My wife and I were craving Mexican food so we went to Nacho Mommas in Bristol. But when we walked up to the door they had a sign posted saying they are on vacation and will re-open on July 8. So now we're stuck with this craving for Mexican food. So I use my Yelp app to try and find a decent alternative before we head to the movies. So after reading through some restaurant reviews, this place looked like a safe bet so we figured what the heck. When we walked in, the booths reminded me of the NY System in Cranston if you've familiar with that place. They also have 2 long counter tops you can sit at and eat as well. So when you go in, you tell the person behind the counter what you want. They make it right on front of you as you tell them what you want on your meal. I ordered the ground beef burrito and my wife had the steak burrito. I have to say, they really pack in these burritos. You definitely get your money's worth. My burrito was good, no complaints. I tried my wife's steak burrito and that was really good. Not too spicy but just enough and the steak was nice and tender. They do serve alcohol as well. They have a menu hanging up behind the bar for margaritas, beer and so forth. They also have this option called "Buckets of Beer" where you can mix 'n match different beers. You have two options 4 for $10 or 6 for $15. I gave this restaurant a 3 star rating because well, it is what it is. The service was friendly. The atmosphere is very, very casual. I would say IMO the food is good..not great or mind blowing or anything like that. I would say average food with good service. I do like that fact that all the ingredients they put on your meal is all fresh and right in front of you. Would I make it a point to go back? Probably not. But if I'm in the area and craving Mexican I'd probably go there. If you're nearby and thinking about Mexican food, I would say this is a good option for you. You probably won't leave saying to yourself "man that was the best burrito I've ever had" but you won't leave regretting going there either.

I stumbled upon Cilantro's driving past it during lunch time a few weekends ago. This place is excellent. Set up kind of like the chain restaurants, Chipotle or Qdoba, they build burritos in front of you from fresh ingredients and you can either dine in or take your meal to go. Very fresh ingredients, I had the chicken burrito served on a spinach tortilla with cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, fresh guacamole, cilantro and white rice and a little lime. My boyfriend opted for the quesadillas and he enjoyed his as well. The restaurant has a trendy atmosphere. High top tables around the windows, a marble top bar and booths along the wall. I would suggest this to anyone with a craving for a some scrumptious Mexican food.

Cilantro is my pick for good, basic "LA style" burritos. Vegetarian burrito and vegetarian belly are quite generous and well made. I've been a regular here for take-out since they opened. We get one burrito and one "belly" (burrito without the tortilla) for $12.

It's about time Rumford gets some great food! Newport Ave is littered the fast food chains, but this place throws some spice in the mix! Pun intended. Their burritos are HUGE! I usually speand about $10 everytime I go but I LOVE their food so I hv no problem paying that. My dad has had the tilapia tacos and didn't care for them. I LOVE their curry chicken. Hoping this place lasts.

Yep i like this place..I always get the pulled pork burrito. Kinda sucks that you have to pay extra for guacamole (its really good). Their nacho chips are also very good. The staff is always nice..And i believe they have margaritas and other alcoholic drinks which is a bonus after a long day at work. The only thing i dont like is the location its right at the Pawt ave and newport ave split so if some jacka$$ is speeding behind you and you want to make that sudden right into the place..you risk getting rear ended. its also easy to drive past the place..but once your over that the food is great :)

The service has really gone downhill, which is sad. I enjoy the fresh food, and was very enthusiastic when this place first opened. My last visit was disappointing, as the relatively young staff seemed more concerned with passive-aggressively trying to out-wait each other to see who would handle the growing line of customers. Tonight (Sunday), I drove up at 8:20pm, to see the Cilantro sign turned off, despite the lit "Open" sign. The staff had the chairs up on the tables already, and gazed at me through the windows as they mopped up. Guess they had Memorial Day parties to get to. I'll miss this restaurant when it fails.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
