I like this place, we go every Sunday morning for coffee and bagel, my biggest complaint is how packed the place get and I can't get the couch to myself. hehe New England coffee is what they serve, i like it well enough, the food and pastries are nice too, exactly what I would expect from a coffee joint. The girls are always friendly but I suspect their attitude is in direct relation with how nice you are to them. Say please, thank you and tip :)

What can I say about this place. They serve coffee which is okay at best. Make sure you have a few extra minutes when ordering because the service is horrible and painfully slow. This could really be a great place, but the high school kids working behind the counter are more concerned with their FB status then you order. I'm a bit of an ice coffee connoisseur and do no think very highly of this ice coffee. Because Ice coffee is double brewed, if you start with bad coffee it only gets worse. That was the case with this ice coffee. The coffee was very acid and extremely bitter. Not to mention the ice cubes were small and the ice coffee was at room temp, which made it instantly watery. They have Wi-Fi which is nice but so do lots of other great coffee places. Conclusion: If you need coffee and are in the area I would say this will work. I would rather wait 5 mins for a Dunkin Donuts or just grab a Red Bull.

For eight years I have been coming to Brewed Awakenings to get coffee. It has always been the same quality cup, hot, fresh and a great selection ready at all hours of the day. The atmosphere has changed over the years, they have remodeled the interior to include a warm yellow pastel paint and rich mahogany colored wood scheme. The staff is friendly and courteous and you can easily get to know all their names as they will yours. After a long day of work or just about anything, it is extremely pleasant to drive into town and get a cup of coffee that I know will just be top notch. It's around $1.75 for a small cup, I can assure you it's quite good. Just stop on by one day and I don't think you'll go anywhere else.

I love the Old Brew in Johnston, it's cozy and warm and the service is great. The coffee is excellent and it's a favorite meeting place for a weekend cup of coffee. So why only 4 stars.......Old Brew gets 5, the new Brew in Johnston is SSSLLLLOOOWWW! I have been about a dozen times and the young staff, while courteous, kind of move around like they are not quite sure why they are there or what they should do. Good thing the Old Brew is just down the street.

I really want to like this place. It holds a lot of nostalgia for me. I just can't get past how awful it is. Every time I go there I hope for the best and receive the worst. The service is awful. There's one good cashier there, and he's just a part time high school student. Everyone else will give you attitude and is extremely unhelpful. Then you wait. It has taken me no less than 15 minutes to get a latte, but it has taken me up to forty-five. And this is with no line. There was even an occasion where I was waiting on a salad (yes - a SALAD) for half an hour while one girl was behind the counter and two others sat next to me texting, still in uniform. I had to remind the girl three times. Don't even get me started on the espresso. They pre-grind into their espresso dosers, which basically means your ground coffee is sitting in the open for hours and hours, leaking all the oils that make espresso tasty and absorbing all the weird flavors that make it awful. Then they steam your milk to at LEAST 190, which is 30 degrees past scalding, and yet still can't manage to aerate properly and get ANY texture or foam into it. Just awful. I'll hold on to my high school memories with this one, because I just can't bring myself to go back anymore.

My favorite coffee place. Great coffee, staff is usually friendly. It's not unusual to see the owner come and go in a given day which is nice to see. Food is just ok. Their sandwiches/wraps are really nothing to write home about. I could make them at home for 1/16th the price. The atmosphere is comfortable with plush chairs to sit and read or tables to study.

  • Alexandria C.

I will only give Brewed 3/5 stars because I actually do prefer their coffee over any chains around here. And they have some interesting flavors. Food is okay, however they raised the prices and removed the side of chips, now stating you have to pay $0.50 for the chips. I mean, I'll pay for the $0.50, but really? Also, depending on which one you go to, the crowd can get quite young and annoying. Overall nice place, nice staff.

I have to downgrade my experience at Brewed Awakenings since my last post. Flat panel TV's have been hung all around the gathering space and TV news is blasting *constantly*. They used to play music and it was casual. If you ask to have the TV turned off, you're told no. Considering taking my group of regulars that meets there once a week and finding another venue.

I love their iced coffee. I've been to this location several times and the coffee is consistent. I can't rate the pastries, cakes, or sandwiches because I haven't tried them. The coffee though, it's great!

  • Brittany K.

Their coffee is the standard New England Coffee Company fare. Which is better than a Dunk brew, but nothing to get excited about. The prices are a little steep for the brand of coffee, but what I think we are paying for are the big, squashy arm chairs. Fun Fact: Brewed carries Cheesecake Factory cheesecake. If you fancy yourself some name-brand cheesecake, and don't want to pay for parking. This is the place to go.

I was so excited to have gotten off on the wrong exit to the situate art festival to find Brewed Awakenings. I was then really bummed that I had lost my way once I received my coffee and lack of service. I ordered a carmel latte with soy and my friend ordered a carmel mocha latte. The employee at the register appeared to be new, which is cool, I get learning new things but then another "experienced" employee came over to help her ring our order in and that was not too successful. Three times they asked me my order and still she had to come back over while making my coffee to ask me what I had ordered. Two other people before me received their coffee and once I received mine, it still was not what I ordered. My friend had to wait for 4 other people to get their coffees before hers and she also did not receive what she ordered. The cinnamon rolls we ordered for the kids were pretty hard as well. Not too pleased with Brewed Awakenings this time, but will give it another chance when I can, too many people swear by it for me not to think maybe this was a off day for them.....

Love the coffee, bagels, and baked goods. I had lattes a couple times which I did not love as much so now I just stick to iced coffee -- I like the Kona blend and Snickerdoodle, although I need to try more. Service is very friendly if not always quick, although to be fair the last couple times I've been they've been slammed on a Saturday morning and training new baristas. Still, does it really take that long to toast a bagel? Haven't tried their sandwiches or more elaborate food offerings but may sometime if I have time. Overall one of my favorite places to get a cup of coffee.

Cozy seating, friendly staff, GREAT coffee. Interesting variety of flavors and good selection of baked goods (& Cheesecake Factory cheesecake!)

The new Brewed's is decent and I'll base my review on this location, not the other, smaller one. Inside Brewed's was pretty nice and cozy with a fire place, a few flat screen tv's, and an ample supply of newspapers and mags. I got the hot chocolate. It was tasty but pricey. All of their drinks were somewhat pricey and surprised me, comparable to Starbucks prices. Not sure if I would come here again or not, but I suppose it's worth a try if you are in the area.

Good Coffee. Love the thanksgiving sandwich on cranberry pecan bread

Good food, average coffee, mostly rude service. Prices higher than competition, but fair. Would visit more frequently if service was better.

OK. I work in Johnston and have been going to Brewed since 2006. Better than Dunkin, as pricey as Starbucks. I like the iced coffee; HOWEVER, EVERYTIME I ORDER A SANDWICH--(very simple btw....ham, chz, L/T/Mayo, wheat toast) they can't seem to get it right. Whether they put mustard instead of mayo, (or nothing at all!), skip the lett/tom, don't toast the bread, or like the last two I have gotten, w/o the cheese at all. Today was the last day I will get a sandwich from there. As an aside, b/c I have such a history with my Brewed sandwich misfortune, I make it a point to go inside so I can monitor the order (pathetic), and today, I had to go to drive-thru b/c there was no parking anywhere in the lot. And I pulled away with a terrible sandwich. I concur about the teenagers working, as they are more concerned with their FB status than what they are actually suppossed to be doing. That being said, I have also had the "veterans" of brewed get it wrong also. Humans make mistakes.....but cmon!

  • Rich B.

I tried it for the first time today with a buddy of mine for a quick bite to eat before our next meeting. I had heard good things, but usually want to try myself before I assume things! lol I had expected Starbucks prices to go along with the cozy Starbucks feel. I was VERY wrong. The prices are very reasonable. When I get an iced coffee and coffee cake at Starbucks it's $7. Today I got a medium iced coffee and a slice of the apple coffee cake for $4.89. I was blown away! The coffee cake was so damn good. Almost a little too rich, but I had a sweet tooth and it was perfect. The iced coffee again, I was so groomed for Starbucks where you ask "Milk and 3 sugars" and they reply with "The cream and sugar is over there...you have to do it yourself...." When the girl behind the counter said she'll be more then happy to do it with a smile on her face, it made the experience that much better. The coffee is delicious BTW!! lol

Definitely a nice spot to get work done without a lot if distractions.. unless you're easily distracted by eavesdropping on peoples conversations... Which I am! ;)

    (4)
  • L G.

Best iced chai around. Bagels are fresh, and easy spot to drop into for lunch. Relaxed and comfy areas to sit and enjoy your coffee or lunch. The prices of coffee are what you would expect for a little, higher end coffee shop. They have free wi-fi, always a fan of that!

  • Katelyn P.

I have mixed feelings about this place. When I first walked in, I was in love. A great place to work, meet with friends, or just read a book. Lots of space and many options for seating: high tables, low tables, couches, etc. Free wi-fi and convenient parking add up to 5-stars for atmosphere. The food is pretty tasty too. But... Brewed Awakenings is lacking in the coffee-shop department. I've gotten 4 different coffee/espresso drinks and I was disappointed every time. Nothing was horribly awful, but nothing was decently good either. If you're not picky about your espresso drinks, then this is the place for you. But the baristas seem inept when it comes to decent foam and my ice-blended mocha tasted like Hershey's syrup mixed with crushed ice. Disappointing... this place has a lot of potential.

    (2)
  • Casey J.

The lattes and coffees are pretty swell. They have a lot of options and flavors. There is ample seating in this place so if you are looking for a local coffee shop to do some work (they have free wifi) than this is a good place. There is always an interesting mix of people, so if nothing else you could sit for a minute and people-watch. I have never had the food there, but they seem to have a lot of options.

Best coffee ever.... trust me. Snickerdoodle!!!

  • Barry N.

Brewed is the only reason to go out of your way and plan a special trip to Johnston. Since I was old enough to appreciate coffee, Brewed has been, by far, my favorite coffee shop. I've had a whole lot of different drinks there and enjoyed all of them, but they have the best vanilla iced chai in the state. Be sure to try that, if you're a chai fan! The service is kind of mediocre, but it's always with a smile. I don't expect much else.

  • Monika N.

Can't say enough good stuff about this place. Great coffee selection with soy, almond milk, and a variety of flavors. Great pastry selection (non vegan), and sandwiches for both breakfast and lunch. The service is helpful and friendly, and the orders come out quick. The recently remodeled the interior and there is plenty of space and seating for couples and larger groups. They have high chairs for kiddos, too. Prices are reasonable and competitive. The interior is cute, minimalist, not too busy but warm and welcoming. They have outdoor seating and public restrooms. No booze, though, and no table side service. If they make a mistake on your order, they fix it right away. All in all, this is one of my favorite coffee shops. My personal favorite is the sugar free soy chai - come check out Brewed, you won't be disappointed!!

  • David S.

I love Brewed, and the only reason this review is getting two stars instead of one is because I am a regular at the Cranston & Warwick locations. There was no line, so we had our order taken right away; a medium black iced coffee and medium unsweetened iced tea. Stepped to the side and the next three people in line were served before any of the baristas figured out that our order hadn't been filled. To top it all off, both drinks were warm. Thanks, Johnston, but I'll be sticking to the other locations. Oof.

  • Sofyan S.

I liked the place and the space there, but the coffee itself was average. I will do it again for sure. Better than Dunken, cheaper than Starbucs, so it is Ideal

Great coffee, tea, and treats!! I absolutely love the interior design and decor as well. It's the perfect place to do homework, meet up with friends, or just chill.

Love this place! A great environment for relaxing or getting a little work done. The people working there are so nice and very helpful. The food is delicious and the coffee is amazing!

The coffee is great. I give it four stars for the coffee and the staff. The staff is friendly and fast. The food... not so great. Breakfast is okay. But the sandwiches suck. Don't go for lunch!

  • Albert S.

Came here for a quick coffee and a bagel. The service was fantastic. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I felt like I was being welcomed into someone's home for breakfast. The bagel was very tasty. Perfectly toasted with ample cream cheese. My friend had a toasted pumpkin muffin which could have been toasted a little more. The butter was plopped on and not melted or even used to toast the muffin. He did enjoy it otherwise. Ok now to the coffee. I understand that hot coffee should be hot, and iced be cold. My hot French vanilla was extremely hot to the point where I could not drink it for about 10 minutes. I burnt my tongue on the first sip and had to wait. It also tasted terrible. My friend had the pumpkin iced coffee and said it was terrible as well. I have tried some of their iced teas and they are very good. I would be back for the food/iced teas, but not the coffee.

I love to come hang out here when I need to study. The recent renovations are beautiful and it's very comfortable and not too loud. The vanilla chai is amazingly delicious, and so is the frozen mocha. However, their coffee/espresso drinks just really suck. I ordered an iced cappuccino and was met with, "you mean, a latte?" Why do you have both on the menu when they're allegedly the same thing? Beats me. Whatever it was, I ordered it once with regular sugar and it was gross. I ordered it a second time with extra sugar and it was still gross. I guess the baristas here just suck. I've had "iced cappuccino" at the other Johnston Brewed and at many other coffee shops and it doesn't taste like it does here. I might not be so sour about it if they weren't charging me so much for beverages. If I'm paying $4-5, I want quality! The sandwiches and pastry are delicious. I could camp out here all day and eat their thanksgiving sandwich on rye and pistachio muffins with a giant cup of iced chai. Do something about the crappy espresso and you'll earn your four stars, Brewed!

This is my least hated of the Brewed shops. Once upon a time Brewed and my friends had a magical, magical love. We gravitated there every sunday and sipped and snacked and laughed our asses off until closing at 10. Then the hours started getting funky. Then one opened in Cranston. This spot was always jamming. Now, since expansion number 2 (supposedly its only #2) it seems sort of empty inside. The expansion certainly did not help them with their kitchen processes as now certain things are made in hidden areas, forgotten back there, etc. They definitely serve/brew New England coffee, and really its pretty generic. Their espresso is good, very earthy flavor and I whole heartedly recommend getting a shot of it in your coffee to boost it to a better standard.

    (4)
  • Lou G.

The service wasn't the greatest, but the food was pretty good. Simple breakfast food, good coffee. I will say, it's a little disorganized in there. We ordered for 3 people, drink and coffee. Everything came out at different times, and in between other customers orders. It was a little tough, especially since I had not had my coffee yet (obviously). All in all, I would go back though. I mean, if you are looking for a coffee and something quick to eat, it beats the hell out of greasy Dunkin Donuts.

  • Zuzie S.

I was very disappointed when I came here. The layout is pleasant , but other than a clean bathroom, nothing else impressed me. I came in about 5 p.m., so I didn't expect a great pastry selection and chose a bran muffin. I asked them to heat it and give me butter with it. The initial service was okay, nothing special. They charged me extra for butter, which surprised me, and when I asked when to pick it up, the person just pointed, no words. The muffin wasn't heated, and I watched the young man who had it, trying to slab butter on it, this breaking it into pieces. I should have refused it, but I was exhausted and in no mood for discussion. I had to get a knife and fork to eat it, and scrape off the huge (and I mean huge) glob of butter that was clinging to one piece. It tasted like oleo, so I returned and asked if he had given me real butter. No answer, just a grunt...unh...meaning yes. Forward to the finish, when I went up to the counter and asked if they could just heat up my coffee a with a bit more. NO. Have to buy another coffee. Needless to say, I'll never return there again.

  • Lizz W.

I like the size and layout of the space a lot, very functional and nicely decorated. I like the free wifi offered and the amount of space to actually get a seat, chill and do homework. I like the amount of flavors offered for both hot and cold coffee. My only not-so-like aspect is the iced coffee is a little weak for my liking, but I'm sure thats just a preference thing.

    (4)
  • Kristine R.

They renovated this place and WOW. This place is very roomy and they not only have large group tables but individual ones for those looking to get some work done. Alleluia!! There are so many seats available that you can spread out and avoid loud groups! Hello new study spot! Need I say more about their coffee and sandwiches? I stand by my previous review, they still maintain their good eats while serving up a great cup o' joe! In a classy cafe fashion, of course. Still delicious and perfectly portioned to leave you full and satisfied!

Not satisfied with this location. The last few times the customer service hasn't been good. This location needs structure and improved management.

I am currently in brewed. So far it's been a 45 minute wait for our food. Apparently there is no manager on?!? Second busiest day and no manager. Doesn't really make sense.

  • Chrystianna A.

Went here today for the first time and I have to say I'm really, EXTREMELY disappointed! :-( I had friends rant and rave about this place only to have it fall very short then expected. The cashier was rude and I don't think she looked me in the eye once. The customers behind me were all trying to butt in front of me and she didn't say anything! It is very disorganized! When I finally got my coffee they messed up my order, I asked for extra light hazelnut and black regular coffee. They did the complete opposite. I asked them to fix it and the person making the coffees gave me such an attitude. When the coffees were finally fixed I tasted them and oh, they were horrible!!! The coffees taste like burnt beans! $7 for a ton of attitude, messed up coffees, and burnt beans??? Save yourself the time and energy and go get Dunkin!!!!

  • Sarah C.

Really yummy pastries and delicious coffee. Nice atmosphere to sit and hang out in. Wasn't too thrilled with the service we received from the woman making our coffee though. I didn't hear my name called, and asked if a coffee sitting there was mine, and she just shrugged and went "I dunno". Eventually she looked at the slip to let me know if it was mine. She also put the sugar in last in my friend's latte, which wasn't really preferred since my friend then had to stir it in and ruin the foam. Other staff members were friendly and helpful, but this woman just didn't seem to care.

  • Robert M.

Great local joint. This particular one has a very large and friendly space for hanging out with friends and family while you enjoy a great cup of coffee, or coffee like creation. They also have a great selection of bagels, scones, muffins etc. They can also convert several items into great sandwiches. This one as well as one that I have seen in Cranston do not have drive trough's. So you will need to come in. That being said there is a DD close and yet still there were folks stopping in to get their cup of joe to go. So that must say something.

    (4)
  • Mhei R.

The best coffee ever I had was in this place, it's just the way I like it and not so strong like others..

  • Jenn K.

After terrible experience at the other Johnston location I decided to give it a try and wish I hadn't. I ordered a turkey club on a plain bagel toasted no tomato no pickles and a side of bagel chips should be simple not here... What I got was Turkey and lettuce on a non toasted bagel with a pickle pencil bag of chips most of which or blueberry. What happened to my bacon! And the pickle juice ruined my sandwich. Not sure why it's so difficult to make a turkey club properly and if your bagel chips are all blueberry why not tell the customer! Stay away from the Johnston locations for food! I frequent the Cranston location which is near my work, they've always got my order right and bagel chips are an assortment!

  • Marco D.

Been going to brewed since high school. Great place to go with fresh coffee, desserts, and now they have sandwiches. I'm a huge fan of Dunkin Donuts, but there's something to be said for fresh flavored coffee beans. Very relaxed atmosphere

  • Sean T.

Where to start? I love the atmosphere here, especially as a study spot or a coffee meeting place. I've never had an issue with the staff, who are always super friendly and polite. The whole set up is relatively cozy and conducive to getting work done. When it comes to the food and drink I would suggest sticking to normal breakfast to go foods like muffins, pastries and bagels. I've always found the food relatively inexpensive but excluding the previously mentioned items somewhat disappointing. That said, however, I always love the drinks and the coffee is priced fairly and tastes great. I would really recommend trying the cookie monster if you have a sweet tooth! It's a drink with little chunks of brownie and cookie in it with a consistency of well crushed ice. Be ready for a major brain freeze if you try this for the first time, cause you'll be slurping it down as fast as you can. Other things to know about this location include the fact that there is free WiFi, lots of room for relaxing and studying and they're planning on expanding it soon! I frequent three of the Brewed Awakenings in Rhode Island and this is by far my favorite. I wouldn't come here to eat after noon but I'd definitely come here for any tea, coffee or pastry filled adventures you have planned!

I love the Cherry Hill Brewed Awakenings!! Great staff (Alaina, Marisa, Aria, Kayla, and Alina) always make my coffee fantastic!!! Plus, serve it with a smile

I have been coming to this location and other locations of this chain since I moved to RI last Feb. I honestly expect a lot from a coffee shop, good drinks, good food, good service, plugs to plug in my computer and past that I don't ask for much! Now here's the problem. I go up to order a late lunch, I am on my second purchase since I got here today. I order a sandwich and bagel chips. The woman taking my order upsells humus - yummy I think, of course I want humus and begal chips what a great idea. Yeah! They call my name, just a sandwich. I ask about it, the staff tells me they are out of bagel chips so I say nevermind (yes I already paid for the items on my credit card and tipped) so they end up first returning me a couple bucks in cash, I accept that and have almost decided I will let it slide. I like the location, so I'll come back, but then one of the woman working rudely walks over and drops off an order of burnt begal chips and humus. I think "okay whatever, I'll snack on them even though I'm done with my meal - chips need to be with the sandwich if that's what you want" Two minutes later the second lady comes over and says since we returned you the money we need money back since we gave you the bagel chips - are you kidding? I fork over the money, pissed off and finish snacking - write this review and then leave. I honestly just want some respect when I go somewhere. I have posted numerous times on FB over the last year and half how great it is to sit at this location and eat and write, but this was uncalled for. So from now on I will NOT be returning to this location or maybe any location. I am not happy, the staff was rude and did not care about their customers.

Every time I'm in Johnston I stop in and grab a cup of a coffee. Flavors are great. I usually try to flavor of day and haven't been disappointed. Drive by D&D up the street and come here.

The coffee and food is great, however, the environment at this location is not as inviting as a typical coffee shop. I have high expectations on a coffee house....if you are specializing in coffee, the details in the art of making coffee is key. There is a lack of serving high quality coffee. I think this place lacks a Barista.... Most importantly, this coffee house is loud. I have been here on several Saturdays/Sundays while visiting family and after spending 1/2 hour at this place, I'm a little stressed.... This seems to be a favorite hangout for highschool students...There are waitstaff complaining about their highschool drama stories with their friends who are visiting. I've heard it all, from who they are dating, going to prom and where they are deciding to go to college. No one really cares!! Not sure if there is a manager on staff to oversee the team . If there isn't one..word of advice to Mr/Mrs Cofeee Shop Owner...you're losing customers this way! There isn't a coffee house around this area, with the exception of Dunkin Donuts. I will never go to Dunkin Donuts..however, Starbucks recently opened up near the Apple Valley Mall, so I'll be heading to that fine establishment instead.

Literally one of the worst sandwiches I've ever had. I got a buffalo chicken sandwich when my co-worker was going here and asked if I wanted anything. Huge mistake. The chicken was VERY gristly, I couldn't even eat it. It was so overcooked, and tasted frozen. The bread was Rye, but it was full of holes, stale, and soggy. There was barely any buffalo on it, it was pretty much just two pieces of dry breaded chicken, a hunk of tomato, and one piece of lettuce. This is a fucking joke. And for $7? I should just go to Venda and get a real sandwich. Don't let this place steal your money like it did mine. Fuck you Brewed Awakenings, kill yourself.

Legit the worst place to work.. The owner is sexist, racist, and is money hungry .. He Is very two face and doesn't respect the employees ..

My Neighbor took me here today while we were out this morning doing photography after the snow storm. I got there regular coffee with cream and sugar. I can tell you this its 10 times better then Dunkin Dounuts any day. I think come spring time/summer I will make it a regular stop on my weekend outings. The staff was all very nice to. One more thing for me from the South this establishment had a real welcoming and cozy feeling.

Love the coffee and the fact that their flavored coffees are brewed, not flavored with syrup. I've also tried a number of there pastries and breakfast sandwiches and have always loved them. The only reason I gave them 3 stars not 5 is that their service is slow and staff always the most friendly.

Something for everybody. Seriously. Communal table, work/study counters on the second level overlooking the baristas, sunny outdoor patio with shade and sun, comfy couches for lounging, laptop free tables reserved for lunch (and, you know, actual conversation) during peak hours...all leads to a vibrant, diverse crowd. The space is great, reclaimed industrial vibe, concrete walls and pillars accented with rustic wood tables and well placed wall art, high ceilings and huge windows overlooking a surprisingly calming industrial neighborhood. Coffee is excellent, and the baristas are friendly and don't hold their knowledge over your heard, like a lot of other places in this particular hood. This is the perfect place to drink whatever the barista recommends and bang out a couple hours of work, read a book in the sun, or catch up with friends. .

What a find! I typically enjoy finding local coffee places rather than the big chains because I find the quality and service far superior. I walked in and discovered a well organized shop that had a variety of pastries and ample staff for the Saturday morning rush. I was greeted by a friendly woman who noticed I was wearing a WPI sweatshirt and brought over someone who will be going there next year. This alone made me feel like the level of personal service was above and beyond. I ordered my coffee and a cinnamon bun (because they looked so irresistible). The coffee was full flavored and one of the best I have found in RI but the cinnamon bun didn't quite live up to my expectations. I would recommend this spot for coffee but it is louder than most other coffee shops I have been to so I took mine to go!

One would think that a place that specializes in coffee would have a better tasting coffee like New Harvest, Seven Stars or Starbucks. When I have coffee at Brewed Awakening's I am never completely satisfied with the taste of the coffee.

A gtotally decent spot to get my java on during my long days at the office. But I find the coffee is inconsistent - some days it's great, and others (like today) you have to wonder if they actually know how to make coffee. The location itself has a cozy coffeehouse vibe befitting of the business. It is always clean and well-stocked. On the service side everyone is friendly but it's painfully obvious that the regular crowd gets preferential treatment. Prices are decent - my large latte ran me about $3.95 this morning, which is slightly cheaper than Starbucks.

Best coffee shop around! The staff is completely awesome! They never forget a face and always remember what you order!! They are always very friendly an when the line gets long, they make sure move people along! The bagels are delicious and fresh! They also have great yogurt parfait, muffins and fresh fruit cocktail! They have a great variety of drinks including iced chai and my personal favorite iced green tea with lemons! Definitely a great place to start the day!!!

Brewed Awakenings....my long lost coffee mate now that I am residing in Sunny San Diego. What I can say is that their coffee is a solid 5 out of 5. Especially the Irish Cream, French Vanilla and Snicker-doodle. They have a good variety of breakfast pastries/sandwiches and some lunch items such as sandwiches and soups that are actually pretty good. They have pretty long hours and a cozy atmosphere so if you needed to study or wanted to read you could do so comfortably. But anyway, I went back 2 weeks ago when i was home and made it a point to get some coffee and as always it put a smile on my face. If you are looking for a good coffee place I would definitely recommend Brewed Awakenings.

No one is more shocked than me that I like this place. For starters, it's in a worn-down strip center, surrounded by a peculiar mix of shops, divorce attorneys, tax consultants and more. The shop right next door sells wedding gifts that look like they would be perfect for saying I Do in 1932. Inside feels like grandma's house--with a lot of people in it. Dark colors, a fireplace, lots of folks over 70 (many of them regulars who pull a few tables together and sit around and lament the "world goin' down the tubes). The staff is nice...sometimes. Sometimes it feels like they hate you, your mother, and mostly your face. I'm a modern kind of gal, who appreciates good, friendly service, so this place shouldn't be my cup of tea...but somehow, somedays, it is. The coffee is surprisingly good and they have a bunch of flavors (my favorite is the swiss chocolate almond, try it!). They give you a lot of it for a decent price--and it tastes fresh, not watered down. Sandwiches aren't exactly cheap, but the bread is really yummy (cranberry whole grain is excellent) and filling. I usually just get something simple like tuna salad, and it's always tasty and again, fresh. Amazing how that's so difficult to find... But I suppose what I like most about Brewed Awakenings is the ample seating (including regular tables and chairs and leather sofa seats), free and speedy wi-fi, and the ability to sit and sip my iced coffee for hours. No one gives me looks while I'm writing, no one tries to make me feel uncomfortable for staying more than 20 minutes. In my world, that's a gift.

Good food, average coffee if they get the type right. Service was less then good. Kids working seemed more into talking about people than service. Still on that note they are a little better than Dunkin Donuts. I don't go out of my way to go there but will still get a coffee if I am in the area.

Brewed is great! I've tried their coffees, sandwiches, bagels, etc. But I seriously go to bed at night and dream about their pistachio muffins. To. Die. For. Come in here a few times and the staff will know your order. They ask if you want cream, they ask if you are on your way to work, they ask about your family. You become a regular whether you like to or not. Although the place is pretty much always busy, the staff makes you feel like you are the only one there. And who doesn't like to feel special?
