We decided to try LaNuova after reading the earlier yelp reviews. We agree that it is inappropriate to call the caller "Honey" and "Sweetie" on the phone and the lady who answers talks awfully fast. Getting past that the promised delivery time was "half an hour, maybe 40 minutes." and at 35 minutes the driver was at our door. Small 'roni pie and a Buffalo calzone came to about 17 bucks. Our immediate reaction upon opening our first delivery was to look at each other and say, "Wow, nice pizza!" A beautifully browned and crispy edge and crust of about an inch thick around a thinner, well cooked but not burnt pie. The tongue was not betrayed by the eyes in that the pizza was nicely balanced between meat and cheese, thoroughly cooked but not overcooked, not greasy and held together well, retaining its sauce when held and bitten. Excellent flavor throughout. The Buffalo chicken calzone was a full 180 degrees of a circle (not a wedge like some.) It was also hot on arrival and generously stuffed with chicken meat and cheese with plenty of Buff' sauce but not outrageously spicy to where you can't eat it. LaNuova included a plastic ramekin of Bleu Cheese of good quality, with some chunks of actual cheese in it. We have since picked up a large 'roni and will ask for a little extra time in the oven for any future large pies as the extra size needs a few more minute to be cooked to the same degree, and our personal liking. It is true that the ambiance at La Nuova is not Capriccio... but I don't think anyone really goes to a pizza place for the ambiance. Most people get delivery anyway and on that note it would be a good idea to adjust the phone verbiage, but overall LaNuova is our new favorite, go-to pizza place. Well, not really "go-to" since we generally get delivery! Try LaNuova, we do not think you'll be disappointed.

Not too bad. They do focus more on delivery. The interior is a great little traditional pizza joint, but they tend to ignore it. So it was cold (no heat), the TV was turned off and there were no place settings. The food was pretty good. Nothing great to make them stand out but not bad. The pizza crust was of the thicker sort, but crispy. The sauce was good, but did not seem to soak into or grip the crust. This matters why? Well, when you went to bite into the pizza, everything slid right off. So it really became a knife and fork ordeal.

We ordered a pizza for delivery and it was excellent! When it got here, it was still nice and hot. The best part is, it wasn't greasy like most pizzas. We would definitely order from here again. It seems they have a large and varied menu and I will be trying some other things as well. Very pleased!

The food has always been good here, but the girl answering phones/behind the counter needs a serious attitude adjustment.

Wow ! Gave this place a try last night and the new owner Romney delivered. I was made to feel welcome when I walked in. Order the Fish n Chips and the kids got a bacon pizza. The fish was fresh and the pizza was crispy. What a turn around with the new ownership! Keep up the good work

I stopped into La Nuova Pizzeria while I was waiting for my car windshield to be replaced. I had just gotten out of work and I needed a little over an hour to kill, so after I had a manicure at Castle Nails, next door to La Nuova, I stopped into the pizzeria for a quite bite to eat. It's a fairly small restaurant; there are several booths and tables for patrons who choose to dine in. You can order pizza by the slice, which I opted for; a slice of cheese pizza. It was... ok. Not the best pizza I've ever had, certainly not the worst. I grabbed a menu to take home with me to add to my collection. They offer the typical pizzeria menu options; pizzas, subs, salads as well as some dessert options. Overall, I wasn't impressed with La Nuova, but it did the job of filling up my hungry belly. There are many other great pizza places out there I would choose over this spot.

Doesn't even deserve one star. Took an hour and a half to deliver a simple cheese pizza, calzone, and an appetizer three miles from them to my house. The person on the phone offered no apology (after telling me 20 minutes) and was unprofessional, calling me "honey." The food was cold and tasteless. I will not be back.

If I could put 0 stars I would. Waited over 1 1/2 hours for delivery, called twice and they finally tell me they delivered our order to the wrong house and they were calling the other people. I don't want pizza that was delivered to someone else I'm not even sure why they would try and call the other people what does that have to do with anything at this point! I don't want what they ordered in place either and no apology! No I don't want you to remake it and wait another 1 1/2 for it to get here - we have kids that need to eat. So much for trying somewhere new on pizza Friday. How is the pizza? We don't know! Horrible customer service - NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Not too bad overall. They have awesome Calzones. The service was good and atmosphere was just OK. They have been around for as long as I can remember so the decor is a bit old but the food is their main focus.

We order from La Nuova frequently! Everything, and I mean everything, is fresh and delicious! From the pizza to the sandwiches to the salads, we have never been disappointed. Try it and Enjoy!

We moved to Johnston a while back and have been wanting to try this place. Unfortunately, it seemed like they were never open when we called to place an order. Well, good news, they now have extended hours! We've only ordered there once, but were happy with the results. The pizza was delicious, great flavor and thick crust. The fries were cooked just right and the salad was packed with a number of veggies (which I'm a huge fan of!) We will be ordering there again. Prices were reasonable, as well.

I've come here numerous times, almost always for take-out. Sometimes for a slice or a calzone for the road after getting breakfast at next-door Home Fries. Love the bbq chicken pizza, on the first day. The reheat value lacks, but that's why normal people don't eat pizza for breakfast. Orders have ranged from meals to pizza to calzone to catering orders. A novice in party orders but would consider their loaf calzone a great value, without other places of similar portions and pricing to compare to. My only calzone order was $11 and was enough to feed 4 people, 3 individual calzones in it. While I think their regular menu calzones (not the specialty order or custom) could be a bit bigger, it's always enough for a meal. My two best compliments I could give are that the service is always right on time, and their prices are good for the portions you get. The 4* is based on seldom checking my order before taking it home and realizing that they got it right. Every time. Never had a problem with it being under-cooked or buyer's remorse later on. Oh, and if you happen to sneak in you might be eavesdropping on some hilarious commentary in the kitchen.

I waited half an hour for a sandwich that had absolutely no flavor. Dingy tables and chairs. Awful service. The girl behind the counter had no personality and she was pretty rude.

I've ordered pizza here a few times. It was overall very good and I was actually planning on ordering pizzas for my daughters' birthday party. However, last week I had a salad delivered to my work. The salad was topped with marinated mushrooms which I took off. Half way thru eating I noticed a large ( size of a half dollar) clump of brown hair in with the mushrooms. It was disgusting and made me sick to my stomach. Called to let them know and was told by the girl who answered that I would receive a call back from the manager. Never got a sorry or a returned call. Will never order from here again.

I think I just had frozen meatballs in my grinder?! How appalling for an Italian restaurant to serve meatballs that are not homemade?!!

My thoughts on La Nuova are this - Average pizza place. Thick crust type pizza, extra cheesy, pretty good, but nothing too special. Prices were a bit on the high side. Friendly staff. Good for take-out. There are a ton of other similar pizza places out there, so I'm not dure if I would come back here or not.
