cilantro. We could eat there every day and know that there are healthy options! Saturdays are Kids Eat Free - we go every Saturday and the kids love their tacos or quesadillas. The staff are friendly and engaging as well as patient with little ones saying what they want in their tacos. Get the app on your phone and make paying and rewards fun!

Not bad, not bad at all. I got 3 soft shell tacos with seasoned beef and a decent amount of toppings. Beef was a little on the dry side and looked as if it had been out for a while, but not gross to the point i couldn't eat it. The guacamole was pretty good and had lots of flavor, and for an extra charge they weren't to skimpy with the serving. Prices were fair and servings were adequate. I would give it another whirl.

  • Colleen M.

The pros: It's local which is why we chose it over Chipotle across the street. The food tasted fresh and portions are generous. The joint was clean. The service was good. Cons: The plain grilled chicken in the kids tacos was so spicy they couldn't eat it. It was a little pricey for fast food.

I tend to prefer independent or small-franchise "make your own burrito" places over the bigger chains. That's one reason I like Cilantro. The other reasons are I liked the service and the burrito I ordered. Right away it felt like I was talking to a person instead of an employee who had to go through a "greeting and ordering routine." I liked the variety of tortillas from which I could choose, and the burrito options. I've seen more interesting - and spicier - options at other places, but what they offered here was fine. Kudos to them for offering brown rice as an option. I agree with some others that adding guacamole was slightly over priced (but it's free for a veggie burrito), but that's typically something for which I'm willing to pay - avocado's ain't cheap. And for me, cilantro makes anything better and tastier. It's too bad there were few options beyond conventional fountain beverages and bottled water. I guess I've been spoiled by places which are able to offer Mexican-style soft drinks which use sugar instead of corn syrup. But hey, this beats a burger and fries any day!

Thank heaven for a Mexicanesque place in Warwick that isn't foul Chipotle. This isn't the best of Mexican places, making a heavily Americanised, pricey variant on the taco and burrito. (They charge extra for a tiny scoop of guacamole, too, not really appreciated.) The meats are good, fresh and hot, and the curry chicken is an unusual (and tasty) option. The lettuce, tomatoes, and corn salsa were all fresh. The salsa's not what I'd call spicy, though, which is a bummer. All told, average, except for the slightly exorbitant pricing.

In most Mexican restaurants when the menu says 'steak' it means 'carne asada.' Which is steak. What is referred to as steak here is some kind of beef stew. In neither Spanish nor English is beef stew considered 'steak.' This stew they served was like a mystery meat which I believe to be beef in a gravy. It is not something that Mexicans would ever willingly put on a taco. EVER. Not in Mexico. Not in the United States. There are delicious kinds of stew in Mexico even if they don't ever put stew on tacos. This was not delicious but it seemed edible so I decided to eat it anyway. Shortly after eating this concoction, I became somewhat queasy. But I went home and hoped for the best. I woke up in the middle of the night and was vomiting for hours. I had nothing else to eat so I am entirely sure that it was the food at this place. I can't remember the last time I have vomited with food poisoning like that. That was it though. It was a mild case, luckily. Another very weird part of the meal is that what they call 'cheese' is some kind of homemade cheese sauce that's quite terrible. It is like a cheese gravy. But a horribly made cheese gravy where one cannot taste the cheese. I had some concerns about the cleanliness of the place. There were odd things floating in the sour cream--possibly a lime. Food was sort of sloppily dripping on various places. If you've ever eaten anything resembling the Mexican food they serve in Mexico, I'd say stay away. If you prefer to avoid food poisoning, I would also recommend against this place.

Everything tasted fresh and delicious the first time I went! Since then I've noticed the past 2 times that the chicken has been very dry and unappetizing. Not bad, Could be better

Fresh food, lots of variety, good price. They have whole wheat, spinach and tomato tortillas! I'm a fan of guacamole and there's is pretty good, not as spicy as Chipotle. I wish they had more than just a one size fountain beverage. I also wish they could find a way to get use the take out window. You can order online which is a nice feature.

Extremely friendly and patient. The food was ok reminded me of chipotle but with fresher cilantro and lots of limes. Not my top Mexican place but not the worst.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
