You know how you have those days where you start speaking with a southern accent and want a 16 piece fried chicken from Popeye's? Yah, me too! Except minus the southern accent.... whenever I manage to do accents it ends up like I am learning English for the first time. I don't know what it is about Popeye's chicken but it's always in the back of my mind. I have not had it for the past 4 years or so and I couldn't help myself but purchase a large "bucket" of chicken. Of course, this is large for normal people but for me this was 2 meals. ONLY 2! The chicken was crispy and perfectly spicy without being overly so. So what if I had a little upset stomach? My tongue was having a party! Oh, they use foodler so you don't even have to turn on your car to get it!

Red beans and rice is awesome. Get the large size. The regular size isn't big enough. This location is at the Providence Place mall, in the food court.

It took a year but I made it back for their three piece chicken dinner, and it didn't disappoint! Juicy fried chicken, a biscuit, cole slaw, and mashed potatoes...yum yum yum. Once a year is probably my max, but seeing that 2015 is right around the corner that means I could go back next week and it would be in a different year. Score!

As food court restaurants go, this Popeye's is pretty darned good. The 5-piece tenders combo is consistently fresh, delicious and ample. The coke slaw and red beans are excellent too if you have room. It's a good court, but you could do worse!

Poor attempt of making chicken and fries are just about passable, biscuit however was nicely done. Oh and the bottle water was good too.

It's greasy, old fashion southern fried, consumer driven fast food chicken but miles and miles and miles above Kentucky Fried which is simply and absolutely disgusting chicken if not food alltogether. I love some Popeyes and beans and rice (tho mushy) when I'm hung over or crazying my heart clogging greasy piece. So don't hold out people, treat yourself and get your Popeyes on...as well as a really big towel to soak up that lovely grease!

I don't know how many times i've found my way over here right at closing to grab a box of deep fried, greasy popeyes chicken. But i've never been sorry about it, whether on the toilet or wondering why my pants don't fit. The biscuits are fluffy little clouds from heaven, and the chicken is an explosion of flavor.

I'm a Popeye's fan. Los Angeles, New Orleans, airports, New York, etc. This location happens to be the BEST Popeye's I know--and consistent! The turnover seems to be pretty high so every piece I've received has been piping hot, even at 9pm. The crust crackles so delicately but is thickly coated. I've turned all of my visitors to be big fans of this location. Go. Now.

Popeye's makes the best fried chicken. The "Cajun Style" is my favorite, a little spicy and extremely tasty. Sure it's horrible for ya, but you don't eat fried chicken when you want health food. Also, I love their fries, probably the best fast food fries out there. Overall, the food is great, I never spend that long waIting for it, and it is cheaper (as well as tastier) than the "other chicken chain" I'm glad there are no Popeye's in Attleboro, because if I lived any closer, I know I would eat it all the time.

Point the way!! I love Popeye's but there are none close to where I live. I did not know there was one in the Providence area until I found this review. Love their chicken and biscuits. They used to have this spicy rice. Hope they still have it.

Finger lickin' forget it! If you're looking for fried chicken the Colonel has nothing on Popeyes. If given a choice I will hit the Popeyes every time. In fact, I'm known for dirving the 30 additional minutes to get to a Popeyes despite having a KFC within 10 minutes of the house. This location turned out to be a surprise. In the mall for an IMAX Movie (Gravity 3D, go see it!) and we had time before the show started. In order to save a small portion of the national debt by not purchasing snacks and candy at the theater (we did anyone, epic fail), we grabbed some food court lunch. Once I saw the Popeyes, even the better half just gave me a little push and said "go, there's no way I'm talking you out of it". One thing I'm always disappointed in when having food court meals is even the well known national chains seem to suffer in quality and service when shoved into a mall. Not so this time! The staff here were great and the food was exactly the same quality as I get from the stand alone Popeyes I usually visit. Both big wins in my opinions. Food court staff often isn't the best of most helpful, but these ladies made a point of telling me that I could save almost a dollar by ordering a value meal and getting a larger beverage in the process. Usually the upsell is to get more money out of you, not save you a buck. Big win! Maybe the owner might not like it, but that's the kind of service that keeps customers coming back and spending money with you instead of the other 20 places right next door. So the next time you're at Provedence Place and attacked with a terrible case of the munchies head on over and grab some Chicken and Biscuits. Whether it's spicy or mild you'll love the chicken's deep southern fried crunch (you can battle with your cardiologist later) and the flaky wonderful biscuits are as far above the KFC dense paste biscuits as you can get. Sides are all winners, pick on that sounds interesting and have at it. Keeping in mind of course that this is a Louisiana style place so heat and peppers are going to play a role in most of them.

Popeye's - the highs are high, but the lows are so low. Service and health-wise, one star. Guilty pleasure taste-fest, five stars. Anyway, maybe three or four times a year, I treat myself to Popeye's, or subject myself to it, depending on the perspective. Staff - oh boy. Wait times - usually interminable from my experience. Caloric intake - generally gluttonous. But the food - bad for me and all, I'm pretty crazy about it. The shrimp (po'boy) sandwich is a resounding winner - a reasonable fast-food facsimile of the excellent (true) southern dish. The biscuits are temptingly flaky and fluffy inside. The Cajun fries keep me reaching for them. The chicken nuggets are maybe a 3 out of 10 for spiciness, which makes them borderline kid-friendly. The sweet tea practically picks out select teeth and starts creating cavities immediately. So it's a love-hate thing for me here. As a treat? Man alive, it's a treat - sometimes it's just a real trial in patience getting to the payoff from the time you set foot in line.

Popeye's is good in general but this food court has sticky tables. They're greasier than the chicken. Four piece meal with tax is $9.17.

So I ate there today. Somehow, I only enjoy Popeye's where I see a lot of chicken. So I ordered the #8 Catfish. GOOD CALL BY KENT. Fresh fried. I ordered red beans and rice as my side PLUS a mac and cheese. The guy accidentally gave me fries...but when I mentioned the red beans & rice, he had no problem giving me 3 sides total *mwahahaha*. The fish was piping hot, same for the fries...the mac and cheese was passable, the red beans and rice was okay, not up to normal Popeye's standards. BUT THE BISCUIT was classic Popeye's. If I ever eat Popeye's in Providence, RI again...it'll be there.
