Recently went here at noon on a Wednesday. The restaurant was fairly crowded, but the hostess seated me and my companion after a few minutes at a table for four. The noise level was a little loud (conversational noise), but it didn't detract significantly from the dining experience. The waitress promptly asked up about drinks, and brought us each a cup of strong, hot coffee in Valentine's Day-themed mugs. There were a variety of creamer/half-and-half and sugar/sweetener options, three flavors of Smuckers jam/jelly packets, and butter and non-butter packets available. The restaurant had a fairly elegant decor featuring a light brown patterned wallpaper, fancy brown drapes on the few windows, soft lighting (including chandaliers and a stained glass lamp), and seasonal holiday touches, creating a cozy dining atmosphere. I ordered an omelet with cheddar cheese and bacon (made with four eggs) with wheat toast and homefries, while my companion ordered eggs over well with wheat toast and homefries and an order of pancakes. Despite the crowd, the food arrived quickly. The omelet was perfectly prepared with super quality ingredients including crispy, flavorful bacon. The wheat toast was served on thick bread that was nicely buttered. The homefries were well done with ample browning on the edges. The waitress returned several times during the meal to see if we needed anything including coffee refills. The prices were very reasonable. One of the best breakfast meals I've had in Rhode Island in a long time -- great food, great service, and good atmosphere (although slightly noisy and crowded), highly recommended.

I found this place because of Instagram the food looked so good in the pic. I didn't eat inside so I don't know how the service is but I did get the best takeout ever. The quality was just as good as if I ate inside. Fresh hot and delicious. Good size portions for a greT price. Will definitely be back

You really can't go wrong with the English Muffin as it has every breakfast staple you can think of (and then some) and offers them at very fair prices. There are some things about the English Muffin that really seal the deal for me: coffee/muffins while you wait, the cutest assortment of coffee mugs that change with the seasons, and of course, hubcap sized pancakes! Expect a wait, particularly on Sundays following church services. But, outdoor seating is available during the warmer months, and if you find a table open, it's yours!

Big portions for fair prices Lightning quick food service Good food The English Muffin is sort of a Cranstonian idea of a cozy country kitchen-style diner, if I understand it right. With that, there are a lot of holiday-themed decorations throughout the year, sturdy and homey ceramic coffee mugs, and fluffy drapes to match. As you enter, there's an outer waiting area with complimentary coffee service (nice), a breakfast bar with the news or The Today Show on, and table seating for maybe ~65 or so patrons at its max capacity. The portions are sizable and the wait staff is smily-faced and attentive. I like that my coffee mug never sees the bottom. Waits for a table can be very lengthy at the times you'd expect on weekends, but weekday mornings are a good time to come in and get your day started right. There are typically some intriguing specials on the board, but overall, the menu items I've seen aren't inventive - they're generally comfort food. Still, they make sure that healthy substitution options (like egg whites, or peaches instead of hash browns) are available and noted for those who might want to modify the basic offering. Other FYIs: The English Muffin is set back behind Herbs & Angels, and indications are to enter the lot to the right, not left. If you're just picking up food, you can take one of the in & out spaces right there. There's a dual-tier lot out back, and the parking situation can tend to get pretty gnarly with a lot of overgrown SUVs, but there are enough spots if everybody parks right. When you're done, it can be tough to take a left onto Plainfield Pike because you're close to the Comstock Parkway light, so be patient and careful. Recommended for a try if you're in the area.

40 Min to get a seat but that's exspected for late morning on a Sunday...The wait was wourth it cause the food was good and was on the table within 5 min after it was ordered. They kept my Ice tea full and my stomach just as full good place

I've tried to eat at the English Muffin several times, but didn't want to wait in the long lines that erupt on the weekends and holidays. Today I finally popped my breakfast cherry at this place and was a little sad I wasn't going to be waiting in line, because there's a big 'ol plate of pastries in the waiting room. Drats! The food here was above average. My boyfriend dubbed his Eggs Benedict his 3rd favorite of all time. This is quite an honor considering how many egg benedicts we've eaten all over the country. I got the Short Stack breakfast and followed Victoria K's advice and got a grilled english muffin instead of toast. My meal was enormous. The pancakes were the size of the plates and could have been a meal in themselves. My eggs were cooked almost perfectly ( a little runny ) and the bacon and english muffin were delicious. I'm a garlic fiend but even I thought the homefries were overwhelmingly garlicky. You'll have no shortage of food when you eat here, and the service is welcoming and efficient. This would be on my list of the very few above average breakfast joints in Rhode Island. Their food isn't especially creative, but it's still very good.

The English Muffin is one of the top breakfast places in Rhode Island, period. We have eaten here 3 times in the past 10 days and all 3 times the service and food have been awesome! The French Toast, pancakes, omelets, and home fries are delicious. Everything is cooked consistently, well presented, and served piping hot. The service is always friendly and quick, the staff seem to all enjoy their jobs which really reflects on their great performance. Long lines during peak hours but well worth it!

I honestly don't know of too many good brunch spots in RI. I'm a city girl, and RI just doesn't cut it for me. The options here are much more limited. I do, however, really enjoy The English Muffin. Although the restaurant is small and seating is thus very limited, the restaurant offers something I've never seen at any other brunch spot, or other kind of restaurant for that matter... in the waiting area, they have a table set up with free coffee, mini muffins, and other pastries to keep patrons from starving to death while waiting for a table. What an ingenious idea! Also, the staff is friendly and the food is tasty! When given a choice of a bread with your eggs, ask for a GRILLED English muffin... it's buttery, crunchy and delicious! Portions are huge, so don't fill up TOO much on the mini muffins :)

I am completely perplexed by the glowing reviews of this place. We went there for brunch today -- there was a half hour wait which seemed like a great sign. They had some coffee and muffins for those waiting which was nice but the muffins were those wet store-bought ones so I figured I'd wait for the supposedly delicious brunch I was supposed to have. Not so -- everything is very run-of-the-mill here -- you won't find any interesting breakfast inventions. But more importantly, the standards they do make -- eggs, pancakes, bacon -- are simply mediocre. The pancakes looked so good but are obviously made from a box mix; the eggs seemed to be cooked in margarine and the bacon was actually bad (had that game-y pork flavor). I most definitely will not be back to try it again, when there are so many other great places nearby. Who are you people who have been to this place and loved it? Have you never had brunch at Nick's on Broadway in Providence or The Sunnyside in Warren?

Yesssss.. You would think finding someplace where they can competently cook an egg would be an easy thing, well its not. The ancient art of short order cookery has slipped in the past years and finding a quality breakfast place is a thing of beauty. Now.. when I think breakfast.. there are really two animals we are talking about. One is the new, fancy-schmancy, quail egg, polenta with sofrito and ostrich hash kind of thing.. (Nick's on Boradway) which don't get me wrong.. I love.. but then there is good old fashioned diner style breakfast.. and let me tell you brotha.. brom a guy who works as a breakfast/brunch chef on the reg.. these guys are doing it right. So first impression of the English Muffin.. were uggghhh.. there are so many people in line.. but I am partially to blame for this as it was 11 o'clock on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.. no worry.. good breakfast is worth the wait. And this place is cool.. set back off the road a bit on Plainfield Pike.. they have an awesome grassy area in front of the restaurant with half a dozen patio tables set up in the summer.. and a decent size inside dining area with tables, booths and a breakfast counter area. So after about a 30 minute wait lounging on a bench out on the sun we got an outside table and sat down to order. Service outside was a tad slow, but the place was jammed and I was in no hurry.. it's Sunday.. time to relax. On the menu is what you would expect.. a bunch of egg/meat combos, some breakfast sandwiches, waffles pancakes and french toast.. along with a bunch of lunch options which I didn't even glance at. After getting some drinks and hearing the specials I went with the steak and protabella omelet (special).. it was a tough call as they had pumpkin pecan pancakes as well.. but I figured I got all fall to eat pumpkin. I passed on the homefries and got a side of corned beef hash instead.. certifiable corned beef junky here. Eggs and bacon and a benny we're also ordered at the table. Food came out quick and I was grinning from ear to ear. Huge omelet.. I mean huge. I am a big guy who can put down some food.. but this baby was packed with steak and mushrooms. Delicious. And the hash was home made.. and had a nice crust, the way hash should. Everyone was smiles around the table. Food was good, service was good and outside seating in the summer to boot. Definitely check this place out, even though it will only mean a longer wait for me next time.

Delicious diner-style breakfast... At noon. Service was prompt, place appeared clean, parking ample. Had hash & eggs... Was gonna share a waffle but the waitress had the best idea of getting 1/2 waffle & 1 pancake. Brilliant! I got to try it all! Corned beef hash was yummy, the poached eggs where done just right. Waffle was crispy. However, pancake was a little chewy so would recommend the waffles or French toast. Gotta have the poached eggs! Will def come again :)

Best breakfast spot I have found in RI. Just to bad I found it only one week before I leave Newport.. Breakfast was great portions were huge ordered the short stack and the pancakes were size of the plate and were tasty... went back the next day and ordered french toast also was great. . I have nothing bad to say about this place would recommend it to everyone.

Really good egg white omlete! The other stuff folks around me got looked & smelled wonderful. Love the seasonal decor & touches - homey

Love the muff! Great food but too many people agree since weekend waits are long. Worth the wait.

  • Gina R.

LOVE this place! The food is excellent - the breakfast dishes are great with tons of extras like mini-pastry, real, hot home fries, baked cinnamon apples... I went here on Mother's Day for the first time at lunchtime. I had a classic salad with chicken salad on top. It was enough to feed 3 people with tons of toppings - not skimpy on the veggies and meat. The only problem is that there's usually a pretty long wait for breakfast, but if you can hold out 30-45 minutes, it's the best place in town.

Incredible eggs Benedict. Pancakes bigger than your face. Freshly ground coffee in festive mugs. Oh my! For about $25 two of us were served three massive plates of food and bottomless coffee, and all of it was delicious. Not only were the pancakes huge, but they were fluffy and sweet, as was the french toast. Neither hardly needed any syrup or butter; they were pretty much perfect on their own. Best eggs Benedict I've ever had. The eggs were perfectly cooked atop buttery, grilled English muffins with Canadian bacon and smothered in fresh hollandaise. I was thankful to be automatically provided with a steak knife, because it was much needed for cutting off even bites to get a little bit of everything. Their bacon here is also really good, and has a nice smokey flavor. The only thing that didn't amaze me here were the homefries. They were a little bit underseasoned and boring, but that's what ketchup is for, right? The service is super quick and attentive. This place rocks at banging out plates. The manager/owner is always walking around with a pot of coffee, making sure that all of the tables are happy. The place is a bit small, but they get the tables turned over quickly so that you don't have to wait more than 10-15 minutes, and there's a lot of comfortable seating in the waiting area. I almost never comment on restrooms, but theirs are so pretty and clean that I had to give them a mention. They're spacious, cutely decorated, and smell awesome. 5/5 stars all around. Will definitely be returning.

Absolutely delicious!!!! The portions are huge and the wait staff was extremely friendly. I had the baked stuffed haddock and it was amazing to say the least, I've heard all good things and they were all correct!! I definitely recommend this place for good home cooked comfort food!!

We stopped at The English Muffin for an early Sunday morning breakfast, but we weren't alone! There were plenty of people waiting to get in. There were free coffee and pastries for those who were waiting for a table. We were seated quickly and our waitress came right over. We decided to share the Breakfast for Two, which was awesome. It came with eggs, bacon, sausage, delicious hash browns, pancakes and French toast. We ordered blueberries and whipped cream on top, which sealed the deal. Although the breakfast menu may seem kind of basic, check out the specials menu. I am kicking myself for not ordering the pumpkin pecan pancakes. Ah well, there is always next time.

The English Muffin is a great breakfast place! It's so cute and what's the word I'm looking for "quaint" it's like a comfy country kitchen. The food is delish. The only downside is it's small so there's almost always bound to be a wait. But it's good so it's worth it!

After being ignored and standing at the host stand for 10 minutes I sat myself at the bar. Lindsay promptly took my drink order and I got coffee and grapefruit juice. The coffee was very weak and watery but the grapefruit juice was tasty. I ordered the eggs Benedict Florentine and a side of bacon. Everything came out about 10 minutes after I ordered. The bacon was good, the Hollandaise was a little too buttery and the spinach had definitely been previously frozen. The home fries were a little mushy but had good flavor. My total bill for just myself was just under $20. Nothing special here, and a bit overpriced for what it is. To be a good breakfast spot at least have a decent strong cup of coffee. I probably won't be back.

Had breakfast here yesterday morning. There was a wait when we got there but we opted to sit at the counter instead of a table so we didn't wait at all. Service was friendly and prompt - coffee refills were a bit slow, I had to ask for it but the coffee itself wasn't bad. I ordered the eggs Benedict which was very good and my gf ordered an egg/sausage on a bagel sandwich. Both came with a hefty side of home fries but they were a bit mushy for my liking. Overall - I liked it here and would return. As we approached 11am, the wait got longer - which is never a bad sign for a restaurant.

My boyfriend and I love it here for breakfast. We haven't been in a while, but that's mostly because we think we burned it out for ourselves. If you arrive on a weekend morning between 9 and 11-ish, you WILL wait but it is worth it. The dining area is one huge open room, which means it can get very loud. It never really bothers me though. I always look forward to seeing the seasonal decor - it's so cute! The service is usually nice, but we have gotten a couple waitresses who can be kind of rude and short. Not that I'm looking to have a full conversation with my waitress, but a little bit of kindness goes a long way. The food can be a little pricey, but the portions are huge and the food is great. I've never been disappointed! I always get the corned beef hash breakfast because I am a creature of habit. Half of the big plate is covered with crispy corned beef hash, not some little side plate. That's what I like to see. Overall, it's worth the wait for a nice location and big portions!

Amazing place ... We came here on a whim , just driving and said what's in Johnston lol ... Huge portions , great prices and really good service . we watched a lot of food walk by us coming out of the kitchen and my wife turned to me and said five star all day and we are 100% coming back here for lunch next week ( cause she saw a buffalo salad the size of her head on a plate that was overflowing ) . I Dont rate five stars on many places but this is definitely one of them .

I like this place. It's always crowded when I go, but not so bad that I can't get seated in a reasonable amount of time. The food is good, the coffee is decent, and the ambiance is pleasant. Waitstaff is friendly even when busy. I've only had breakfast, so I can't comment on the lunch options.

  • J R.

One of the best places for your traditional, awesome, fresh breakfast. aka This is the place to get your eggs sunny side up, side of bacon, and some toast. For me, the more traditional the dish, the better for english muffin. Eggs are always perfect, hash is amazing, coffee is good, etc. Can't go wrong one bit. Nice little cozy atmosphere too. Keep it up, love it.

Although the restaurant is a few years old the interior looks brand new and the place is very clean. I have had both breakfast and lunch here but not on weekends ( so I've never had to wait for seating). At both meals the food was prepared as requested , served with ample portions, and presented neatly on the plate (food presentation does matter). They serve New England coffee both regular and flavored variety. Each time I visited the servers have been friendly and have given helpful advice on the menu choices. Once I went and the coffee was very bitter but the server "without an attitude" quickly got me a new cup. The prices were reasonable too.

This is my favorite breakfast place in Rhode Island. The service is excellent and it is baby friendly! I love the blueberry pancakes, enlgish muffins and the homefries. I also suggest the ice coffee. The food and drinks always come out quickly. We got take out dinner once and it was only okay, I definitely prefer breakfast and lunch. They have great specials each day like chunky monkey pancakes and different omlettes. We will probably continue to dine here at least once a week.

Egg and cheese on a plain bagel with a side of homefries..mmmm. The English Muffin is my new favorite breakfast place. Usually when ordering out, the portions tend to be slightly smaller than if you went for a sit down mean inside a restaurant. Not at the English Muffin! :) The portion was large and the food was hot and delicious. I will definitely come here more often and let all my friends know its the place to be for a great breakfast. Check this place out!

Best breakfast place ever. Big portions, reasonably priced, beautiful atmosphere and is always well decorated. Waitresses are extremely friendly. It us always busy there but I have never had to wait more than 15-20 minutes for a table.

Great service, great food, and extremely budget friendly. My wife and I live on the Eastside of Prov and will gladly drive back to try The English Muffin again. I had great clam chowder and a delicious bacon grilled cheese, tasted like the way my mom used to make them for me. My wife had a giant Caesar salad with perfectly cooked grilled chicken. Keep it up English Muffin and you will become a destination. Also lots of parking. I didn't finish my clam chowder and our waitress was sincerely worried that I didn't like it, when the most junior of employees of a business care that much about customer satisfaction it tells me they really care about people walking away happy.

This little nook on Plainfield Pike has become a regular breakfast spot for my wife and me. While the wait staff is at best somewhat polite, the food makes up for it. They have a seasonal pumpkin spice coffee and it is one of the best I have had. The portions are huge. The first time I went there I ordered a stack of 3 pancakes. Little did I know that their pancakes take up the entire plate! They are huge! The atmosphere has a real cozy feel to it. And there is an area where you can snack on muffins while you wait to be seated. It's too bad that every time I have come here, the waitresses have attitudes. Almost snotty like attitudes that I could really do without early in the morning before I have had my coffee. But if you're willing to over look that, the food is really good. My review seems to coincide with the other reviews for this restaurant. Good food and sub par wait staff.

I have been many places for a good hearty breakfast, but this by far is one of the best in the area. The English Muffin is located in Johnston, RI, just a bit back from the main street. You start by seeing a cozy looking eatery that has outdoor seating and a line around the corner. Don't be discouraged by the long wait times because it's worth the wait. Plus, they provide you with complimentary snacks and coffee while you wait. This is a great bonus in my opinion because I cannot live without my coffee. It also gives you some time to hang out and chat with other patrons - all of whom are unusually friendly given that they're waiting in a long line and probably hungry. Definitely a smart strategy to offer complimentary goodies during the wait. The menu is like any breakfast joint with waffles, pancakes, eggs, and such. I tried most of the things here and I haven't found anything I didn't love. The pancakes are especially light and fluffy, guaranteed to have you savoring every bite. I have to warn you though if you get the platter of ultimate goodness you won't be able to finish it. I ordered it thinking it would be like the "little bit of everything" combo meals you'd see at a place like Denny's or Bickfords. Wrong. I ended up with more food than I've ever seen in a single order. And all of it was delicious. Best of all, the price won't break the bank. It's cheaper than those mainstream chains like Denny's and Bickfords. Plus, the staff is always been kind and courteous. And they really know how to handle a packed place without skipping a beat. After a few visits, I'm sure you will get to know everyone of them. You can't beat the experience here. It starts when you walk in and are greeted by savory smells and free goodies, and continues with a friendly, professional staff and great food at a great price. You can't go wrong with breakfast at the English Muffin.

The food was great! I had an omelet and it was great. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star was because the service was ok. I'm not sure if they are kid friendly because I was getting looks because of my loud 2 year old mostly from what look like the owner of the place. It seemed like a place all the seniors went to. Other than that we enjoyed the food.

Very good food for a decent price. Portions are large and everything came as ordered as it should be. Had a 15min wait but they provide complimentary mini muffins, cookies, and coffee while you wait. There is no kids menu but prices are good enough so your not buying your 6yr old an 8$ meal. It was $4.25 for 2-12inch chocolate chip pancakes so that works for the kids.

Once you walk into the door, you realize this is the place to be. The place was PACKED on a Sunday morning. Luckily, we were seated at the counter within 20 minutes. When I sat down, I immediately noticed the Valentine's Day jars holding jam, butter and half & half. In addition, they had special V-Day coffee mugs! Such a great idea! I ordered the Eggs Florentine. It came with spinach and poached eggs on a buttered English Muffin with homefries. This was yum! The spinach could have been seasoned a bit to bring out more flavor, but overall it was great. My friend ordered a short stack of blueberry pancakes. The short stack was served with eggs, homefries and toast. My friend was unable to finish his portion as well. This place is awesome and if I ever went back to Rhode Island, I would go again! The portions are huge, so if you're a small eater you may want to share!

My sister and I have this habit of driving around our parents (and recently our youngest sister) to their marathon races. Invariably, with the races starting in the morning- it leaves my sister and I ample time and opportunity to search for the best breakfast in whatever town we find ourselves in. The English Muffin is a cute little restaurant, and we loved the decor and ambience. Upon arrival, we were quickly seated. Our waitress was pleasant and patient. The food was phenomenal! I had the Eggs Bendedict, and my sister had the french toast. We came on Mother's Day, so they were giving out flowers to the moms and gave everyone these tasty free pastries.

A personal favorite, I can't believe I've yet to give them a review. The amount of food they give for their prices is incredible. Service is always quick and friendly. They always have new coffee flavors each day that are delicious. Banana pancakes are delish!

This would have received five stars all day long if I were rating just the food, but I'm not. The hostess that greeted us had s terrible attitude, very unwelcoming. Their was also a long wait, which I don't mind but when a seat opened up at the bar and we took it she approached us and stated we needed to tell her so she could take us off the list. I had seriously planned on it, my butt hadn't even hit the chair! There are ways to speak to customers that do not make them feel as though they were being disciplined. I have worked in the restaurant business for many years, a hostess is the first face you that greats you, care should be made when selecting this individual.

Really good food, I had pancake, eggs, bacon and toast (!). Portions too large to finish. The placed was packed on a weekday around 10:30 a.m. We had to sit at the counter, which was fine. The waitress had kind of an attitude, which is why it's losing one star from moi. Would definitely go back if in the area.

Visited with a friend for a pre-bridal brunch. Atmosphere and Service: The decor is county-charming, the hostess warm and welcoming, the specials, rustic yet inventive. The cranberry and walnut pancakes, for example, sounded both delicious and seasonally appropriate, and will be on my list for next time. There is ample seating in the dining area, a roomy bar, and a spacious outdoor dining area that doubles as the perfect spot to wait with a complimentary cup of coffee until your table is ready. Our waitress was attentive. Coffee refills were slow. Food: everything that came out of the kitchen looked and smelled delicious. Someone came dangerously close to losing their gigantic chocolate chip pancake when it happened to pass by our table! We both opted for omelettes, home fries, and toast. I chose egg whites. It was probably one of the best omelette I've had in some time. Light, thin, and not the least bit greasy from the griddle. My bacon was perfectly crispy, and my toast was, well, toasted. The home fries were soggy; they may have been better if ordered well done. Overall, I felt that the portions and quality were consistent with the pricing, which is reasonable. The only exception, to me, was the price of the fruit cup, which, at $4.99, should have been larger or contained something other than diced melon and one strawberry. Overall, I enjoyed The English Muffin. It's a cute, local place that nicely bridges the gap between greasy spoon and classier brunch (both of which are near and dear to my heart...but not my mom's). I'll be back, but I'll skip the home fries and fruit!

Let this be a note that I have never eaten at this restaurant, I have only ever done take out which is what my opinion is based on. That being said, their customer service lacks severely in this department. I keep going back because the food is good and it used to be cheap, but somehow I end up paying more and more each time. Several months ago I ordered a Caesar salad to go which cost me $9. No chicken, no protein, just lettuce and dressing. I hardly think $9 is reasonable. I have had orders often been wrong or partly forgotten only to get back to work disappointed without time to go back and have it fixed (an hour break doesn't leave room for error). When I have called to complain a promise of free food next time is given, but never ever followed through (and myself and coworkers order often). This last time was ridiculous. I called in an order for 2 BLTs and a grilled cheese and was told 10-15 minutes. Perfect, no problem. My coworker was gone over an hour waiting for our meals to be cooked (again, we only get an hour to actually eat our food let alone wait for it). The two stars are only based on the food, which is usually good. The lacking 3 additional stars are for poor customer service practices.

Went for a Sunday morning breakfast as suggested by my fellow yelpers. There was a wait, and actually people continued to come and wait and we watched the line grow, hoping that this was a good sign that breakfast would meet our ever high expectations. We never went inside, as we snagged one of the last open tables outside. And the food.. was... GOOD. Wow. Breakfast was great! Great coffee, great home fries, perfect eggs, (eggs bene was spot on!), generous portions, fluffy waffles, delicious bacon, great service. Go. It's worth the wait.

I found this fantastic breakfast place when my son and I headed out to breakfast but didn't know where to go. I did what I always do and that's turn to Yelp. The English Muffin is highly rated and now I know why. It was a weekday but this place was hopping! I knew it was going to be good when I saw that they actually have a lot for overflow parking - and it was filling up on a Tuesday morning! After having truly the best pumpkin pancake I have ever had, I understood why. The food is plentiful, prices competitive and everything is made to order. The specials are interesting and delicious. There's a wonderful outside seating area (a blessing with the crowd that this place brings in). It's behind another business so watch for the signs. There's plenty of parking in an area below and behind the paved parking area. Go while they are still serving pumpkin pancakes!

I've only had the eggs florentine here because how can I order anything else if the have eggs florentine on the menu?!?! It's like eggs Benedict except with the horrible swine/pork/ham/nastiness. Instead they use spinach. Ummmmm so good!! I've only sat at the counter to eat and service was great every time I've gone. This place is very popular and busy almost always.

Heard so much about this place and looked so forward to it, was such a disappointment. Didn't have to wait to be seated so that was a Plus and about the best thing Lol. The place and decor was nice and clean and pleasant. The food was just average along with the service. My friend had the eggs Benedict and the sauce was just plain and almost had to much butter. I had there number 9 the beacon was still soft and floppy which isn't how I like it. The pancakes where huge as others have said but they weren't fluffy and just average taste if at best. If u dont like it noisy then dont comehere because it can get pretty loud in there. We won't be rushing back here anytime soon.

Breakfast joint! We came here for breakfast this morning and the wait was about 30-40 minutes which wasn't a big deal as the weather was quite warm for December 22! We were seated and a few minutes later our drink order was taken. We didn't know about the specials on the wall until after we ordered so needless to say we ordered straight from the menu. I had the breakfast sandwich which was ok. The waitress was kind of stone face and not very personable and made it seem like she wasn't used to the place being so busy! I'm not a huge breakfast fan so it was ok for what it was.

A very quaint bistro-like breakfast/brunch place. Very impressed with the fact that they allowed us to be seated and served even though it was 10 minutes from closing time. The menu is packed full of pancakes, waffles, sandwiches and salads. The prices are very reasonable and the quality is superb. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.. I rushed to make a menu selection out of politeness to the staff, but I will definitely be going back to check out their other menu selections

Sat at the bar tonight as I was flying solo. Ordered a glass of iced tea and was brought a bottled tea, which may be OK for this area but in my book it's disgusting. Asked for a glass of brewed tea and as the young girl takes my bottled tea away, I catch a roll of the eyes to another patron with an immediate glance at me from the patron. That made me feel awesome. The other thing that made me feel awesome was eating my dinner with an empty glass the entire way through. They weren't busy, in fact the young waitress had plenty of time checking her phone and replying to text messages on her phone that sat under the bar just one seat to my left. The food was awesome and it really always is. I should have just cooked fish and chips at the house tonight, so much for getting "served" at a restaurant right. Never got the extra side of tarter sauce I needed as I was never asked if I needed anything. Had to ask for another glass of tea at the end of my meal. When the check came, she had no problem coming back and checking if I sat my credit card down yet. Leaving a tip for service was difficult. Left 15% and not 1% of it was deserved. I won't go back just because of the front of the house. I will order for pick up only!!!

Have been here twice and sure to go back. First time there I shared the breakfast for two, and it was excellent and plenty of food for two people. the next time there ordered an omelette and my girlfriend got the waffles with hot apples on top. Both were very good. Next time will def get the breakfast for two again, can't beat the value and quality.

4 stars. again, another rent favorite here, to me, its alright. they have quite the variety of offerings. they also do not have their own soda fountain and will only serve you in 20 oz bottles. odd, but you know what? they are also byob, so extra stars for that. but you know what?? thats odd as this is a breakfast place. im so confused. they do dinner as well as breakfast. nothing wrong there yelpers. prices are affordable too. the fish and chips i had was made fresh on site, not some crappie frozen puck or anything. ive also had their breakfasts, much better than some of the other RI haunts they have taken me too. try it out, you might find a new favorite.

Breakfasts are a pretty simple delivery. Yesterday I went to the English Muffin and the place was nut's meaning it was a 45 min wait. "for eggs" But it was very tasty. Pretty good home fries, eggs were over light perfect with corned beef hash it was the canned variety but was done crusty. They have a waiting ares with coffee while you wait and even in the cold, people waited for a table as we left. Making any interesting breakfast is fun but all I want is KISS home fries and eggs. simple enough to make at home. We have been there several times but the wait is longer and longer. That's a good thing.

A nice, clean, little place for lunch. Generous servings of lightly battered fish and calamari, crispy fries and slightly sweet slaw. The New England chowder was piping hot, thick but not creamy. Service was top notch. I'll be back!

Amazing breakfasts. They have hedonistic fatty versions for hubby and healthy options for those of us trying to watch our girlish figures. Great service. The place gets busy, so it is a nice touch that they have coffee and pastries for those waiting for their tables. Someone told me that this is a female-run establishment . I am not surprised, this place is awesome. We'll be back for sure!

While waiting outside, the fresh smell of BACON & waffles are waffling thru the air on the patio. There's a bird whistling a happy tune while the patrons come in and out of this small red brick building. When you cross the threshold to the other side, you are greeted the the diner atmosphere to the smell of fresh bacon. Freshly squeezed OJ & lemonade are on the menu w/ the freshest ingredients known to man kind.. Hence due to the caption on the back of the menu with the smell of waffle & bacon waffling around my senses. -Did I mention the smell of bacon? ..probably Ooh three or four times already. That's how good it smells while tantalizing my sense of smell. I can't wait to get in the door to the kingdom that's is The English Muffin

Extremely adorable and very likable place! They know they have people waiting to get in, and the coffee and muffins at the front make waiting almost enjoyable. The owners and employees clearly love where they work and the place was seasonally decorated. All the food was super delicious!! I had a platter that included french toast, eggs, and hashbrowns. I am pretty much well known to like big portions (especially breakfast foods!), but even I couldn't tame these platters!

Great food, huge portions, this is one of the best breakfast places to go around Johnston I love the atmosphere and the food is great. But the best part is it won't cost you an arm and a leg
