The burger was squished and so was the roll, the actual burger was greasy and generally not good. I will not return, not sure why it gets such good reviews. The fries were soggy and unappetizing. Go somewhere else would be my best advice.

Always a great experience. The food speaks for itself what makes this place great is the service although not the best part of town the customer service is great. AAAAAAAA+++++++ each time I have been here the cashiers have been nothing but friendly. The cooking team ensures everything is right the first time and clean and friendly. Super fast service and a clean atmosphere. This is the best customer service I have found in Newport for any restaurant/fast food. I highly recommend this five guys!

There's nothing worse--in the first world--than making a specific order and having items missing from that order on receipt. I ordered a cheeseburger complete with my favorite ingredients. One of the utmost ingredients, A-1 sauce, was no where to be found. I was pretty irritated about it. Then, we got regular fries when in fact we ordered Cajun. Ugh. Check your order before leaving. What an annoyance. How hard is it to follow directions, sheesh.

This has to be the quietest Five Guys I have ever been to. I got there about 1PM.....I was customer 18 for the day. If you want a five guys that really pays attention to your food and don't want to wait in line give this place a try.

Our go-to burger joint. If you get double patties "all the way", get extra napkins. Haven't been disappointed yet with the burgers. Grilled cheese for the kids is a burger bun turned inside out and stuffed with cheese. Bunless burger even made an appearance. Not sure what those other nay-sayers are talking about. The table side delivery is a nice touch. The bathroom was extremely clean, a must since it is a one-person bathroom.

I love Five guys, THIS store though is missing some of the little things... They don't package your ketchup for you when you get a bunless burger. the drink machine looked like it was wiped down, but with a sticky cloth. I also didn't get any silverware / plasticware with my bowl which is fairly standard. I still rated them above average because the food itself was very good especially compared to other fast food places.

Greasy But Expected Let's face it, if you're looking to eat healthy, you wouldn't step anywhere within a 500 foot radius of Five Guys. But if you're not looking to mirror Charles Barkley's latest Weight Watchers efforts...stop by for an awesome burger. The thing with Five Guys is that when you order a burger, you're going to get two patties. If you're looking for one circular meat patty, get a junior burger. Along with said burger is a wide range of toppings so you can customize it to your clogged arteries heart's desire. Their fries are pretty awesome too and they tell you where the potatoes came from. Get them regular or Cajun style if you're looking to "spice" it up (see what I did there?) Their menu is simple and that's the point. Come in for a delicious burger...maybe some fries...and leave satisfied. This place is indeed Ron Swanson approved.

A few years ago I stumbled upon a Five Guys at Reagan Airport in DC and it instantly became my favorite burger joint. Needless to say I was pretty pumped to learn a location would be opening in Newport... Yesterday I made my first appearance at the new location and it was just as I remember - awesome. I give Five Guys '5 stars' because it's truly as good as it gets for a burger in Rhode Island. The burgers are reasonably priced and taste amazing. Five Guys serves your classic burger - what makes them stand out is they've perfected the classic burger. Everything down to the smallest detail (like how tight the relatively large burger stays wrapped in the foil) is perfected. They make some pretty mean homemade fries as well. A large order of fries is easily enough to split between 2 people. The service was really good - all of the employees seemed to be totally into their jobs which was fun to watch. The location is good too and I'm really glad they didn't decide to open one Downtown...although they would have made a killing. I 100% recommend 5 Guys in Newport - Check it out.

I'll start off by saying that I basically grew up eating Five Guys Burgers. I was born and raised right outside of DC. Five Guys Burgers is probably one of the top three burger joints on my list ... at least when I'm back in DC. When I heard that a Five Guys was opening up a franchise in Newport, I immediately cleared my schedule to make sure I was there on opening day. Needless to say, I was very unimpressed! The burger was less than desirable ... the fries were overly salty and not crisp. I attributed all this to the "first day" blues. However, I've been back multiple times. None of those experiences were as bad as the first day, but, they still don't compare to how Five Guys is run back home (in DC). The DC burgers are cooked juicier and tastier. The fries are made perfectly every time. Here in Newport, it's a mixed bag. It seems as though Newport hasn't perfected the art of the Five Guys Burger and Fries yet. One day, it'll be a great meal, but the next ... well ... isn't a great meal. I'll conclude with this ... in the 20+ years I have eaten at a Five Guys, Newport's franchise is THE FIRST to screw up an order. I've been to Five Guys Burgers in Virginia, DC, Maryland, NYC, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and in Texas. None of the franchises at ANY OTHER CITY messed up ANY of my orders. NONE of them. The only reason I give this 3 stars (and not any lower) is because I know that Five Guys is a great franchise ... everywhere else. I really hope that the Newport Five Guys gets their act together and becomes as consistant as every other Five Guys I've been to. It's not a good showing of what Five Guys is really like.

I had really high hopes for this "Five Guys" place when I first heard it was opening in Newport. That changed after a couple visits. The burger is always soggy when i get it and turns the bun into a texture similar to that of a wet clump of toilet paper. The fries were very good and crispy, but only on the first visit. After that, first visit, I never got the same texture of fries, always soggy. Also, depending on the day of the week, you can taste how old and dirty the frying oil is in the fries. Overall, the quality of the food is extremely inconsistent. One last thing worth mentioning, the smell. There was a foul odor about the place that was honestly unlike anything I've ever smelled before. I don't even know how to describe it besides that it was possibly as bad as raw sewage.

I think like a lot of people from the island. We have island cars, we don't like to leave our little safe island and we Don't like food chains :) But I must admit five guys is pretty awesome. You pay as much as at the mcD but now you get 'real' food, freshly made to order. Yummy simple fresh Fast food! :)

I'm thinking that since I've been to 5 Guys on the East Coast before that it would be tasty, like when I was in Huntsville. This time I decided to make it a small and keep it at one patty. The thrill of biting into the juicy burger just wasn't there. Man, I was disappointed. I guess that feeling is only accomplished with two patties, the normal burger. Eh. It is still good. They could lighten up on the salt though.

I like burgers--but for me, getting one at a burger chain has been unremarkable; a nice experience when I want a burger, but I CERTAINLY never would have written a review about one of these places. As a military guy, though, you pretty much can't avoid DC--and when I first walked into a Five Guys down there it was a whole new experience. But once you left the DC area, well, you were pretty much outta luck. Thankfully, that's changed, with the arrival of Five Guys locations, seemingly, EVERYWHERE in the last couple of years--including right here on "The Island"! Try one, and you'll see why they're spreading so quickly; they're probably the best thing coming out of the Beltway in a LONG time!

This was my first time here...what a bust. I'd choose Burger King or Wendy's over them any day. The bun for my burger was mushy and the fries were not crispy. I can't believe I paid $11 for a burger and fries...no drink...at a chain fast food place on the US mainland. Being from Hawaii I might expect that. I could really go for an In n' Out!!!

Fast and convenient. Close to the house what more could I ask for. We go here sometimes when time has gotten away and we just want food. This is the place the staff is upbeat and the wait is not long. Who doesn't love all those peanuts and the drink choices. And the food is good and made to your order. Cajun fries I love them. Dogs split and cooked

The only burger joint I'll eat at. Place is very clean. I like how they prepare the food with gloves on :) Veggie burger is delicious! Price is also reasonable.
