It is located by the port and the staff are very friendly. I do love me some Honey Dew. The only issue I had this trip is... Christmas is the season for Peppermint. Rhode Island is the place for Coffee. So not peppermint coffee is a downer. I had to movie on to a competitor.

My rating says it all. Meh. I've experienced better. I tried the iced pumpkin spice coffee. Nothing to write home about. Highly disappointing. I am normally a huge fan of the 'Dew.

I was only in Providence because my sister somehow got it confused with Newport. For the record, it's different. Anyway, we apparently went to Johnson and Wales and their culinary museum, but my only food-related memory of that huge, embarrassing failure of a trip was Honey Dew's St. Patrick's raised donut. Chocolate frosting and hella green and white jimmies. And the donut itself was big, soft and awesome, even at 3:00 in the afternoon. They don't make 'em like that anymore. And by "anymore" I mean "at Dunks." The same can't be said for the glazed chocolate cake, which was even worse than the abhorrent Market Basket version I'm plowing through as I write this review. I didn't even finish it. Oh well, chains don't make good cake donuts anyway. It's a fundamental fact of life. Speaking of chains, Greater Providence is where legendary donut empires go to die. The mere fact that Honey Dew is holding on where Krispy Kreme and Tim Hortons have tried and failed is a testament to the fact that, at the very least, they're not Dunkies. Fun fact: As of today, fully 50 percent of the reviews of this particular Providence donut shop have been left by yelpers from good ol' Somerville, Mass. This probably says something about Somerville. Or donuts. Or sample sizes.

Located right off the highway. Long line in the drive-thru but no customers inside. Yay! Had their Egg and Cheese a Wrap for only 99 cents and a small coffee which was actually good! They say it's local. Never asked them though where they source them from. Anyway, they also offer Willow Tree Farm chicken walnut salad sandwiches. They also have exciting holiday flavor drinks like Apple Cider, Vanilla Chai, and Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate. I will go back and try them coz they sound so good!

Ok, Honey Dew, you can't have one person working who is responsible for both the drive-thru and the inside counter, I don't care if it's 5 PM. The only reason the girl eventually came over to help us was because I loudly said "what the heck" and leaned over the counter. She apologized and came over to take our order. We ordered 4 donuts and she kept putting the wrong ones in the bag, so we kept having to correct her. I'm guessing this was because someone was in the drive-thru so she could hear them through the headset and it was confusing her. Two staff members should always be on, no matter what. Also, no bathroom so not a good place for pit stops.

Stopped in to get a quick bite a few days ago. Wanted to use the restroom to wash my hands. I asked the cashier behind the counter ( that looked liked she hated her job) where is the rest room? She replies no restroom. I reply cancel my order! Honey Dew MGT if you are reading this, you should probably re- think your policy!

Sitting in the honey dew parking lot 1 hour before they close but the doors are locked and no one is inside, today is not a holiday but it is the first day of summer....perhaps the person working got the 70 degree weather bug from Dr. Summeroff??...and had to shut the place down? Fuck you I'm hungry. I shouldn't really care though because eveytime I come here the food totally taste like shit.

SLOW service. Location: Allens Ave. PVD. I enjoy the food, but the service is very slow. On the early weekday mornings, there are only 2 employees on duty. Their job is to service the drive up, the counter, and receive supplies. You can easily wait 5 minutes for your order. If you see a delivery truck in the back, go elsewhere. There is no door chime, so you can walk into the store and not see anyone. You may have to stand there a few minutes before they "discover" that you are there. The walkup counter always is serviced after the drive through. This is not the place to go if you are hoping to get in and out quickly. The regular two employees are trying, but if one of the regular's is off, the replacement moves as if she really could not care how long it takes to get you your order. Honey Dew cannot justify a third employee because there are not enough customers. The public can justify not going there because the service is so slow. The fault is 100% the owners. They have allowed what could be a great alternative to rise to the level of mediocre, at best. This is a classic example of absentee management.

Last month I bought an strawberry ice tea and a red bull strawberry drink and it was late at night so by the time I got home to find they didn't put a flavor shot in my ice tea it was too late to return. The next morning I went for my usual tea and bought one and had also brought my ice tea back from the night before with my own ice cubes requesting a flavor shot so I could drink it. If she couldn't it was fine with me. I figured id ask. I don't like regular ice tea and was hoping it wasn't going to go to waste. The lady at the window said "sure" as she went to put a flavor shot in it I heard some other woman yell. No way this isn't ours!! I felt I needed to explain myself in front of customers. I am not trying to steal a flavor shot. It wasn't that important, I tried to explain I had a receipt and wasn't lying. She said I was lying and humiliated me loudly in front of my children and other customers.. . I scrambled to get my receipt for her but she was done with the conversation.I was so embarrassed at her tone of voice and the way she shut me down. The first lady at the window apologized to me but explained she could do nothing about it I think she was new and I don't blame her for the situation at all. I requested a managers number because of the humiliation and she told me no. They walked away and ignored me for a long time. Then after I waited for a while at the window she finally scribbled a fake number on another receipt. I called it and it was a false number. My children were upset I was upset and I explained it wasn't about the tea it was the whole disrespect she gave me like I was trying to steal a flavor shot for some home made ea in a honey dew cup... I was a frequent customer and I had just bought something from them right then. I called the honey dew asking for the managers number and was hung up on twice in a row and have not been back to the donut shop. It was the honey dew on allens ave in providence Cranston line. In rhode island I usually don't complain about places but it still upsets me to think about..

Meh... bland bready bagel with sour cream cheese washed down with what was probably expired orange juice. What better way to start the day.

I can't even remember the first time I went to this location. I'm pretty sure I was fresh out of diapers and tightly clenching a glazed in my little hands. While I'm not so much a fan of donuts, I am by nature, a morbidly obsessed fan of iced coffee. No, not hot coffee. No, not iced lattes. But iced coffee. Honey Dew by far has been my favourite staple of this beverage with suitable, sweetener-free flavour shots and its trademark strong coffee taste. If there is one thing that makes me ill on sight, it's watered down iced coffee: I will literally send it back and walk out. This location is one of my favourites. Unlike many of the others, this one is corporate as I last knew a couple years back, meaning it's not owned by any one individual but the company itself. Generally this is a good thing as it means they have to adhere to strict rules and guidelines: at one point I believe it was owned by someone else who made a royal mess before closing temporarily. Donuts and bagels are tastefully good however due to its immensely high traffic location (right off of 95 and right on the 95N ramp) they're constantly out of pastries. Okidoki. The iced coffee however, is usually delish. Unlike other locations they tend to brew it a little on the extreme side: so dark in fact, that even the addition of extra cream barely lightens it up. That's how I love it. Customer service is usually top notch however there appears to be a couple new additions as recent as this week who royally screwed up my order (coffee was covered with sugar and was nearly translucent, yuck) and literally took 20 minutes to serve the one car in front of me through the drive-thru. I would say generally, 8 times out of 10, things are made 100% on the perfect. A word of caution: if you order your bagel with either cream cheese or butter -on- it, make a run to the ER. They literally slather it with so much, the grease from the butter actually forms a puddle at the bottom of the bag. Order it on the side.
