Just when I thought Newport couldn't get any better, I came across Easton's Snack Bar. Located on the beach, the Easton's is the perfect summer place to grab some really good lobster rolls while taking in the breeze from the ocean. In addition to being on the beach, the biggest draw here is the fact that you can get an order of twin lobster rolls and fries for $13. In a situation like this, you'd be served mediocre lobster rolls and luke warm fries... Well not here! The bread is fresh, the fries are hot out the oil and the lobster is plentiful, chunky and delicious. Not the best lobster roll ever, but pretty dam good. Easton's is definitely a must on a visit to Newport. It's a casual beach bar that embodies a Newport summer in a different way than the places in town. For value like this, and the beach to go with it, it's a no brainier.

Honestly, what could be better than sitting by the beach, over looking the ocean and enjoying twin lobster rolls served with fries for under $15? For a snack shack located on Easton Beach, this place does a good job churning out a tasty lobster roll combos at a very reasonable price. As other reviewers have said, are these the best lobster rolls you will ever have...no. But these things have good sized chunks of fresh lobster meat, mixed with a decent amount of mayo and served on two hotdog buns. Add in the fact that they serve these with a good portion of French fries...it is hard to find a combo like this without putting a huge dent in your wallet. The snack bar also offers up other seafood options, as well as burgers, hotdogs, wraps and other snacks, in case lobster rolls aren't your thing. Service is usually pretty quick, even when there seems to be a decent amount of people waiting and the servers here have also been quite friendly when ordering. If you are looking for a good bite to eat, a view and to get your monies worth, the snack bar at Easton Beach is a solid choice.

This is a solid 4.5 star place. Why? Quality and value. Is it the best lobster roll that you'll ever have? No. Why people keep saying "wasn't memorable" or "not the best I've ever had". This isn't some story about who you hooked up with last weekend. Even if your weekend hookup was the best you've ever had, there are other considerations before you would ever think of marrying the person, no? And until that you're forever committed to one lobster roll for the rest of your life, there will be some lobster rolls that you will try where you will say "that was pretty good!" EVEN if it wasn't the best you've ever had. This is one of those situations. Two lobster rolls with fries for less than $15? Awesome deal. Lobster was fresh enough for the price you're paying. Try finding a place that gives you two lobster rolls of this quality AND fries for under $15. Order and eat at the beach. I don't recommend you get the clam chowder. I found it to be average - for the money, I'd rather eat more lobster rolls.

This place is definitely the place to go to for some pocket friendly lobster rolls! Wonderful view overlooking the beach and the two roll combo was only $18! We took the rolls to eat on our way home and it was the perfect snack! Will definitely be back to sit and watch the waves while enjoying the rolls!

Really. Yelp? When I look up restaurants in Newport a Snack bar is at the top? When I look up seafood, it's darn near the same result? I'll bite, and it's near the beach anyway so why not? The first thing we did after finding parking was to hit the snack bar, might as well because we're going to the beach anyway. Two Lobster rolls for about 15 bucks not bad. The rolls were pretty small but had a good amount of meat to them. The order came up quick and we found a seat outside fortunately, no seagulls saw us but we did see someone fall victim to it; the bird just swooped in a snatched a fry out from someone's hand. The rolls itself were good, slightly sweet, crisp. A good lunch spot and and right near the beach so you can go after or before.

2 lobster rolls with a side of fries $14. Can't go wrong with that. Not the most amazing lobster roll I've had before, but such a good deal! The lobster is delish and its not covered in mayo. The bun is perfectly buttery. We also got some fried whole bellied clams which were perfectly fried. Pretty good overall for some fried seafood by the beach at the snack bar!

Excellent for what it is: a snack bar on the beach. You're not coming here for a Michelin starred lunch nor is anyone lobster fishing out back. My husband and I decided to stop by Easton's Beach on our way back to Newport from some nearby winery tastings. We ordered the twin lobster rolls, which were a decent size and came with a small fry on the side. The rolls were good and filling. We also ordered fried clams. These were good, but not a must have. We actually would have been better off ordering just the lobster rolls and an additional side of fries. With one small drink our total came out to $27, which I consider to be a very fair price. The lobster rolls might not be the best ones ever, but they're still better than what most of us can find in non-coastal states :) We easily got one of the umbrellaed tables at 1:45pm on a Friday. The staff is young (I'm assuming most are teenagers working summer jobs) and friendly. Pretty quick turnaround. Definitely watch out for the seagulls as the signs state because they were definitely on the hunt! There is a parking lot as well as some metered spots. But if you're a smart tourist like us, you'll take a left at the first side street up the hill and park in one of the free, non permit spots and walk the extra 200 feet. The snack bar is ideal if you're spending time at the beach or need sustenance before/after the Cliff Walk.

Yelp actually helped me find this place during my first visit to Newport! The fried clam rolls were great & of course I appreciated their affordable price compared to other places. We took our food under some nearby shaded area that had tables with a view of the beach to enjoy them away from pesky seagulls. I only docked this place a star because the teenagers who took our order were not very friendly/welcoming.

The absolute best priced lobster rolls I have ever encountered and they are absolutely delicious, as well. $14 or so for TWO (yes, two) lobster rolls and a side of crispy fries. The lobster is lightly tossed with mayo and there are a few strips of lettuce underneath. The bun is toasted with butter and is perfect. I look forward to a weekend full of lobster rolls each year that I visit Newport and this snack spot is the only place I get them now. Also recommend a pint of the fantastic fried whole-belly clams (served with great tartar sauce) and the clam chowda!

Looking for a quality Lobster Roll while in Newport. Read some good reviews of Easton's and decided to give a try. A good solid offering and certainly can't beat the value. I felt it needed a little sprinkle of salt - but otherwise no filler or extenders - and not too much mayo - a solid execution. The sleeper pick though was the fried clam bellies! Meaty, perfectly breaded and fried. Not to be missed IMHO.

After looking up places that had the best lobster rolls in Newport, i settled on Eastons. My husband and i parked in the lot nearby, did the 7-mile cliff walk, then arrived back at Eastons looking to fill our starving bellies. We both got the twin lobster rolls (how could we not?). I am normally not a cold, mayo-based lobster roll fan. I prefer the other New Englander way- hot and buttered. However, at Eastons they butter and grill the roll on both sides and then fill it with the lobster. It was TO DIE FOR. Huge, fresh chunks of lobster on hot, buttery, grilled buns. They werent skimpy either. The two were a perfect amount of food (they are only about 6 inches a piece). The fries they are served with were good, but nothing to write home about. Really though....who's there for the fries? We sat out on the deck, making sure we protected our food from looming sea gulls as the sign suggests. If you want a great lobster roll at a really fair price (11.97!!) you have to chekc out Eastons.

2 lobster rolls for $15 AND an awesome beach view? What more could I possibly ask for? This place has amazing value! The lobster rolls were decent too. Nicely buttered and overflowing with lobster chunks. Next time I'm in Newport, I'm definitely coming back for more.

As crazy as it sounds, we (a group of 8) trekked all the way out here from NYC for their famous lobster rolls. Everything else was an added bonus. For $13 bucks we scored two lobster rolls and some fries. No alcohol here even though it's called a beach bar? No biggie though. They are not kidding about the seagulls, I saw one snatch the lobster roll right out of a woman's hand!!!!! The beach that this place is assituated on is absolutely beautiful. I am shocked that it's not on any of the "beach beaches in the north east" lists. Beautiful powdery sand, easy parking, just enough waves to have fun with a boogie board.

  • Karin P.

Just OK....I'm generally not one for fried food but when in Rome, right? The clams strips were tender not chewy. Also ordered the lobster rolls & clam chowder. Pretty sure the chowder isn't homemade. Don't waste your $$ there & the lobster rolls were tasty are a great deal. Fresh lobster & not swimming in mayo. Think that they could make better use of their space by adding more tables. Seating is very limited & tables aren't ideal in my opinion. Nice views of the coast. Would only return for the lobster rolls.

Warning: This is not your average beach snack bar. Twin lobster rolls and fries for sub-$12?! What planet are we on here? The lobster rolls were loaded with meat and the crab cake sandwich AKA "crabby patty" was all around the bomb. It was too cold for a beach day, but we trekked down to Easton beach for this sole purpose. We had a great view of the ocean while munching on our grub. So cheap and so good.

    (5)
  • Nikki T.

Not the best lobster roll I've ever had- the twin rolls are cheaply filled and the shredded lettuce at the bottom gave it a funny taste. A good snack for the beach, but nothing to write home about. Pros: cotton candy, twist top drink bottles, convenience Cons: smallish portions with cheap fillers.

  • Lauren W.

$12.99 for 2 lobster rolls- cheapest around and excellent taste! Calm bites were recommended by the girl behind the counter. Taste was good but too oily and had a lot of dough. Overall it was ok but not what I expected by the name. If you can find a spot, park in the metered parking which is a short walk away. There's a parking lot, but you have to pay $10 for a spot!

This is a place I take all of my friends when they come to visit Newport. The lobster rolls are great (in my opinion some of the best in town-but I don't like celery so that makes a difference) and the fried clams are yummy. The service is quick, the college and high school kids that primarily work there are fast, there are a few tables, and it is cheap. If it is busy, please don't be those people who sit at a table and gawk at the ocean after you are finished eating. There are plenty of places to sit ON THE BEACH where you aren't taking up a table. This place is great-sometimes I even stop on my way to work to grab lunch on the go.

This is seriously great food on a great little spot on the beach. You gotta get the lobster rolls. A whole lotta deliciousness on two perfectly toasted buns. They are otherworldy. Also the clam rolls are deep fried savory goodness that only a donut could truly rivals. This time I also had the chowder and was a satisfied customer. This is going to be my go to spot in Newport.

    (5)
  • Yeelin T.

We got the lobster rolls with fries and the clam strips. The lobster rolls were quite good but the roll was meh. I've had much better. Fries were cold and really disappointing. $15 for 2 small lobster rolls and fries. The clam strips were tasty, but not that memorable. The other two people in our party ordered fish and chips, chowder, and clam strips. The tab come up to $55 which was pricey given what we got but maybe that's because this is a tourist trap.

  • Willa Y.

2 lobster rolls for the price of one. Ding ding ding. Best deal in town. The value is undeniable. The quality is absurd for the price. You'll tell yourself: I can't possibly eat two lobster rolls! But trust me, you can and you will.

Five stars for great lobster rolls at an affordable price on the beach! This is a great meal, value, and location!

You definitely leave full and satisfied! Our first time here was a week ago and it was great- we enjoyed the twin lobster roll special. We came back today to have it again as we walked the beach. The only reason I take a star off is because the staff was rude and did not seem interested in satisfying the customer when we came today. We asked where our drink was and she rudely just pushed it maybe an inch closer to us on the counter rather than handing us our drink. I work in food service and that just isn't the way to treat guests. We will be returning however- great prices and food!

The only thing that is 4 stars is the view. The lobster roll was dry. The burgers were not tasty. Lets just say that frozen Bubba burgers surpass their burgers. Not a fan and disappointed.

Twin lobster rolls and french fries for $11.97? Yes please! This has got to be one of the best values in Newport. Who would have thought that a snack bar on the beach would serve lobster rolls, and delicious ones at that. For comparison, my brother bought a lobster roll in NYC last week and it was $18 for one. This was two and french fries. The hubby and I split one order of twin lobster rolls. They were fantastic! Great portion size and great flavor. The fries were nice and crispy too, just the way I like them. We were highly impressed. When my husband went to retrieve our car, I placed another order of the twin lobster rolls to go. This was our "dinner" on our drive back to New Jersey. So much better than rest stop food. This was our third trip up to Newport, I wish I had known about this place sooner. And we were on the beach here on one of our previous trips too. Just want to give a shout out to my fellow Yelpers for the great reviews, without you I never would have thought to try Easton's Beach Snack Bar. Can't wait to return to Newport for these yummy lobster rolls!

We made plans to visit the beaches in the area mostly for a chance to try the food here, and it definitely delivered! The lobster rolls were great for the price, and I loved how the buns were toasted and buttered. Also tried the whole bellied clams which were pretty good, though I felt like I could've been just as happy eating any of the other fried options. My friends tried the clam chowder as well, which they said was just average and thinner than most chowders. We went around 4pm on a Sunday afternoon so it wasn't that crowded and the service was fast.

  • Bryce C.

How can you beat the price? Two lobster rolls for $12 is unheard of. The rolls were pretty decent for the price, more claw meat than anything else, but still really good. The fries were crisp and decent for a frozen fry. I would rate this as a 5 for the food, but the service was subpar. The cashier refused to give my boyfriend and cup of water, even though we both ordered meals and I was getting a bottle of Coke Zero. I also watched the server refuse every other guest for any request they may have had. An extra side of something, resulted in a curt no. A substitution was almost laughed off.

Awesome lobster roll @ amazing price point. Could of used more fries though. Burger just OK per my kid. Wife states nachos were ok.

Went today while vacationing in the area. Was excited based off the reviews, but I am shocked yelpers are so fond based off our experience. Maybe it was because we were there on a weekday? Still not an excuse in my opinion.. Wanted a single lobster roll, girl behind the counter says they only sell them in twos... (No idea why this would be the case). Ok fine, how about one clam roll, one lobster roll ( identical dish but w fried clams, same sides same price)? They "can't mix and match" either. Asked if they could fill up my reusable water bottle (had just walked cliff walk) and got a no to this as well. Not a single apology for any of this. At the end, lobster rolls were just ok, and I think she overcharged us somehow...

    (2)
  • Anthony I.

Wow. They have some great seafood rolls. Also, who can beat a deal of two Lobster Rolls, for $14.00? Are you serious? That's the deal of the century.

    (4)
  • Gabe S.

Based off the yelp reviews I had very very high expectations. We got the twin lobster rolls with french fries and there is lettuce in the lobster on which personally I didn't like. I'm no lobster roll aficionado but I just got the lettuce ruin the taste of lobster so next time I would definitely order it without the lettuce. The fried clam strips are unreal and very nicely sized for seven dollars.

OBSESSED with this place!! We moved to Newport for the summer and I called them to see about ordering 50 lobster rolls for our first party which happened to be 4th of July. Barry was so helpful and awesome! He made the rolls and they were RIDICULOUS!!! Everyone at the party was asking me where we got them and was talking about how fresh, delicious and amazing they were! I couldn't have been more pleased w the rolls and clam cakes! What a deal! All my friends are talking about how they are ordering them for their next parties. I couldn't believe we had some left over the next day and they were STILL amazing!!! Did I mention I am obsessed. Best Lobster rolls in town!! and by far the best prices! If you don't order from them for your next event you are missing out!! AMAZING!!! thank you Barry!

  • David L.

I wasn't particularly impressed with the rolls as I felt it contained too much mayonnaise. The chips that came with it were cold and not particularly appetising. But hey, at $13 dollars, the lobster rolls were a steal and it's still a great place to stop for lunch in between visiting the various mansions.

  • Matthieu R.

Great lobster rolls at this beach "restaurant" in the rotunda. The lobster was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was excellent - all in a buttered bun (not too buttery, and just golden brown). All this for $15, you just can't go wrong as it is up there along some other places charging almost twice as much. This is my kind of "junk" food!

    (4)
  • AJ J.

Full of nothing but young teens working that clearly lack any sort of customer service skills. Ask if you want a drink and point as if you are to select one and bring it to the counter but then yell when you try to. Worst lobster roll I had all week after trying many MANY places and the crab cake was down right gross and inedible. Not to mention ridiculously priced. Got the same meal at two other places for much cheaper and way better! Also got a whole 10 fries. NEVER AGAIN!

We ordered the twin lobster rolls with fries clam chowda and calamari ... Very good!!! My daughter had the bbq chicken wrap and she liked it... We had to come back 2 days in a row!!!

Wow! Best lobster roll I've ever had. No frills true New England lobster roll! This place is a gem. Stumbled upon it when I visited Newport a few months ago. It's a small divey place right on the beach. Don't overlook it b/c their lobster rolls are heavenly! Unfortunately I live in TX so I've never eaten a decent lobster roll. The ones I had in the past were blah. The lobster rolls here were so ridiculously fresh and delicious!! The price is very reasonable. I got the combo of twin lobster rolls with fries, double yum! A lady was saying it would cost 2-3 times more to get the same thing in NYC. There were a bunch of high school kids working here but they all were so nice and bubbly. Sitting on a table devouring those lobster rolls and fries while looking at the ocean on the beach on a rainy afternoon in Newport was memorable. After my meal, I hiked the entire ocean drive! Hope to come back again soon! I miss those lobster rolls and Rhode Island! A must stop!!

WHAT A JEWEL: LOBSTER ROLLS ON THE BEACH If you ever want the experience of fresh air, beautiful beach scenery and a DELICIOUS and I really mean it...A DELICIOUS LOBSTER ROLL - FOR NEXT TO NOTHING! Twin Lobsters Rolls were less than $13. with fries. I called ahead to see what time they opened since we were on our way to the Mansions and (maybe the owner) Barry told me he has gotten some good reviews on his Chowder so I had to try it and YES, it was certainly worth it. Not too thick and not too thin. Excellent amount of Clams and very tasty. I didn't even need to salt it. Thanks for the recommendation Barry! He also said there are weekends that have events and (beginning sometime in late June) on Tuesday's there is a free movie set up so that must be a blast. The parking is not tricky...you tell the guy at the stand that you are going in to eat. No Problem!! GO, EAT, and ENJOY!!

  • Olivia R.

LOVED this place! One of the best lobster rolls I've ever had and you can just casually sit at a picnic table overlooking the gorgeous Newport beach. Service was very fast. The only problem is the seagulls. Also if you aren't going to the beach parking in the lot is a bit expensive but you make up for it with the cheap lobster roll price!

  • Vanessa E.

This is my favorite place to get a delicious, quick, and casual meal near Easton's Beach. Don't go across the street to those other places. The food is better here, is better priced, and the service is fast and friendly. My kids like the fried calamari and I like the lobster rolls. It's closed during the off-season. I miss it in the winter and always look forward to eating here!

Visited again this summer and had the twin lobster rolls with fries $11.97 but didn't get to finish it ... we took our lunch to the beach and after taking 3 bites, a seagull swooped down and landed in my lap which startled me. As I jumped up with the styrofoam container (that the rolls/fries come in), more birds came from every direction so I threw the container to the ground. My remaining lobster roll and fries were consumed in seconds. The 3 bites and 6 or so fries I had were really good. BEWARE: If you plan on eating your lobster roll on the beach, be quick or prepare to lose it!

My significant other and I ordered twin lobster roll with fries, twin clam rolls with fries, and a bottle of coke. Both meals cost approximately $12 and some change. The soda was $2.50. The lobster rolls was good for the price paid. It's actually pretty cheap compare to most other places. The fries was decent. What suck was the server who stated the order messed up and gave my significant other just one clam roll with no fries instead of the original order of twin clam rolls with fries. The server who took our order, a young girl with blonde hair, apologized that she messed up the order after he mentioned it that his order was missing fries and not the right order, thinking they might have done a minor mistake at the kitchen or gave us someone else's order. She apologized and that was it. Nothing to do to fix it even when she was the one who admitted for making the mistake. Once we got to our car, he checked his account to make sure no money has been taken from his account since she slid his card twice! I end up having to pay with my card since she slid his card twice in a row causing the card to freeze for some time. It indeed was charged twice. Luckily it was still in pending so the money eventually came back onto the card. It still caused some inconvenienced. Food was good for the price paid but the servers sucks. Atmosphere is like any other beach snack bar. Lovely beach view, some plastic tables and seats. I would have preferred if they had some shades the very least.

Great place. Stopped last Saturday evening and I can recommend this spot. Clam rolls and lobster rolls were very good. Nice summer treat Beautiful beach. Parking free after 4.

Great deal for twin lobster rolls and fries! Only $12! The rolls are not cut all the way down (less lobster this way) but still a great deal and tasty. We also got a pint of the whole belly clams for $14. The biggest whole belly clams I have had in a really long time. The ones in Boston definitely do not compare. I really liked the tartar sauce as well. Great view of the beach while you ate. The service is friendly and fast. Parking is free after labor day so that was a plus for us. You cannot tell that this gem is hidden here at the beach. A must try!

You can try more expensive lobster rolls around town but for an authentic well priced experience you can do no better than the Snack Bar. for around $13.00 you get two buttery toasted rolls packed with generous heaps of lobster. Any time i'm back in Newport you can bet i'm stopping here.

  • Zach L.

Meh, what's the rave? The line moves quick but the food is basic/standard "shack" food. Here's what we had: Nachos- nothing special. It's the same brand you get at a movie theater. Hot Dog - foot long. Nothing else Buffalo Chicken Wrap - terrible. Chunks of plain chicken with lettuce and tomato with a few dashes of hot sauce. That hardly constitutes "buffalo". How hard can this be to get it right? Fried Clam Strips - I guess if you like clams you might like these fried pieces of rubber. They even come with a hint of sand for that extra crunch.

  • Al T.

How can you go wrong with twin lobster rolls and fries for a measly $11 and change ($12ish with tax). Albeit, each lobster roll is slightly smaller than your typical one from Luke's/Red Hook in NYC. Together, it's quite the deal. The fries were fresh, though the 2nd batch was slightly soggy, possibly due to taking out of the fryer early. Otherwise, I could eat these all day. The bun was buttered and toasted perfectly. The lobster tasted fresh and they were chunky pieces of claw and tail. There is limited seating, but it has a great view right off the beach. You can watch the surfers catch waves while you shovel these little pillows of heaven down your gullet.

I love lobster rolls and this place does a great job making em! Everything was just perfect! If I wasn't laying out on the beach I probably would've ordered the calamari, clam rolls, and chowdah in addition to the lobster rolls. Everything looked so good on the menu! They even have churros, nachos, and popcorn here!

A secret treasure in that most only find out about it if they see already at first beach. This snack bar has great quality that is on par with even the best restaurants and in fact the lobster rolls are better than most others. All this with extremely reasonable prices! If you let them know you're only there for the restaurant, sometimes they'll let you park free

We were STARVED by the time we got to Easton Beach - and needed to refuel our energy before heading to the Cliff Walk. This little seafood shack is right by the beach, on the second floor, simple and cozy, and if you sit ouside, you get an amazing view of the ocean. I love clams and lobster but usually shy away from the rolls because the clams are fried and the rolls tend to be packed with more mayo and butter than I'd like - it makes me queasy. The lobster rolls and clam rolls produced by this little joint are great! The fried clams that comes with the clam roll is lightly fried with very small amount of flour, the tasty freshness of the clam comes through quite well, no greasiness, no over floured coating. The lobster roll is amazing! It is only lightly coated with small amount of light-ish tasting mayo. Nom nom. This is my kind of great seafood. The size of the dishes are not huge, but just a perfect amount for a pre-cliff walk lunch. Definitely beat all my expectations for a snack shack on the beach. Will most definitely visit this place again!

This is not your average snack bar I'm not a fan of Eastons beach because of the red tide but I go out of my way to get to the snack bar. Why? The Lobster rolls. You get two New England style hot dog buns, buttered and toasted stuffed with big chunks of lobster. Its the best lobster rolls around. So if you see people that are not properly dressed for the beach it's because they stop by just for the snack bar

My husband and I were lucky enough to take a kid free trip to Newport for our 10th anniversary. I had found Easton's here on Yelp, and knew we had to check it out. I emailed a few weeks back to make sure they would be open, and heard back right away with an answer. It might have been a foggy day by the ocean, but the food definitely lived up to our expectations. We stuffed ourselves with amazing seafood, and enjoyed the beautiful view from our seat on the deck. We'll definitely be back for more.

Love this place. I would probably come here everyday if I lived in Newport and this place was open on the weekdays. Both lobster rolls were a decent size and both together is definitely more than you get in NYC for double the price. Fries were good too. The only bad thing was they were out of clams when I got there :(

I was skeptical when my friend recommended this place as "one of the best lobster rolls you will find between Newport to NYC". Typically any food establishment by the beach is strictly for convenience and never something you are excited to wait on line for especially when it's always overpriced. I've had my fair share of lobster rolls from Maine, Boston, Rhode Island and NYC, let me tell you it's one of the best rolls I've had if not the best. The rolls were perfectly toasted and nicely buttered. Lobster was not overfilling like most place, but a decent portion. if this is not a reason for you to stop by it get's even better. Two lobster rolls and fries for $11. My only complaint is this place is not closer to Interstate 95.

There is NO BETTER PLACE IN TOWN than HERE for a Lobster Roll. I've been doing this for more than 14 years, and this is it. Yes, it is the snack bar at the beach. Yes, it is very casual. But I'm telling you . . . it is ABSOLUTELY awesome! I really can't think of a better place for TWIN Lobster Rolls and fries for $12. BEST LOBSTER ROLLS IN NEWPORT, hands down!! Look no further.

  • Michelle T.

TWIN LOBSTER ROLLS on a TOASTED TEXAS TOAST. For only $12! What more do you need to know. Then get an slushy lemonade and enjoy the rest of the day at the beach :)

Yummy!! You can't beat a good deal and tasty food at the beach. I got the whole belly clam rolls and fries and boy they where good. Only 11.95 for a good amount cooked to perfection. It also came out fast which is a bonus. Definitely enough to share. Will definitely come back when I come back to this beach. Wish I knew about this when I lived in Newport.

This was the best lobster roll ever. .I am from NJ and I love to make the drive just for this.

Walking toward Easton's Beach Snack Bar, I noticed a lot of bugs and cobwebs around the building near the seating area. It was pretty gross to look at and probably isn't the best first impression to have on diners before they reach the counter. The bugs kept flying into our food too. Nonetheless, my friends and I ordered the 2 lobster rolls deal for $12 and it was good! We all loved the toast that the lobster was served in and there was a pretty good mayo to lobster ratio. There could have been more lobster in the serving, or larger chunks (which I like) but that means they would need to raise the price. We also had the fried clam strips, which were fried well, but my friends and I felt that the strips were not as meaty as other places. Still, it was good. One downside to Snack Bar is that I felt that my friends and I weren't treated well here... The girl at the cashier didn't greet or welcome us as we walked in (we greeted her first) and when our order was ready she was screaming my name even though I was sitting at the table under the umbrellas just 15-20 feet away - yikes. No smiles either. I guess my expectations were higher in terms of service because in my head I correlate smiles and happiness to beaches.

It doesn't get much better than enormous chunks of lobster claw in a cool, creamy dressing on buttery grilled buns nestled in with hot fries while overlooking a lovely beach. The price was awesome for the amount and quality of food you're getting. I can imagine this place gets insanely busy during the actual summer months, but going on a warmish day in early May was a nearly perfect experience.

The yelp reviews don't lie!! The lobster rolls are great and the price makes it so much better! My husband and I love lobster rolls, so we've paid anywhere from $20-$25 (CT/NYC area) for just 1 lobster roll!!..but to have 2 lobster rolls AND fries for $12?!? that's unheard of to us, so we had to try this place out when we were in the area. Let's just say, the guy in front of us who ordered 50 was in his right mindset..These are some quality lobster rolls with buttery toasted buns and large chunks of lobster..The lobster isn't overly soaked in mayo, so you really do taste the sweet fresh flavor of the lobster..The fries were just as great, as they were thick and crispy!..Plus you get to enjoy your delicious lobster rolls at this beautiful beach, and it's right by the Cliff Walk! My friends and I parked in the beach parking lot (pricey at $20 but if you split it among people in your car and you plan on doing the cliff walk, then it's okay; otherwise park there after-hours because it's free). So we got to have our lobster rolls and then walked it off by taking the cliff walk..If you plan on doing the Cliff Walk, definitely check this place out for lunch!! or if you just love lobster rolls, just go there; it's so worth it!

  • Will D.

NONE BETTER: Huge chunks of tender lobster - claw and tail meat in a light dressing. Best lobster roll I've had since liberty call in Halifax, Nova Scotia in '97. Fries were definitely fresh and hot. Great price and perfect setting to enjoy your food. A must visit if you are in Newport during the summer. Come after 4PM and don't worry about the parking.

What's better than eating the twin lobster roll with a beer and enjoying the beautiful beach breeze at Easton's beach? Worth coming back even if you are a tourist! Highly recommend.

My idea of food on the beach included hot dogs, crappy pizza, funnel cakes, and the things I just listed in fried form. That's how it be in by the Jersey shore, yo. Well.. I guess I ain't in Joysey no mo, huh Dororthy, I mean D-Wow? When it comes to this place, you can try to imitate it. I've had a Lobster Shack food truck by my work. For $13, the lobster was there, but the taste was not. This place delivers it 100%. For $12, you get 2 lobster rolls and fries. Whatever their recipe/mayo ratio is to lobster is absolutely perfect. Add the proximity of a beach and it's almost too good to be true, but I have a photo and checked on Yelp. Ergo, since the wifi in my dreams is crappy, this place is real. 5 stars. BOOM.

  • Camy C.

only tried two things - two lobsters rolls + fries ($12) and Clam roll ($6). Both were really really good. The lobster rolls are definitely smaller than anthony's (and also has claw meat) but it's also a lot cheaper. There is more mayo and some celery in the mix which i like. The fries were also really yummy. I wish there was more of it but it was pretty generous serving given its low price. The clam roll was a bit surprising but basically it's a piece of hidden toasted roll under the mountain of fried clam strips (a bit too much breading but fried anything tastes delicious). The operation is very well-run and quick. No frills but the view/location is amazing and the price can't be beat.

Stumbled upon this place when I visited Newport last summer. The lobster rolls were delicious and very affordable compared to the restaurants in downtown Newport. Skip those places and take a quick drive here, where you'll find affordable, tasty lobster rolls and have a great view of the beach and ocean while you eat!

    (5)
  • Sung K.

are you fucking kidding me. $12 for two lobster rolls that are a TAD bit smaller than the ones in NYC (one for $16 average)...and it comes with crisp, shack fries. I'd get 5 of these and eat them all by myself. you're crazy if you don't like this place.

  • Milena P.

This is good food. We had the twin lobster rolls and the clam cakes. The lobster rolls were a great deal, as others have pointed out, and the claw meat was sweet and tasty. They're dressed with mayo but very lightly-- I normally hate mayo but I liked it here. The fries are also pretty decent! The clam cakes were amazing. The bits of clams were tiny and sparse, but the clam flavor was really infused in the batter. Doughy and light, and golden crispy on the outside. I'm hooked!

The greatest lunch we had in Newport! 2 awesome lobster rolls for $11 and a basket of clam strips for $7. Awesome! In fact we just decided we're going back tomorrow before we leave. Great view, super casual snack bar with great food. Go there!

  • Jacklin A.

It's nothing too fancy but the lobster rolls are delicious! Reasonably priced too for really delicious lobster. Really awesome value, definitely stop by if you're in Newport! The beach being two feet away doesn't hurt either.

chicken fingers and fries. fingers were excellent. fries....ehhhhh. cool place. there is nothing else around that beach, so for what and where it is.... i'm a fan and would eat there again.

  • Ramya S.

This is not a restaurant. It's just a beach side snack shop. U get a nice view but No alcohol. Clam cakes barely had any clams in it just fried dough balls with after taste of fried overused oil. Lobster roll isn't that great either, they are cheap but very small & with very less meat.

  • Abbey K.

Not bad at all for beach food. We had the twin lobster rolls with fries and a fish sandwich. Lobster rolls were the best deal for $11.97; could use more seasoning and be a bit less runny but good deal. I liked the fish because it was lightly breaded and a bit flaky. Add some malt vinegar amd lemon and it was simple but great.

  • Ed K.

This was a really good, inexpensive, and authentic New England Lobster roll. We hit the place at a good time as it raining and the line wasn't too bad but we had to scramble to find a seat that was dry. But I'm used to NYC food trucks so I can eat and stand without issue. Looking at some of the other reviews this beach can get crowded quickly as saw this as we tried to park the day before and couldn't. There is metered parking on the street but you would have to stalk someone leaving or just get lucky. Otherwise it's $20 to park in the summer/weekends. A must try when you are in Newport as you can't beat the price for Fresh Lobster Roll.

  • Allison L.

This is a pretty fitting 300th review, because, really, all I want in life is to eat cheap, tasty seafood, with a view of the ocean. This place definitely delivered. I was tempted by the fried clams, and mildly intrigued by the clam cakes, but opted for the two lobster rolls with fries, for $11.57, and it was one of the best things I ate on vacation. The combination of buttery, grilled rolls with lightly mayonnaise-y lobster was so, so good. I've been craving a lobster roll for the past week... a craving that's so intense, I've been considering getting the lobster sandwich, at Panera, because I live in Maryland. Sigh. Currently on the lookout for a good lobster roll in Baltimore, but I highly doubt whatever I find will compete.

I am a lifelong Newporter and have been to pretty much every restaurant and bar in town way too many times. I also usually get a lobster roll wherever I go and the one from Easton's Beach is THE BEST in town. With so many high-end restaurants in Newport it does seem strange that the best lobster roll comes from a snack shack at the beach, but it's true. Yes, even better than Brick Alley and 22 Bowen's (both also very good). I can't speak to anything else on the menu because I get the same thing every time, but if you're a fan of lobster rolls, you will not be disappointed.

    (5)
  • Agustin K.

Best find ever!! $11 for twin lobster rolls!! Really can't beat this price. And they are of good quality - I dare say even comparable to the one we had at Anthony's seafood. The table situation is a little tricky but you can always just take it to go and eat somewhere else if you cannot find a table. Lobster rolls with sand under your feet really can't be beat. No alcohol serve and you can't bring from outside because it is part of the Easton public park.

    (5)
  • David C.

This must be the best value clam shack in New England. Currently the twin lobster or clam roll is $ 11.75. At that price, one would have every right to be suspicious, but the quality is surprisingly high. They also have calamari on the menu. After you've chowed down on the food go work off your fat on the Cliff Walk. It's a two mile round trip from the snack bar to Ruggles Avenue and back!

I know I should be grateful for Shake Shack, but what I really want is an Easton's Beach Shack in the city damnit! I mean the lobster truck is good, but the lobstah at the shack is reeeeaaaalllly good! Big chunks of lobster lightly dressed are dee-liciously plump and perfectly cooked -- unlike that unidentifiable lobster confetti you get in some weak imposters. And here's the kicker... You get not one, but TWO of these warm, buttery, toasty buns filled to the max with a side of equally delicious fries for under $12!!!!Wahhaaaaaatttt?!?!?!?! Stick a fork in me because I've gone to lobster roll heaven over and over again. The whole fried clam bellies were super fresh and not overcooked, as well. Some of the better ones I've had... Not like the frozen dried out clam strips some establishments try to pass off as fresh seafood. I had to go back thrice to get my fix on this vacation. I'm drooling just thinking about that lobstah lobstah lobstah.... If you're ever in the Newport area, make a point to run, bike, walk, swim, crawl over there.

Best deal in town=Twin lobster rolls and fries. They are served on the New England style hot dog bun for extra goodness.

    (5)
  • Kiet L.

Twelve bucks for 2 lobster rolls and fries? Yes, please. A ton of clam strips for $8? Sure, why not. Over a dozen juicy, fresh clam bellies for 12 bucks? What a bargain. All of the above were ridic in price, freshness and tastiness. And with a view of the ocean. Best beach food EVER! Puts everything down at the Jersey Shore to shamez.

  • Bonita Y.

As a Bostonian, I love my lobster rolls, fried belly clams, clam chowda, and all things seafood. This is not only on par, but exceeded my expectations. Also, for two lobster rolls, it was only $10.99...and deliciously worth it! They also had a special of the day fried belly clams for $11.99....you can't beat that! Grab some delish seafood, grab a table that overlooks the beach, or even sit on the boardwalk! The only thing to make it even better is to bring your sunglasses so you can enjoy the view! p.s. They take credit cards now!

    (5)
  • Michael M.

Made the trip from South County while on vacation with our kids so they could have their first lobster roll. Not only fresh and delicious, but 2 for 12 bucks? Unreal..... 5 stars but they need some Del's lemonade!!!

    (5)
  • Srikrishnan M.

Highly recommend it! The lobster rolls and fries were absolutely delicious! The place has a great view of the beach and the water. The service was excellent and we got our food within a few minutes. It had excellent free parking too!

  • Brandi F.

The Pros: You really can't beat the price for the twin lobster rolls. Plenty of lobster, not too much mayo and a decent amount of fries to round it out. Why the three stars? This is where the cons come in: I think we were lucky in that we went on a weekend in September after Labor Day. They were still pretty busy, but there were a couple of empty tables, and a little bit of available parking. During the summer, this isn't always the case and the hassle just isn't always worth it. Plus, the bottled waters/soda are a little expensive. Overall, if you're already at the beach for the day, great! It's a beach snack bar, but for the prices (minus the bottled soda), and the quality, it's not bad at all. If you're just going for the food, either go much later in the day and only during the week, or else wait until it's no longer summer.

$11 for two lobster rolls and fries? That's like a third of a manicure. I'm in

  • Meghan M.

If you're at ABC and want something to eat, then go here! You would think that for a snack bar at the beach, you'd be getting cafeteria food. This is not the case, for what it is it is definitely worth it. Definitely get the twin lobster rolls with fries, you will not find a better deal in Newport!

    (4)
  • Minji K.

DO NOT underestimate this tiny little snack bar on Easton's Beach. For $12 you get two delicious lobster rolls and fries. The lobster was super fresh and didn't have that gross rubbery texture or fishy taste you get with bad lobster. I personally do not love my lobster swimming in mayo, so I thought their lobster to mayo proportion was just right. The fries were nothing special. You may be able to find lobster rolls elsewhere that are just as good, but you'll definitely have a hard time matching the price.

  • Kent K.

Great view if you could sit at their deck, particularly ocean side since it is on second floor. The place is rather small and seems a beach front To-Go snack stand but food is awesome. We had their signature Twin lobster rolls with fries, fried calamari and a soda. About $23. We were there around 3:00 without a line but I'm sure there will be a loooong line at lunch time. It located at the middle of beach so u can't miss it. There is public shower/toilet beneath the Restaurant. Very convenient.

    (4)
  • Katelyn F.

I don't entirely see what was so great about this. We had the lobster roll with fries and it was not as great as everyone has said. It's literally a beach shack, on the beach. No where to sit. My experience may have been different if it wasn't 100+ degrees outside. Still on the hunt.

    (3)
  • Khoa N.

Delicious twin lobster rolls on buttery toasted bread and fries for under $12! This beats those lobster rolls in those fancy schmancy restaurants for over $20. It tasted way superior too. There's a great view of the beach to go with your meal. The only regret I have here is not ordering 2 of these. The clam strips weren't that good and I could use some extra lobsters. If you're not going to the beach and just want to stop by for lunch, the temporary parking next door only charges $2 for the hour. You'll have to give them $20 upfront and get your ticket validated before they hand you back $18. Still an excellent deal if you look at the parking prices around the area. Plus, did I mention the food here is wicked cheaper than those other restaurants?

    (4)
  • Blah B.

The lobster rolls tasted OK, but I've definitely had tastier and fresher rolls in Maine and surprisingly in NYC. The fried clam belly was better but I'm sure there are some really awesome places in the northeast that would blow these away. The place also seemed pretty touristy. Obviously the price is great for what you get but it's not a destination eatery. If you are already in the area, go for it.

    (3)
  • Jeff S.

I don't expect much from beach shacks other than sandy and overpriced fried something. Not the case here. Great lobster rolls- you 2 for under $12 along with a pile of crispy fries. And these are really good- traditional New England hot dog buns, buttered and toasted, a little but of lettuce and a pile of lightly mayo'd lobster- sweet an fresh. Great food for the kids too- huge serving of chicken and fries was $7. And who can beat this beach- soft sand and a beautiful view just steps from Newport. What a find.

Best lobsters rolls in Newport for the price. And the atmosphere/beach can't be beat.

  • Doug D.

This has got to Be the best deal on the east coast. These are absolutly some of the best lobster rolls I have ever had. The fries are average, but you don't go for the fries. As a NY er, you can't beat this deal. On the ocean, free parking if you are only going to the snack bar. If you go to the beach it's very similar to orchard beach unless you go north to the other 2beaches where the real surfers go. This is a real GEm I hate to share.

  • Al D.

Ohhhhhhh, Easton's, I wanted to love you. Two lobster rolls for under $12? I should have known that offer was too good to be true. The lobster rolls are tiny and sparse. Basically, I'd rather have all the lobster in a single bun, to save myself the extra calories from bun #2 and have a decent looking roll. The lobster just didn't taste fresh. But the fries were good, and so were the clam strips. This place is also run by teenagers, literally. I'm not an ageist but I was surprised at how young everyone was. I was eager to try this place but was pretty let down. Don't go out of your way to come here but if you're at Easton's already, it's a decent dining option.

    (3)
  • Don S.

OK... it's a snack shack at the beach..and everything that implies... AND the lobster rolls are just excellent and at a good price...I could have those lobster rolls every day...check this place out....you won't be sorry.

  • Miranda K. D.

Wonderful view, no people at all at 8pm. The roll is buttery and good, the lobster fresh. I like my lobster with some spices or the like. This one is quite plain but most people may like it this way. And the price of course is amazing.

This place is 5 stars! The look of the place may deceive you in thinking that the food may not be that good, but it is! It's fresh and incredibly yummy. The lobsters rolls are some of the best I have had, Maine good! And the clam bellies are awesome. Enjoy!

The best lobster rolls anywhere! If you visit Newport, make sure you come here for lunch. Great views, casual setting, the best lobster!

  • Kelsey H.

Come for the lobster rolls! Classic with toasted hot dog buns and chunks of lobster meat. Two rolls plus fries for $12. Went on a lobster roll adventure and this came out the winner hands down in the group. Also try the fried whole belly clams: tartar sauce on the side is awesome.

  • Evan G.

It's legit. Two lobster rolls for $10.99, with fries. The snack shop is the best. Though they are small rolls, they don't skip on the meat. The location is great too. Upstairs from the beach, with a beautiful view and a view tables on the outdoor patio. Staff is nice too.

    (5)
  • B S.

Best bang for the buck while beaching for a day. The lobster rolls were well-portioned, fresh, and the butter/toasted bread especially delicious. Highly recommend this lunch for $12.

  • Meagan L.

$11 for 2 delicious lobster rolls and fries, and you're right on the beach! It doesn't get much better than that... I'll usually get a Del's too if the truck is in the parking lot, to make the perfect meal for under $15. If you're with kids, you can even go for a ride on the old carousel!

    (4)
  • William Y.

$12 twin lobster deal is hard to beat, although the clam cakes didn't have much clam in them. It DOES have the beach right there though.

    (4)
  • Margie H.

Great find! We asked all the Newport folks we met where the best lobster roll in town was and everyone said Easton's. Don't be weirded out by the fact that you are following signs to a snack bar - this is not just a popcorn and hot dog stand. The lobster rolls are fresh, heavy on the meat, and super cheap! Love getting to eat two smaller rolls instead of one bigger one - adds up to a nicer meat-bun ratio in my opinion. Plus the view can't be beat! If I'm ever in Newport again, at least one stop at Easton's will be a must.

  • Secret R.

Easton's Beach Snack Bar is the best beach snack bar ever! They really have a great selection and quality of food for a beach snack bar. It's not fine dining, but you can't get better value than twin lobster rolls and fries for $11.57. It's the best price I've seen for lobster rolls in RI, MA, and NY. The first time I had Easton's lobster rolls in 2010, I think it cost $10. I also enjoyed their crab cake sandwich and New England clam chowder.

Had researched for local places. The lobster roll and clam roll were excellent. Very good staff and friendly service. The owner made a point of coming to our table to make sure everything was good. Will definitely come back.

  • Dave S.

In from out of town and heard about the snack shack. Best bang for your buck n RI. Nice people working, good price, cool view....don't get ripped off downtown, go to the snack shack for lunch...we will repeat at least 2 more times on this vacation and again next season.

  • Gary C.

After paying $20 per lobster roll, on an oversized bun with about 5oz of lobster meat in some of the tourist trap areas, my wife and I decided to continue our search for the perfect lobster roll. I went to yelp and read all the great reviews about Easton's. So, we decided to give them a try. The lobster rolls here are a great value at $12 for two rolls. There's a total of about 5oz of lobster meat on normal size rolls. The lobster salad is made simply with a bit of mayo. Many places add celery, dill, tarragon, etc. which covers the delicate taste of the lobster. The clam chowder is also very good here. If you're in the area definitely give Easton's a try.
