Love Au Bon Pain's bagels!!! This 4:45 a.m on 7/14/2015 @ I'm watching the clock for the to open so I can get breakfast!!!! I only like bagels from ONE other place in this area and that is BAGEL GOURMET BUT--- bagel gourmet does NOT treat it's customers properly, they are rude, do not greet you or say PLEASE AND THANK YOU when taking your money and ENGLISH is the 2nd language there, I'm sorry I thought I moved back to AMERICA , where ENGLISH is the spoken language!!! When I'm overseas I AM expected to know the language!!!! (BROOK STREET LOCATION NOT THAYER.!!!! THAYER LOCATION IS GREAT!!!) so because of My aforementioned complaints which have also been noted in many reviews of that establishment I must say I LOVE AU BON PAIN!!!! 4 bagels to go PLEASE!!!!!! Have a nice day& enjoy! As a customer, hearing those words are priceless!!! As a local small business owner they ARE A MUST FOR MY EMPLOYEES!!!!! Keep up the great job AU BON PAIN!!!!!!

Their bagels and cookies are to die for. I went there when I was in summer school in Brown.

This place is open pretty early compare to the other food places around the area. The food is overpriced and there is nothing special about it. The chicken noodle soup tastes alright. They ran out of certain types of bagel and the person forgot to make my friend her smoothie. The place is comfortable for you to sit around, have a snack and use the free wi-fi on your device.

The food is pretty good. I got a grilled veggie sandwich and the bread was too hard. Everything is cold, which I don't like. They also use too much of their lemon aioli on too many of their dishes.

There is something extraordinary about ABP's hazelnut coffee and cheddar bagels. (Maybe I should try the Asiago cheese ones too!) Service is occasionally unsmiling, but always speedy and professional. Wi-Fi, large windows, and a variety of ways to sit (booth? high stool? long table? round table?) are pluses.

Tasty pre-packaged salad, although I didn't notice until after I walked out that there was not salad dressing in the actual package. A lot of tables for studying and for doing work. The sandwich was meh, I've had better.

large selection of healthier soups, including gluten free and vegan options, which are consistently updated. the staff are extremely efficient and nice here, which makes the thayer lunch rush a little less unbearable here.

I think this is a very reliable place to grab breakfast or lunch on Thayer. It does smell funny sometimes and I wish there were napkin dispensers in more than one place, but the food is the same no matter which location you're at. The asiago cheese bagels rock so hard I could live on them forever and be happy (toasted with butter). The tomato basil bisque is totally yum. The salads and sands are nice but expensive. They should offer a regular brew iced coffee other than French, which is too strong for me, or vanilla because I like my coffee to be coffee flavored. The pastries are quite nice, they have free wireless, and it's always a good temperature inside.

I find ABP's sandwiches/wraps/salads to not be worth the money most of the time. However, sometimes I am in a hurry and need something quick and filling--and it's at these times that I make a quick stop here. Their black bean burger is a classic (but I love avocado, so be warned that I am heavily biased because of this), and their chipotle chicken sandwich is quite solid as well. I do come here willingly when I need a filling breakfast that isn't outrageously priced. Their egg and cheese sandwich options (with variants on the classic that allow you to incorporate ingredients such as avocado or salmon) have always been my go-to. Service is not bad at all, and you'll usually get your food pretty quickly. There's also a bar lining the window that college students tend to camp out at.

I have always liked Au Bon Pain, the pastries, sandwiches, drinks are all good. I like that the pasty display has calories next to each selection...that way you can choose by price as well as by calorie intake. We stopped for an iced coffee, which was good and tasty. Next time we plan to get a nice salad and split a yummy dessert/pastry.

A lot of the food here is "meh" but special shoutout to my homegirl: the egg white, cheddar, and avocado sandwich on a skinny wheat bagel. If you haven't had this yet, you're seriously missing out! It's filling, flavorful, and won't break the calorie bank (won't break the real bank either!). Served all day--if you're a Brown student who eats often on Thayer or are looking for a breakfast-like option, you have to try it.

I went in for a quick bite and I liked the selection and the prices were pretty economical for being a "coffee shop". The sandwich I had was very tasty and looked appealing as well, and since it was a grilled cheese, it was definitely a plus. . I am not a big coffee drinker so the selection for other beverages were very sufficient for my liking. I frequent this place every time I am in the area of Brown University.

This Au Bon Pain is managed by a native Kenyan who always wears nice dress pants, a blue dress shirt, and a very inviting smile. The people who work here are very nice, always calling me ma'am or miss after each sentence when speaking to me behind the register. I give the sandwich artists, bagel masters, and whoever else works here a gold star for etiquette. As like any other Au Bon Pain, hot food and customized salads are expensive. However, after 9pm, bagels and baked goods are half-off. I got a sesame bagel and a chocolate croissant for under $1.50. I feel pretty frugal.

Madeleine's Thoughts Au Bon Pain is always a good staple. They have good bagels, good sandwiches (the pesto chicken one is nice), good side salads and crackers, and ultimately everything is good. But "good" isn't a word I use to describe my favorite of anything. It's a nice place (again, nice ain't a great word) that is always kept at a nice temperature, it's in a convenient location for college kids, it isn't too overpriced, and they do have free wi-fi. Will I return? Sure. But if people visit me is my first instinct going to be "OMG! You HAVE to go to au bon pain with me because its the best thing everrrrrr" ? I think not. It's a chain that is popular and is good. "good"...

By far one of the bet Au Bon Pains out there. The people who work here are actually nice and friendly in addition to the yumminess that exists here! I came here once for an Asiago Cheese Bagel toasted with butter but none were to be had! The girl behind the counter was nice enough to tell me some were coming out of the oven in 5 minutes if I wanted to wait. She even suggested not toasting it because hot out of the oven bagels are just to die for on their own. She was right!

We enjoyed our lunch here! Grilled cheese was good, the asparagus pea soup was delicious! Definitely a student favorite, highly recommended!

Who can write a sad review about Au Bon Pain? This girl! For the 6 months a loved one was in the hospital, my family ate almost every day at Au Bon Pain. It was that or the hospital cafeteria. When you are bored senseless and coping with a disaster, you do stupid silly things. Like have the soup daily menu memorized and the bet your sibling what the surprise soup will be. Like try EVERY dessert they make. And then try and make your way through the food menu. I still eat here when I don't know where to go. It's comforting and always decent. Insider tricks- ask to try the soup before you order. Not all of them are good and some do commit the cardinal soup crime of having to many carrots and celery as filler. Always order fresh sandwiches and salads. The refrigerator case is not your friend. And you can't go wrong with any of the cookies.

I love ABP. It's a great staple wherever I go. However, I went to get lunch today and I waited about ten minutes while the employee making my sandwich was on his cell phone clearly making his OWN dinner reservations. It's a nice staple, and the cookies are great, but the service was terrible.

I often find Au Bon Pain to be bland and overpriced - two things I dislike (as you can imagine...). This Au Bon Pain is pretty run-of-the mill, with comfy seating and such. It's appropriately light and airy. Be forewarned, there are not many outlets, and apparently the internet is very slow. I lined up to get a sandwich, and two managers greeted me on my way up, which was nice but kind of unexpected. The sandwich was really just OK - some tasteless roast beef, decent white cheddar, a mealy tomato, and some lettuce on a hard roll. This was somewhere shy of $7, which is a bit much. I almost got a side of fruit, but I saw how much of an afterthought their waterlogged, probably overpriced fruit cups are and quickly reversed course. It's not as if I'd never spend above $7 for lunch, but when it's just not-amazing ingredients plopped onto bread (and not toasted, which would've been better)...well, I don't see any reason to heap praise upon such an average place.

This location has nice facilities if you are in the vicinity and need a place to work or study without any interruptions. They have a couple of booths which have a large enough table to fit your textbooks, your laptop with additional room for beverages and food. The food here is always fresh and tastes great. My favorite sandwich here is the salmon wasabi sandwich, paired with a broccoli cheddar soup. Cofffee flasks are refilled at regular intervals and I like that I can see when the coffee was brewed. Staff here are friendly and unobtrusive and you can always see them working hard on something or the other, pausing every now and then to greet people coming in/going out. There's a Starbucks from across the street, but I find it to be a bit crampy (especially with my books and laptop) and I prefer the spaciousness provided by Au Bon Pain. Also, the coffee is as good, if not better.
